A circuit is this area on a beautifully fine sunny day after a very wet few weeks is throwing up some interesting Market research for the suitability of plastic containers! I’m not usually a brand kind of a girl but I have to say the systema containers have all been dry and all the other plastic lunchbox type containers have been very wet.
Dried this one else best I could in the sun in the wind

Actual plans to be undertaken outside of the ACT were dashed thanks to that thing that keeps on giving in the past year or two so I was left with a spare day and what's more it was a spare day during nice weather (a rarity these days it seems). Definitely some tops views to be had along these trail on such a day. Most found quickly and easily.

Today we were tackling more of the caches up on The Ridge and this was the next on the list So after descending from the previous cache we continued along the track. Really DSD?? the hint??? Another Sunday had come around, so our small group formed up for another visit to Coolamon Ridge. We hit twelve caches today that I had not done before whilst walking too far and up and down too many slopes. There are some great views from some of the places along here, and the newish lookout was a favorite spot for the day.

Thanks for the cache DARKSIDEDAN

A long weekend and georges Canberra winter weather, while there was lots of work/school/house work we just had to plan a hike this weekend and zeroed on on Cooleman ridge as the prefect spot.
Lots of new caches since our last visit and as allways great views to the hills and mountains from there. Wilma loves it. I was happy with all the finds and Dino was happily in tow. Hoppy for that matter couldn't imagine a better afternoon spend. (Poor Pebbles had to stay home, too sikc to hike)
Cache wise we cleaned out the northern half of the reserve, no DNFs 12 quick finds finds and a wonderful hike. We will be back for the southern half.

Quick find, nice cache, all in good order.

Thank you DARKSIDEDAN for putting the cache out and maintaining it.

I ended up getting stuck behind a group of hikers after the last cache so had to wait for a bit to duck over to this one. Cache was quickly in hand once there. TFTC!

Grateful thanks to CO for placing and maintaining the caches to entertain me on my journey.

Found it along with a huge huntsman...

28-Dec-20
Decided to try for a long caching hike today, so headed out with a bag full of swag, two cans of Diet Coke, and 700ml of water. We hadn't expected it to be so hot (the forecast got it wrong - surprise!) so had to ration the drinks. 4.5 hours after we set out, we arrived back at the car, hot, tired and covered in grass seeds (for the most part, the grass was taller than Saf!), but glad to have added so many smilies to our list. We left either Ooshies, safety whistles, or Simpsons Lego minifigs in each one that could fit swag.

This one was a nice quick find. TFTC! Smile

22,242. Found during a lovely afternoon meander around Cooleman Ridge with minniek.

We enjoyed our walk around here last Monday so decided to come back to knock off another section along Cooleman Ridge. Parked at a now familiar gate and headed off up then down the tracks to this. Once again I'm so glad I've got my Gaitors as the grass is head high. Quick find at GZ. A nicely set up cache with great views ! Signed the log, replaced the cache, then continued along the track to the next one.

Thanks DSD !!

Out with Green Martian. Thanks for the hide.

10-Oct-20
Cooleman ridge is a hidden gem down south, a walkers paradise with no crowds to contend with, unlike mount Taylor nearby, where push and shove is the norm. But it also happens to encourage cachers to keep placing more and more caches due to its vast expanse so I was back again today with Jondub and muggle bro Duff. The views here are A+. Tftc

Cache 6500 on 22 Sep 2020.

After a session at the gym this morning and a very early morning FTF, I decided more exercise was in order and targeted the last unfound caches I know of on Cooleman Ridge. Found seven caches all up in the space of an hour, with over 3kms of walking on a gorgeous spring morning, then back home by 11am for a hearty breakfast!

I had come down the hill and through the gate to the track, and for a few moments thought the cache was on the other side of the fence! Fortunately it was not, and the swear words in my head dissipated!

Thanks DARKSIDEDAN for the cache and the fun!

Saw my first Muggles of the day around here, a big difference to yesterday when the place was crawling with them, bikers, dog walkers, dads and families - good to know somebody is out there earning a quid!! Cache all good, thanku.

F(H)ound It! #3743 @ 10:20 AM

A perfect Canberra winter day for some geocaching on the Ridge with Noikmeister and the Ridgeopup.

I thought this was going to be a bit more difficult to find than it was.
While we were signing the log the puppy came past again for another pat from NM.

Thanks DARKSIDEDAN

7th find while out for a caching walk with [@Goldenwattle](http://coord.info/PR70JXN), [@binliner](http://coord.info/PR2XFEC) and [@Decrypter](http://coord.info/PR75QXD). B had already found this one so he left the rest of us to find it. Once at GZ we quickly had CIH. Log stamped and signed and all replaced and we headed back, taking the path over the ridge. We saw a mob of kangaroos on our way and a couple of workmen spraying weeds. All up we walked almost 4km. TFTC.

06-Aug-20
With the cold and rain forecast (snow mentioned too for some places), it was great to be able to get in this walk with Decrypter, Trodectus & Binliner, before that arrives. Today was lovely and sunny. This was our seventh and last find today. TFTC DARKSIDEDAN.

01-Aug-20
Out with Aquilus1 and Tankengine on a cold a damp morning. We had a number of caches to get today. We had a good day and by the time we were finished it was right in time for lunch where we met up with another caching friend for a very yummy, warm lunch.

We all had a cache or two to pick up around here. I of course had heaps to get, Aquilus1 and Tankengine really only had a couple or none. So a big thank you to them for taking me out here for a lovely and much needed walk. The best part about this series is they AREN'T up stupid trees! Tftc DARKSIDEDAN!!!

After climbing up and around Cotter Dam early afternoon we decided to pick up three caches at the back of Chapman to round out our exercise program before heading home.

We walked briskly over 47 minutes for a distance of 2.81km with total of 114m ascent/descent. Quick and easy find with lovely views over the mountain. TFTC DARKSIDEDAN.

Coolaman Ridge has been a place I have visited many times before for the caches up the way, and as many times as I have come, there was also so many more up this way. Today with GreyHams we came to tackle them all and a two car set up worked well allowing us to zig zag as needed all the way across to the ones we both had... without the long walk back!

I have always loved the stunning views from this part of Canberra over the ranges and on a beautiful day as it was, it was quite pleasant to be walking along through the area... made for another very nice day out.

Thanks for your cache that helped lead us through the area, all caches targeted found without issue and all in good condition. No doubt we will be back for others as they pop up but it is a lovely area to return to!

24-May-20
Very windy out along the ridge this morning. Another little find. TFTC DSD

24-May-20
I have been kind of putting off Cooleman Ridge for a long time as the geofamily occasionally ask me for a nice nearby caching walk....but then they see the hills and balk at the idea.... so, as of this morning there are 16 hides up their waiting for me.

There clearly a few more coming.... 3 or 4, but never mind, they will keep for the next 6-12 months....maybe I will save them for a family walk.

Today I was out with Aquilus1 again, on a beautiful day. A little windy perhaps but it was just so nice out there.

This morning I thought I'd explore the northern part of Cooleman Ridge. It got a bit blustery at times, but luckily the rain held off. A great morning picking up more caches. Thank you again DSD - this series seems to have proliferated rapidly over the last few days!

**This Cache:**

Another nice and easy placement in Cooleman Ridge to add to the hike through here, lot's to pick up both on and off paths! A huge area that has been popular when we visited during the pandemic! Thanks Dan

---

**Placement:**

I was present in the placement of this cache during a multi-month expedition of planned out hides with DARKSIDEDAN. Many caches were hidden over the course of several months, and the listings were slowly brainstormed and created during a time when no caches were being published. I have logged this find on the date I was at the GZ location. Many of these date's I also found older caches hidden by other CO's which have been previously logged.

I hope everyone also enjoy's some of the challenging caches and unique locations that were picked out, as well as those that are more accessible, it was great to hide a multitude of types to accomodate to the way's people enjoy to cache!

Thanks DSD for allowing me to assist! And well done on the huge effort you go to in hiding caches and keeping our community active! Big Grin
