After caching our way to the top we realised we hadnt solved theis mystery. Decided to give it a crack using the hint & soon had this retro looking cache in hand. Thanks for the adventure back through time.

I have to be honest, I have wracked my brains trying to solve this conundrum and still haven’t solved it. However, I still managed to find the cache and the container is cleverly and appropriately ‘themed’. Thanks!

A beautiful evening to go for a walk and why not geocach on the way. TBS had already solved this puzzle some time ago, so i just tagged along. He (TBS) said i wasnt able to log this until i solved the puzzle myself, so once home i started on the puzzle. I was on target except for one number. I recalculated and came up with the same. We had to agree to disagree on this one. Unfortunately he was right again!
A little bit of coaching from TBS but Im slowly getting there.

I solved the puzzle a very long time ago but it wasn't until today that I ventured back up the mountain to claim the prize. jo2022nz is a relative newcomer to Geocaching and since returning to Shepparton from New Zealand had not yet ventured back up Mt Major so tonight was the night. jo2022nz grabbed most of the caches I already had as we made our way up the mountain. This was the one I was most looking forward to as not only was it a solved puzzle cache but also ticked off another date off my hidden dates calendar. I loved solving this puzzle and the cache itself, once located, was equally delightful. We collected a few more caches in the vicinity of the summit before settling in to watch a beautiful sunset. Then we hightailed it down the mountain before dark. Thanks TeamBGF for this cache and the whole Major Walk Series.

With the rest of the family in Sydney and a busy few weeks coming up at work I decided last week to have a day off to go caching. Looked at the map and initially thought about Shepparton but then saw an intriguing collection at Mount Major so that became my target. Picked what would be a sunny day (was raining when I left Albury but was fine most of the day - though very windy). In the end a successful day with 26 caches found and one DNF. Turned out to be a Team BGF day.

Throwing out the favourites now. When I decided I would come up here I had a look at this puzzle but could see the start but nothing made sense. Reached out to a previous finder and they said I was on the right track and one word got me thinking differently. That twisted my perspective so when I looked again last night it was a quick solve (still think my puzzle brain is fried at the moment). Quick cross country walk from a mailbox and the nicely themed container was quickly spotted. They are some serious cables

Found. Joint find with locus cache

Finally got up to the top, but not by shanks’pony. Rather by a different type of horsepower.
A fun day out with locus cache, Rex the geodog, Kernal Cache, catnap777 and dalerious.
A glorious day to be out and about, waist high grass and rocks to navigate, but the clever cache was found clean and dry, and it was a pleasure to sign the log.
Sadly I don’t have any favourite points to add here for it is certainly worth one.
Thanks for the adventure TeamBGF

Lucky to have a few days by the river at Yarrawonga, today our GPS'r headed us toward Shepparton in search of a few caches, we only got as far as "The Major" before we were surrounded by hidden treasure. We were right into the walking now! HP remembers the launch of Bendigo & Shepp' stations.
Plugged in a FP for a great hide.

Thanks Team BGF for placing caches in such interesting locations.

Here l am again thanking dalerious for his assistance and expertise with beaut mystery caches. He sure was the star of the "analogue day's" show. So proud of all he has achieved in his life. He enjoys helping people, especially cachers, that he visited this fantastic area to introduce me to the many wonderful caches situated here. This area ticks all the boxes. Quality puzzles, fantastic walk and a darned super view. He was willing to climb this hill again, even though he has placed smileys on each and every cache here, just to show this cat a smashing good time. Thanks Team BGF. You never fail on providing entertaining hunting and gathering. Favourite given.

#17473. It has been a while since I have been out caching and today Robmc, Howjen567 and I made an attack on Mount Major. Rob and Howard had done some of these back on 6th July but this was my first time here. We arrived at the carpark at 9.30am and were back again in 4 hours and 20 minutes. This included a few long side treks and a decent lunch break at the top. We were the only ones here today which surprised me as most people have had to contend with many walking muggles. Fortunately I had a walking pole but even so I found the downhill back to the car rather difficult. Walking is most definitely not a favourite sport for me. Give me a bike any day.

Time to claim a find on this very neat puzzle that Rob and I solved back at the beginning of July. Very nice. Favourite point for the cache. Also retrieved the TB that has been in here since the 1st of August.

Thanks Team BGF

I climbed the hill again just for this one. Razz

Working through the puzzle of this cache brought back a flood of great memories from my younger years. [:o]
You see, back in the day, in the last few years before network aggregation, when local television had local content, I was kind of "on the books" for GMV. Cool
I had a job with the station as an entertainer providing "animation charecterization" for their regular Saturday morning programme, nightly sponsored segments and regional promotional shows.
I had celebrity status, a fan club of thousands, character merchandise and was a draw card to regional events and exclusive functions sometimes even flown in to arrive by helicopter. Twisted
Does anybody remember saying goodnight to Pekoe at 7:30pm? [^] Cool

Nowadays they just call the job "Mascot work", but I sure miss being the guy in the bear suit. Red Face

TFTC Team BFG. I loved the puzzle and the container and this cache was always getting a fav from me. Big Grin

P.s. Prime Possum is nothin but a Rotten Rip-off Rodent!!! [:(!] WinkTwisted

Chapter 1:
We spent time beforehand in Shepparton trying to solve this puzzle, but couldn't come up with the goods, so will try again when home. We found this cache by accident when walking around using the hint as our guide, not that it's in easy spot though and were excited as we didn't want to leave one cache left on the mountain unlogged. Anyway...we will continue to try and solve it as it is annoying leaving a puzzle unsolved. Very creative cache. TFTC

Chapter 2:
And.........1 day later, in the seclusion of the home office, thought I'll take another quick look, doh, solved, now that was obvious, we made that much harder than it needed to be !!! Thanks for the history lesson on television Team BGF, brought back some black and white childhood memories Smile

I remember seeing a few of these get published a few months back and thinking I’d like to get over to check out the area at some stage. Then lockdown 2.0 happened and I forgot about them.
After collecting a number of the wonders of the world souvenir challenge tokens recently I then discovered the final two I needed happened to be on the Mt Major series. I spoke to the wife and we hatched a plan. Today wasn’t supposed to be to wet or cold so we set out from Wangaratta just before lunch.
We ate lunch in the car park before setting off up the hill at 12:18pm. I hadn’t even counted the caches up there, we mostly wanted to just get outside in the fresh air. After arriving at the tower we spent a lot more time off track for the rest of the day. The landscape is covered in thick knee high cape weed!
I don’t think we took the most efficient route around up top but we made it fun.

I had tried to solve this one in the half hour before we left home and felt pretty good that I’d cracked it. Arriving at my GZ though did not fill me with confidence. We searched on the way up but couldn’t come up with the goods, so after a loop around the area with the other caches I had put out a call for help and fortunately the error of my ways was pointed out and I wasn’t to far away from where I’d originally thought.
A nicely themed cache and well done puzzle. FP awarded

Number 10 for the day, and found at 3:03pm. Time to start heading back to the car.

Mrs Harrowang got to work and solved this neat puzzle on Thursday in preparation for our visit today. Wow that tower is sooooooo tall! SL at 2pm Swapped TB’s. Loved the container, but we didn’t seem able to get much reception! #7083 TF another cool cache on Mt Major Team BGF

After driving out of the pea soup fog in Wang, I arrived at howjen567's house in brilliant sunshine!
We set off for the Major Walk series, and joined the hordes walking up the new track. Not sure where all these muggles came from, but there was plenty of room on the track for us all.
Fantastic views from the top across to Mt Buller and Bogong, both snow capped (and Wang still in fog!)
The series (as it is atm) took us about 3 hours to complete, including lunch at the top.

We solved the puzzle last night, but BB declined the walk today, so Howard and I did it on my way home.
Fantastic cache container! Very nicely themed.
We did like the puzzle too.
The towers are fairly impressive this close up!
Thanks, Robmc.

Great to find this today and claim a FTF in company with Robmc. Actually Robmc is the proper recipient since he did the prelim here. Nevertheless we found it. Great cache. Thanks
