Dear Geochachers, I regret to announce the end of the Birrarung Code Geocache. The area has been subjected to flooding quite often affecting the container significanlty multiple times. Despite the spot was perfect to tell a story in an interactive manner, it resulted to be challenging for the required special container. I would like to thank all the adventurers that visited the area expressing their appreciation and giving precious advice to improve the experience. A special thank also to the reviewer of this cache that become soon a valid collaborator. Finally, I hope that the cache served his purpose of telling the legend of the Birrarung togheter with many anothers along the same pathway. Until next time.Happy Geocahing,Imprimago.
So for starters, we came down here in car, which took us to the wrong side of the lake! We parked near the dog center and walked down fine. Once we found the cache, we tried the QR code and it didn't work! We sat there for 30 minutes trying to get on the app before just packing up and leaving. 3/10 cache.
Happy Halloween geocache replaced the logbook into the lock assumed it was supposed to be in there
Cool design! And a great part of the Yarra. I really enjoyed reading the info boards on the way to GZ. My only critique would be that the cache wasn't near the posted coords. A great experience otherwise. TFTC
Really brilliant! Had a fun time locating and cracking the code. Need to come back and sign the log book as we didnt have a pen.
Bea, nine, cracked the code and Edie, six, loved the story. One of the decorative tiles on the box has fallen off. We placed it in the box.
*Twelfth Day Of Cachemas Adventure #8*
Out for a pleasant day of caching on the bike. Although I'm getting hungry.
OMG! I overthought the code, and spent way to long on this.
Thanks heaps for the cache!

Not sure exactly how to use the code. Great find and great attachment to the environment
I figured out the code eventually.
I’ve left a few items in the cache, take ONE and open a whole other world of travel logging.

After dropping the kids off at grandma's (80 degrees) I headed out with Mrs trouble for an afternoon walk. Upon parking the car I decided to see what caches were in the area. Upon seeing this cache we made a A line for it.
Thanks for the effort and the challenge to be able access it.

Hard to find but got there in the end. Just have to think really hard when receiving the clue! Tftc!
Nifty little field puzzle!
We took our brollies just in case as it’s been an on and off day, and you guessed it as soon as we got to GZ it started to rain heavily.
So, our execution was undertaken under the cover of umbrellas!
TFTC.. a Favorite point for ingenuity!

A beautiful spot and an interesting story, thanks for bringing me and muggle partner here. I leave a trackable and a favourite point
This cache was a delight, a traditional with a custom-made container plus elements of a puzzle. I loved it and award it a fav point!
Geocaching is harder than easy. Worked out the code by logic but the lock was stiff and didn’t opn. Try wiggling it when you have a go!
FOUND IT! Best cache along the whole yarra. We had a DNF and asked the owner for a clue then went the next day and got stage one and the next stages were straightforward. Great cache! TFTC
Dear geocachers,
I am pleased to announce that the Birrarung Code is active again!
To thank for your support, I have placed a token of appreciation, some swags and a nice shiny trackable! I wish you good luck for your next adventure!

Dear Geocahers,
thanks for the appreciation you showed for the birrarung code cache!
I would like to give you an update regarding the maintanance progresses.
Tha area was flooded do to the heavy rains we had in Victoria in the past months.
Despite I was able to retrieve the cache it has been subjected to some issues.
Since it is a "special" container i am working on making a new one and replace it as soon as possible.
Thanks for your understanding.
Cheers!

Dear Adventurers, unfortunately the area is flooded. I hope to retrieve the cache once the area becomes accessible again. Thanks for visiting!
With the absolutely perfect weather we had today, I knew I had to get out to at least grab a few caches. What better area to enjoy the great weather than to have a walk along the Yarra in the Alphington area.
I arrived at GZ and it was only a few seconds or so before I saw something that looked suspicious, I then quickly had the cache container in hand, now...how do I get to the logbook.
An amazing container. I have never seen this style of container before. So cool, such above and beyond what could have been. I then pulled out my smart phone and obtained the required puzzle. Made the short walk over to obtain the required information in order to figure out how to open the cache. I think this was such a cool and unique container, definitely earns a favourite point from me. Thanks for the fun today and TFTC.
Cache Maintenance Status:
The cache container was in great shape, the puzzle was easily obtained with the correct TOTT, and the logbook was clean an dry with plenty of room for future cache finders to sign.
P.S. I left my favourite point pathtag for the CO!

That was a great walk and an a lot of fun to complete the puzzle. The container was out in the open so after I cracked the code I replaced it with a little more cover. Apart from that all was good here. Neat little box.
Took a couple of tries to get it right.I was overthinking it.
THanks for highlighting this area Imprimago

On a quick walk (well 5k) from Kew to the geocaching shop in Thornbury and caching along the way. Stopped for this one. What a fun field puzzle and interesting plaques about the local peoples. Thanks for bringing me here.
Super fun geocache, the clue was really hard at first but we thought about it and we got the code! Thanks heaps for this cache, definitely one of my favourite caches I’ve found.
Super fun geocache!!! The clue was was very hard but after thinking about it we got it. Thanks, this is one of my favourite geocaches.
Found at 1:52 pm.
Today I was out this way for the lead up event to Whittlesea Mega and the Doreen CITO. The weather at least held off for those events but it then drizzled heavily after finding this cache so I headed back towards home. The weather then cleared up so I stopped here.
I parked in the golf club which was a really bad idea so left there and found a parking spot elsewhere and deployed the scooter. A pleasant ride was had and the cache was found soon after arriving. A really nice container which I then proceeded to work out the field puzzle for and soon after the log was signed. Nicely done, a favourite from me.
Thanks Imprimago for the cache, the adventure, the hunt and the fun.

Nice hot day and a lovely secluded area (or so I thought). In the minute from when I reached GZ and opened the container a cyclist (in full gear!) and an old lady walked along the path, the long lady stopped to read the sign!
Beautiful spot and always nice to have a field puzzle to make things more interesting! Lucky enough to also spot the guide dogs in training nearby. TFTC

Woohoo tricky to find the exact cache and then the code added extra fun. Thanks!
What an awesome cache. Took a few heads to work out the puzzle but worth the effort.
Enjoyed this very much imprimatur thanks so much! Lovely cool day birds singing peaceful and quiet. Spot on coordinates. We didn't even need the hint on this one!

Taking the scenic route to our Bicycle User Group's annual end-of-year get-together, I checked out the new bike lanes and paths over the old Chandler Highway bridge before descending to the river's edge.
Well done on putting together a clever cache, Imprimago... a novel container and a great way of getting people to actually read signs and possibly learn about their surroundings.

Found it! Yay!! Finally found this one in a very obvious place that I just didn’t see for ages!! Muggle Heather helped with the technology and we soon had the log book in hand. Clever cache that gets you read the information!! TFTC SL
A very fun cache idea and well executed. All in good condition. Fave point from me. TFTC
Tftc. Amazing little spot. Took a bit of effort to get to with the rising water levels of the river. Great effort with the cache construction!
Thank you. A fun cache and easy to locate on a wet day with no muggles around. A simple enough puzzle and an interesting story to read.
Took a while to hide it back in its place with all the muggles walking and on their bikes.
This cache is comfortably within my 5km zone.
The weather was sunny so we donned our masks and started our daily ritual of exercising for the allotted 2 hours within out 5km zone. It has amazed us how much ground you can cover in that time. I have been meaning to grab this cache for a while but just haven't gotten around to it.
A quick find at the GZ...access to the log took a bit longer. TFTC.
(Hand sanitiser was use before and after handling the cache)

Found but my son was too distracting for the puzzle.. will address that next time..
I do love myself a cache that requires a field puzzle. A lovely crafted cache box as well.
Cache is safe and accessible from the east side of the path. Hope you will enjoy!
Cheers,
Imprimago.

I will Enable it again when it will be reachable again!
Thanks for your patience.

I was in the area and had a bit of time to spare so stopped in. I always enjoy having a walk along the Yarra and it was nice and quiet on the loop. I spotted the obvious with a bit of a look around then started on getting access to the log.
Thanks Imprimago for the cache

What a thoroughly enjoyable cache this is. Beautiful place for a walk, interesting history and a very clever cache. Nice to see something different and good to think outside, or inside, the square for a solution! Not really as straightforward as you think it’s going to be so definitely take some tools of the trade. They will be needed.
Definitely gets a favourite from me. Thanks for for bringing me to this area and showing me some history.

Morning ride to go knock this one off. I enjoyed the story, location, and cache desgin. Thanks for the cache!
Been on my radar a while now, since I moved quite close to this area. It's nice to see something bit different, a bit of work put into the design. A nice field puzzle, leading easily from the obvious but wrong, to the solution.
We found it very quickly but took us a while to the the code but we evetuly did it. Good cashe
Had a wander around her with EveryoneLovesString and discovered this amazing cache! Found quickly but tried many things to open the lock, it's very well made! Eventually downloaded a app and found the way to access the logbook! Quite difficult and I think the difficulty should be higher. TFTC. FAV
After a bit of searching, I found the cache but was unable to solve the code after an even longer period. That will have to wait for the next person.
This one joins RiddleyWalker's Riparian Zone and Atsmug's Home Show Trail as recent caches that make good use of info boards, or maybe they joined this one, because this one was placed first. Either way, today I finally laid eyes on this one, almost 6 months since I reported a DNF here, and it's beautifully done. Thanks Imprimago
A bike ride and cache was the plan. Target caches noted but didn't correctly take into account my fitness which was less than my enthusiasm.
A nice mental challenge in the heat and a great spot. Fav given for container.
Thanks to Imprimago for the placement and fun.

Absolutely stunning little puzzle and a beautiful container. I was a little perplexed at first. But then the penny dropped. Very impressive first hide for the CO..Very very well done.. I loved it. TFTC and have a favourite point
A team effort to solve this one. Like doing an escape room activity but outdoors. Thanks for the cache
TFTC. Lovely place by the river. Quite a puzzle – impressive use of technology as well, both electronic and mechanical. Lucky I had the Geowife with me, otherwise I would’ve been wondering everywhere. I will give one spoiler: you don’t have to go too far from the GZ to solve this one.
Dear all,
I will disable the birrarung code just for few days, little maintainance required.
Cheers,
Imp.

Well used riverside this late afternoon. Not so sure about the quality of my skills in solving the code, but the rest is fab. TFTC
Nice interesting find. Great location. Was not sure of the code but liked the message " be kind to your kids"
This was a tough cycle in some strong winds, and I just made it to the cache and back in my allotted hour of exercise. The legs are tired now.
At first I didn't get it, did I have to climb a wattle tree? Find a rock? Ah no just look a bit more and then all the pieces fell into place. Great design, a favourite for me. Hands sanitized before and after for next finder. Tftc!

Hands down the best geo cache I’ve found.
