Visited this site while on a work trip around this region. An amazing place in the middle of no-where and well worth the detour. Hopped around these rocks for a bit and took the necessary photo on top of the tallest boulder. Will send through the answers soon. Thanks for bringing us here! Cheers.

I somehow managed to be lucky enough to win a great state voucher for $50 off accommodation. The idea being to put some money back into regional communities after the pandemic. Uni and Medusa and I went away for a caching trip around Kingston using the voucher to stay at the caravan Park. We spent lots of money on diesel and food so the voucher did it's trick.
We stopped and found this cache on the way. Fav point added for the view which wasn't a scam at all.

We were passing so made the time to drive in with the appeal of both the 2005 and an earthcache. Really great location here and worth the drive in. After parking it was a short 300m walk along the easy track and then up onto the granite rock for great views.

Great EC with easy to follow description and easily answered questions.

After the Earthcache was completed it was a little bush push to the nearby cache then made our way past a great cave!

It was nice to return here today Smile, the last time being a fair bit warmer Razz.
A great walk up, seeing an echidna burying itself in the sand as we walked by Big Grin, then we stopped and sat on top Cool, admiring the views from GZ [^].
Took photos. Left footprints. Submitted answers.
Thanks GeoVenture2020.

This weekend, [@jesswrigley](http://coord.info/PRNW59T) and I headed to the Coorong for a night camping. We first stopped off at Nairne via Littlehampton, and then travelled past Salt Creek to cross into the Coorong. We camped at Tea Tree Campground, and on Sunday we travelled back via 42 Mile Crossing and Kingston SE, visiting Jip Jip Conservation Park and Coonalpyn.

Today, [@jesswrigley](http://coord.info/PRNW59T) and I continued our adventure along the Coorong with a beach visit, and then departed via 42 Mile Crossing. We did a loop of the vicinity by stopping off at Kingston SE, followed by Jip Jip Conservation Park. We then made our way back to the main highway, making a brief stop in Keith, and then arriving just in time for the Coonalpyn waffles event. We then returned home via Meningie and Swanport Wetlands.

We decided to take the long way home from the Coorong via Kingston SE and Jip Jip rocks. We definitely enjoyed our visit, climbing to the top of the boulder at GZ as per the EarthCache's requirements, and studied the geology. We came up with our primary theory for erosion, and sent the answers to the CO. Thanks shadow Freddo and the GeoVenture2020 committee for the EarthCache placement and ongoing maintenance. A cool place!

First trip away in the motor home and headed to Jip Jip rocks. The van made light work of the Sandy track up the hill.
Enjoyed the walk again to the rocks the hound was in fine form. We had our rock lesson and then headed back to the van, a BBQ and a zoom catch up with friends around the world.

Easter 2020 was supposed to see South Australia Geocaching hosting the next Easter big MEGA event, GeoVenture 2020 at Millicent. GC82DAN. Due to COVID restrictions the event is now postponed to early October 2021. Check out the event page and our website for new details. We would love to see you at this four day event. Mega event sponsored by Wattle Range Council, Geocaching.com and many other supporters. Lots of caches to find including two classic geo art trails including the famous animated bottle and glass.

A great place to watch the sun go down. A quick study of the rocks however and we left the others to do just that. A great day for it. TFTC

I've never been ripped off when coming here. Always a great place. This afternoon, there were a few cars in the park and a few distant voices heard. As we approached GZ, there was the faint clink of glasses and laughter. The rocks were a focus for a quiet getaway for a couple.

We looked closely at the rocks and enjoyed the serenity - no scam alerts here. Just nice rocks. As an aside, the formations reminded me of Murphy's Haystacks - but that's another earth cache.

Thanks to Freddo and **clear skies** from TeamAstro. [^] Cache the planet!

Found during a very enjoyable caching trip to the South-East of SA with e.gregory1 for a few days. On Day 1 we traveled to Robe via the coast road, Princes Highway, through Meningie, Salt Creek, Kingston SE and camping out for the night. On Day 2 we cached around Beachport to Millicent and completing the GV2020 puzzle series before returning to cabin accommodation Millicent. On Day 3 we toured around Millicent, out to Kalangadoo to do the bottle component of the wine geo-art series (leaving the glass for another day), down to Mt Gambier and Port MacDonnell, then back to Millicent for another night in the cabin in Millicent. Day 4 saw us return home through Penola, Naracoorte and Keith and back along the Dukes Highway. Targeting a range of cache types (Traditional, Puzzles, Earthcaches, Multicaches, a Letterbox and a Virtual), a multiple of cache attributes, and a wide variety of Difficulty/Terrain combinations resulted in some quick drive-by’s, tackling the trails, some tree-climbing, often using elevation devices and enjoying some nice walks and great scenic coastal locations. Thanks for the Earthcache Prof Freddo!

FeatherWaite and I thought we might chance our luck with the winter weather and head down to the south east for a few days of camping and caching. While the caching worked out well, the weather deteriorated quite a bit and we ended up having to abandon the camping idea after the first night and find ourselves a cabin for the next two. However, it did allow us to save some time and find a few more caches that we might otherwise have not got to in the time available.

After making our way down the Coorong, visiting a selection of targeted Traditionals, Multis and Earthcaches, we rolled out the swags on the first night under a beautiful clear (but cold) night sky near the coast south of Robe.

The following day we cached our way to and around Millicent until well after dark, picking up over 100 Traditional, Multi, Unknown, Virtual and Earthcaches, including the GV2020 geoart series, before settling into a cabin for the evening.

Another day caching around Millicent on the Friday allowed us to find another 85 or so targeted caches before the rain arrived in earnest and we were glad of the cabin accommodation again that night.

We made our way back home to Adelaide the following day via Penola and Naracoorte, again picking up a nice variety of caches along the way.

Overall it was a great trip, with over 200 Traditional, Multi, Unknown, Letterbox , Virtual and Earthcaches found along the way, many with quite high difficulty and/or terrain ratings. Most of the caches were in good condition, unless otherwise specifically noted. Favourite points have been allocated to those that I particularly enjoyed or found very clever along the way.

Many thanks to all the cache owners for placing the caches and the various puzzles. I am looking forward to my next visit to the region, possibly later in the year for the rescheduled Mega event at Millicent in October.

**** FTF 1.26 p.m. 30-3-2020. ****

I started 2020 with some improbable caching goals that only lasted until mid February. Red Face
Then came Covid-19 and now caching will have to take a back seat or be socially responsible. Twisted No more than one or two people and target caches that haven't been visited in some time. Cool

Today I was all alone returning from Naracoorte and into the back roads I went in search of a few out of the way caches. Razz
I had seen that the park was closed until yesterday so leaving Naracoorte I checked and saw no new logs. So detour made to a park I had actually been to before for a cache. Surprised

Stopped at the entrance, no sign saying closed and so in I went, sliding a bit in the soft sand. Made it to the car park and saw fresh tyre tracks but no cars. A short walk through the winding track and I was soon scrambling up onto one of the rocks that the GPS said was GZ. Bit of a scramble and the wind at first threatened to blow my hat off and then the further I walked out, threatened to blow me off. [B)] Grabbed the answers and tried to send them through. Razz No reception. Twisted Great views from up here. Will have to wait till I get hom then!

Answers have been sent to the CO and FTF confirmed from him.. HOOT Big GrinBig GrinBig GrinBig Grin

We had seen that this earthcache was still waiting for a first to find and we had also recently met several very enthusiastic Millicent cachers who wouldn’t like to leave a First to Find unfound. So why oh why after nearly a week was this one still available.

We decided that we’d drive the 145km from Millicent on the off chance we might log an FTF and if not we’d at least get a couple more smileys

We were excited to be approaching the entrance of the park but our delight was very short lived.....there at the entrance looking very innocent was a ‘PARK CLOSED’ sign due to vermin eradication....so we were feeling very JIPPED at Jip Jip Conservation Park

The park won’t reopen until 30th March (see enclosed photo)....now I guess we know why this cache remains unlogged

Consequently we then spent the day caching around Kingston and Cape Jaffa...which indeed was a great substitute.

Many thanks anyway Prof Freddo
