Thanks TasCoders for placing Penguin: Emperor. Swampy and I came back to plunder more of the NW coast over a long weekend. This is day 2, we are heading to Penguin today. This run has us finding both GC and GCA caches. So many caches, so little time. It appears that the original is missing, a replacement has placed and the CO notified with updated hint and pictures. This is my GC find #1895 and was found on 17/8/2024 at 12:58

Hi TasCoders. Today we found your cache .VK7HCH and I hatched a plan to continue our plundering of caches both GC and GCA in the northwest region. We have been busy solving puzzles so we can find those and others. Day 2 has us around Penguin and Ulverstone and in between. Thanks for hiding the cache for us to find today. Finding this cache takes my GC finds to 5091 and I found it on Saturday 17 Aug 2024FTF: NoMates: VK7HCHMuggles: My EPE: Condition: GoodWeather: overcastMy favorites:Creative - Back to the future 1 by peaches (GCA5JYD)Hardest - Men in Black Holes by SG-3 (Archived)Most visited - Dragons Lair by Shagzter (GC2E33)

Thanks for the cache TasCoders.Found with my chauffeur AlbyDangles on a trip up from Hobart staying 2 nights in Penguin - working today on completing this great Penguin GeoArt. This one was a DNF earlier in the day, but after a chance meeting with 2 other cachers we were informed that this one had just been replaced and now the hint is BOT.So, back here again to make a quick find and add our scribble into the log. Thanks for the series.Cheers EPs

Hello TasCoders thank you for the cacheAfter a previous DNF we found out this cache had been replaced so we came back to find it.I hadn't solved any of these puzzles a fortnight ago so with some help from a lovely lady I was able to solve some of the ones that EeePees hadn't already worked out.EeePees and I came up this way to find some caches to get a souvenir that no one will see.Found on Saturday, 17 August 2024 at 1503**TFTC**

The caching gods must be watching over me. Pitch black, tiny little torch and….BAM… there’s the cache! Most times I struggle to find these in broad daylight!

I should have started my day earlier as I had a number of solved mysteries I wanted to find before I head back to the big island, but yesterday’s caching fun didn’t end until the wee hours of this morning so I had a bit of a sleep in

This is Number 2 in the series

I enjoyed solving the series in preparation for my two week holiday in Tassie. I arrived in Penguin about half an hour ago and have tried to find two caches. One nearby was a dnf after a 25 minute search and this one was a tree climb even though there's no mention of this in its attributes. I think I'm going to skip the others and just keep going, oh what a shame. But thanks for the series.

While passing near Penguin I had sufficient time to make a quick detour to attempt this find, having solved the puzzle to acquire the coordinates some time ago. A quick muggle free find was made.

29-Nov-22
Discovered the Penguin on the map while preparing our campervan trip around Tasmania and that was it, we had to visit Penguin.
First of all, the puzzles needed to be solved. Some were quite easy, some needed more time and effort, and some left us stumped. With our departure for Australia approaching fast, Mrs Bear started to panic, she desperately wanted a complete penguin. With a little help from our friends, well, with a lot of brainstorming and help, we managed to get all the coordinates.

Now we just had to find all the caches. Two nights at the caravan park and an entire day for the penguins seemed comfortable. It wasn't, two days would have been better, yet again we managed and we thoroughly enjoyed it.

A beautiful geoart, interesting puzzles and great caches.
Thanks TasCoders for all the fun.

Visiting from Brisbane and staying the night in Penguin. This was a quick solve and in approaching GZ I was thinking oh no not a tree climb. Don’t get me wrong I love a good tree climb but I’ve hurt my shoulder so was concerned. Hubby was with me and he offered to grab it (& he’s taller) but no I was determined. Up I went and easily got there even with a dodgy shoulder. TFTC TasCoders

Down in the Apple Isle with JACS and TeamARF for a week or so to hunt some caches and traipse about having adventures. Fab puzzles and wonderful countryside. Awesome caches all round! We are thoroughly enjoying this adventure and grabbing some very well maintained oldies awesome locations. Today was mostly about Penguins! Adorable little creatures with an entire named in their honour and a GeoArt. We had a ball today despite it being along one! Finished off some LGAs and of course another cemetery. Tftc

Found this penguin and I had to stand tall to collect it in this grove of trees. Had to raise my sights before spotting it. This is penguin number 2 collected as it starts to materialise from the transporter. Thanks to the TasCoders for their efforts in pulling this series together.

Container replaced.

Disabling this one until we can replace the destroyed container.

18-Jul-21
A quick find here as this one was laying on the ground and smashed into many pieces. I suspect it has fallen from its hiding place and been run over by a mower.
Found the log book nearby and that was a sodden pulpy mess too.
Removed the lot as it was beyond help.
Have photos of what we removed if necessary.
Suspect this one will have to be disabled until it can be replaced.
Thanks.

We needed a find today to fill a gap on our caching calendar so mr sharnie's tribe headed out to try to find this one. The puzzle had been solved a while back and saved for a date that we needed. The cache container was found on the ground and hopefully replaced where it was supposed to be. Thanks for the cache and the puzzle

I had solved most of these puzzles over the past few weeks. A fleeting visit to penguin meant just a select few were sought. started here.

A truly fabulous series with plenty of variety and challenges that stretched the grey matter but consolidated skills along the way. Plenty of you have to be kidding moments! If it were all up to me, it would be a few years before I could claim a solve for all, so a nudge from some buddies did help when I got to a dead end. Having said that, I’m here on a solo mission -one day to collect all caches before I head off to Jerusalem Walls and beyond for a 9 day hike. This is such a nice start to a few weeks on the Apple Isle and Penguin itself is quite idyllic. Apart from a couple of caches, I found each without the hints (and one DNF grrr given it could be awhile to return. TFTCand the FUN - appreciate the effort to create and place the series.

A quick trip to Ulverstone to find a few caches to help on my target for the year. Happy to say I’m now one fifth the way there after one sixth of the year. So on track!

Actually had to look down for this cache as it was sitting on the ground. I wedged it in a fork as I was unsure where it had come from

Thanks for the puzzle cache TasCoders.

This was another puzzle that I recognised and so was able to find co-ords that agreed with the geochecker quickly.

RLD4963and I found this one on our way to our accommodation in Penguin, where we were staying (we were here for a couple of days, combining it with going to see a play in Burnie which a friend of mine was in).

Visiting GZ today, it was another nice quick find. Our last find for the day, it was now time for dinner! Had a great day.

Found with CybergranV and her MuggleHubby on our family holiday to the Apple Isle.
After meticulously working through these puzzles at home on the mainland, it was finally time for us to coax out each penguin from their cosy little hidey holes.

I dont know how she does it but Cybergran V had this one solved in no time almost reading the solution off the puzzle page.
The cache was found and returned almost as quickly.

I’m sure this code has a name but I know not what it is.
There was no problem decoding it just by looking at it.
Thanks for another in the series TasCoders.
We are enjoying exploring your delightful area.

Up in this area to complete these Penguin puzzle caches which we solved not long after they came out and to attend the Celebration Event tomorrow in Ulverstone.

The puzzle was sorted out quickly and the hide was interesting. Getting hungry now so heading into Penguin.

I mostly-solved this geoart series in a town I know well within a few days of it first coming out (all bar a couple). I thought I'd be here sooner but that wasn't to be. I was in town on "other business" and geocaching wasn't my priority.
Master 7 and I went for a walk and darling wife came to pick us up. We checked out the new oval facilities behind the school and stopped in here on our way back to where we were going.
Another anecdote here... I once tailed a probably-stolen van from Devonport with a probably-teenage driver who ended up overshooting the road near here, miraculously between the sign and the tree, and ended up stopping very close to GZ (it would have been a different story if he'd kept going or hit something on the way which was somewhat a miracle). He ran off and the van was gone by morning. A clapped out 1979 hiace is lucky to reach a top speed of 100. Anyway, another interesting story for the memoirs people tell me I have to write some day.

I saw this series get published the other day and with only limited time in tas the solving process began. Majority I had no idea where to start so asked some friends from interstate for help, they also had no idea on some. Back to the drawing board and then some help form previous finders was had to finish off ones I was still stuck on. Majority of these puzzles are 3+ stars and are all a bit underrated expect the W3W.

The goal today was to find all the series as I drove around but after a DNF on one I decided to skip a few for a later trip but managed to find all but about 6 and enjoyed the variety of hides around the area. All caches found are in good condition.

Today with the weather not looking so bright in Launceston seemed like a good idea to head to the north west for a full days caching. Started in Latrobe before heading west and finding myself in penguin then detouring back home via penguin and 2 caches in Launceston to top off a long day out. Total of 66 finds and 15 labs for the day

Thanks for the cache

We had planned to meet Tassie Trekkers and whitewebbs in Penguin to find a few caches we all wanted to tick off. That was before the Penguin geoart appeared! Now we had an even bigger incentive to visit my favourite northwest town, but we had to work through all the puzzles first. Some were fairly easy but we struggled with many, all the while enjoying the challenge.
The challenge of finding them all was just as interesting due to some clever hides and muggle activities closer to town. In some cases we were able to grab caches from under their noses without them realising!
Thank you TasCoders for creating this series at just the perfect time for our geocaching holiday to Tassies 'Gold Coast'.
After a toilet stop back it town, it was time to tackle the ones over the highway. The kids had had enough by now so I jumped in with whitewebbs for the rest of the day and they (with the egg) slowly made their way to Stanley.

28-Dec-20
Today we explored Penguin and Wynyard with whitewebbs and gooseandegg collecting caches along the way which were solved ready for this adventure and this was one of them, an excellent series.

Cache and contents were in good condition.

Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment, an enjoyable day with great company.

28-Dec-20
Today was the day to cache in Penguin with Tassie Trekkers and gooseandegg and this was one of the caches we found. It has been such a long time since we have all cached together, probably at the OZGM at Cataract Park last July so it was great to be out doing a caching run. Now before we could do the caching run we had to solve an excellent series of puzzles. Some were easy and some stretched the grey cells but we managed to get them all solved to add another 33 caches to the long list of "to do" caches we already had but we were very pleased we did as the hides were excellent, the geoart fantastic and we enjoyed reading the information on the penguins. A job well done which should attract a lot of cachers to the area. TFTP

This is another interesting penguin. Our daughter has some great photos of the colonies she has visited and we particularly like the males with the eggs on their feet. The young are such cute fluff balls but according to our daughter they tend to bully their parents.

The puzzle was a straight forward solve with a little extra twist. We were glad to see the checkers green tick. At GZ Mrs Y'stassie did her usual circuit and spotted the hide. She needed Mr Y'stassie to assist with returning the container to its secure hide. The log book was blank so another {FTF} at 16:44.

Thanks for yet another cache in this series TasCoders. We enjoy finding good sized cache containers in this type of place.
