Find # 16109Down in Ballarat for the usual medical checkup. So decided to do my normal and cache around the area before the appointment time.Have had a few on a "to get list" so I targeted them with a few stray smilies gathered amongst the list. Also got the map cleaned up again with ad labs. Getting another 3 of them done. Concentrated on the wrong thing for a while, then checked the GPS, oops was still a little off. But when in the right spot cache was a quick find. TFTC Sunset62
Marshalls Geelong found this cache today,After about 6 attempts over 2 years I can finally say Ive found this cache. In the end it wasnt too difficult if you know where you are looking. As the previous logs say dont worry about the structure. Happy to have a smiley here! TFTC!
Found It........While up in the area at an event we stopped by to grab this guy. After pulling up we widened our search based on previous logs and soon after we had the cache in hand. So with the log signed we continued our journey. Thanks Sunset62 for the cache
Stopped by while in the area and had a good look but even with two sets of eyes we were unable to make the find
A quick(ish) stop here as I spotted this one on the map heading from Mt Buninyong into Ballarat to finish the geotour. Thought this would be a quick and easy stop, we were pressed for time but stopped anyway. Not an instant find but turned up soon enough. TFTC!
Heading home now after hunting several caches in the Ballarat area and this was next. I didn't waste time on the structure but followed the GPSr to a more likely spot and then spent way too long looking before finally spotting it. Thanks to Sunset62 for this one.
Last day. In Ballarat already, after two days of ordinary weather today is a lovely day with perfect caching conditions. A few more geotour caches to do and lots of labs in town are good for the numbers. Thoroughly enjoyed today, thanks to the local community for putting out all these caches.TFTC Wilbert67
Our last day in Ballarat , the weather has been a little challenging. A few more geotour caches to do and lots of labs and traditional. Ballarat and the surroundings are a great location to cache. Thanks to all the COs for their placements
On a mission with Kbucky and Bemused Keith, to visit all the Geo Tour caches, we also found some others to entertain us, and this was one of them.It was a beautiful day to visit here, but like several others, we became obsessed with the structure, ignoring our ever faithful GPSr.Kylie found it in the end. Thanks Sunset62.
Nicely played Sunset62! Not your typical bus top shelter cache.Up in Ballarat for the GeoTour and other caches with Crusty Varmint and Bemused Keith. Thanks to Sunset62 for placing and maintaining this cache - it was a lovely outing on a gorgeous Spring day - no umbrellas needed today.regardskbucky
On my way to Ballarat to do the Geo Tour but as I was coming along freeway I did a left hand turn to grab a few caches.
Sl thanks for the cache.
Sl thanks for the cache.
Like the previous cacher said, it wasn’t where I would have expected it to be. I located it and signed. Cache was in good condition with plenty of room in the log. TFTC
my uncle was the one to spot this when we discussing how funny we would've been to any muggles watch us rummage around on the side of the road. i also explained to him what muggle meant! the more you learn
another from sunset 62, thankyou!
another from sunset 62, thankyou!
Out today for the Mount Buninyong then the Union Jack Reserve caches. The plan is to start at the bottom and walk them all. Then the same for Union Jack. The sun is shining so not too bad a day. This one was just around the corner so couldn't resist. Nice clever hide.
Thanks for the cache Sunset62
After taking a quick look at the bus stop, we decided to follow our GPS which took us a short distance away. Accurate coordinates led to a quick find. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks Sunset62 fir the cache.
After an early morning medical appointment in Ballarat, we had a lunch date in Ballan, so it was the perfect opportunity to go via the scenic route and this cache series.
Sadly this one was a DNF for us. Given that we had limited time, we gave it only about 10 minutes of searching and are pretty sure it will be there, but our eyes just weren't playing the game today. We will give it another go next time we are down this way. Thanks anyway Sunset62.

I hate caches hidden in bus shelters, and this was no exception. Broken glass and nowhere to hide a cache except where spiders like to hide too. After two circuits of this bus stops I checked the app again. The electronic finding device lead us away and we followed and made the find not very far away! Thanks for the trick!

While on my way to the first event for the day, I was passing by this one, so I stopped for a look, a short time later my name was in the log and I was off to the next.

scramping & I made our way to Ballarat for the long weekend on a mission to complete the Geotour.
With the Geotour complete it was time to concentrate on finding other geocaches.
This was a quick stop. The cache was found after a short search.

Found with hevwalker on our way back from the completion of the GeoTour. We walked around and around, back and forth until something caught my eye just at the right moment. The logbook was in hand, signed and placed back before any muggles drove passed. TFTC
while wandering through the area on our way to somewhere else for a photo session we grabbed this cache

Found with mogni, we are supposed to be targeting the nearby geo tour caches but seem to get side tracked on the way. this was one of the many caches that side tracked us. not a quick find, since it wasn't on the shelter we got alot of GPS bounce in the trees.
Left with Mogni the day before Christmas to go down to Mount Gambier for Christmas Day. Then on the 27th left for Victoria. Plan A was to go to the Ottway Rangers, complete the Geo tour in Ballarat and then head to Geelong and take the Queenscliff ferry over to Sorrento then grabbing new LGA's on route to almost the New South Wales/Victoria border and the old 2001 cache near there. Also attending a community day event, a CITO and a couple of other events as well. Then head in to the high country and come back to SA in 11 days. Things didn't go to plan. Turns out that one of my almost new tyres was defective ( side wall blown out ) and blew in the ottway ranges on a narrow road in the rainforest, Drove to Melton to stay overnight and get a new tyre there, tyre machine broken and the other 5 tyre companies not open so off to geelong for a new tyre ( and some caches on the way and in geelong ) . The event we where going to attend in geelong didn't turn out, he was late by ALOT to his own event. Then to ballarat to same day since we had a b&b booked for the next few nights. Planned on getting the ferry at 1200 and ended up on the 400 pm ferry but we did attend a event and CITO in geelong. Then we drive into the rear end of a thunder storm with forecast 20 mm dropping for the next few days. Cancel the high country and change targets to letterbox D/T for fizzy grid only using letterboxes and same wirh the multi fizzy grid plus fizzy grid only using victorian caches plus any challenge caches we where near. Plus getting a few more victorian 2001 caches. And finally any caches that had 40 more more favourite points. Only got soaked to the bone for a couple of days but the water on the tracks was noticeable. On the return home tried to get the rest of the missing LGA's around the Melbourne CBD i missed in the last mega. Still a fun trip was had if not the planned one.

November 2022. Time for the second Victorian Mega of the year. This time in Whittlesea. What is it with W's? Time for another epic road trip. Who will join our merry crew? We traveled from South Australia and camped in the pig pen. It rained. It blew. It was sunny. It was not sunny. All four seasons. Beautiful location and some awesome caches.
Warning, this hobby can be addictive. It can lead to exercise, meeting new people and finding interesting places you might not have known existed otherwise. Beware: you may have fun.

Next stop on my run through the rain and after preempting the hiding spot, and failing at that, I checked the GPSr and saw my mistake. Soon had the cache in hand after that and one signed jumped back in the dry car.
Thanks again Sunset62....

Last stop after visiting the new Virtual Rewards cache on Mt Buninyong.
It took a few minutes for the satellites to agree on where I needed to be.
A great little hide.
I must take a look at the rest of this series, next time that I am in the area.

Bus Stop - Warnin Gee
Bus Stop - Ajebo Hustlers
Bus Stop - La Famille
Bus Stop - Nathan West
(Are You Ready) Do The Bus Stop - The Wiggles
Last one for the day. I'm glad I waited until I got home before logging - I had no idea the series was music themed until I did so. That's the disadvantage of letting someone else drive the app.
However, in some strange way, I must have known... I was singing some of the songs along the way regardless. One last song for you:
Faves - The Boy
Thanks heaps, Sunset62!

And this time Wespro makes the find. This series has been great and we particularly liked how there was always a turnoff spot to safely look for the caches. Thanks for putting them out
Can't imagine waiting for the bus in seemingly the middle of nowhere, would spook me out! The cars on the road here would probably be better suited for the race track... definitely be careful if taking GeoKids!
Took a little longer than the last one but found eventually, TFTC!

Found with LittleBoss2 on our little caching so towards Ballarat. Thanks again Sunset62, this was tricky but LB2 was onto it
We have passed this way many times and finally managed to head here for a different reason, (to add a smile) tricky hide but eventually the log was retrieved, signed and replaced, TFTC and all the fun
Maintenance run completed - cache in good condition. A more "secure" holder added.
Loved the tricky hide- not at all what I was expecting! A favourite point from me. TFTC
Sneaky little hide headed to Ballarat to get a FTF and as stoped in here in the way home. Thanks for the hide

We were heading back from camping on our bush block and picking up some caches to fill gaps in various goals on the way home. Well, on the way home and we made a slight detour to this cache. We looked around for a while and finally spotted the prize. Upon opening the cache, we found a black plug of papier-mache. We realised that this was due to the O ring having perished and disappeared, so we went back to the geomobile and grabbed a replacement log and O-ring. The cache is now in excellent condition, although we found it slightly different from another cacher we have since spoken to. Thank you for this cache, Sunset62.
A quick find in the company of Glanville Girls. It could have taken a while but I was fortunate to put my hand right on it at 1st try.
A quick drive by today while in the area. Log was saturated. A very friendly sheep came up to the fence to say hello. Thanks for placing.
Our initial plans for the day changed a little so we ended up finding a different lot of caches that were originally targeted. The end result was still the same and enough points for the souvenir challenge were achieved.
With all the needed points under our belt we headed back to Buninyong to pick up a Daughter before heading home to Lara. The route to Buninyong had us driving right past a couple of extra caches so of course we were obligated to stop for the smileys.
This one took quite a bit of finding. eventually we spotted our prize.

With an easing of regional covid lockdown restrictions, we enjoyed a drive along the Buninyong - Ballan road. Fun and laughter amidst the songs, canola, turbines and interesting scenery.
**FEEDBACK TO CO:** The log is very wet because the container has lost its seal - new ring washer required, please.
Our thanks to Sunset62 for an interesting series.

With three event on offer in the one day in Ballarat I decide to have a couple of days exploring the region and today I concentrated My effort on completing the Geo Tour in one day, the tour took Me to lots of areas worth seeing, some I had not seen before and some that I had been to several times over the years, The weather was perfect today 23° and sunny and I really had a great day out.
Well done to all those involved getting the GEO Tour up and running.
Took a few minutes to spot this one, I have stopped at thousands of bus stops in My job as a bus driver.
Thanks Sunset62 for the cache.

Out for a drive with the geodaughter and after performing some cache maintenance on one of my caches nearby we headed up to Mt Buninyong for one of the Ballarat Geo Trail caches before making our way home past this one. I read the logs prior to searching and was a bit concerned by the fact that this one could present some difficulty in finding. But I put my trust in the GPS and fortunately it lead me straight to GZ, and I was in and out of the geomobile with the cache signed in under a minute!
Thx Sunset62 for another great hide.

What felt like an eternity of searching and just about to give up with several prickle wounds I read some previous logs and thought I would give it one last crack and taadaa there it was. Tftc
Today we found Bus Stop on our travels. We are blind! We were beginning to question our devices...then the Chief spotted it. Not sure how we missed it on the first pass!

Found by Mary and David at 16:10. Make that 7 unplanned finds. Took us a while to spot this one. Not where we thought it would be as we approached. Our thanks to Sunset62.
I was making my way home after attending the Ballarat Geotour launch event (and scoring a few FTFs too here on Mt Buninyong) when I saw a familiar geovehicle on the side of the road. Of course there's always time for one more and a quick hello - and in this case Bushfire and au.fait had done the initial (hard) work of finding the cache. It's like arriving at a bus stop perfectly timed just as the bus arrives .
I'm familiar with The Hollies but must admit I had never heard this particular song. Somehow I am familiar with a much more obscure song called "Auto-Stop" by Divle Jagode through a Croatian friend. Then again, not speaking the language, I don't know if any buses are mentioned in that particular song. Buses/busses... Why is the plural of buses buses and not busses?! And why is busstop considered a misspelling?
Well, that stream-of-consciousness **bus stops** here now .
Thanks, Sunset62.

An early start with Bushfire saw us slowly cache our way via Bacchus Marsh towards the Geotour launch. From there a few of the newly released caches before heading homewards. A quick stop at the bus stop where Bushfire found it just as Pac-Man arrived TFTC Sunset62
Our only stop on the way to today's launch event.
We could see vines growing across the road and hear revving engines from the nearby speedway (needless to say we did not attempt the next cache in this series, muggles were arriving in droves to attend their own event).
Thanks for the earworm!

After enjoying the local Adventure Labcache in Ballan we headed along the 'Country Road" towards Ballarat completing the well executed series. The well themed caches were all easy finds bar one and another one was left for the next day as the shearers were looking straight at GZ.
I do recall The Hollies "Bus Stop" but all I could think of was doing the Bus Stop dance at the disco in my younger days.
We made the mistake of not following our GPS here but once we did the hide was located after a thorough search.
Thanks Sunset62 for another sneaky hide.

After the quick find at the previous cache I spent a frustrating time at the bus stop and was unable to locate the cache Today’s target was the series heading east from here and it provided a variety of caches as it educated my journey TFTC Sunset62
Found as Nicnax with PapaGrouch and MazzyMay. We pulled up to find this one on the way home from Buninyong and thought "Oh no, a bustop hide." Luckily the cache isn't actually hidden on the Bus stop. It still took a little while to find the hide, MazzyMay had looked in the correct place, but must have moved the cache aside with it's camo while looking. Luckily we were checking where each other had looked, and I came from a different angle and managed to spot it. TFTC
After attending an Event in Ballan I continued on to search for caches in the surrounding areas along the lesser traveled roads.
A variety of hides and caches in this fun series.

TFTC Sunset62. It is amazing how plans get changed . We are planning to be at the Ballan Event this coming Thursday. As part of that plan we were going to attempt this series then. Having spent a day inside yesterday due to heat, we decided to travel this road from Yendon through to Ballan today. A great series of interesting hides. Some of the music is still floating around my head.
Found it after a short search - this thing is going to get harder as something grows!
A nice summers day for geocaching and an enjoyable cache to find while in the area.
This one did take a little bit to locate but in the end it was staring right as us once we spotted it.
