Awesome Cache idea. Simple but effective. Meeting of 2 passions books and geocaching with both of these being hidden in plain sight. Total:35 found
Found back on 30/3/2024 with UncleTom3 but didnt have Premium at the time. TFTC - lovely little street library
Day 9 of my interstate trip. Today I left Maryborogh and headed into Ballarat where I met up with some locals at a morning coffee event and helped out at a CITO. After that I found some local Geocaches before I left town and headed towards Bendigo making it as far as Mount Franklin Reserve where I set up camp for the night. I managed to find 21 caches today and only 1 DNF.Seen a well favorited cache so stopped by to check it out. An amazing local book swap one of the most impressive ones I have seen.TFTC MazzyMay
Found It........While up in the area at an event we stopped by to grab this guy. After pulling up we worked out the reason for the name. Once we had finished admiring the hide we added our names to the log and continued our journey. Thanks MazzyMayfor the cache. P.S. we are giving it a Fav point
First traditional signed in Ballarat What a nice place this is. We are staying nearby and we couldnt resist to come get this local gemThank you!(Done while visiting Victoria from Canberra)
This is just so nice!In town for a couple of days with Baristayan, and staying nearby so thought wed better go check this one out. What an absolute beauty in such a nice, winter street. Thanks!
Just on a short break with CaptainKirky for Mums 80th birthday. Even though dont have a great deal of time, I still wanted a grab a few caches including this. A very interesting hide is to probably why it has favourite points it does.
Back in Melbourne for the Mother-in-Law's 80th birthday, I found myself catching up with a friend and introducing her to caching in her new local area as she has recently relocated from Brisbane. As an avid book consumer (I read LOTS) I can never pass up a cache of this type. Was a great concept, cute little spot. Easy find, all in great condition. TFTC.
Find 5179 on May 6, 2024 Needed to fill a calendar day today so dropped past this one as I was at Bunnings getting things for the kitchen and this was not far away. A cracker of a cache. Worthy of anotheR FP. All is well with the cache. TFTC MazzyMay
Have found this previously but wanted to show my mum the wonders of geocaching and street libraries. Always a fantastic cache to visit. Tftc
In Ballarat for the weekend for a family wedding. Staying in a B&B near here, so made the quick, easy find. TFTC.
Completed this cache this morning as its going to get hot this morning after doing a close by Adventure lab. Thanks, love the fairy garden and little library book.
Woops forgot about logging this one with bdp, drobbo, kiwisteve. Had a great time doing the geotour. Thanks for such a great spot and cache.
Found this one with bdp, drobbonz and kimmy533 while doing the bgt. My logger is late. Tftc
I always love these little street libraries, so thanks for bringing me to another! All in good condition. Fave point from me. TFTC
Happened upon this cache by surprise, was coming to drop books off to discover it was also a cache. First log for the year
Love it! Fav for me. Day 3 in Australia and the lovely town of Ballarat. The goal was to try some different kinds and some very intriguing sounding puzzles. Of course this required some help but we have found the cachers around here super friendly and helpful. Thanks for the smile
Thanks for this geotour! Came down to Ballarat with Kimmy533, Bpd and Kiwisteve2, just to do the geotour! Tftc
Very cute. It's sold!Hope new owners keep the library and the cache. Is it in the sales contract?A huge thank you to everyone who organized and maintained the geotour. A great example of a geotour highlighting a region.Day 3 of BGTThe grand plan was hatched months ago to get the Geotour done before it went away and to make it to Adelaide for the Leap Day Mega. This combined with other side trips and other cachers along the way. Here in Ballarat are bdp, kiwisteve2, drobbonz and kimmy533. It's been fun so far! Ask me in 3 weeks how many caches and how little sleep!
Going to Adelaide for theLeap Day Mega, caching all the way. This cache, why??daily streakcache sizePopped in here to have a look at this one. All good here. I hope the new owners let it stay. TFTC
Found during an extended weekend in the Ballarat area with e.gregory1, with the main aim of completing the Ballarat GeoTour, but taking the opportunity to attend a number of events and CITOs, and searching for a good range of caches while touring around the district. Thanks for the cache MazzyMay!
Found with FeatherWaite on a 4-day trip to Victoria. From Adelaide. Our main aim was to complete the Ballarat Geotour and other caches of interest in the broader Ballarat area. There were also a number of events and a CITO to attend. The weather was on the warm side, but not too bad for this time of year, which made for pleasant camping each night. The cache was found in good order. Thanks MazzyMay for the cache.
Love finding caches in street libraries. Even rang the little bell So much fun TFTC MM Heres a **fave** for you.
What a cute cache! Beautiful street! Looks like you and the cache will be moving soon! All the best! FP for all the effort. Tftc.
Driving a friend's son home to Ballarat today from the Mornington peninsula and had to get at least one cache while I was here so I picked this one because it had so many FPs that I figured it had to be good! So I have now introduced my muggle friend and her very bored muggle son to geocaching which hopefully isn't the last one for my friend! I left a couple of little trinkets plus one of my pathtags and my friend saw a book she really wanted to read which I had to convince her that by taking it she wasn't stealing! I finally think I convinced her that she can always return it to one of the street libraries close to home and someone else can then enjoy it from there. TFTC!!
Found during my roadtrip from Canberra to do the Ballarat GeoTour. After finishing the GeoTour yesterday and finishing the 50 Must See Places series this morning, I had time to drive around Ballarat to do whatever else I wanted. What a fun street library, these caches are always great! This was a nice after-dinner walk whilst doing the nearby 10-stage AL. TFTC MazzyMay!
Snuck off from our Airbnb and grabbed a quick cache with so many favorite points. Saw the GZ is actually for sale, hope the new owner is a cacher too.
Wow, what a beautiful cache, an absolute delight to find and enjoy. Of course a favorite point from me. Books, Books, Books is find number 3,122 for me. A great large traditional cache I enjoyed finding as part of my caching fun in City Of Ballarat. Unless otherwise mentioned above, I found the coordinates to be accurate, the cache in good condition and the log dry and with plenty of room to sign. I am logging this one on Monday 27 Nov 2023 at 3:48 pm and the weather is Few Clouds 21C 39% 3 m/s . Thanks for placing this cache for the rest of us to enjoy MazzyMay.*Found with [Geooh GO](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mobiltal.geoohGO)*
A quick visit after completing the GeoTour. I can see why it has so many favourites! TFTC.
Another of the high quality hides in Ballarat. Today was one of the best caching days Ive ever had - across 25k finds, and 12 years of playing! Ballarat just doesnt disappoint. I could easily spend a couple of extra days here. I had a target list of 50 caches. Knowing I wouldnt make a dent in the stockpile out here, i prioritised the geotour before it ends, virtuals, a couple of 2001 caches, and my favourite - challenge caches, mixed in with a few rare icons that I struggle to find in WA. I could have easily given out 50 favourite points today, but I dont have many spare!Leaving Melbourne just after 6am and finishing ba k in Melbourne just after 7 - it was a solid days work! Thanks to everyone involved in making the geotour a success and the local COs for their great caches and experiences that they shared with me.Will be back next time were in WA for a holiday.
Came up this morning by train for melbourne, a nice little cache, thank you.
After a few Days in Melbourne and South Coast (Geelong area), wanted to do the geo-tour as the rumour is it wouldn't be around next time I am likely to be in Victoria. Clocked up some big km in doing the geo-tour but it was worth it - after speaking to other cachers, they said it was a must do if in Victoria. Also indulged in getting a few others in the area for other caching challenges. Thanks for caches I found today and the CO's for maintaining them.
I thought I found the perfect spot, but wasn't there. Looked for 10 min with no luck.
Q1) Take a close look at the granite here. What are the predominant colours in the stone, and what sized particles are they, compared to the other granite types you will see. E.g. Small, Medium, Large or Very Large.
An amazingly well kept cache. Thank you for this, im going to give it a favourite point. Sharpharp and I stopped here on the way to the cemetery. Pika 23/9/23
went caching with a friend today and this was our first for the day! nice and easy to find after we realised how obvious the cache was infront of us. nice selection of books in there aswell
Ballarat Geo-Tour TripDay #3 of 4 (17/9)Another great weather day for caching. Todays mission is to complete the Geo-tour, visit Sovereign Hill and find as many other caches as possible. I started by heading to Buninyong and finding some cache around there. Next I headed up Mt Buninyong to find the caches up there which included two of the Geo-tour caches. Then it was time to head up to the Woorookarung Lookout. Afterwards, I headed down the hill to visit Sovereign Hill and of course the cache. After about 4 hours of seeing the sights, I headed off and collected some WIGs, solved mystery caches, challenge caches and an old multi. It was a great day out and now time to get some sleep, so I can be ready for the long drive home. Im so happy that I have completed the Geo-tour. Thanks for the awesome series and I want to return to Ballarat to find some more caches (but it may be a long while). TB visit. I would like to thank all COs of the caches I found today and for allowing them to bring the Geocaching community enjoyment. TFTCs After the walk around Sovereign Hill, I decided on finding some more caches. This afternoon I mainly focused on WIG's, challenge caches and solved Mystery caches. This was one of the finds I made this afternoon. A very quick find here and once logging duties were complete, I was off to the next one. Thanks for bringing me here.
What a magnificent place! Hopefully the new buyers will maintain all it's quirkiness. Fav pt for making our day. TFTC
This is definitely a favourite so far, so cute! Love the hide, beautiful area too. Noticed the property is for sale, hope this cache remains!
We visited this geocache whilst heading bak to the accommodation for the day, and given its high Favourite Points count, I assured the rest of the family that this would be awesome. Well as it turned out, it was! We loved the little fairy gardens out the front of the residence, and then it was a beautiful books structure that greeted us! The cache container and logbook were in good shape. A nice note at the front that acknowledged the demise of the original logbook unfortunately, and I did spot familiar names in the logbook on one of the pages. Thanks MazzyMay for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance. I challenge anyone not to leave a Favourite Point on this geocache, so clearly I will do the same!

This extended weekend, [jesswrigley](http://coord.info/PRNW59T), infant Cottontail and I were visiting Ballarat from Brisbane, targeting the [Ballarat GeoTour (GT4A1)](https://coord.info/GT4A1). Highlights included the historical architecture, buildings, and artwork/sculptures of inner Ballarat, Ballarat Botanic Gardens, Lake Wendouree, Sovereign Hill, Eureka Stockade, and mountains Mount Buninyong and Mount Warrenheip. We were lucky to have great weather with no rain and mostly blue skies each day, which aided our enjoyment of our trip. Apart from the targeted GeoTour geocaches, our geocaching has largely been opportunistic following tourist sights and attractions, although we attempted/targeted higher D-T combinations from solved puzzles, and rare cache types like virtual caches, Letterbox Hybrid caches, and Adventure Labs.
Today, the plan was to attack the western geocaches from the [Ballarat GeoTour](https://coord.info/GT4A1) which were some distance away, which involved visits to Miners Rest, Learmonth, and Lake Burrumbeet. We started the day with breakfast in inner-Ballarat, and scoped out the Sturt Street gardens with its sculptures and memorial plaques. During our western drive, it was also an opportunity to visit the Avenue of Honour, as we visited the end and then drove towards the Arch of Victory Memorial in Ballarat.
In the afternoon, we looped around Lake Wendouree and visited the Ballarat Botanical Gardens where infant Cottontail had a play, and we had a nice walk within the vicinity. It was then a final visit to Ballarat central, walking through Bridge Mall and window shopping in the area.

Found at 10:40pm this chilly winter morning, what a charming little library they've created here, they're such a great idea. SL TFTC MazzyMay
Filling a little bit of time before collecting Mrs JTT2. Cache found and signed. A very happy little cache.
While travelling to visit my mother for few days, I decided to collect a few more of the Ballarat Geo Tour caches and also wander along to this one. I loved this cache and the wonderful workmanship that went into building it. It is definitely a favourite from me. Thank you for this wonderful cache and for maintaining both the cache and the book library.
Found tonight with thanks to the lights on this tiny library. Super simple bu also super cool concept, well worth a fave point from me. Many thanks MazzyMay for the hide.
In Ballarat, catching up with Happy pants and Omegaman1971 for a few days. Our main focus will be the Geo tour, but will take the opportunity to grab any other caches along the way.
Plenty of laughs and fun were had and some great hides were found.
This was one of the nice hides found.
Thanks for placing this hide and doing the maintenance, so we can make this find.

We found this cache after arriving in Ballarat on a cold, damp afternoon mainly targetting DTs that we need and GeoTours.
What a cool little library, and a built in logbook holder, I think that deserves an FP!
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache MazzyMay
