Found with minniek and the rest of Team CC24 (Canberra Canoeists 2024).Day 2 of our Colo River Region Caching Adventure. After an amazing days caching yesterday mainly on the river, it was time for some bushwalking for caches today. The main aim were the Challenges and Yin Yang series (or at least as many as we had solved). This was our start point of the day. A neat cache to start off with. Signed, returned, and we continued on our way to the next one. Thanks ilook4geo !! I'll be checking my stats for these ones.
It is now Sunday and we (the group who had driven up from Canberra) allowed ourselves a bit of a sleep in after the kayak adventure on the Colo River yesterday. It wasn't much of a sleep in though as there are just so many caches up here to be found - some of the mysteries having already been solved at home. The day dawned sunny and very humid, which didn't bode well for some of the hilly walks. However we were blessed with 100% finds of the caches that we targeted. This was one of them and the logs were all signed as CC24 (Canberra Crew) to save space. Thanks to all the COs for placing and maintaining these cachesSmittengranny](https://www.geocaching.com/profile/?u=Smittengranny) has used [Project-GC](https://project-gc.com/Challenges/GC8RA5D/51538 "Project-GC Challenge Checker") to see if they qualified for this challenge and they did

We started the day walking a trail of challenges, before moving on to ying yang puzzles. Our group consisted of kittykatch, joolay, contesta, MinnieK, Fitzy, search4, Aykayem, smittengranny, FurfacesLL, loci, Nibletricecakes, Gliss, TikvaNZ, sacada and myself. We signed as CC24 (Canberra Canoeists 2024) as our group name to represent all cachers.A nice walk through the bush for the challenge caches. The cicadas were loud, oh so loud at times! But a good series and a stunning view out over the colo River we had paddled from the morning before from the trad at the end. With our walk complete, we convoyed from cache to cache mostly doing the ying yang puzzles solved. A ferry crossing saw the last cacher cross, but the ferry sat on the other side chatting to the one car returning and after a long time waiting we turned and went of caching our own way unable to cross. Later, we crossed elsewhere only to meet up with the group returning!!! A warm day and the walks become too much for me with hills, a great day (Weekend) though and time to return home. A great area to visit and cache, thanks for your cache!
Spending some time caching around the NSW/ACT southern tablelands with lots of side trips. TFTC.Another day around the hills of Colo River collecting challenges, solved puzzles and traditionals.A great day out with the Canberra Crew signing as CC24. It was hot & exhausting with lots of bush walks over many hills. Wonderful scenery. A long convoy of cars carrying kayaks. Awesome. Many great puzzles that are well thought out. Many to still solve.[sacada](https://www.geocaching.com/profile/?u=sacada) has used [Project-GC](https://project-gc.com/Challenges/GC8RA5D/51538 "Project-GC Challenge Checker") to see if they qualified for this challenge and they did.User has 446 finds (50 needed).Filters:( types (Wherigo Cache) )
Found It!With only a little over 100 wherigo finds, this was the "hardest" challenge of this series for me. I still qualify easily though. Walked to this one from the previous cache and didn't realise I needed the ladder until I got to GZ and read the hint. So back to the car, followed by a short drive, then got the ladder out and soon had my hands on the cache!TFTC

Earmarking this challenge cache to complete our 31st DT loop we skirted around Sydney from the back way to GZ. We drove in to find a Ute already there! What, a cacher? No, it seems they must have been dirt bike riders as there was nobody there , only a faint bike sound in the distance.

I was in the area today with a group doing a bunch of nearby caches and signed the log on this one although, with no Wherigos done as yet, it'll probably be a good while before I qualify.
We signed the log after a little climb today, out with Mighty Minions, barefootjeff and Banj5150.... we've got a bunch to do, but with the new app now we might stop avoiding wherigos so much....
Darn, T5, that was unexpected. Luckily plenty of tools around and after a lot of fiddling it was CIH.
Unfortunately, I still have a few more finds to do before I can change this into a Find log.

This cache was the impetus for us being at Wisemans Ferry after picking up our car and van from Freemans Reach after a month of repairs to our LR.
We needed this cache to complete our next D/T loop and so were very keen on finding it, but right from the start after driving right upto GZ - do you think we could spot the cache? We looked and looked, but it was a grey day and it was raining, so it became a bit tricky to spot anything, let alone a micro 5 metres up a tree.
We tried one tree and - nope - nothing. We then moved to the very first tree that we thought that the cache would be in and again nothing. However p-pprass started to look a bit deeper and especially on the other side of the tree all the while precariously balancing on the ladder and suddenly there it was - a brightly coloured container that we just don't know how we missed it from the ground.
So with jubilation the log was signed (see feedback below) and another loop of the D/T grid completed - hooray
Thanks ilook4geo.
Feedback: The cap of the container was not fully screwed down when it was discovered and the log sheet is now mouldy and wet and needs to be replaced.

We were out for a Father's Day drive this afternoon and doing just a few caches as well. Finding this one means the series is almost complete. It was an easy one to spot and we had come well prepared with the necessary tool. So the log was soon signed before all was put back as it had been found. Thanks go to ilook4geo for placing this challenge series. It gets a favourite point for this one.

The incentive for today's trip in the rain was to qualify for the challenge of getting 5 cache types in a day which needed to include a large and coincided with the McQuade Park CITO which offered the "other" type.
This was my third trip along these fire trails so I knew what to expect. Even though there was nothing more than a heavy drizzle, I was soaked to the bone by the time I got back to the car. All containers and logs were dry and in good condition.
A couple of weeks ago I only had less than 30 WIG finds. A trip to the southern highlands bolstered that to 49! A more recent trip to ACT/Yass regions got me over the line

After a chainsaw accident the cache owners needed a hand with this one. Excuse the pun. So I gladly helped out with really bad jokes and they also supplied a short canoe ride on the colo river.
I thought I would have easily met the requirements for this one but it turns out it was close as at the time of writing I have only completed 52 wherigo.
Tftc tnln. As I was told I had to give it a favourite there is one attached.
Also my 13000 find.

A Favourite for this one as I had to work for the find and the Challenge.
It took two trips, including a big one in ACT, to find enough WhereIGo caches as there are only 34 active in NSW. I think that makes this much harder than D4!?!
After a lovely lunch my son and his fiancé joined me for a short walk and to help with the ladder and the find.
TFTC.

Just qualified for this one a few weeks ago. I hope to get back to the area soon. So beautiful in this part of the world.

Made an early morning trip out to these Colo to collect these challenges. Lovely cool and clear morning and an easy walk. Enjoyed all the hides which were all in excellent order.
At the time of writing this I do not qualify but hope an interstate visit in the coming months will sort that out quickly

After parking I checked the layout of this one. Of course my specialty equipment wasn't ideal for this location, but after walking the rest of the trail I decided to give it a try, hoping that branch wont fail me. after searching around I found a stick long enough to get my ROPE over a branch near the cache and climbed up! As I said not quite the right TOTT to bring but I survived, as did the cache.
Thanks for the challenge.
