Was one of the more difficult caches to find on my journey this weekend was well worth it though tftc
Thanks 63ROOS for hiding this cache. Now that my calendar and streak are completed, I can just cache for the fun of it. Your Traditional cache, Nubeena #3 - ??, was just what I needed to get me out of the house and exercising. This is my find #2052 at 15:31 on 28/9/2024. FTF: Found with: selfWeather: fairMuggles: noneLight level: goodCache condition: goodDistance from GZ: Your cache was visited by my trackables: TB9QQD2, TB9KZ39 and TB7HH81
Today we headed out for our last day on the Tasman Peninsula and had a few caches to attempt to clear up before we leave. We drove Beryl the Moho to Eaglehawk Neck and then headed out in the Jimny to try and get as many as we could. Some of the puzzles were too hard for my wee brain but other than a dnf at the dog multi we had much success. We have been super impressed with the caches on the peninsula they have really made us think outside the box. Our thanks to all the CO for placing and maintaining caches for us to find, much appreciated .This was the first find of the day. When we passed through here during the week there was an excavator digging out a new dam so it wasnt possible to search for the cache . Today however no excavator in sight so was able to search. I think the D4 makes you expect it to be super hard so you dont see the obvious. Anyway after a few minutes the cache was in hand. TFTC
Wow... that was tricky. Even once I'd found it, I wasn't sure it was the cache until the log revealed itself. Super clever hide. Trusted the sat image as gps was jumping all over the place. Tftc
We must be losing our touch altogether. We've had help from a couple of CO's with Peninsula caches. Second visit revealed nothing despite specific info. from CO, so we reluctantly log this as a DNF. TFTC 63ROOS.
Hello 63ROOS thank you for the cache
A nice easy find after getting some help from you.

I wasn’t feeling hopeful to find this one and it seems we looked everywhere except where the cache is hidden. This just means I’m going to have to revisit it another day

I found the previous iteration here some time ago - but I spent a bit too long searching here today, so reached out to the CO for a clue. A prompt response saw me checking something I'd already looked at but dismissed - D'oh!
A clever find that tricked me good and proper.
Decided to head down to the Eaglehawk Neck area for a bit of caching, and an Ad Lab brought me close enough to make this one not too big a deviation.
Thanks 63ROOS, for the cache and the adventure - and the prompt and useful messaging
Cheers, EPs.

We had pretty much given up when we heard back from our message a friend option which it seems a lot of people needed lol
Today to checked and did not realize the cache is very hard open so fixed all done, and also replaced new log too… all good!!!!
This is definitely a 4 and a very thought-out cache! We only found it with a clue. We really love find caches like this this one that make you think outside the box. Great work 63Roos I take my hat off to you
This was hard. I wouldn't have guessed or found it without a clue! Thanks heaps. Was fun
DNF today in the rain ... lots of spots accessed but nothing jumped out ... probably just out of practice. Thanks for bringing me out here anyways.
Today we decided to head to Lime Bay and finding a few caches in the area, on the way back we found your cache along the way back to the caravan park.
This took some time to find but got there in the end with some help, cache and contents were in good condition.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.

Heading for Nubeena i decided to have a crack at this one after seeing it was a 4D, which is what got my attention
Managed to park nearby and began my search. [In hindsight, it was barely a minute into the search i was within 30cm of the cache with the right mindset of cache type but just didn't actually spot it]
I tried this and that and literally scrutinized objects, more than once ha ha.
It was about a good 20 minutes later i went over my tracks again and spotted the sneaky thing. This really blends in perfectly, i love it and therefor it garners a Fave Point from me and for the challenge
(I reckon the 4 Star Difficulty is fair coz it is a very well cammoed and sneaky hide... having said that i have been stumped by 1 and a half star hides then walked straight up to hides 3 Star D and above in seconds and found them so it really comes down to luck most of the time re: difficult hides but i agree with the 4 Star Difficulty rating).
SL with a smile at 12:30ish on Wednesday 7 April 2021.
I love it even more when these are found through sheer determination and persistence, on my own, it does pay off...... most of the time ha ha.
TFTC 63ROOS, a ripper hide indeed

Very very happy to turn this cache into a yellow smiley face. First time around we spent ages here to no avail. This time Diadem had a bit of a hunch, based on an obscure comment in one of the logs and quite quickly located the hide. This gets a favourite point from us. TFTC
2nd attempt at this one, going by the logs this one needs a hint from the CO. not for me, 40+ mins and out of time.
Second attempt at this one, both occasions have spent over 40mins searching
I recommend the owner add a hint!!
I recommend the owner add a hint!!
After a miss last time, a sizeable nudge from the CO gave me a good start this time around. Even so, it wasnt an easy find. Glad to turn a blue face smiley
After finding the original, about a year ago, and reading the all the entires describing how hard this was to find, we were determined to find this one. Despite a search party of three kids incentivised with icecream, we did not succeed. One for next time
Given the difficulty rating, we were expecting a bit of a hunt. As we had faith in teh coordinates, we located GZ and looked at everything we could. Eventually we found something which blended exceptionally well into the immediate environment. It was an excellent hide which blended so well into the situation. We have found many others like this hide but none have blended into the environment so well. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks 63ROOS for a great hide - it earns a favourite from us.
With a little help from the cache owner we found this one on our 2nd try. Definitely a good difficulty thank you for a brilliant crafted geocache
RoadieM and I did a quick drive down to Nubeena to look at an art exhibition. Couldn't resist doing a few caches on the way home. Had no luck when looking for the previous cache at this spot that was archived. Better luck this time though, with a little help from a friend. Thanks 63ROOS. Sneaky, challenging cache - my favourite! Deserves a fav point.
out and about with 2 Lil Rafas caching in the peninsula area a great day with good weather and views. having searched for the first version of #3 before. We arrived at the sight again to have another go at this blighter. took far to long looking through the pine trees diversions but having no clue to go on, it was a maybe here or here for half an hour. Lil Rafa got tired of not knowing what to look for and took the PAF option and got some info Thank you for that info otherwise we would be still looking in the trees. a clever hide, TFTC TNLN log dry. Just 1 little clue would help out our situation Please.!
Thanks for the cache 63ROOS.
Out and about on the Tasman Peninsula today with RLD4963 and the GeoGSP. RLD4963 and I failed to find the previous version of this, it was just too tricky.
As we pulled up to this one today memories came flooding back of our fruitless search. Nevertheless, we were determined to make a solid effort......
About 40 minutes later I decided it was time to TAF (text a friend). RLD4963 persisted in the search, whilst I just kept returning to the same spot, and wondering why I still couldn't find anything. Soon we had a reply and as a result we were soon adding our names to the log. We think the difficulty rating on this one is fair - it is difficult, they can't all be easy finds. Thankful for the help we got today and that we have a smiley for this one now!

Thanks for the challenge 63ROOS, has brought us here quite a few times. Deserves a favourite.

Had a day for a run around the Pennisula. Some great caches and my target - kelpies was visited as well.

Had a look but no luck. Being a D4 we weren’t sure that we’d be able to find it especially with limited time.
Today we decided to head down the Tasman to find a few caches that had been published since our last visit and this was one of them. We parked nearby and with the muggle cows very interested in what we were doing we set about searching. As we had found the original cache here we wanted to find its replacement but it was not easily forthcoming. After a lengthy search we resorted to PAF and a nice cache container was finally found. TFTC
After visiting Saltwater River and Lime Bay we were headed to Nubeeba and stopped here on the way. We remembered the original cache here! We struggled with this new cache, our GPSs had been giving mixed messages all day so and had to resort to phoning a friend.
A very sneaky hide that we were impressed with!
We had no destination in mind until about 9am when we decided that we would head down to the Peninsular after we replaced a cache for 1TOOLMAN. We knew we wouldn't have time to find everything we wanted but we reeled in a good handful and only got wet a couple of times thanks to Tassies crazy spring weather.
Thanks 63ROOS, a fav from me.

This one had us puzzled for a bit, our devices had us in the wrong place but tbh they had been less than perfect all day, we had to ask a PAF for a hint before we found it, and what a great container I'd be interested where the CO got it from.
thanks for the cache.
We had even less of a plan than normal today, Saturday morning and today's caching location was finally chosen as we picked up our first coffee of the day, so fix up a fellow cachers cacher and then we drove down South to find some of the new caches down the peninsula, no chance of getting them all but we'll see how we go.

Drive past here regularly to visit relatives. Had a spare minute today and that's all it took to find it. Most difficult part was extracting the log from the container. I usually carry tweezers for this purpose but didn't have my full caching kit with me today. TNLNSL. TFTC.
Spent a little while searching but didn't want to cut our day any shorter so decided to leave it. Thought we found it but it turned out to be a dead crow! We'll be back...
We arrived at this one and it definitely took some searching for, after not having any luck we had to PAF a hint was given and then the sneaky hide was soon found
Today JLROCKSTAR and I set off early from Hobart to the Tasman peninsula to find some caches for the day before having to return back to Launceston for some commitments. Overall 28 finds for the day.

Decided a few days ago to head to Port Arthur after an early morning appointment for Lady membsec, to do a maintenance run for the geofamily and also get a few newly released caches since our last visit. Turned out we chose a good day!
The GPSr took awhile to settle here so we searched in 2 areas then started to think we had the wrong idea. Our thinking was correct but we needed to go beyond the original search area. Very clever hide and difficult to see.
A favourite point from us.

Yay it's a yes from us, after the 2nd attempt to find this one. We have finally found it. Tftc
We called into this cache on the way back from the new finds at Nubeena. We had no luck previously with four of us looking. Such a tricky spot for a cache, particularly a micro!
Yet again we were foiled. We didn't have a lot of time, so will have to come back. This cache is not going to beat us again!!
Thanks 63ROOS, hopefully the next log entry from us will be a "found"

Hi 63Roos well for me it was a difficulty four, second time back here and finally put my hands on the sneaky little cache. Was here on Wednesday but got laughed at by a crowd of muggles as they were "mooving" along. Managed to be muggle free today and claimed the find. Thanks 63Roos for yet another great cache hide.
It is a shame that you thought you had to archive this cache in January.
at least it is back in play again now and we enjoyed looking for it today. Thanks for this cache and for all the new ones you have placed in the Nubeena area as it is a lovely scenic area to drive through.

a ftf after three days of being published , a clean log sheet was the last thing i expected to find here . I think the rating should be 2/3 . Beaut day for caching . accurate coords made this an easy find . all's good at gz Thanks 63ROOS
