2 things: I checked underneath all the places that people would sit on. And the thing kept changing.
After taking nice walk in we arrived at cache location. Together with Mrs trouble and the kids we searched the area high and low with no luck
We searched up and down but couldn’t locate the tree with the hide. I didn’t want to hold up the group too much so we headed back to the cars. It’s a great spot that was occupied by fisherman but no doubt in summer it’s an amazing swim spot.
Found with McAdies and Jelly_Bean14.
We were in Rutherglen for the MEGA event and found this cache while there.
Thanks for the hide.

Found on a trip around Mt Beauty for a nice day out.
Great rock pool.
It took ages to find this one but we did in the end not quite where we thought it would be.
Thanks for the hide.

Love love love thank you! Some people will never see such an amazing part of the world
We enjoyed a day walking around and exploring some of Mount Beauty, finding some caches on our way. Made this one much harder than it should have been. Tried adding an extra star to the terrain rating, then got down the slippery slope and found the cache. Log book was very wet. TFTC
I have a little set of draft logs that are not huge in number (22) but date back eight months. I can't remember what I was doing eight days ago let alone eight months, so am going to be efficient or pragmatic or lazy or something and do generic logs. Sorry about that. I do appreciate the efforts of all COs though and can definitely say a big TFTC

Interesting hide. Great piece of history.

Great hide Nordic Ned. Thank you. FYI the pencil is blunt but we had our own pen. Cheers!
Staying at our shack at Mt Buffalo Caravan Park for the week and needing to get the kids outside after the spate of unbearable lockdowns, we decided to return to Mt Beauty to explore the area further as last time we were here there wasn't much time to stay for the day. The geo dog Roxy came with is. We went for a wander along the river and into the bush to find a few caches around here.
Interesting bit of history here. The kids asked what the remnants in the rocks were. Whilst they played on the rocks and waters edge, hubby and I went and found the cache. He had spotted it before I did. The cache and log is in good condition. Grumpy teenager wanted to go back to the car by now but I told her we had 2 more caches to find and off we went.
Thank you for the cache here nordic ned

Quick find while the boy was roller skiing, once at GZ quick easy find. Thanks for taking us to this great little spot. TFTC
Out for a few laps of Big Hill on the MTB. I've left my non caching friends to do laps on their own and have the day free to ride my own trails. Of course that means the ones with geocaches.
After a very cold start I soon warmed up riding up the fire trails to this one. Now the ride back down.
Ended up at Cranky Charlie and then on the way back to town saw a steep trail heading down the river. Well there were a couple of cache down here so here we go, wow another great ride.

Introducing some friends to the world of geocaching with this find. Newbie geocacher races on ahead after reading the hint and cache was safely in hand within seconds. Notebook has been ripped apart a bit. Still able to log easily enough but might need a quick check.
Great day for a walk & therefore for caching. Cache found after enjoying the delights of the pool. Cache all good.
Day 4 of the Magnificent Mount Beauty Caching Festival, with a visit to the golf course and the local swimming holes. I have to say, today was a real highlight with some superb caches on offer.
This was the 7th of 13 finds.
I’d heard about the Rockpool years ago, and had ridden up to the carpark on my bike. It had all looked a bit unkempt at the time and it was a hot, dusty day so I had piked before even finding the pool.
Now with a geocache to sweeten the deal, and some excellent recent landscape work courtesy of the local Landcare group, it was a delight to discover this local swim hole.
Thanks for showing me this spot Nordic Ned - local knowledge is why I love geocaching!

Great swimming spot, took me a while to find but the hint is correct, it is at head height
Took a minute, but followed the footpad then found it quick. Might have to come back for a dip, thanks
With the geowife away at a sewing retreat and a fine day forecast I offered the kids a trip to either Bright or Mt Beauty for an early season swim. Thankfully they chose the latter so I could finish an Adventure Lab I started months ago and try a few of the many caches placed since my last visit.
The rock pool is one of my favourite places in the north east - can’t even remember how I found out about it but is a great place on a hot summers day (and never really busy). While the kids swum in the freezing water I stumbled up the hill and found the cache. Nice to see replaced yesterday and a fresh new log.

This cache was checked by the owner and it is located as described. The previous log could have been SPAM as the logbook has not been signed even though they said they found it 'on the ground'.
having met the CO up at the start of the track, he had informed us this cache has gone missing and he will replace it shortly. We decided to still come up and see the Rock Pool as we had never visited previously. Looks like a great spot on a hot Summers day! We will happily come back to here when the cache is replaced to get the smilie.
Weren’t sure we were going to be able to get this one due to the presence of muggles. Luckily it was a bit away from the Rockpool. Such a lovely little spot.

Out and about with a different purpose but one should never pass by a geocache! Terrific to see remnants of the old diving board and to peer down wondering if it’s really deep enough in summer. Gather that it was deeper and now it’s silted up more. No doubt the young and fearless still jump off here. TFTC and 25 steps.
Another one on my day of Adventure labbing, I'm sure that is a verb. Anyway was worth the extra walk to make it to the rock pool.
In all are travels we would not have even thought to traveled to this location.
(Ha Ha). In your dreams, these cachers do.
[:(!] Thanks for an awesome effort.
Devilish
Brilliant and Clever

We took the shortcut suggested by the local golfer from Ronice88’s ‘In the wood’ cache and soon found ourselves in a familiar area and walking track. We knew FTF had already been nabbed by our friends BettyBoo and Robmc about an hour earlier, so no hurry needed. We had found the Mermaid Beach cache whilst on holidays here in January and noticed quite a bit of flood damage has happened since then! The Rock Pool looked quite peaceful in the afternoon light and we took a couple of photos. SL at 3.20pm #7025 TFTC nordic ned
#17357. {FTF} Well, what a fabulous day. I started out on 199 points, needing only 1 more to hit 200 and get the 5th Memory Lane Souvenir. First cache of the morning sorted that out. Win! Off to Yackandandah for a big walk so Rob could grab a cache and get his 5th souvenir and then off to Mount Beauty for the day. More fun - first to sign off on the fantastic Animal Climbers Adventure Lab. Win! A FTF on a cache published yesterday, Win! A 2TF and a few other close finishes on some recently published caches.
Fantastic views of the majestic Mt Bogong with its covering of sparkling snow. Just a great day out and we must head back to Mt Beauty to try a few of the gentle mountain bike trails.
Following on from Ronice's cache we continued out here, having noticed its publication yesterday. Was very surprised to be FTF. Took a few photos of the remains of the diving platform and the water. I am sure this is a truly popular spot to be in the summer months.
Thanks nordic ned

A trip to Mt Beauty with BettyBoo3747 to collect the last Animal Climber (Adventure Lab), and a few of the growing number of caches in this lovely town.
We had previously done the Mermaid Beach cache, so we didn't fall for the 2.5km walk story!
A very nice stroll along the track, and a fantastic swimming hole.
A bit of snow melt would make this a chilly prospect this time of year, but with the lovely clear water, it would be great in summer.
Not a muggle to be seen, and a nice hide.
Thanks, Robmc.
