Headed out to the Avon Valley National Park with Cravo10 to find two of the states oldest geocaches. Geocache number 1 and geocache number 2 by Nissan.

We had a few others on the radar aswell today throughout the park, but they are a major part of a goal we are working towards in relation to finding the oldest caches in Western Australia.

We had a few false starts at a few different tracks as we tried to get into the quarry to get the unloved, but couldn’t find a way in, so headed straight into the National park and found a few caches and checked out a few of the campsites around which were in great condition. We got some assistance in relation to what tracks to take to get to our goals for the day so we are very grateful for the PAF assistance there.

All in all a great day out and brilliant to find some original logbooks from the very early days of caching in this state.

Thanks to the COs for their hides.

Great spot. Thanks

Out and about for overnighter in the Avon Valley National Park with some clowns, namely AlliedOz, Kyzabra & SVKR_WA with chickenhawk07 along for the ride as well. We set up camp early at the Valley Campsite and hit the tracks chasing down some oldies and any others that took our fancy.

A bit of a steep climb tested out my balancing skills but got there in the end, or Kyzabra did at least.

parkacruz I found your cache at 12:10pm, this was the 6th of 9 finds for me today and brings my total find count to 6337. The cache was in good order and I replaced it as found.

SVKR_WA, Granett, Allied_Oz and I headed out for an overnighter to the Avon Valley with primary targets being a few oldies and a few bevvies. We love a good camping trip and even if it’s just one night, the FOTT don’t miss an opportunity. Chickenhawk07 came along for the ride as well.

The plan was hatched, updated by Granett (as per usual) and after setting up camp nice and early, we headed out.

After geo1, we backtracked here and stoped to make the climb to GZ. SVKR spotted and I retrieved it. Have a fav for my fav container in the bush Smile

Many thanks to parkacruz for placing and maintaining I can see clearly now the rain has gone. We found this one at 12:12 pm on Saturday and this is my find 8796.

I put out a call with my free days in a chat, after some 2ing and frying it was decided Avon Valley for a quick overnighter. Caching with a majority of the FellowshipOfTheTrail guys to pick up some caches around the area. We set up camp early and then hit the tracks and trails with some oldies in our sights and whatever other caches that made the list.

Today I'm out and about on the trails with FOTT members Granett, Kyzabra and SVKR_WA, tagging along and helping out with the funds is chickenhawk07.

Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache parkacruz you help make this game what it is.

Granett, AlliedOz, Kyzabra and I were keen to plan a camping trip. After much debate the Avon Valley was decided upon.

This morning we all set off with Chickenhawk07 also in tow. First stop was the campground, hoping to get a suitable spot for an evening feed and fire.

We then headed out into the park to grab as many of the surrounding caches as we could. This area is a haven for old caches and these were high on our list for the day.

Trekked up to grab this one. Great to find an ammo tin. Now not to slip and fall on the way down.

A fave from me.

Now that the FTF has been claimed on this one I have decided to log it on my birthday. No we were not out here again today but our name is on the logbook as we spent “ A grand day out” with the COs a couple of weeks ago when they placed it. Fond memories of a beautiful place. TFTC parkacruz have a favourite for bringing us here( literally).

[^] .. *FTF* @ 10:40 .. [^]

With Janine having all the fun at another FTF in this area earlier in the week, this latest publication gave me the chance to explore the area again myself.
Having narrowed down a few possible entry points, the first couple I tried had promise but they quickly narrowed to scratchy parrot bush tracks (no, I'm not ready to sacrifice my paintwork for a cache just yet Razz)
I continued scouting my options and I eventually found a sneaky one that had me on track to where I needed to be Surprised. After about 7 kms, the track narrowed to where I decided to stop and hoof it with 1 km to GZ .. after all, having spent the last 3 weeks sitting in a digger, I thought it wouldn't do me once iota of harm [:o)]
The walk was good ... until the numbers started counting up again Sad, and with 700 meters to go, I decided to leave the track and battle with the parrot bush. I eventually fell out on the track I needed to be on, where I slowly made my way down towards GZ following wheel tracks that I thought was probably the CO's [?]
As I approached, the arrow indicated that I need to once again leave the track .. where I carefully made my way up the hill. It wasn't wet today, but I could clearly see where someone had slipped down a steep muddy section near the track Surprised. Once at GZ, the cache was quickly found along with a perfectly blank log book [^]
Geez, you don't have the pleasure of finding these beauties in the wild much any more these days .. seems some dodgy folk would rather take them for their own personal use Twisted

TFTC and the adventure today parkacruz. I almost forgot how nice it is to wander through this awesome NP [^]. A FP for sure!
