I hate these fish. No idea how to solve the puzzle (couldnt find a code on line) so forced the solve which given the numbers on the checker seems the way most people have solved this one. Went up the hard way and back down the easy way. TFTC
A family trip to Tasmania during the school holidays since I was the only one who had ever been here and that was only 2 days in Hobart. So there will be a bit more exploration this time since we flew to Launceston instead for the start of the trip. A little bit of a search around in all the bushes, but found it in a couple of minutes. Thanks TasCoders for the cache, the adventure, the hunt and the fun.
Hi TasCoders. Today we found your cache .VK7HCH and I hatched a plan to continue our plundering of caches both GC and GCA in the northwest region. We have been busy solving puzzles so we can find those and others. Day 3 has us at Penguin and heading home from Ulverstone and in between. Thanks for hiding the cache for us to find today.
Thanks TasCoders for placing Penguin: Feeding. Swampy and I came back to plunder more of the NW coast over a long weekend. This is day 3, we are heading back along the coast to Launceston today. This run has us finding both GC and GCA caches. So many caches, so little time. This is my GC find #1913 and was found on 18/8/2024 at 07:50
Hello TasCoders thank you for the cacheAfter a previous DNF we came back with a replacement cache.I hadn't solved any of these puzzles a fortnight ago so with some help from a lovely lady I was able to solve some of the ones that EeePees hadn't already worked out.EeePees and I came up this way to find some caches to get a souvenir that no one will see.Found on Saturday, 17 August 2024 at 1553**TFTC**
Thanks for the cache TasCoders.Found with my chauffeur AlbyDangles on a trip up from Hobart staying 2 nights in Penguin - working today on completing this great Penguin GeoArt.This one was a DNF earlier in the day despite a concerted long search by 4 sets of eyes; and for several geocachers before us - in fact not found for over 12 months. So, we've returned and - based on several earlier conversations with the CO for similar caches, to keep the series intact, and of course for us to log a find for us to complete the entire series - we've added a replacement cache and advised details to the CO. (200ml sistema in hollow BOT with natural cammo).Cheers EPs
Solved this one nearly three years ago and couldn't find it at GZ. It was missing then so today while we were out and about we parked at the Surf Club and walked along to GZ. Coordinates took us to the same place we searched last time but again we couldn't find your cache. Lots of blackberries and long grass at GZ. It's probably there but with three searching we couldn't find it.
Sorry TasCoders, after a thorough search I did not come up with the goods today for your Mystery, Penguin: Feeding. It may be worth a sanity check to see that it is still here, I have been known to be cache blind at times.
Hi TasCoders. Today I/we attempted to find your Penguin: Feeding. Unfortunately, one of the following happened and that made us unsuccessful in logging a find :1. Hadnt rubbed all the sleep out of my eyes. 2. Hadnt had breakfast so was concentrating on filling my stomach. 3. Had someone else with me and they couldnt be bothered looking and wanted to leave. 4. Had muggles hanging around waiting for me to leave so they could relieve themselves. 5. Wrong time of day. 6. Wrong time of night. 7. Wrong information given to me about where the cache is hidden. 8. Coordinates out by more than 10 metres. 9. Nobody has blown up the nano factory yet. 10. Too much or not enough water / light / GPS signal. 11. Flat battery in navigation device. 12. Cache has been stolen / muggled. 13. Such a small cache hidden in such a large area (fake rock in a boulder field / pico in west coast horizontal scrub)14. Too far up the tree to reach with the ladder AND the pole. 15. Too far down the hole to reach with a magnet or grabby tool. 16. I gave up looking. 17. I need to be somewhere else soon/now/a while ago. No offence intended! One of these may actual fit my DNF on your cache.
A 'Thelma & Louise' style weekend away with Geoturtle37, to celebrate her recent milestone birthday. We are flying in to Launceston on Friday afternoon, returning to Melbourne on Sunday evening. Our carefully planned itinerary includes selected LGAs, placement dates, DTs and high faves. If we manage to find them all, we can expect 186 smilies in total.
Again, this was is the first place we looked, and also the last place we looked. Many many many places in between. Could do with a cito up here!
Thanks for bringing us here by placing this cache, TasCoders

OzHockeyChick shouted me a return flight to Launceston for my birthday. So grateful for this awesome gift and so very pleased to have her with me to celebrate.
We got diverted to Hobart which definitely wasn't part of our tight schedule. Once we arrived back in Launceston, we hit the ground running and kept going for the whole weekend.
We looked and search and looked here again. Eventually, OHC found the cache in about the first place we looked. It is a shame that the CITO wasn't up here as there is a lot of rubbish. Maybe next time.

Not a great start to the day…. I’m saying it is a combination of not quite being awake and lack of coffee!!
A message to the CO confirmed I was in the right location, it seems my eyes were just not seeing or looking in the right spot!!

Our first morning in Penguin, and we are keen to explore the area and find as many of the remaining Penguin puzzle caches as we can. A lovely morning for the walk to find this one. A number of people were out along here walking their dogs. Once at GZ it did not take long for us to spot the container. This was a fun puzzle to solve, which we did in June last year. TFTC
This was no 13 of our Penguin hunt
GPS was all over the place, we had assumed that cache had been removed as we felt GZ had recently had a party and rubbish was in GZ
As a result of my fall I was not up to attempting the climb again. CO kindly gave us permission to log - next time in the area we will go and search again

Penguin was our goal today, such a pretty little town. I was hoping to find a few of the solved puzzles in this enjoyable puzzle series. This was our first stop and I’m glad we parked when we did and walked. Our clue didn’t match the hide but we were happy to make the find and enjoy our walk back to the car park.
Thank you for the cache.

Discovered the Penguin on the map while preparing our campervan trip around Tasmania and that was it, we had to visit Penguin.
First of all, the puzzles needed to be solved. Some were quite easy, some needed more time and effort, and some left us stumped. With our departure for Australia approaching fast, Mrs Bear started to panic, she desperately wanted a complete penguin. With a little help from our friends, well, with a lot of brainstorming and help, we managed to get all the coordinates.
Now we just had to find all the caches. Two nights at the caravan park and an entire day for the penguins seemed comfortable. It wasn't, two days would have been better, yet again we managed and we thoroughly enjoyed it.
A beautiful geoart, interesting puzzles and great caches.
Thanks TasCoders for all the fun.

Before driving off to the airport in Launceston we decided to pull into town to use the facilities before the rest of the drive. We had been in town yesterday so we knew where all the public toilets were which is something all good geocachers should add to their map.
As we walked over a duck made a bee-line straight for us squawking all the way. I don’t know if it was still pissed off at us that we hadn’t fed it yesterday or Instagrammed a photo of it without getting permission first. It was on a serious mission to let us know we were from the mainland and should head home stat! It came from 50 metres away and wasn’t ready to let us go before it tried untying Mrs Woodyrothwell’s shoe laces first. If it was a penguin that would have been cute, but a duck. Thanks for the welcome!
Yesterday afternoon I fixed up the coordinates and we came to find our last penguin cache for the trip. We had bold plans to finish the geoart but finished nowhere near it. Our map looks more like pademelon road kill than a penguin but we loved the area so much we already have plans to holiday in the area again so hopefully we can rectify it soon. Thanks for showing us a great spot in the state. tftc

Cache location has been relocated due to difficulty accessing the old location.
The Puzzle is still the same, however the new coordinated and updated hint have been added to the solution notes.
Please contact us if clarification of final location is needed

In Penguin for the weekend and having a day out caching in the area. We'd solved all of these puzzles several months ago during a spot of compulsory isolation! TFTC!

Had solved this one a while ago and while I was a bit worried as I couldn’t find where I had written the hint it was such a beautiful day, thought I would go and have a look anyway. Excellent coordinates made it a quick find. Really enjoying this series. TFTC .
Up bright and early to try and finish this series while the family sleep. Solved this series back home in Brisbane before heading south. It’s a great series with fabulous puzzles and even better caches. Just amazing!
Did this one second before the construction workers stated for the day. Quick find here thanks to a good hint and coords.

3 days off from work, and Geo Kid O joined me on a journey to Stanley and then down along the western explorer road towards Corinna. We have a great time finding a number of caches and driving a road I had not travelled on before.
The Western Explorer road was closed for a while and recently had been reopened with a new bridge near Balfour. Some very interesting sights along the way, with part of the road feeling more like a forest track, and other parts felt like a place where no one else has gone in the past, other than on the road. The open button grass plains were amazing along with the mountain views.
We stayed in Stanely, and the caches in and around Stanely were very good, including one walk to the top of the Nut. Gee that is a steep 400 metre walk.
Thank you for the cache which was part of our journey

Down in the Apple Isle with JACS and TeamARF for a week or so to hunt some caches and traipse about having adventures. Fab puzzles and wonderful countryside. Awesome caches all round! We are thoroughly enjoying this adventure and grabbing some very well maintained oldies awesome locations. Today was mostly about Penguins! Adorable little creatures with an entire named in their honour and a GeoArt. We had a ball today despite it being along one! Finished off some LGAs and of course another cemetery. Tftc
This was the furtherest penguin cache to be collected as we do the final run to complete the penguin series. After a DNF on the final, received a message from the COs suggesting where I should be looking. All good in that respect as we're heading back into town anyway. It's now 4:30ish in the afternoon and we still have a way to travel.
re the puzzle, did manage to track down the reference material after attempting to work from first principles. There were some wild assumptions from the first principles approach which had me located somewhere between the middle of the Bass Strait to Devonport. It was good to nail this one down, thanks TasCoders.

Love this art and having a wonderful time in this town spotting all the penguins around. This series is amazing with great puzzles, fantastic coords and great containers. Thank you for such a fun day.
Container has been replaced. Coordinates are the same but the container size has changed & it is now a hanger.
Another solved last night and Mr Beetle knew about the track to this one. It was very wet and I was prepared to walk but Mr Beetle reckoned we'd be right to drive to GZ. The water was deep but we didn't even have to resort to 4WD.
A lengthy search by Mrs Beetle and then by Mr Beetle as well failed to uncover this cache.
Maybe next time!!
Thanks.

For the "official" second day of winter, and being such a calm and mostly sunny morning we set out to claim 6 solved but not logged puzzles in the Penguin Art Series. However, straight away we discovered that nothing west of Ulverstone would appear on the App. So we had to figure out which ones we wanted and enter the codes manually. The upshot was that 5 out of 6 were logged in the end. So happy enough with that.
Coffee break over, and time to go fishing for this one. 4x4 handy again as two vehicles were blocking the access track, but we overcame that little obstacle to park at GZ. All good here at GZ once again. TFTC TasCoders.

Found with gwd.aussie while enjoying a tassie caching adventure. Before leaving Victoria we solved many caches however sadly we will not be able to find them all. After setting up camp then finding something for lunch we took a scenic drive out to Penguin with the aim to at least start finding this series.
Thanks TasCoders
Thanks TasCoders
Found on a "Grand Day Out" with CupcakeCookie54 and Washawa.
Thanks for the series.
Thanks for the series.
A truly fabulous series with plenty of variety and challenges that stretched the grey matter but consolidated skills along the way. Plenty of you have to be kidding moments! If it were all up to me, it would be a few years before I could claim a solve for all, so a nudge from some buddies did help when I got to a dead end. Having said that, I’m here on a solo mission -one day to collect all caches before I head off to Jerusalem Walls and beyond for a 9 day hike. This is such a nice start to a few weeks on the Apple Isle and Penguin itself is quite idyllic. Apart from a couple of caches, I found each without the hints (and one DNF grrr given it could be awhile to return. TFTCand the FUN - appreciate the effort to create and place the series.
Thanks Tascoders, out and about with 1 Lil Rafa caching on the lovely sun coast, to get lots of mysteries for a challenge. found the cache within minutes. TFTC TNLN log dry.
Thanks for the cache TasCoders.
This puzzle took ages - I spent a lot of time using search engines and came up empty-handed many times. After many attempts over a few weeks I eventually found the info needed, and was able to get the thumbs up from the geo-checker.
RLD4963 and I were in the Penguin area for a couple of days - combining finding caches in the area with watching a play in Burnie in which a friend of mine had a role.
Today we made our way to GZ and made a nice quick find. All is well at GZ.

Found with CybergranV and her MuggleHubby on our family holiday to the Apple Isle.
After meticulously working through these puzzles at home on the mainland, it was finally time for us to coax each penguin out of their cosy little hidey holes.
There was something fishy about both the puzzle and GZ.
Counting down the metres as we approached our calculated coords, we could see a 4x4 parked right at it blocking the narrow path.
Clearly another cacher was out here rummaging through the bushes for this hide as well.
Nope.
The muggle was still asleep in the tent pitched in the middle of the path in front of their car.
The cache was retrieved, signed and returned quietly without the roadway camper being any the wiser.

A clever way of presenting coordinates TasCoders.
Muggle Hubby managed to find a little track in off the Highway, making it easier for dalerious to find this one even though there was a car parked and a tent pitched right on the track nearby.

Up in this area to complete these Penguin puzzle caches which we solved not long after they came out and to attend the Celebration Event tomorrow in Ulverstone.
Interesting puzzle and a lot of googling for this one. Just finding the correct site was the trick. Luckily GZ was easier. Had to dodge a few puddles but the cache was nice and dry!

I saw this series get published the other day and with only limited time in tas the solving process began. Majority I had no idea where to start so asked some friends from interstate for help, they also had no idea on some. Back to the drawing board and then some help form previous finders was had to finish off ones I was still stuck on. Majority of these puzzles are 3+ stars and are all a bit underrated expect the W3W.
The goal today was to find all the series as I drove around but after a DNF on one I decided to skip a few for a later trip but managed to find all but about 6 and enjoyed the variety of hides around the area. All caches found are in good condition.
Today with the weather not looking so bright in Launceston seemed like a good idea to head to the north west for a full days caching. Started in Latrobe before heading west and finding myself in penguin then detouring back home via penguin and 2 caches in Launceston to top off a long day out. Total of 66 finds and 15 labs for the day
Thanks for the cache

Today we explored Penguin and Wynyard with whitewebbs and gooseandegg collecting caches along the way which were solved ready for this adventure and this was one of them, an excellent series.
Cache and contents were in good condition.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment, an enjoyable day with great company.

We had planned to meet Tassie Trekkers and whitewebbs in Penguin to find a few caches we all wanted to tick off. That was before the Penguin geoart appeared! Now we had an even bigger incentive to visit my favourite northwest town, but we had to work through all the puzzles first. Some were fairly easy but we struggled with many, all the while enjoying the challenge.
The challenge of finding them all was just as interesting due to some clever hides and muggle activities closer to town. In some cases we were able to grab caches from under their noses without them realising!
Thank you TasCoders for creating this series at just the perfect time for our geocaching holiday to Tassies 'Gold Coast'.

Today was the day to cache in Penguin with Tassie Trekkers and gooseandegg and this was one of the caches we found. It has been such a long time since we have all cached together, probably at the OZGM at Cataract Park last July so it was great to be out doing a caching run. Now before we could do the caching run we had to solve an excellent series of puzzles. Some were easy and some stretched the grey cells but we managed to get them all solved to add another 33 caches to the long list of "to do" caches we already had but we were very pleased we did as the hides were excellent, the geoart fantastic and we enjoyed reading the information on the penguins. A job well done which should attract a lot of cacher to the area. TFTP
Found on my way back from a small shopping trip to Burnie. Also good place to give the geomutt time to stretch his legs and do what dogs need to do.
We didn't find a "pure" solution to the puzzle. We used what was already known, took some educated guesses and with a little trial and error and a preliminary check on Google Earth, we soon had a set of coordinates which were confirmed by the GeoChecker. Today we went to look got the cache. Accurate coordinates and the hint led to a quick find of a well hidden cache. The cache and contents were in good condition. There being no entries in the logbook, we will claim {FTF} at 9:17. Thanks TasCoders for the cache and the excellent series of good puzzles and good hides. In hindsight we have decided to go back and add Favourite points to all of the caches we have found so far.
