Great Northern escape 2022 Day 82. Townsville second visit Day 2. After a day off yesterday, I decided to have a bigger day today. I started in the city, then went out to the port region and then headed back around the strand to finish along Pallerang road. Back to urban caching is a challenge, and several DNFs today. I was very happy to find those I was able to and I enjoyed a fantastic pie from a convenience store in Belgian Gardens..
I am pretty sure I found the spot, but after extracting several layers of rubbish and stashed stuff, I did not find a cache today.
Thanks.

Came out had a really good look. Checked with photo. Felt everything. Searched everywhere and lapped whole place. Nothing here
We are getting to know the cycle trails around Townsville, and quicker ways to get into town. Today was Market day so we decided to get breakfast in town. Nice easy ride into town, as as we went a different way, there were caches along the trail 'Bonus'.
A busy street for both traffic and pedestrians. very hard to be stealthy, when the eventual GZ is about 15 mtrs out. Found the artwork and then the container.Using one of the recent gadget cache technics, we managed to raise the container from the depths of that dark hollow. Log signed and replaced where the magnet is not needed, until the CO gets a chance to fix.
Thanks Lliam49 for the caches.

Total Cache Finds 12866,
We are walking around town doing the odd cache here and there...Found cache o.k. took time to get to it ..log signed and dated. Tftc. Liked the art work..
In Townsville for our niece's wedding. Had a little time to spend, so figured we should pick up a Townsville cache.
TNLNSL. Thanks!
TNLNSL. Thanks!
Another day in Townsville means another day of caching and tourism for Tankengine, Youban and I.
This cache: This one threw us on a couple of things. “Photo wall” more paintings on the wall. The coords looked like they were in the middle of the road and magnetic - obviously not anymore. However,
we parked right at the closest spot where we needed to be. Could get closer unless we parked in the driveway. From there we just looked down and saw the cache. Took a couple of tools to pull it up, but got in the end. Tftc!!!

Enjoyable and relaxing day out with Bluewattle after a hectic weekend just picking up a few caches here and there.
A quick find of the good hide here, thanks CO.

I ventured out this evening with stephyy to grab a few caches on our last night in townsville. Stephyy made the find here and managed to extract the cache while I was retrieving a tool from the geo mobile just incase. Tftc Lliam49 ️
Out with jodsta83 finding some caches at night before we leave tomorrow.
Found where the cache was but getting it out wasn’t gonna be super easy. Jodsta83 went to get a TOTT while she was doing that I managed to find one I could use on the ground next to the cache which helped get it to a point where my fingers could grab it.
Thanks

Relogging this one, app decided to remove all our finds . Scroll down through the activity for proof.
Sometimes small hands come in handy. Tftc. Totally missed the wall in the first pass
We said goodbye to Nyssaflutterby and wombles and we then set about doing some of the town caches while it was still quiet.
We we just about to park when we saw fleabag and co walking the streets. They assisted us with the retrieval of the cache.

Heading out for dinner and managed to find a tool nearby to extract this one.
Thanks for the cache, the adventure, the hunt and the fun.

In Townsville for the Mega with Spiffy- and our geofamilies. With so many cache options we decided to choose a few target ones.
Right outside our residence so how could we ignore it. Needed some nearby items to help but pushed to one side and could then lift we fingers.
Thanks to Lliam49 for the fun and the adventure.

Had a thorough look for this one at GZ and a widened search e=area with no luck. Will watchlist
Found, was a little tricky as some people have put other things there too. I added a new paper log too.
Wow another fail. Could see the cache but couldnt retrieve it. Need a better tott
Not much room on the log now! For me the marker on the map was off by 20m or so. TFTC
Thank you for showing us the art work. You've sparked our interest in checking out more around the city. We replaced the cache where we found it.
While waiting for our takeaway dinner, we wandered down to find this cache. Coordinates were a little out as previously stated, but using the description and previous logs I quickly had it in hand. Love the wall! Thanks for bringing it to our attention!
Good hide coordinates are out it is actually near the local newspaper joint and it's not magnetic it just sit on metal
TFTC. There are way too many muggles for me to grab or investigate. So I'll say I've found it because I'm pretty sure I know just what to do to get it. Added a face to the wall (which if you cross the road opposite the post office you'll find it.
Cache was located very quickly then it was the problem of getting to it. KerriMG went to the car to grab a TOTT but with the help of my sunglasses I managed to wedge the cache into a position I could wriggle it up with my fingers. Hopefully we have returned it so the next finders can assess it a bit easier.
Great night to do some caches with teambombas:). I am really in awe of this artist, such a talented person. TFTC
Found with LJB54.
Have had this one on the radar for awhile. Down in the City for the Cluedo adventure and took the opportunity to search whilst we were here.
Another example of the beautiful Townsville street art trail nearby and after a quick search had the prize in hand. SL TNLN TFTC

TFTC was a great spot I work in the city each day and have been we seen this wall .. a nice evening find with @Nawaii101 and the geokids
Mr CNQ suddenly found himself in the city at 9am with a workshop cancelled, time for some caching and few of the usual resources. Jut as well for the time - it went like this, grab cache from angle, see if it will fit back at a different angle, drop it in, pull pen apart to make it narrower, clean ink off fingers in car with sanitiser, get a drink from the shop, use old pencil for car to lever it up, drop it 3 times, retrieve, sign, replace lower and more vertically and finally move on. Neat little location thanks Lliam49, spent quite a while here.
Great hiding spot and a beautiful location in the middle of a city. Pretty sure I got some weird looks from muggles passing bye, while opening the painted black mint container cache. Barely managed to sign the log with my dodge pen as it’s not my normal one, since I left it at home. (My name is probably obscure in log as I had to sign over a stamp
but I got the date under my name clear.)

First Townsville find, took a sec to find the wall but new straight away where to look when I did.
Quick and easy find after inspecting the images of previous finder to figure out where GZ is, since the coords are off by a couple of meters
Logging this one from the other day! It was nice to grab one of my favourite people in the world geocache.
This was rather a tricky cache to find we thought coords off a bit so even finding the mural was not straightforward as out of towners. Thanks we enjoyed the cache and the hide.
Nice hide! Was hard to get out tho! Nature definitely came in handy as well we small hands
A shonky shop is a second hand shop that sells very cheap goods that are often third or even fourth hand. Most of the clothing has in fact been supplied by a pawnshop where poor people have sold their clothes.
One such shop is run by Soon Shine Sun in Clay Lane. Despite the lack of quality, various denizens of Cockbill Street both regularly patronize such shops and take pride in the clothes. It is known that they are too proud to buy from the pawnshop. In fact, in my younger days I joined the Watch in a suit proudly purchased from the shonky shop.

Quick find. No magnet so it’s sitting in the rubbish at the bottom. Thanks for the cache
Good to see some new caches in my old home town.
Found this one on a night time caching drive for a few finds
Thank you for placing this geocache Lliam49

Oh my goodness this one gave us some grief - I can't believe how unobservant we were. Even resorted to asking a local if she knew where the paintings were and she had never seen them but got there in the end. Had to use a TOTT to retrieve the little blighter from its lair. Signed log and returned as found. TFTC Lliam49
