Brighton was the next stop on our geocaching tour of Tasmania. Headed out for an afternoon of caching on a chilly day to find the few caches out and about here. We enjoyed our afternoon and all the caches we looked for were found. Thanks to all the CO for adding to the game and performing maintenance where necessary. This was a nice quick find and sign. The orange dye from the stamp has leaked all over the log book. TFTC

Found it this time, thanks for replacing.

After many times driving back and forth over this bridge, which I refer to as "Bouncy Bridge" because if you do more than 65km in a truck you bounce through the roof, it was great to see this cache replaced at last. Quick stop off on the way back from a trip out to Elederslie along the way seeing a baby wombat, an echidna, a blue tounge lizard, several bennets wallabies, and pademelons. Relatively easy find. The GPS hadn't settled when I started to search but I didn't wait to see how accurate it was. Thanks for replacing this one ShannonPC. I picked up the TB to move on shortly.

I attempted this cache on a trip to Tasmania from South Australia to visit family and friends and find a few geocaches.

Today was a big day, with nearly 500km covered. The main aim was the 'Something Smells Fishy' wherigo series, with a few other targeted caches along the way. The plan was to then head up to the Central Highlands before returning via a circuitous route to pick up a few more specific caches of interest.

I got away quite early, but unfortunately the fishing pole series took a lot longer than I had anticipated. I almost pulled the pin on the Central Highlands, but it was such a beautiful day, I thought I should continue with the plan, albeit a slightly cut back version.

All in all I was travelling and caching for almost 14 hours, resulting in about 50 cache finds - not a lot for the time and distance, but they were mostly specifically targeted caches that I was keen to find.

Unfortunately, after a lengthy search and broadening my search area considerably, all I found was a couple of used syringes at the final coordinates.

Thanks anyway ShannonPC.

We tried to attempt this one a while ago but thought we missed the parking. Today we returned and after reading previous logs realised we needed to park the other side of the bridge and walk across. We tried that and nearly got taken out by a logging truck! I guess this cache is fine when there's no traffic but we had a bad experience today and decided to give it a miss

22-Nov-22
Today Zozetta and I cached in the Brighton area, with a total of twenty three finds and one DNF.
We started off walking the riverside trail collecting the Derwent views series and one other cache then went up to Brighton and then drove up past Broadmarsh to attempt the highland series before coming back to Brighton to grab a couple of solved puzzles and a few of the Brighton series before grabbing an Earthcache on the way back home.

Parking here is a bit tricky as is getting to the cache without stepping onto the road.
Luckily it didn’t take long to find and sign the cache, and only one car came past during that time.

Thanks for the cache ShannonPC!

I parked away and walked back thinking this would be safer. Well when I got to the middle of the bridge it got a little bit of traffic. I would suggest this one could’ve moved to a safer spot.

Fitzy_1965 and I decided to do a bit of a whirlwind holiday visiting family and caching along the way. We did three states in four days. Tiring but so worth it. We are just waiting for Western Australia to open up and then we will be there too!

Day 2 saw us getting up early again to catch a flight to Hobart. Grateful for my Uncle being chauffeur and getting us to the airport on time. It was a fantastic day of caching which included collecting a number of LGA’s but turned wet and blustery as we headed up Mt Wellington. We ended the day with dinner at the Drunken Admiral on Hunter St….a fantastic experience.

All caches were found quickly and easily unless otherwise stated. Thanks so much to all CO’s for your hides.

27,041. Found with minniek during Day 2 of our Southern Australian meander.

After a fun day in Adelaide yesterday, we flew to Hobart this morning with an aim to do a short loop filling in some Local Government Areas. After picking up our hire car we started caching through our list. After a short stop at a nearby sandwich shop for lunch (yum) we drove on up to this one, which we had picked as it's a LBH. minniek made a nice quick find at GZ. Signed/Stamped the log, replaced the cache as found, then headed off to the next cache on the list.

Thanks ShannonPC !!

Found it.
Unfortunately I agree with a previous finder - this is pretty dangerous here on the side of a busy road, with no side verge or footpaths for pedestrians.

29-Jan-22
While out and about today we found a few caches on the way and this was one of them.

After finding a park we made a quick find, cache and contents were in good condition.

Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.

Having a postie wantabee in our group made this letterbox a must visit. The river height made this a probable signing depending upon where the cache was hidden.

Came across the road carnage debris and walked over the fur. At GZ went one step down watching the water disappear under the bridge and the cache was found. No letters to be moved on. Thanks ShannonPC for looking after the mail deliveries for the surrounding area.

29-Oct-21
I can’t resist a letterbox and seeing this one on the LGA we were after it swiftly made the list. I was a little worried about the river height and if we could get it, but there was no issues at all.

Down in the Apple Isle with JACS and TeamARF for a week or so to hunt some caches and traipse about having adventures. Fab puzzles and wonderful countryside. Awesome caches all round! We are thoroughly enjoying this adventure and grabbing some very well maintained oldies awesome locations. Today was mostly about Penguins! Adorable little creatures with an entire named in their honour and a GeoArt. We had a ball today despite it being along one! Finished off some LGAs and of course another cemetery. Tftc

Hi Shannon, well you certainly entertained me this afternoon, was heading to this mailbox when the familiar dings came through on the phone, I will just have a look. Two new ones of yours at New Norfolk, mmm yes why not!! So after the FTF's on your newest caches I came back here and found the cache. BTW don't follow Porkchop no need to head down lol. All is good at GZ, log was dry and stamped accordingly.

Out Brighton way to grab a small bag of hides this one was 2nd find of the day.

A bit of a look and the cache was discovered after a wee dig through leaves and sticks saturated by the recent 2 inches of rain Wink
SL on the safe side of the guard rail at 11:17 on TGIF 18 June 2021.

The cache and contents are in great order Cool

Flying along the road in an effort to get to an estate further up the valley I stopped for this grab. This is possibly my first letterbox cache and I want sure quite what to expect.

Watch where you put your hands due to sap from overhanging trees.

First name in new log sheet, getting very warm now on our trip southward.
We only discovered this one because there was a cache nearby we were targeting, that had a truck parked in front of it, so we travelled here waiting for it to move.
Very glad we did, found this easy letterbox cache, and, by the time we’d returned the truck had moved.

Today we headed off to Launceston for our first post-COVID-lockdown getaway. Having now found most of the caches along the Midland Highway, we elected to take a slightly circuitous route via the Highland Lakes, picking up a few caches along the way.

This cache brought us to a pretty little spot that we'd never been through before. The river is lovely, and there's plenty to see through the countryside! We'll have to do some more exploring in the area another time!

Having exhausted all the immediately likely hiding spots in the first few minutes, we came to a realisation we'd have to look just a little further afield. As others have noted, we spotted a used syringe right in the area we needed to search. We didn't have anything suitable to dispose of it safely, but have attempted to at least move a little further out of harm's way.

With that taken care of, we soon had the cache in hand.

Despite the minor issue of the syringe, it's still a lovely scenic spot. Thanks for bringing us off the beaten track and introducing us to the area!

Another one off my list for the day thank you ShannonPC

I remember coming here and find another cache here last year back today and soon found a needle as per the image, this is not good for kids at all, cache found easy enough

Today I decided to head down to Hobart for the day and collect some targeted DT caches and some others in amongst them for the day, apart from the 30mins of rain the day was quite pleasant for caching.
All up 49 finds and 10 adventure finds.

Thanks for the cache

27-May-20
Be careful of all the rubbish around, but a great cache and great hiding place! ️

09-May-20
I recollect being here before, but not with TaurusSix who was with me today. A very different hide awaited this time. The rain cleared up which helped somewhat.

Out and about with friends from Qld who are returning to Qld earlier than expected. Great day to be out. Yes, we spotted the needle. TFTC

Another one of many on our travels through Tassie, which is getting more and more difficult as everything closes down as a result of Covid-19 Twisted
Memsec to the rescue Smile, who generously offered to show us some of what Tas geocaching has to offer for a second day [^]
So off we went in the vague direction of Hamilton for some beauty and caching [^]
Nice easy find, cache is dry and in good condition [^]
Just watch where your putting your hands as we found a syringe Surprised

T-Tech and I are down from Brisbane for a meandering holiday around Tasmania. We flew to Melbourne where we picked up the campervan and spent a day caching there, then took Spirit of Tasmania I to Devonport. Tick that one off the bucket list!

Coronavirus has cut short our holiday, and so we are staying in Hobart for three days before attempting to get back to Brisbane. Today we are taking a jaunt towards Hamilton with membsec, picking up a few very specific caches.

Avoided the needle and made the find. TFTC, ShannonPC.

Another find as we were out for the day getting leap day finds, goose was on the ball for this one and we were soon adding our names to the log.
Thanks for the cache.

Before COVID-19 comes to an end I had better catch up with my logs, I've been reluctant to get round to this as it just reminds me I cant go out caching Sad

Country caches and lots of hand sanitiser were todays plan. I actually thought this was well hidden and happily didn't see any needles today. I remember an ausandaus2 cache very near to this one.

well done ShannonPC

Dropped by this cache on my way home from Launceston.
Nice Hide, but as a warning to further cachers, there is a used needle near the cache container. PLEASE BE CAREFUL

All good

Looked at plenty of old power poles. Only thing I found were old syringes and shoes. Please be careful if you bring your little ones here!!!!

Reasonably accurate coordinates and a logical hide led to a quick find. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks ShannonPC for the cache.

26-Feb-20
Hide, container and contents all good. Thanks for the cache.

Hello ShannonPC thank you for the cahce

Today I was up early as I needed to concrete in a fence post to a fence that I replaced yesterday.

After that MrsD and I moved a lot of old concrete from our back yard to the neighboring property that was about to be demolished. This took a few attempts at moving the concrete as it was a little hot for me today to be working out side.
After all of the concrete and rubbish was moved I realized I needed to get some petrol for the car.
Yesterday when I was coming back from doing some caching I found some where cheep to get fuel in Brighton so I thought I would go out there and fill up the tank.
After filling up the tank I went and found your cache.

A quick *FTF*

Today, on our 40th Wedding Anniversary, we decided to travel to Swansea for lunch and to collect a few caches on the way and after. In total we travelled over 400 km and this was one of the caches we found. After leaving Swansea we diverted into Dolphin Sands and then through to the Midland Highway via the Lake Leake Road and then we headed South. As this cache was still showing as unfound we decided to check it out but can only claim second to find. We have previously found a cache in this spot but nice to return for another smiley. TFTC
