No luck finding the device. May need to be checked.Cant wait till its back in play and can finally complete this multi
After a string of dnfs and no luck ourselves I think it may need checking to see all parts are still In play
We found the device which appeared to be working as light worked and it disturbed the bats but we were unable to hear anything.
Thanks anyway.
Thanks anyway.
The good news is that there was no homeless person, it's not in that birdhouse, and the little red light came on. My hearing has gone? Flying foxes too loud?
DNF, found the first device but then was driven out as a homeless man clearly on drugs camped up in the trees escalated and got threatening towards me and the kids so will have to go back another time

After the forenoon spent at Glen Lomond Park, it was time to head into town for some well-earned refreshments with a few detours along the way.
This little multi was a surprise and lucky someone had really good heading in our little group or else I would never have made it to GZ. Once there thought, it was a quick find.
Thank you CommandoAndo for this multi with a difference, a favourite point from me.

accompanied by Snickersallan, Davidwazza, & Bris we swooped in for a quick park’n grab. But multis take a bit longer. This was a very different type of cache and was great finding the the hide, thanks Snickersallan for the timely discovery.
Found device at posted coords but wasn't able to discern the location of the cache itself. May have been the noise of the bats, or maybe a problem?
Day 1 of my outback travels and the start of my Queensland Outback Geocaching Muster trip for 2022. While I had a few hours to kill and wait around before I had to pick up Triple Turmoil, I headed off to Mt. Peel and around Toowoomba for some easy cache pick ups and a few DNF’s I had previously. It was nice to be out and caching around this town again. The plan was to leave this afternoon and drive a little further, to stay at Miles for the night for readiness for a bigger day tomorrow. This was all in readiness for our continuation from last year’s event and a very successful team collaboration with Willis007 and Jacs Team.
So I started with a couple of easy caches in town and then went for a walk around Mt. Peel (grabbed the new challenge cache, a trad and the whereigo). I then headed into town to spend some time looking for a Library cache that was the bugbear of my last trip, (got it this time). I then continued for a few more great caches around town. Thank you for the caches and the entertainment around here, sorry for the generic log but I got around 30 caches here. I signed the logs on all and replaced all caches as found, thank you.

A quick drive to Toowoomba today for a few finds.
Stopped here as I had some time to spare. Too many bats for my liking, persisted and read old logs before making the find
Thank you for this one

Staying in Toowoomba for a few days. A lovely winter day so we headed out to find some caches of course. Wow today was hard slog for us. We must have been overthinking some of these caches. [B)] Few difficult multi's and 5 tree climbs included in our tally today.
the waypoint container had quite alot of water in it. we werent sure that all would work but in the end it went off without a hitch. Just had to hope the bats didnt poop on us. they were noisier than a corella flock today.

Was a good hunt. But couldnt sign log book due to having no pen. Also take caution as the area is very muddy
Decided to park here this morning for a pedal around to hunt some smileys. A tad brisk up here, but that is better than the heat.
No trouble collecting the needed equipment, but the next part nearly drove me batty. Literally. Those bats are noisy. I can see how people could struggle with this. It was more luck than good management that I ended up where I needed to be, and even then the bats were almost too loud.
A favourite point for this one.

I have been back this afternoon. I can confirm that all components are in place and perfectly functional. Please ignore any components that are not various sized Sistema containers. If you find the right thing, it will be VERY obvious. Each box is labelled and is clearly a cache. Please keep looking/listening for the music of the train if you haven't obviously found it.
So I found this cache ONLY with the help of the previous finder Treasure Trakas ...
I crossed the park from the other side where the big pond is.
Find posted co ords easy.
But there was a missing device.
I meander through the park taking it all in, wish I could have had a ride on the train.
Sent a message to co, then to previous finder who help me.
There are 2 device in the cache, so I've left them in there - but I believe they belong in there.
The other part is missing.
Which is frustrating as I was looking forward to some thing different.
Any ways the park is beautiful. Water running through.
Tftc
Happy Hottest 200…!!!!

We have actually encountered a multi cache like this before. Though that did not take away any of the enjoyment of this one.
Wandered around aimlessly for a while finding the location of the final but got there in the end.

Always fun to do a cache work a difference Shame it was muggled, but I fixed up the empty connaught l container. Mozzies are fierce!
That was something different the bats were not that bad. Had to walk back and forward a bit at WP2 but got it at the end. All aboard for the next cach. Thanks for this one
***COs- Catching up on my now famous logging backlog. It started as a series of unfortunate events and went from there... Only seem to manage sporadic bursts so it's been a long haul project for me. This tardiness in no way reflects the quality of the hide or the enjoyment of the find. Apologies to COs for the late logs.*** ***************************************Ding Dong, going batty here with hatzofff, RoddyC and Imbunda to complete the SSE series and whatever else we can squeeze in.TFTC??

Caching weekend at Toowoomba and surrounding areas with RoddyC, Hatsoff, Echocage1 and GrannySmith1947.
After completion of the SSE group it was off to find other caches. We set off to WP1 and didn't see or hear any bats, then we started to smell them and didn't want to look up as they appeared. Found 1st WP easily then we walked away a little, discussed where it might be and soon had the 2nd WP in sight along with the device. Very clever but I'm not sure of its survival after very heavy rain so only time will tell. Log signed and all parts of cache replaced as found. TFTC

I arrived at WP 1 and quickly found what I needed, I have found a couple like this before so knew what I had to do but with all the bat screeching I couldn't hear anything else so walked around with device #1 and luckily in the right direction to soon find device # 2.
Hands and knees in the bat droppings to look for the log, no log found so left another log with device # 2.
Thanks for the multi

I found the device and door chime but no cache. Logging as DNF. Door chime is now in a single chewed out ziplock but still dry. Love the concept!
I guess there’s good news and not so good news… unless I’m missing something.
I drove in this morning on a cold and sometimes drizzly day to see what this one was all about.
WP1 is excellently camouflaged but when I found it, I was reminded of a really tremendous cache I found on Brisbane’s bayside a long time ago.
Looking around, I figured out where I needed to be and Shazam! Everything clicked.
The bats had been quiet as I approached WP1 but suddenly went crazy at the final, screeching and flying about. I just hoped they weren’t going to bomb me…
Extracting the ‘cache’, I found the speaker inside two somewhat shredded bags, but that’s all. It is still all dry which is good, but I couldn’t see or feel a logbook or another container. Very puzzling when it was only found two days ago.
I’ll claim a find if I may, but was sorry not to be carrying anything larger than an eclipse tin today as I’m guessing there should be a container.
If I’ve missed something, please let me know.
An FP from me for the concept and setup.

Well done, all of your devices are working, also the inital co-ords are spot on, a favourite is coming your way for this.
We have come across this style of cache before and if not properly maintained they can be quite a let down.
We have been to this area when the train tracks etc were in place and it was a beautiful place to be, today with the bats not so much.
Today the bats sang to us which we could have done without. After finding the cache we headed straight to the toilet block to wash our hands, just in case we had touched 'something'.

This is by far the coolest cache we have found in our adventures (and also our first successful multicache).
Tftc!! I was worried about not being able to hear much because the bats were singing to us quite loudly.... but once near GZ, we could hear it nice and clearly.
All is well with the cache and speakers.

It was to loud the first time we went. Went back a second time and found a rooster guarding the cache. Was then chased by the rooster
Crazy cache, hard to hear over the flying foxes, easier once we realised there was no track to stand on
With the new coords in hand we were keen to try for this one again and we had no problem this time.
The flying foxes chattering overhead made this a bit of a challenge. Anyway, we put our listening ears on, positioned ourselves where the drawing suggested and, yes.... we heard something. Played it again and was able to home in on it. Very clever. Loved it. Haven’t seen a cache like this before.
A Favourite Point from us. Thanks for the fun we had finding this cache CommandoAndo.

The final cache find of a fantastic weekend in Toowoomba completing the SSE puzzle series, a few other solved puzzles and a few multis so a successful weekend adventure was had by myself and my experienced friend Gcoven. We loved the concept and originality of this multi and after a bit of a search located the well hidden container. Thanks CommandoAndo for bringing us here. Also thanks to Gcoven for a great weekend away learning more about this adventure hobby of Geocaching.

I had a rare carers day off and decided to meet up with OmOm and go for lunch and why not grab a couple of caches too?
We arrived at GZ and the gps decided to chuck a fit - then I just put it in my pocket and started to look for likely spots. Found likely spot but nup - then looked at a few other places before something was telling me to go back to that likely spot. Oh sneaky little bugger!!
So with the device in hand I started walking to my 'hopefully' destination.
I struggled to hear at first because of the lawn mower from the top field but then the bats were making music of their own.
Finally there was a break in all that chatter and then I heard the music
Enjoyed this cache so much - a reward for walking around in the hot sun! LOL

Waiting for work to be competed. Grabbed coffee ️ and found this super shady park nearby. Located the device and toddled off in the direction of GZ.
Tricky to hear anything but the mower machines and thought it may not work at the mo. Checked the compass and metres and pressed and... Is that Took a few steps forward and pressed and, yup! It’s clearer now. A quick find once I was close Logged and replaced. Replaced the device in its hidey hole.
Excellent idea and great spot for a stop How good are those big trees?

This cache seemed like a highlight to our long weekend holiday. We’ve tried similar hides in the past and they have always ended in tears. Usually the tears are caused by a bad hair day or foot to the groin but we were committed.
We grabbed the device and headed off towards the cache. We tried so many times that I feared we were draining the batteries. I asked Mrs Woodyrothwell if she was prepared to spare a battery or two from her secret vibrator battery stash but she said hell no. I don’t know where she keeps that stash but I just have to put up with a dead TV remote when watching the footy.
My wife had the first go and then it was my turn. We seemed to overthink the instructions and after spreading out heard the sound of a couple of Mormons at the door. Awarding a favourite point for the fun we had and getting my wife to admit she has a “stash”. tftc

Found on a very cool Winter day for a drive around with The Green Geckos at Toowoomba.
A few good safe hides and lots of muggles around today.

Up from Brisbane with IolantheK for an unofficial Geocaching Event at Grows Nest on Sunday [^], but first an over-nighter in Toowoomba with some caching as well.
We had our doubts whether we'd find this one based on the DNF of the previous finder, but we thought we'd give it a go [^]
Collected the device at the posted coords and followed the instructions. After a bit of "press and search" I heard "the music of the train", mind you you need to be within 5 or so meters from it to hear it [^]

T-Tech and I stayed in Toowoomba last night, and this afternoon we are heading up to Crows Nest to catch up with some fellow geocachers. But of course I have a selection of geocachers to find along the way!
We made short work of locating the device, then followed the instructions on it, and came to the abandoned railway location. It was quite eerie, but we wandered around, pressing the button often. The local birds made listening for the chimes difficult, but after a couple of minutes T-Tech was in the right spot to hear them, and the cache was quickly in hand. Nicely done, so have a favourite point. TFTC, CommandoAndo. No maintenance required!

Found the initial device, very nice hide, however we’re pretty sure the device doesn’t make a sound as we had been back and forth through the area for around thirty minutes and not even a peep, may need maintaining
I tried to find this one after 9pm on the night it was published but the bats were too loud to hear anything. We aren’t getting out much to find caches lately, I think it had been nearly a month since my last find with the COVID19 issues but this one is close to where we often take our dogs for walk so it was a quick diversion.
WillPunkey grabbed the tool and we headed off to find the cache which was not too far away. WillPunkey actually had one of his Birthdays at the the trains a number of years ago!!!

Headed out to this one to break the monotony of the day up. This was the nearest to home so didn't take to long to hit GZ. Found the first part and headed off in the wrong direction...thanks phone. Back on the right track it wasn't too long before I had the hide in my hands. TFTC CommandoAndo
We found the device easy enough and headed on in search of the cache. The local residents were making a big ruckus making it a bit tricky, but we moved around trying to hear the music. We tried a different area and then we heard it! Huzzah we found it. Loved the idea behind this cache so it get a FP. Geopup loved the walk too. Tftc
Wanting to top up the calendar finds for today and with it being such a beautiful morning I took the opportunity to go for a wander in the park with Mr Esky and The Esky Boys. Confession time...I had visited here early on the morning of the FTF and found the first WP1 but as I was enroute to the second I spotted some homeless people under the shelter shed and did a 180 deciding to leave it for another day. So today I knew exactly where to go and what I was coming for and was saddened to discover it was missing. Looking around we discovered the discarded container in two different locations but couldn't spot the gadget. We returned the container to its hide and put out a call to a PAF who directed us to GZ. All good with the final but WP1 needs attention. Great concept. TFTC CommandoAndo.
Unfortunately someone has stollen the device, making the cache essentially impossible to find. I will reset in the coming days and note when it is ready again. Sorry for the inconvenience.
We found the first part yesterday but the incredible noise from a lot of bats and birds meant that we couldn't hear anything. We spoke to a friend who had found it so early this morning, before, leaving Toowoomba for Brisbane, we came for another look. I think it is a bit further from stage 1 than mentioned but we were able to hear the music above the general cacophony. This was a very interesting idea, for which it gets a favourite. TFTC and Greetings from Cyprus.

As usual Grand Poobah and I headed out to top up today's date on my 'My Finds' calendar. And with a new cache still waiting for a find this was the cache to go for.
Step 1 was easy enough, step 2 though was a bit tricky with so many noisy residents in the trees. But with a bit of exploring I found a likely location for a cache. [^]
