TftcAnother bluey turn around to a smiley.Much easier than previously searching. And the area is a bit cleaner. Spied Joe Black on the way back to the car, who slivered under a rock close to gz. 4 of 45
This hide definitely took us the longest to find. Im sure we checked every tree and then checked them again. We were even about to start looking at some of the more treacherous trees down the hill. The problem was that both our phones were playing games with us. tftc
While camping at Emerald Beach for a few days with my geodog Scruffy , We had to get out and look for a few caches ...All Good .. TFTC ..
With a long weekend in front of me and a challenge cache in Brisbane on the radar it seemed a perfect opportunity to good to miss to not head south and chase the caches i need to successfully claim the cache. After spending the night in Coffs Harbour woke early and started the hunt for local caches with a view of working my way back towards Brisbane.I found a safe place to park the car and made my way to ground zero where the cache was quickly located. The log was removed and signed and replaced the cache safely in its hiding place.A big thanks to the cache owner for making this cache available to be found.Cheers
GAP YEAR BIG LAP - PART 2: THE ROAD TRIP - Day 3 Out for a tour of Sherwood Forest on the hunt for some mushrooms after lunch & this deadly looking spot was on the way. Now it makes a bit more sense when rereading the description that people go down this on bikes.. I was thinking when we were there that no car would surely make that!? But maybe some would, who knows? I don't think I would want to be there to witness it, may too scary. Interesting painted rocks & wreckage strewn around. I think I picked the hard way to get to gz, very uneven underfoot & lots of tripping hazards. Finally got to the right spot & grabbed the cache. ^3708 @ 1435hTFTC earthly65
Thanks earthly65 for arranging this cache which has enhanced our enjoyment of the area.
On the hunting trail with Liz and Bruce on a 2024 New Years adventure. A quick find here. Its a great day for caching. TFTC earthly65

We hit the local powertrails today in search of a good bag of finds for the monthly challenge, hoping for a few favourites among them….
Wow, that’s a hill…. We decided to leave it today, I just washed the Forester!
Cache found about 13m out… try 405,409…

This morning we had some time on our hands to go out and do some mass caching! We decided to come up to the MMT and WoopiBucca trails to get some numbers up for the may challenge. Had a great day out here!
Hard find as coords 13m out, all in good condition.
Sorry for all the generic logs.

We started the Woopi Bucca trail from the "Woopi" end, gathering quite a collection of smiley tokens, to add to our geo map. Part way thru'the trail we came upon the Widowmaker. We are not widowmaker bike riders, we have seen a couple of these "drops" near Bendigo in the past.
Satellites today had our GZ 8 metres west of where we found the cache.
Thanks to earthly65 for adding this cache to the geo-gameboard.

An unexpected trip to northern NSW allowed me time to grab a few caches along the way. Opted to have a day dedicated just for caching on my way home so I took to the P/T’s around Coffs. Thanks to the CO’s for your hides.

Lots of quick park and grabs. Others I drove passed or we gave up looking as the compass was jumpy and the day was getting hot.
There would be great views up the top of anyone is more adventurous then us. We didn't search for this as a couple of muggles on bikes arrived from a different direction at the same time as us.

Found cache in good condition whilst out on maintenance run in the area...all good here
We set out from Woolgoolga up into the hills today with the Magic Mushroom and WoopiBucca trails in our sites. The roads were good despite all the recent rain and we enjoyed the forest drive.
There were quite a variety of hides, in both size and design. Many of the Magic Mushroom caches had lots of time put into the containers which was both entertaining and appreciated. Quite a number of logs were wet as you would expect with all the rain but others were pristine. It never ceases to surprise us how some containers work well while others don't. The country was at times tough, particularly where the lantana is taking hold
We awarded quite a number of favourites on the Mushroom trail and probably should have given more, but we were on a mission.
Our thanks to the CO/s for a great effort to establish a trail with a difference.
Thank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache earthly65.

As the graffiti says.. hill off deth. ️ Not the best spelling but it's clear enough. Guess that's for when the rutted steep slope fails to get the message across. And then there's the macabre rock face painting learing at the bottom. TFTC earthly65.
The kidlets spotted this interesting spot in our way to the mushroom trail, so we had to stop here on our way home. Wonder who the first crazy person to ride down there was… are they still alive??
Today we headed up north to complete the WoopiBucca trail, our first full day caching in a few months.
We managed to make 42 finds and 0 DNF's, the trail was a little washed out in some places but nothing we couldn't handle. Overall it was a great day out.
Thanks for the cache earthly65

It was very dark by the time we got here but the name of the cache had us wondering. WOW!!! This certainly would be a widowmaker. . . . . for most willing to try it. Hoping we will have time to have a quick look tomorrow and see it in the daylight. Thanks for the cache.
Dropped the camper into Woolgoolga to have some work done on it, and this series was just across the highway. How could I resist?
Spent the morning on this series then a couple of AdLabs in Coff's.
The GPSr did wander a bit, but when that happened the clues were always good.
A nice range of sizes and hides to keep the trail interesting.
It is certainly an interesting slope. Not sure If I would like to tackle it on my bike.
Fortunately, the cache was at the bottom, so it wasn't a problem
Thanks, Robmc.

After caching yesterday in coffs, we saw these ones when heading home, so after reading the descriptions and looking at the D/T, we thought, these would be a nice start to the day, before we looked at Emerald Beach Adv Labs. However this was not to be the case, either we were having a bad day, or GPS in this area is crap, we struggled through the first 5 even with up to a 17mtr gz error, so I recalibrated the GPS, but was still having mixed success, it would be spot on for one, then out by 10 on others, not the best in this type of terrain.
unfortunately it was not an enjoyable day caching, it took far too long for the amount of caches done, that we were stuffed and unable to do Emerald Beach, but it is done now, traffic was light, but a few logging trucks (thankfully empty) speeding along the roads so take care if it is logging season.

This is a crazy place to ride a bike. Just catching up with logging about this fabulous trail I cached with IndigoBlue1 3/11/2020 thank you Earthly65
It was time to go for a forest drive with ilook4geo and this WoopiBucca series looked like a good run of caches to do. Most were easy enough to find with just a few taking a bit longer. It was an enjoyable day. All found logs had two more names added to them before being put back where they had been found. Thank you to earthly65 for placing this series of caches.
Had a fun caching day with goingplaces2 and found most of the ones we looked for, signed logs and replaced all as found. TFTC.
Found 22/11/2020 with JessYoung96.
Easy find and got it straight away as soon as we got to GZ.
The Widowmaker is massive, didn't expect it to be that high.

Ah - so it is for dirt bikes and not 4wd's! I would not attempt it unless that is the only way from going to A to B. However looking up to the top - how could you get a 4wd around to come down again!
Thanks earthly65.
Feedback: The cache container was a 200 ml Sistema which is a small.

Now that’s a hill!
Came down something like that 4WD training.
Was hoping there was going to be a view for a lunch stop.

Detoured off the WoopiBucca trail for this one this afternoon. It looks a bit more of a challenge than I might have tried even when I had a 4WD, but I used to know some maniacs who would probably have tried it. iPhone was a bit all over the place here for some reason, leading me west then east! Thanks earthly65.
Thanks for bringing us here. What an amazing place. You’d have to be mad to try that but definitely good to see. Tftc
Caching this way again with grooved, we had been here before so knew what to expect of the parking at least. No one trying their luck at this hour on the widowmaker. Tftc
Out geocaching with Leahry101. Wow, no wonder it got it's name The Widow maker.

Our group DRJ (DiamonJs, Richond Lad and joojoo57) had these caches west of Woolgoolga on our list today. Completed the new series as well as some other cachers close by. Thanks to the COs for your time and effort in placing and maintaining these caches for our enjoyment to find. It is very much appreciated.
Out and about caching today caching near Woolgoolga and area west doing a trail of caches and other caches along country roads. To the CO's thank you for placing these caches for them to be found (sorry about the generic log ). Most were easy to find, however there were a couple that needed more time to locate. Log signed as DRJ which represents us 3 cachers - DiamonJs, Richmond Lad and joojoo57. Thoroughly enjoyed. TFTC
Who in their right mind would even drive up this? The name clearly describes the outcome I would say.
The government has now allowed for us to move around NSW. We hooked up the caravan & headed north, our 1st stop being Coffs Harbour camping at the Rugby Club.
Today we met up with Coongoola to do the WoopiBucca trail, this was a great drive along some country roads, passing many magnificant trees along the way.
Amazing amount of work done to place this series, lots of very good hints provided making for mostly quick finds.

We met up with the DiMorgan team at 8.30 in Woopi for the WoopiBucca Trail which was recently published. Grub Fred was also there to meet us and presented us with wonderful personalised badges to wear at event caches, Beautiful work from the Grub Fred team.
Mrs & Mrs Grub accompanied us for the first three caches to make sure that he had signed the logs and then DiMorgan team and ourselves got into the thick of it all. The trails through here were first class and would be easily handled by a normal car.
Nearly all the geocaches were in great condition and had excellent coords. We finished the trail by 11.00 and headed off to find a few old ones that had eluded us last time we were up here. Our bellies were sending messages about lunch time so Coongoola Pat and Di headed to the world famous fish & chip shop to ease the hunger pains. The fish & chip shop in the main street has sweet potato scallops which are mouth wateringly good. We ate lunch by the beach where we also found another cache about Shipwrecks, Bonus !
A great day in the backlands of Whoopi, thank you so much earthly65 for placing and maintaining this trail for our enoyment.
