Possibly washed away in the floods

Believe it was washed away in the floods. Looked for a good 30 mins with 2 of us and no finds

I don't usually spend a long time out on the bike in summer, but today was a nice cold wet day. Wink I started at Samford fairly early this morning and arrived back just after lunch. It rained on me several times but that just helped keep me cool, and I pedaled just over 40km for the morning.

No luck for me either, but it was a great ride all the way along this trail. Cool

22-Jun-22
Very sadly, I arrived at the amended coords today and found the obvious GZ, but no tool was evident and no cache appeared despite my “full” effort.
I suggest that either there has been vandalism in this very lonely spot or much more likely, a flood has come through and extracted the tool and cache all by itself.
Sorry for the bad news.

Such a lovely spot, I used to bring my dog down to this creek but have since forgotten it. Enjoyed the cache and glad I brought a buddy with me! Log was wet and mouldy so couldn’t sign and didn’t have a spare bit of paper with me. Took a photo instead of signing my name

Out finding a few caches with Mr CuriousQuest. I parked the geomobile and we headed to this cache. The outer container was spotted once we widened our search from where both our phones were putting GZ. Mr CuriousQuest took the supplied tool. A bit of teamwork and the cache was in hand. We added our names to the log and returned everything as found. TFTC

Very tricky, needs new notepad, coordinates seemed to be off a bit though but It was not too hard to find once we found the trail. Thanks for the cache

Today, I joined Beardman75, GurTheWanderer, and karicka, as we targeted a few high terrain geocaches hiking up Mount Kobble followed by Mount Samson. We returned back to Samford for a bakery lunch, when a few of us spent the early afternoon walking around Samford completing the *Samford Village Heritage Tour* Wherigo, and a few other caches in the vicinity. A hot and humid day for the morning, but at least the rain held off for it to turn out to be a nice spring day.

Both karicka and I thought we'd end our group adventure at this geocache today, so we parked off a nearby side street, and made the short walk into this little bushland and creek area to grab this cache. We ended up spending ages in searching around, as we arrived at GZ, and then started to look around. Our coordinates were wandering around slightly, but we couldn't find any decent sized container, not something that we were expecting for this field puzzle. We found a few past photos that we were trying to match up, and we were trying to go cross-eyed in matching trees and branches in the background with what was before us. We were just about to give up, and continued to expand our search, and wouldn't you know it, we found the cache about 20 m away from the posted coordinates! For the record, my GPS had the cache more likely at S 27° 21.997' E 152° 52.515'.

The field puzzle was relatively straight forward, and it was a good thing that there were two of us here to work together. We brought with us a few TOTTs to assist, and it only required one fill before the inner cache popped out. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks curlyfettucini for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

After a visit to the Dayboro Mega event I had some extra time on my hands so I called in to a few caches on the drive back home, including this one.

I spent quite a while sitting in the car, out of the rain waiting for muggles to clear the area. A couple were playing with dogs on the grassy area, and a large family had decided to take a walk in the rain rather than snuggling up in the dry eating their chocolate eggs.

Eventually the coast had cleared and I was able to duck off into the bush in search of the cache hide. Took a while to find GZ - some reading of the previous logs directed me back to where I needed to be. Once there I had to improvise a helping hand as I was on my own. It took a few attempts and trips to the creek to get everything working properly and for the cache to pop its head up. Mission eventually accomplished and my name was signed in the logbook. TFTC.

Craziest geocache ever. Love it. Solved and retrieved and signed. TFTC

Well. After 30mins of getting confused as to what was or was not the right coordinates, we finally found what we came for. Admittedly I’m fairly new to this world and therefore naive, but still not too dim. Once I found the cache I knew immediately what to do and had a chuckle.
Here’s a tip... the photo is not the cache.
Have fun!

New paper and plastic bag added.... hopefully it survives!

Ps loved this adventure!!

Really awesome cache. Whole family loved this one and a few laughs were had to try to retrieve it.

Appreciate the effort. Log and replacement paper are very wet. Signed as best we could.

20-Dec-20
Great idea, loved getting to this one! But it’s waterlogged beyond signing. We’ve put a dry piece of paper in but it’s prob not going to stay that way long. TFTC

Returning to this today to avenge a prior DNF. Given I'd tried and failed before, I thought it would be easier if I bought along an adult to supervise me. And then, as things transpired, Pprime decided to keep me company. Oh well, a big kid will work just as well :p.

Arriving at GZ today, I had read prior logs, and had a better idea of where the cache might be. There is a lot of bounce down here, so I wasn't surprised when I located the cache 24m from where the GPSr was pointing me. Oh dear, that is nowhere near where I was searching last time!

However, success today makes it worth it Smile It is such a beautiful location, down by the riverbank, and in the shade of some lovely huge trees. I was happy to stop for a moment and simply enjoy it. Smell the roses, as ruzzelz would say.

Thanks curlyfettucini for a great cache!

09-Sep-20
dragged along, kicking and screaming, against my will - forced to go geocaching in a beautiful location on my way towards work? (Nah, I don't sound convincing do I?). Another wonderful weird Wednesday walk before work and apparently this one needs my assistance to find? Well, actually it doesn't since OBC can find it without me it seems, but it sure was easier to get to the logbook with two of us. So, turns out I was needed afterall.

There is a lot of bounce down here, but I too was some 25m or so away from GZ, but on my map it looked about what the cache page shows - off the corner of that path ... try there. But really, such a lovely spot, who wouldn't want to be wandering around down here anyway?

Cache found and left in great condition, a nicely constructed piece of work.

Thanks curlyfettucini for entertaining me at this location.
Cool *{Overall find #8044}* Cool

Found with bennyboppers today. Lovely little area and nice set up here and everything on hand to make the retrival easy. Tftc

05-Sep-20
This is the most awesome cache we have ever done! Make sure you don't just hike down all the way through the bush (a bit further along there is a dirt path, see photo). The log book is wet and probably needs to be put in something more waterproof. Bring your own pen. Love the creativity! TFTC

29-Aug-20
Fabulous location. Really enjoyed our visit! Glad we had two people!

17-Aug-20
Oh, what fun! And decidedly easier with two people, if somewhat awkward in terms of access! We followed a path almost all the way to GZ, grined at the container, set about performing the necessary task and voila! Rewarded with a slightly damp logbook. Favourite point from me - I do enjoy this type!
TFTC, curlyfettucini. =^.^=

14-Aug-20
We attempted this one a while ago but found the wrong track. That one had a great crossing though so we skimmed some stones and had fun anyway.

Today it was an easy find at the updated coords. Used an old trick to make the cache easier to grab. Might need some waterproof paper in the log, it's getting rather damp.

#9172. Thanks for giving us a reason to visit, **curlyfettucini**. Our log is trackable, mention this cache.

What a lovely quiet serene spot by the SP river. Tool a while to locate by previous logs have a hint that led to the cache being spotted easily . Being the soul responsible for plugging the hole I was glad TeamARF had brought plenty of BR water as after some pouring I heard water and realised there were two holes! Once both were plugged up popped the cache ! Very clever!

09-Aug-20
Lugged 5 liters of water to this spot, not trusting the fickle nature of Aust water courses to actually carry water. My other option was to consume a dozen schooners of the amber nectar before heading here. Luckily the left side of the brain won out as navigating myself here while inebriated would not have guaranteed a steady stream at the end of the journey. That and it took so long for the GPS to settle to even find the yard glass, I would have ended up sober.

As with all good fairy tales, there was a happy ending to this story and I even had enough BR water left to put some back into the hydrological cycle, circumventing the need for a trip to the trough, the old beer treatment centre then a trip to the heavens to start the cycle again. Thanks curlyfettucini for bring me to a lovely spot and worth a FP.

We love these sorts of caches. We recently completed another one like this close to home. We were out and about with Hallysgirl this afternoon for some caching fun. Found after following the trail into the bush and came out at a wonderful creek. Having read previous logs we knew the GPS might take us somewhere else so we put our phones away and started to search. A quick find and on we started to recover the cache. Funnily enough it wasn't until we were on our way home that we realised there was an easier way but I think our method caused more laughter and fun than the easy way. Luckily we had friend with us to help as well.. Thank you for bringing us to this awesome little hide away. We love Samford already but this was a completely new and unexplored area for us. Cant wait to come back to walk around a bit more. The kids loved the ponies in a yard up the road too.

Out for a couple of caches on a Sunday afternoon to wrap up the cache. Had a good look at map before we left, and knew how to get most of the way there, as the 8yo is not a verified navigator as yet. Pulled up near the track and we set off with bike and dog for an interesting challenge. We found the cache with not too much difficulty, and worked out quickly what needed to be done. Luckily assistant with nimble fingers helped with this challenge. Pretty soon we were holding the cache and signing the log. A little damp, so ensured everything was secured prior to returning as we had found.
All good with this cache, great construction and thanks very much for the effort Curlyfettucini.

Being alone, I had to MacGyver this hide to get at the cache, so it took a few goes before I had it at hand. Luckily there was plenty of "bits" about for an effective solution.

Like previous finders I found the coordinates to be out, I took these coordinates (averaged for about 5 minutes)
S27 21.998, E152 52.519

Thanks Smile

10-Jun-20
Found at S 27° 21.995 E 152° 52.525, ~8 m out.

Given the amount of tree cover and therefore expected GPS bounce, not sure if my coordinates would help much. I didn't have any trouble following the geo-trail and finding the cache quickly.

I didn't bring a friend but I brought along extra equipment I knew I needed and there were plenty of helpers at GZ.

Very nice construction. TFTC.

Cache is a good 16 m out, and I would suggest an update on the co-ords PLEASE. We spent ages wandering around looking in the wrong place - nearly 30 mins. Previous finder to us didn't find it. We had actually given up and I wandered on over to the red chair and what looked like a hang out and there the cache was. It is a fun cache and will be great if everyone can have the chance of finding it and doing it. Our family would have been disappointed it we came here and left with a DNF. We had brought in a big item to help with retrieval and that was so essential. Mr EMC did the fetch and carry and Mrs EMC put hands where they were needed. So much fun to see the cache appear. Great work on a fun hide. (Sorry we didn't get closer co-ords for you - I thought at that time it was just our GPS - I don't have internet whilst out so didn't see any previous logs. At home now on my laptop I see that others have found the cache to be out as well). Thanks for the fun.

Nope, couldn't find this one today. Needed to head back to a work meeting so didn't spend too long here.

Popped back to check on this cache.
Still all good.
The only thing that would make it better would be a trackable ...

21-May-20
The phone wasn't getting the best reception in here but finally spied what we were looking for with almost everything we needed on-site. Very glad there were two of us as it made things much easier in that respect. Cache retrieved, log signed and we were back on the road. Thanks curlyfettucini.

21-May-20
This one was harder to find than retrieve for us! We were returning to the path from where our GPS had put GZ when we finally found it, about 15m closer to the path. I have done a couple of these retrievals before but this is the first one that had the required tool included and it made things much easier so thank you for that curlyfettucini. Glad The Marble was with me else it could have been tricky indeed.

12-May-20
Today T-Tech had to go to the Mt Glorious radio site, so I kept him company on the drive out and back. While he was working I toodled off to Samford and Draper to gather two caches.

I hadn't looked at the Description here, but on parking the car for the walk in to GZ, it suddenly occurred to me that I might be woefully under-prepared! A quick read had me reassured all should be available, but ooohh, that Teamwork attribute might make things tricky!

There's a nice track most of the way in and I soon spied the container. A bit of head scratching happened, but yeah, I reckon I can manage all that... My first attempt went reasonably well but upon realising it'd need a bit more, there was nothing for it but to go back to the car for "reinforcements" Razz Attempt number two worked, and everything held while i fetched a top-up, and the container neatly came to hand. A fun little adventure, so have a favourite point. TFTC, curlyfettucuni.

Yay !!! I love this cache.
Great fun for the kids.
Went Mother’s Day caching w ninjakelpie & JeTtYJEt

Note. Our GPS were all out by 15-20m, but it’s a pretty easy find, retrieving it took a few goes.

Thanks CurlyFettucini

I took the girls for a lunchtime break from home schooling to check out this new fun cache in the area. They loved it and thought it was pretty cool and the team work required made them think a little. It was fun for me to watch them and the reactions.
Once the issues were solved we managed to get the cache out and the log signed. Thank you for the activity and the time to show the girls a new spot and that caching is not all bush bashing, lol.
A FP from us. Thank you.
