Out for a walk with a non-caching friend. I was pretty keen to get some caches on both hills here, and my friend obliged and agreed to follow me to this cache. However, I don't think he was too impressed with the bush-bashing I made him do, and he did not want me to make him go off the path again. Once at GZ, it was a quick and easy find (and an explanation of what a geocache was). Thank you DSD for the cache!
Found whilst out and about with fitzy_1965 today.Nice to finally be out and getting my fitness up after a terrible last year. Thanks for placing this cache.
34,100. Found with minniek during a meander around Mt Arawang and region. This cluster of caches had been on our list to do for a while. Today we did a circuit and went up and over for most of the available caches. Not long from the previous find we arrived at this one. We certainly know all the tracks around here after today. A quick find at GZ. Stamped the log, replaced the cache as found, then continued on our journey around the area. Thanks DSD !!
Nice quick find and second last one on Arawang for today. Also the last Mythological Monster for today. All good with the cache. Thanks DSD --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------In the spirit of reconciliation we would like to acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of country on which we geocache throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea and community. We (the pants people) pay our respects to their Elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.
As our walk around this mountain continued, so too did our knowledge of mythological monsters. This one was new for us. An Ammit!
Log signed and then we continued a walk down on the flight to Firetrail back towards our car.
Thanks Darksidedan

I've got a day off work - yay - so I thought I'd get a cache a bit further afield.
It's lovely here - steep, but lovely - and there are few birds and Roos around. Some Finches that were too quick to ID, and a Grey Shrike-thrush.
Of course I managed to do this the hard way that included copious amounts of Blackberries, before changing tack and doing it a safer way.

Found on a big day walking Cooleman Ridge. Instead of walking to the top of the hill and then down, my tired legs could only handle taking the long way and walking around the base of the hill. A huge effort to climb the last 100m, then cutting across 30m to GZ for a quick find. The Sistemas in this series have kept nice and dry compared to the other ones. TFTC DSD and thanks for your caches in this area, it was a beautiful walk (especially with the morning fog) and it's put me very close to cracking my 8000 milestone!
Grabbing some caches on this nice early morning with Wilbert67.
This is a very nice area.

A beautiful morning walk up down and around the mountain with J+J.AU that turned into a couple of hrs. Weather started out great for the day and turned pretty warm later on. All caches found fairly easy.

#1593 A morning of caching around and over Mt Arawang. This was number one for the day and a nice easy find. Cheers.
After a long week at home working, the opposite of fun, I found a few trips to make over the long weekend. After yesterdays walk around Coolamon Ridge, I felt I should visit some of the ground based caches in the area that the others have already done. This one missed out on yesterdays walk as it was felt it should be done from below. I think that was the correct choice, but it was far enough up the hill for great views and a challenging climb.
Thanks for the cache DARKSIDEDAN

Dropped by for an afternoon walk. Some nice rocks around here. My daughter grabbed the pull apart eraser.
Thanks for the cache DSD.
Thanks for the cache DSD.
Today I adventured out for only the fourth time, on Lockdown Day 15, for a much needed hour of exercise. Lucky for me this area is within my radius.Bonus!
Logs all in good condition unless otherwise noted.
Thanks to the COs for putting out and maintaining all of these caches for our enjoyment!

A nice family outing for exercise on a glorious sunny winter/spring like day on Cooleman ridge.
The aim was to give Hoppy a nice outing, get our heart rate up and collect some last caches out this end of the ridge.
Quick find, cache (and accompanying football) was a bit too much in the open so covered a bit better, all in good order.
Thank you DARKSIDEDAN for putting the cache out and maintaining it.

Found this nice Cache together with Dino and Flintstones. Thank you for putting it out and maintaining it DARKSIDEDAN.
It's been a while since we've been on Cooleman Ridge, and we noticed there were four new ones since we were there last. So we took The Woofer for a chilly morning walk. We found 4 of 4, and left a squishy mochie animal in each one.
This was the first find today, and it was a welcome break from huffing up the hill! No problems - log was nice and dry. TFTC!

After completing the other caches around I realised I'd have to climb back up a little of the way to find this one. Steep incline but quickly found once there, thanks to the help of a random footy on top. Tftc
A nice walk around, up and over the hill to grab these caches. All found OK.
Thanks
Thanks
Out for a quick afternoon walk with my daughter. Prepping for a Venturers night.
Beware of the overgrown blackberry bushes, ouch! Good little find and left some treasures behind!
This was the last cache on Cooleman Ridge today for Decrypter and I. I think this might have been the cache we found hidden with a football poked in beside it. Cache and log were again good. TFTC DARKSIDEDAN.
Walked up to trig, enjoyed the views then down to this cache. A AFL ball was tucked nearby. Tftc
Took a short afternoon constitutional around the mound and to pick up a few nearby caches. All found easily.
This is the last one on the ridge for me - now maybe my knees will have a chance to recover. The vegetation is quite different here, not nearly as appealing as previous sites but there is a nice convenient rock to sit on and have a cuppa and contemplate my navel. The sound of traffic is still quite loud and a persistent Maggie kept trying to sneak up behind me and steal some yum yums. A few more dogs around, not all of them on leads......Thanks for the series, DSD
Wow this is my first time join goecoach this and been taking ages for me find it
Out for my Saturday afternoon constitutional to regain fitness after knee replacement surgery.
Great afternoon!
I am Grumpy!

As I drove down the Tuggeranong Parkway yesterday, I was taken by the sight of snow on the Brindabellas. So I took a diversion at Sulwood Drive, parked next to Mt Arawang, grabbed my camera and went to the trig marker for a photo. See attached.
My GPS was also in my camera bag and alerted me to this cache which I picked up on the way down. It was a straightforward find. TFTC

Having to head out to the shops still this Saturday evening, I made only a very short walk around the nearest hill of Coleman Ridge. There were two caches in the Myth Monsters series I hadn't yet got here, which made for a fun diversion.
Thanks for the caches!

A longer walk to the next cache but this is last one on this side of the reserve. Quick and easy find at GZ. TFTC DARKSIDEDAN.
**Our Day**
Today was for relaxing but we still wanted to get some exercise mid afternoon to keep the body well oiled.
We looked for an accumulation of caches to again determine our circuit that had to include distance, climbing, more climbing , rock hoping and a cross country obstacle course. The good views and beautiful landscape would be a bonus. Yet again, DSD provided us with the goods so we headed in the direction of Chapman 'Cooleman Ridge Nature Reserve' and we were not disappointed. Walked 5.11km just under 2 hrs with 254m ascent/descent in crisp and sometimes windy conditions and watched the rain come across the Brindabellas as we were finishing up for the day. A favourite point for all his caches found today will be placed on the multicache 'Krytios - The Unbreakable Code' for the fun climb using the natural rock TOTT at GZ.

Tftc! A lovely view from halfway up the mountain! Agree with AngelG, lots of rocks hereabouts
Cache 6249 on 19 Jun 2020.
After a week of working from home I felt the need to grab a few caches, and since it was a gorgeous day, arranged with the boss to have this afternoon off. Decided to focus on Cooleman Nature Reserve as there were a few caches in the vicinity that I could grab on a round trip. Managed to score nine caches for the afternoon in glorious weather. I really like caching with other people, but it was nice to head out by myself too. Lots of kangaroos and black wallabies spotted. Walked on paths, tracks, footpads and desire trails - really enjoyed the exercise and the lovely views from all over!
Fourth of the afternoon and even after coming down from the top of the ridge, there were still nice views from GZ. The hint was not super helpful (!) as there lots of rocks, but still a quick find for a cacher knowing what they are looking for!
Thanks DARKSIDEDAN for the cache and the fun!

Today's mission was to cycle along the Canberra Centennial Trail on Cooleman Ridge picking up all the caches in the area. For this one, I had to hop off the bike and dash up the hill a bit. Cache easily found. TFTC.

Short detour off the track on the way up to the trig. Had to sign my name with a stick. TFTC
Coolaman Ridge has been a place I have visited many times before for the caches up the way, and as many times as I have come, there was also so many more up this way. Today with GreyHams we came to tackle them all and a two car set up worked well allowing us to zig zag as needed all the way across to the ones we both had... without the long walk back!
I have always loved the stunning views from this part of Canberra over the ranges and on a beautiful day as it was, it was quite pleasant to be walking along through the area... made for another very nice day out.
Thanks for your cache that helped lead us through the area, all caches targeted found without issue and all in good condition. No doubt we will be back for others as they pop up but it is a lovely area to return to!

I have been kind of putting off Cooleman Ridge for a long time as the geofamily occasionally ask me for a nice nearby caching walk....but then they see the hills and balk at the idea.... so, as of this morning there are 16 hides up their waiting for me.
There clearly a few more coming.... 3 or 4, but never mind, they will keep for the next 6-12 months....maybe I will save them for a family walk.
Today I was out with Aquilus1 again, on a beautiful day. A little windy perhaps but it was just so nice out there.

Chooo ooo [FTF] for May! Wow - I'm so excited - I honestly thought my FTF streak was going to be broken! So happy they started publishing again this month, as otherwise it would have!
This was a lovely location! Thanks for the cache DSD.

**This Cache:**
Stumbled across these large rocks while scouting out areas and thought it was a good location. A perfect nook was found and this cache was born! Thanks
---
**Placement:**
I was present in the placement of this cache during a multi-month expedition of planned out hides with DARKSIDEDAN. Many caches were hidden over the course of several months, and the listings were slowly brainstormed and created during a time when no caches were being published. I have logged this find on the date I was at the GZ location. Many of these date's I also found older caches hidden by other CO's which have been previously logged.
I hope everyone also enjoy's some of the challenging caches and unique locations that were picked out, as well as those that are more accessible, it was great to hide a multitude of types to accomodate to the way's people enjoy to cache!
Thanks DSD for allowing me to assist! And well done on the huge effort you go to in hiding caches and keeping our community active!
