Great Northern escape 2022 Day 4. Townsville Mega section Day 4. The drive continued from Emerald to Townsville, via Clermont and Charters towers. There is a long stretch of nothing in there, and I had no caches to do till Charters towers. Here I did labs and where-i-gos. I even managed to meet a few fellow traveling cachers before moving on to my lodging in Townsville, time for a swim after setting up !
I really should check logs before getting out for a look. I hope it can be put back for my next visit.
Thanks.

Could not find the cache. The photos showed clearly where it was but no luck for us today
Coongoola & Geodog are on an adventure travelling to the Townsville event in Qld. We didn't find your cache today, 3 April 2022 3:57 pm , while enjoying another day out adding to our tally. Lots of dogs barking at us from nearby homes made us decide to not hang about too long.TFTC EatSleepCacheOnline
Well prepared I brought my ladder down to this cache. Not really necessary but I used it anyway. A friendly neighbour appeared when I was up in the tree. He was familiar with caching, but hasn’t done it for quite some time. So I invited him to the upcoming events and the mega. Will see.
The log was very hard to get out of the container unfortunately, despite the container being very nice. Also not sure how long this cache might last, since this must have been the smallest branch of them all and I was afraid to break it when screwing it back together.
Before the end of the year I wanted to get some more caches done to boost my stats a little more and to finally get out there and grab some boxes after having had a bit of a break the last two months. In fact, I would like to clear most of the caches I have not found so far in Charters Towers today. Thank you very much EatSleepCacheOnline for placing this cache. All caches around Charters Towers have a nice little rural spin to them and I really enjoyed driving around and seeing a lot of nice things today. Thanks for the cache and showing this area.

Today was the day to turn that frown upside down. Took a bit to spot and definitely in a different spot to the original. Thanks to ESCO for the hide.
Found this one at dusk, more luck than anything else.
But they say luck comes with practice
Thank you for hiding this geocache EatSleepCacheOnline

Thanks to the wonderful Greencordial and Greyfire this cache is back up and running - enjoy
I’m claiming this one, I think it will be okay with ESCO. Reason 1: we helped replace container using COs supplies.
Reason 2: I did some CITO whilst grey replaced
Reason 3: everyone else does it.
Thanks so much for letting us keep this one alive Ms ESCO. You are a gem!

Grey nomads, after spending way too much time in Far North Queensland, starting now to wend our way via the Gregory Dev Road to the South. Not many caches for us to collected allong the way, caching with a caravan in tow is not that easy. Always on the lookout for a cache where it is easy to pull over.....
But now we are in Charters Towers, and beadling around doing the Adventure Labs, as well as the touristy things. Having a ball.
Tonight, we decided to go up Tower Hill to watch the sun set, with a bit of time to kill, chased a couple of caches to fill in time.
Arrived at GZ, only to discovour that we needed climbing skills. Now, as a couple of elder geocachers, we don't do more than 2.5 T rating, so this one was out of our league. Oh, well there are other fish (caches) in the sea. WE are not desperate.

The second dnf for the afternoon. Looked high, noticed the string in a nearby tree, someone may have had ballons hanging off it. TFTC
Having visually sighted this cache on a previous attempt, I return better equiped to access and sign the log, only to discover it appears to be missing.
Unfortunately this is a DNF today, I have found it from the ground previous but didn't have the tree climbing skills, brought the tree climber with me this time but can't even find from ground this time.
Day 18 of my trip north from Adelaide.
Today was spent caching and sightseeing around Charters Towers. I had picked out the multis, puzzles, wherigos and traditional caches that I was keen to do and picked ip a few other opportunistic traditional caches along the way. I also completed the new Lab caches in town.
All in all it was as a very pleasant day, with a cool morning and a relatively mild day, which made things much easier and more enjoyable. In all I managed to find 7 puzzles, 9 multis, 3 wherigos, 12 traditionals and an earthcache for a total of 32?caches for the day ples the Lab caches). I only had one DNF.
I spent a good bit of time trying to spot this cache from the ground. I even tried climbing the tree a few different ways to see if I could spot it from a different perspective. Unfortunately I just couldn’t see it.

BlackPearl and I were drawn back to the Towers by the influx of new caches 2 years since our last visit.
Nice little climb for me while BlackPearl rested below.
Thanks ESCO.

Noticed a few new ones in town so ducked out to grab this one with Geo_Hunter07.
Always liked this little park but haven't been here for years...
Apparently..... some bad kids used to wag year 12 classes a fair bit and this was one of the alternative classrooms they found to hang out in and do the things you definatley don't want your own kids doing....

Spotted from the ground before attempting to climb the tree. To do so otherwise would have been silly. Certainly a pleasant little park that anyone would be happy to have named in their honour. Nice tree climb you’ve added to your caching hide collection. Cheers EatSleepCacheOnline. Now to see if i get wet on the way back to Townsville on the bike
FTF, noticed this listing before lunch and had a look and spotted the container but the selected tool had some short comings. After yard work and Saturday chores we returned before 5pm with the tool purchased for exactly this kind of task. Just reached and Mrs CNQ signed the log, Thanks for a new local cache ESCO, we had not been to this nice, but obscure little park since September 2012.
