Southern Autumn adventure Day 50. Mid North section of SA trip Day 21. Mount Barker 1. Today and the next two days are really transitional to me getting to Mildura in time to do the Paddle Steamer with friends from Canberra. In the meantime I had a day around Mount Barker area today. There was light rain on and off, but it was not much of a problem. I tried to find the multi's I worked out the numbers for yesterday and had a load more caches on the list that went from smoothly to very problematic. I had to skip a whole section as the only access road we being re-surfaced. It was a long and quite difficult day at times, but with that comes a sense of achievement with what was found. I finished the day with dinner in the pub in town and had a great night !
This one tried hard to evade me, I went around and around until I eventually spotted it, right where I was looking.
Thanks for the cache DrewEsno

I’m having this week off as others at work had the Easter break off so it was my turn and another trip up North to Mildura was planned.
I was able to leave Melbourne nice and early to get a few caches in on the way up to Culgoa.
So after a great feed and a couple of beers and of course great accomodation at the Kaneira Hotel I headed up towards Mildura to see how many I could find in the Paddle Steamer series.
I managed to find 115 and 165 in the last couple days but the uni joint in my right knee has finally said enough is enough with all of the getting in and out of the Geocruiser so it is time to spend a casual day around Mildura.
I got up nice and early to attend the Dawn Service at the park and it was great to see so many people there paying their respects.
After a wander around town and then completing the Turtle series which was the second reason why I came back up to Mildura it was time to keep my wandering around.
So after crossing the mighty Murray river for a few and then crossing back again so now I’m back on home soil again.
Finally making my way towards my accomodation and after working out how to get in here I made my way along the side road to this one.
It won’t be too long before this farm will slow down as the sun is slowly disappearing over the horizon.
Great to such a large solar farm.
Thanks DrewEsno TFTC

The cache was found in the last place we looked, which as usual was not the first place we looked. Thanks for placing a fun cache guys. We do love your work. We signed the logbook. Of course we did that is way we play this game. Cache in pretty good condition for the cache age.
I will apologize right now, because everything from here on is here solely for the purpose of padding the word count.
This particular geocache was found using one of the following GPS enabled devices, Garmin GPSr, Montana 680t, Oregon 650 or Dakota 20 and a Samsung S8. Waypoints and paperless geocaching were downloaded via GSAK 9. Log prepared, checked and submitted using GSAK publish logs...

Caching on my way from Mildura to Adelaide today. A quick find here and then on my way. TFTC!
Found today on our trip up north. Walked in from the main road. A nice cache container. Thanks from D & HA B-A.
We travelled along the dirt road on the right side of the tracks to get to this one, and another hide a little further up the way this morning and after a short search we soon had the good sized hide in hand. Certainly a decent sized solar farm we passed on our way here, thanks for the hide.
My navigation was inaccurate for this one however i found in great condition. Someone drove past very close to sight, very hard to go into stealth mode without looking suspicious, however driver didn't even look my way.....phew!
My second cache for the day and it was a quick find here. Enjoyed the short walk through the mallee vegetation TFTC DreeEsno
A plan was hatched with Rapidlywild to attack some of the caching trails down in VIC/SA.
With the boarders slowly staying open we thought Easter might be a safe time to try since the QLD boarder was still too fragile to attempt going to the MEGA and it also looked like it could be rather wet there.
The group grew from two to six rather quickly after having a chat to GoodLook about our plans.
Our power team “The Mob” consisted of GoodLook, LíB, Rapidlywild, The Drovers and ourselves. This team ended up being very productive and some new friendships were made. Always a bonus in my book.
All logs were stamped with “The Mob” to save space and time.
Day 2 of the trip and Day 1 of The PS Series.
All puzzles in this series were solved prior to the trip.
This series was dry and dusty mostly straight forward finds with a few tree climbs thrown in for good measure.
After calling it quits on The PS Series Rapidlywild and I called past this one on our way back to our accommodation. No problems finding this one.
Thanks for the placement and maintenance DrewEsno

For the first time in a long time, it was road trip time. With COVID-19 keeping everyone at home for so long, the borders were finally opening and the feet were itchy for a decent caching trip. Plans were made with FurfacesLL to do a 10 day road trip across to Mildura and Loxton to do a heap of caching and we were excited. Across the 10 days we racked up over 4,300km in driving, multiple hotels/motels, brought home enough red dust to create our own sand pit in the back yard and collected over 1800 finds between us. It was a massive trip and lots of fun was had.
We teamed up with GoodLook, FeatherTop, The Drovers and LiB and signed most logs as "The Mob". There were a few caches which were signed as individual team names as some teams had already completed said caches, those will be noted individually.
Our target caches were the Turtle Series, the Paddle Steamer Series and the On Ya Bike wherigo Series, heaps of other caches were also collected along the way but our primary target caches were completed which made us all very happy and very tired geocachers.
Day 2 of our trip away and it was time to start the Paddle Steamer Series. Our on the trail today "The Mob" consisted of GoodLook, The Drovers, LiB, FurfacesLL and myself. The roads were in good condition for both 2WD and 4WD's, lots of red dust gathered in the clothes and the car, plenty of wildlife spotted and lots of caches stamped. We got through a large chunk of the PS Series today leaving only a small portion to complete on Day 3.
Picked this one up en route back to Red Cliffs after a big day out doing the PS Series, was just FurfacesLL and myself at this one. No issues with the hide.
Thanks for the hides DrewEsno And thanks to "The Mob" for a trip to remember [^].

After leaving Mildura we were heading south to catch the ferry home so only looked for a few caches along the highway. This was one we stopped for.
There was little traffic so we parked off the highway, crossed to the other side the through the bush and across the railway line. More sand then a small bush section.
At the published coordinates we found nothing so looked further afield. 8m to the south we spotted a cache style container against the fence. We retrieved it and on opening we found another container with a log book. Once signed we put everything back and put the container back where we had found it and covered it with leaf and bark litter found in the area.
Thanks for a good cache DrewEsno. We checked out the solar farm before going back to the car.

Found on a trip from Adelaide to the Mildura area for a few days of caching with Team Waldron, Brisal5 and FeatherWaite. Our main targets were the Paddle Steamer and Turtle geoart series' but we also took the opportunity to seek out a few other caches along the way.
We were fortunate with the weather. After a burst of very hot days, we timed our trip nicely to coincide with the milder conditions before the next hot spell. That helped to make both the caching and the camping along the Murray River and in the Murray-Sunset National Park very pleasant.
We ended up finding all the caches that we had targeted. Most were in good order. Some of the puzzles were quite challenging and there were some very novel and entertaining multi's. Some certainly took a bit of finding and there were many very clever and/or tricky caches and containers that were a credit to the cache owners’ ingenuity.
It would have been good to have had another day or two to complete the remaining caches in the area, but I’m sure we’ll be back.
Thanks to all the cache owners for the hides.

I have seen a T shirt with Sleep Eat Cache Repeat [^] Well a four day trip to Mildura with caching friends Team Waldron, E.gregory and FeatherWaite certainly fit that bill. Logs were signed with initials only for the teams - BEFW
Up at daybreak, quick breakfast and cache all day stopping only to have a snack whilst out on the trails, rush to set up camp near dusk for a meal, then perhaps some night caching, early night and REPEAT!
Strategic camping at Kings Billabong, Rocket lake and The Common meant we were close by the Geoart and target night caches. Two previous trips in 2013 and 2016 by me and some by E.gregory meant we visited some (well quite a few actually) previous finds but that made it quick for the people that hadn't found them previously.
I can't thank the CO's of these caches enough as some were really very inventive. Even having solved most puzzles before we came we were confronted with field puzzles and gadgets that were just mind boggling. [:X][:X][:X]
***Thanks DrewEsno for putting out this cache and maintaining it for our enjoyment. ***

Hi there DrewEsno.
We found your cache **"Catching the sun"** at 11:54:00 AM today. (This makes our find count 24675).
We're staying in Mildura to hunker down over the current Victorian lockdown. to get our exercise today we decided to attempt some caches around the Red Cliffs area. We found 8 caches & DNF'd 0.
Thanks for placing this cache here. Over the years, Geocaching has taken us on many adventures and to lots of wonderful destinations all over Australia. Without 'caching as our guide we would never have found so many interesting places on our nomadic wanderings. 'Caching has also introduced us to a diverse group of like-minded people, many of whom we now call friends.
**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found your cache around 3m from where the GPS said we should be looking.
**Cache Condition:** The container and log book are in good shape.
**Took:** Nothing
**Left:** Smiley Badge
Thank you DrewEsno for adding to our adventure.

Nestled in north west Victoria and so far not affected by a corona virus lockdown, Mildura has a wealth of geo treasure hidden in a variety of ways.
A great place to catch the sun - there should be more of these farms installed Australia wide.
