We had come to the island to attend a CITO nearby and took the opportunity to find a few caches while we were walking around gathering rubbish. Thanks Desert__Rats
Was walking past when saw some others nearby. The key ring totally broke when sumone reached up for it,so I replaced the tether on this one also .Should be good for awhile now.Nice to revisit a cache I was FTF on years ago. Cheers
I attended a nearby CITO and while finding rubbish which was enough to half full my big bag i found a couple of caches and this was one of them .Had a great time and thanks Desert Rats for placing this cache here for us to enjoy. I spotted a kangaroo, ibis, magpie and 4 curlews who were not happy to see me and disturb their serenity. What a great day to be a geocacher and thanks for all the fun
I was here today for the CITO and was gifted the finals while we were walking past. But, I also prefer to at least attempt the puzzle before logging it. I am excited that on the same day, I managed to solve the puzzle ALL BY MYSELF. And the coords matched. YAY. It was a beautiful afternoon to be walking around Bribie north after walking TO Bribie North.
Nice easy puzzle and a quick find with some vacant campsites nearby. Thanks for the cache and
Nyssaflutterby and I were on a very short escape and decided to head out here today. I started walking here alone one day in April but I had crocs on and chickened out. Today we walked through some water and then found the best sand to walk on. Nyssa had located the cache just as I arrived. Tftc
Out for a weekend getaway with wombles. We made our way over from Happy Valley, removing our shoes for a short splash in the cool waters. It certainly didnt feel like winter today! We weaved and winded our way to GZ and I spied the sneaky beasty in record time. Some scribble was left on the log and all replaced as found. Time to be the shoes back on, the casuarina seed pods were spiky on our bare feet. Thanks for the puzzle and cache Desert__Rats
Out for a day of caching to round off my long weekend of caching every day. Today I hit the new Aura area, then made my way over to North Bribie to coincide with the low tide, then over to Golden beach to grab one desired DT and a few extras. My first cache for North Bribie, or should I say South Caloundra? Took a few minutes of looking around the scraggly casurinas before I spotted the cache. TFTC Desert_Rats!
On holidays with the family in Caloundra and this afternoon I took a walk with darth_muzo and GeoM across to Bribie to have a look at how things have changed in the 12 months since we were last here. Is this area still even called Bribie if it's no longer part of the island? It looks like it is still protected as part of the National Park for now. This was a nice easy puzzle for this number nerd and the coordinates were spot on so with the hint it was a nice quick find. Thanks Desert_Rats for the puzzle and the cache!
missed logging.Set out to walk to the top of Bribie Island. This was a target cache which had been solved before coming north.TFTCache Desert__Rats
Up at Caloundra to attend an Event on Bribie Island so a walk across was on our list of to do. Oh how I hate water, so scared of it and sand is no better but I survived the feat.Signed the log on the 28/10. TFTC
The thought of walking to Bribie Island was probably a dream for most of us a while back, however, after the passage opened up plenty of sand has been displaced and built up and its now possible to walk across at low tide and we did just that, which is an added bonus since theres some appealing caches on the island thats a must grab for us.After grabbing our equipment for the CITO this was our first cache. Sunbather were literally on top of GZ so Chamad decided to strike up a conversation with them while I cautiously grabbed the cache for signing duties and replaced everything unseen, I hope. Onwards to the next one. Thanks for bringing us here.#4166 - TFTC
Up here today for the Bribie CITO before heading inland for a few days.I'd never been this far up Bribie before so was keen to come for a looksee while it lasted.Said hello to some of the others and headed off with a bucket. Wandered here and there picking up bits n pieces and visited a couple of caches along the way. Frustratingly here, there were 3 muggles working on their melanomas right at GZ!!Out of aaaaaall that vast area, they had to pick that spot!Even worse, they were still there when I came back!!! Will have to try another day.TFTC
Attending the CITO today on the tip of Bribie with RoddyC, Hatzofff, Princess 1005, MummaBear66, imbunda...Picking up trash and the local caches as we made our way around the tip, through mangroves, sand and boggy ground, glad we could sign the log on some oldies, TFTC Desert__Rats
A group of us went over the top end of Bribie Island. I had solved this puzzle months ago. That soft sand is hard work. Lots of tiny soldier crabs running on the sand. Signed the log and returned to where found. Thanks Desert_Rats. All good with this puzzle and cache. A favourite from me
Hatzofff and I are around Caloundra for a few nights. Today with a few others.Wow! Who would have thought that getting here is so much easier than before the breakthrough further south. Solved the puzzle before that from recollection.Log signed and cache replaced as found at 9:32 am on 24 October 2023. TFTC, Desert__Rats
This was my second time here. The first time I paddled to the island. This time I took advantage of the low tide and walked to the caches. At GZ I struggled to locate the cache and resorted to a PAF. As soon as I pressed sent, I spotted the cache. It was good to avenge a previous DNF.TFTC
I think Small Wombat and I solved this together eons ago.
Finally went across and wasn't too hard to find..

Thursday was a glorious day to be sneaking away from work to go caching! The sky was blue, there was no wind, and low tide was at midday. My partner in truancy today was AtTheLakeHouse, although I was the only truant.
I had been eyeing off this cache for a fair while, because I wanted it for my 3rd DT Loop. Fortunately I was with ATLH, because my calculations weren’t right. I had 57 meters to the cache, ATLH had around 130.
We planned our trek at low tide, and because of the recent changes at the top of Bribie, we were able to wade across easily. We got to GZ and the cache was shortly to hand. Thanks for the cache, Desert_Rats

Headed up north as the weather was beautiful and the tide was low. Had my bathers on and a water proof bag but neither were required. 0.4 on the way over and 0.7tide on the way back and I only got my ankles wet. It’s amazing how this has changed so much.
This was my first stop and I looked and looked and just could not see it. Called it quits as tide waits for no woman. Continued around Nth Bribe grabbing a few more caches. Thought I’d have one last look before heading home and approaching from a different angle I found it fairly quickly. Maybe the tree has grown and I am short but this was way above my head height but could be reached on tippee toes.
On walking out I ran into some walkers. Said hi then thought why would anyone be here except cachers? Had another look and it was the Domskys. It was so lovely to run into this beautiful couple. They helped me with another cache on the island I couldn’t solve so after leaving here we headed off together for a few more finds.
PS I have an engineering degree so loved this puzzle.

An awesome trip to Bribie Island today. We paddled here once before, leaving from Golden Beach, and that was the intention again today, although we needed to be further north of the island than last time.
Returning to Brisbane after some time away, and now heading a little further north again, we were also keen to see the geological changes of the land formation here.
It is quite astounding, and we had a wonderful trip to get ourselves to GZ.
Cache found safe on our walk around the island.
Many thanks Desert__Rats

When I read that the cache was at head height, I didn't realise that the head in question was mounted on a pike. Thanks for the fun Desert__Rats
We paddled, walked, swam, waded, paddled, walked, then went to the pub for a drink.
Doesn’t get much better than that! TFTC

After wandering over here yesterday, I didn’t expect to be back. But last night, I handed this puzzle to my son who is about to graduate in Engineering, and sure enough it took him about a minute to tell me I was going to be getting my feet wet again.
This morning I walked over from Bulcock beach with just a short deep bit near the far shore, and my phone and pen in a dry sack.
There was another tent between beach and cache so I gave it a wide berth and headed in. I was wary of mozzies in particular but they didn’t seem too bad just here. The coords are close which helped a lot in finding this tiny cache.
On my way out, I took a more scenic route along the surf and sandbars, finding the shortest possible waterway to cross was just 10m or so and no swimming required. It is extraordinary how the geography of this area has changed, especially at low tide.
TFTC and reason to return once again.

I passed this puzzle over to my mathematically minded cousin not long after i first noticed it, and then promptly forgot all about it.
A long time later, i plotted some coordinates and then again promptly forgot about it, when i saw where they took me.
But then the geosky's opened and a path was discovered which would take me in a kind of meandering stroll in a roundabout way as opposed to a direct line to gz.
Huzzah!
So the other week this puzzle was added to the list and hunted down while out pretending to be a pirate.
Thanks desert_rats for creating something a lot different on the coast..
I think this is the second time i've found this combination too.
Goal!

I remember seeing this puzzle in early 2021, and despite not really being in the area, I thought it would be a fun one to solve. Perhaps working as an Engineer, I'm not sure about the term "useless" math, and I managed to solve all three separate problems without issue. Eventually getting through the three problems, I had a set of coordinates that the GeoChecker liked on 21/03/2021.
Today, the plan was to kayak across from Golden Beach to the top of Bribie Island (newly formed North Bribie Island given the recent breakthrough?). I was a little concerned with the high winds warning, but the passage still offered sufficient protection to paddle across for the scheduled island event. Following a walk around the island peninsula and the completion of two Locations from the *Pumicestone Passage Meander* Adventure Lab, we paddled back across just as the sea started to get rough. I then spent the majority of my subsequent day heading around Pelican Waters and Golden Beach, walking a few trails whilst fighting the armies of mosquitoes. I then ended the day with a drive into Caloundra completing *Rocking Caloundra* Adventure Lab and a walk along the foreshore/boardwalk.
We continued our walk around the partial-island, and soon came across this geocache location. We used the hint as a guide to spot this cache, and it was smallwombat with the proclaimation that he made the find. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks Desert__Rats for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance. An enjoyable puzzle cache!

We headed out to Donnybrook boat to put the geo boat to get some water-based caches today, while grabbing the information for the traditional series, multi, adventure lab and the puzzles we covered close to 80 kilometres. So, we set out to find the list of caches we had saved and to FINALLY turn it them into yellow smiley faces. While out for the day we found 16.
Before leaving the new geocar (Track my adventures here D78QWZ) we read the description, hint, confirmed the difficulty and terrain, checked we had all the caches in the offline list and pervious finder logs. We set off to start moving through the water. BrisLions was directing us to where we needed to go. Once we got to GZ, we started to walk towards GZ, we were discussing about where this geocache could possibly located. Has these caches have been on our radar for a long time.
We found we needed to maintenance a few caches throughout the day we had spare containers, tie wire, ziplock bags and logbooks. Thankfully after a decent search we worked out we were in the incorrect place then we regrouped. Shortly, we the cache in hand, and we added our little ink mark to the logbook. Was a little sneaky and difficult to find.

We had a lovely morning paddle over to the tip of bribie island before the community celebration event nearby. With a planned route we set sail for our adventure - and what fun we had. So much to see and explore, the caches almost became secondary. Almost . We parked the car-yaks around the bend on the sandbar and walked the beach around to ocean side. A most enjoyable stroll!! This was our first find for the day and set the tone for our trips success. Thanks for the puzzle, even though I went back and forth a bit, I got there in the end. And really great spot this cache bought us to
A fun and enjoyable day with Snickerallan, Atthelakehouse and Wallaby Wanderers despite the stormy weather.
This was the first cache find for the day after a paddle from Golden Beach, some wading at the sandbar and a short beach walk from the tip. Took us an hour and a bit, we did get an ad Lab waypoint along the way, and had some proper paddling lesson from WW. Cloudy day, the sun trying to peak and some rain.
Thanks for the cache and taking us here Desert__Rats. Enjoyed the adventure. Quick find by Atthelakehouse here. Off to the next cache.

Early morning trip up from the Gold Coast to meet up with E_Smiley, AtTheLakeHouse and WallabyWanderers for a water adventure prior to going to the nearby Wesso Family Event. The weather wasn't in our favour but that certainly didn't deter us in the least, apart from a few kangaroos we had the whole island to ourselves after setting sail from the Golden Beach boat ramp in our trusty kayaks.
Was a lovely walk to grab this one which was a relatively quick find once our compasses settled in the wet overcast conditions.

Orange Crew had organised with karicka for a boat ride up the pumistone passage to grab a few caches of the adventure lab and the letters series. So we rrrrr pirates of the passage today, rrrrrr. I wasn’t sure as to why I got an invite but it soon became obvious I was the cabin boy, galley bitch and roust about for the day. I didn’t mind it turned out to be a really fun day, a few laughs and with a good number of caches found and/or replaced with the CO’s permission.
We launched at Donnybrook and with an incoming tide it did make for an interesting journey around the passage. Thank you for this series it has been on my to do list for some time so I was glad for the opportunity to grab them today.
AHRR we couldn't come all this way and not grab a few other treasures me harties.

An easy solve in preparation for a boat trip on the Pumistone passage.
Beached the tinny and walked & waded around the northern tip of the island, the tide was really high.
Spotted the cache and could add my signature to the log.
Thank you DR for this cache

We had advance notice of a day on the passage during our Christmas holiday planning. Knowing that we would have water transport for a whole day, we looked for caches to do in the area. We spotted Sneaky Selections and looked to solve just in case the final was within range.
We had had a discussion regarding combinations and permutations about two weeks prior, so this was a great cache to test the memory. After a little whilst we had the green light from the checker, and the final was saved ready for the day.
After early morning rain the weather cleared and we were of on the jetski to be dropped off at a spot where we could tick off a number of caches. This was the first one of the day for us. Once at GZ it took us a few minutes to spot the cache. Once found, log sheet was signed in smudgy green felt pen, not so good for the water resistant paper, but legible enough.
Thanks for the challenge Desert Rats, we really enjoyed it.

Out for a bit of caching fun with Brislions and Mr CuriousQuest. Mr Curious Quest and I paddled the double kayak and Brislions the single. It was a bit of an effort for me to get across the channel, but we made it into the lee of the island. Going was easier there, out of the wind. I had worked hard on this puzzle but could not get the checker to like my answers. I kept trying, but the checker didnt like anything that I came up with. I got quite frustrated at not knowing where I was going wrong, so reached out to a previous finder. Turns out, I was soooo very, very close to the right answer on my first attempt. With my workings adjusted, I had the final coords. After my caching buddies found a couple of caches that I had already found, we headed to this one. The cache was quickly located and the log signed. Great weather to be out on the water today with Selva Girls and Brislions kayaking around the top end of Bribie for a few caches and two Adventure Lab waypoints. At GZ We searched for what seemed like ages for this one.the We located the cache and the log signed. The cache was replaced as found. TFTC
Today Selva Girls and I plan for a kayak trip to pickup a few caches. We had company of CuriousQuest today.
It was nice paddle over to Bribie Island. My main cache for today was code clash to finish loop 3.
So today paddle we found 3 trads, 2 mystery and 3 waypoints from 2 Adventure Labs.
The round trip today took 4 hours. Did have lots of fun watching Selva Girls and CuriousQuest trying to paddle in a straight line.
Sorry for the generic post. TFTC 4294 Finds

Another solved puzzle cache on our pile finally found and completed.
Great run up the passage to the top of Bribie to grab this little goody.
While sneaking around looking for the cache, a favourtie point dropped out of our pockets, oh well, you may as well keep it.

Sunday. Slow Puncture was doing really well today! All the puzzle caches and Challenge caches we were collecting we qualified for or had already solved I was having a ball and enjoyed the paddle to this cache. Some paths to follow which made for a lovely walk. OBC didn’t have any footwear and was getting a nice scrubbing on her feet I love this area and enjoyed the puzzle very much. Spotted the sneaky little container dangling in a top spot.
This was the 11th of 12 caches found on this outing.
Thanks ***Desert__Rats*** for showing us this place

Yeah, loved this puzzle and the opportunity to flex the math muscles a bit. I also enjoyed flexing the paddling muscles for the last time today too. I didn’t see any roos on my trip but plenty of evidence of them here and there!
Thanks Desert__Rats for the mental and physical adventure! Keep ‘em coming!

After paddling up Coolum Creek with friends, we headed south to pick up a few solved puzzles.
No problems locating this one today, glad to cross it off the solved list.

Well, I have recently acquired a trusty ole blue 'yak, and I was busting to take it for a whirl. The CITO had me interested (I am yet to log one!) and I settled on a plan with a few mates to hit up caches in the general area. While the CITO was cancelled, we managed to still grab the caches and generally have an awesome time.
This was one of 17 caches for the day for me (excluding the challenges I don't qualify for). After hitting up the northern stretches of the Coolum Creek, we picked up a few random caches as we headed for Caloundra and then paddled over to Bribie. Finished off with a trip to Ewan Maddock Dam. Lovely day, every minute of it was full of sunshine and laughter. Can't wait to do it again.
Am I a lady or a monkey? Stay tuned to find out :p
This one helps me with my next loop, which I am quickly closing in on. Wahoo!!!!!

Out with The Bug and having already hit a number of water caches today the plan was for more but it was raining by this stage and we where in a pie shop in Maleny. A check of the radar and we thought it might clear by 4.30 so headed down the hill. Only one problem is that it didn't stop raining so it was going to be a fast lap of the island for four caches I had on the list plus we had to beat sun set. A strong flowing out tide had as going sideways at time and a longer haul up to higher sand.
Saw a couple of roos by the waters edge but the phone screen was too wet for the camera.
Onto Letter and it was soon found and the clue spotted.
No Problem with the puzzle and a tricky hide.
Signing duties completed as the rain increased. Back in under an hour including the other caches. TFTC

This was the second puzzle that I targeted today with Green Team 2. It has been a long time since I did that level maths but thankfully my kids were able to help me out. After a short paddle across on an outgoing tide we enjoyed the walk to GZ and once there the cache was soon in hand.
Log signed and all returned as found.

8:48:00 AM. A beautiful day for a paddle and a walk in the sand. After our adventurous paddle across with the tide running out Konie and I made our way to GZ. A bit of a search and we spotted the cache. Log signed. Thanks for the cache Desert__Rats
Feel there's some stalking going on here as I was that soccer coach. The facts are slightly exaggerated and incorrect as I had 8 goal keepers and 2 players when I took my NSPCYC team to Bribie soooo many years back.
For some reason, everyone wanted to be goalie. I expect the kids thought they rarely needed to run, could swing from the goal frame and swig on their water bottle whenever they liked and not worry about the game. So the goalie position was cool until one kid got collected with a well placed kick from an opposition forward and was carried from the field. After that I had to bribe (not bribie) kids to play goalie. Occasionally I didn't play a goalie at all, it just wasn't worth the pain and my AA visits.
Had to do a little research to clear the cobwebs to solve these maths equations. Then the temporal pain kicked in. Nar, not exactly, it was useful to do the test long handed then try the appropriate equation. Actually enjoyed this puzzle and paddle over the passage on this beautiful day. Thanks Desert__Rats for placing a cache here, and heres a FP for your effort.

Knowing I would be in the area today, I set about solving this puzzle last night. Even surprised myself a getting a green tick from the checker first go. (I have been helping my year 11 daughter with her maths recently)
Today, I headed north with my kayak with a plan to grab half a dozen or so caches. Knowing the tides, I planned my route collecting caches to avoid having to paddle against the tide.
This puzzle was the second one I found today. I will admit to being a bit blind at GZ, despite the colour of the container! All good here - coordinates were spot on
Many thanks Desert Rats

Yesterday, I was informed about this puzzle, and the DT rating had me a little excited.
First glance had me putting formulas of equasions together,
But I came up empty handed, as my my first thoughts had me going down a totally different path than what was required.
I reached out to a friend that is not shabby with equasions and wotnot,
and in 3 minutes flat she had solved it. Great to see that 70K of HECS Debt made lite work of such obstacle.
I also reached out to another friend who helped me understand the formulas for the equasions and I was able to make some sense of selecting soccer teams.
When I was a kid I played in the forwards and was always picked for the team. The 6 a side played indoors format always interested me but I never heard of this 7 a side format...but they say cachers play strange sports...lol.
After being selected for this team I thought I better head to the sneaky training location to meet the team. Once I got there today I was amazed to find I was the only one to meet up at the team rendezvous point...but I see some footprints around GZ.
Once the team meeting was finished I went down and visited my mate Big Red.
Its alway nice to walk these grounds, an area Ive been visiting since the 80s.
Thanks for the puzzle Desert Rats... FP for all round experience.
Thanks to my mates helping me with my maths homework.
I love maths and thought I was pretty good at it.
Quadratic Equasions and Algebra are things that work better for me.
Cheers.
