Logs
On a previous visit to this location, the log book was signed, as I was in the presence of another cacher who had done the work to get the coords, however I prefer the satisfaction of solving the puzzles that I log myself, so I didn't log this one as a find. It's been a while since I've looked at this puzzle, but I had organised an event nearby and in combination with knowing that this CO would possibly be coming along to the event, I decided that I really needed to finally spend the time and the brain-cells required to solve the puzzle. On my previous views of the puzzle, I had a couple of ideas, two I disregarded and concentrated on another track. Wrong! Okay, I assumed that it was a part of this devious CO's evil schemes, so I contacted him for a clue. Hmm, well okay that's interesting but it still didn't really help, so I asked for a further clue. Duh...my first step ended up being something that I had disregarded initially. Right. A bit more work to get some information and again back to the patient, long-suffering CO, who again assisted with another breadcrumb. Wow. I never would have got that by myself. Thanks, dahumbug once again, for another puzzle caching lesson. There's a reason why it is a D 5.0 cache!
During the CITO event, we were making our way throughout the internal areas of the island when we heard a number of voices. We moved towards them and discovered we had timed our arrival perfectly as they were right at GZ, about to find this cache that I had yet to solve. Thanks for placing and maintaining dahumbug
I could say I solved this one all by myself but that was only after the CO helped me considerably with the similar one in Tassie that I needed to solve so I could honestly log it. This one was solved at the same time while I was on a roll. I was excited to see there was a CITO here today and that I would be able to collect the cache in company. I was able to sign this one with the very helpful texta I found along the way.
Nyssaflutterby and I were on a very short escape and decided to head out here today. I started walking here alone one day in April but I had crocs on and chickened out. Today we walked through some water and then found the best sand to walk on. We saw some cool tracks, a bird I hadnt seen before and lots of rubbish. I picked up a plastic skunk toy to put in the bin back at the carpark but we could have filled a bag each. This cache marks Nyssas 11th DT loop! Tftc Humbug
Out for a weekend getaway with wombles. We made our way over from Happy Valley, removing our shoes for a short splash in the cool waters. It certainly didnt feel like winter today! ALL the muggles were taking advantage of the glorious sunshine. This puzzle has sat for well too long in the solved pile. So today it was decided to go make it into a smiley. We weaved and winded our way from sneaky selections through the casuarina forests. Found some cute footprints and were at GZ in a hop, skip and a jump. Arriving at our destination I spied the beasty without a hassle. WOOT WOOT! DT loop 11 done and dusted Thanks for the puzzle and smiley Bug Happy to part with a FP here!
Out for a day of caching to round off my long weekend of caching every day. Today I hit the new Aura area, then made my way over to North Bribie to coincide with the low tide, then over to Golden beach to grab one desired DT and a few extras. The last cache for North Bribie. Found pretty quickly, but I reckon the area needs a good CITO. Heaps of rubbish that has floated in with the tide. TFTC dahumbug!
We were in the area for a CITO on North Bribie and had time left for some caching .We found this cache and signed the log.Tftc Dahumbug
Took advantage of an extended weekend trip up the coast. Out and about and caching with RoddyC Princess 1005 MummaBear66.To day was the day to set out before low tide to walk across to Bribie Island to pick up some target caches.Solved previously.TFTCache dahumbug
After a chat with Janet (janetwil) the day before we decided to have a go at this cache now that its walkable. Meet up at Happy Valley and set off across the sand, once we where at right angles to the cache we cut into the bush towards GZ. Janet soon spotted what we came for, log signed and returned as found. All in all a great little adventure, FP for you. TFTC dahumbug
I recently became aware that it is now possible to walk across the sandbar to the top of the island. With the final coords loaded Dick (dickbev) and I left Bev in the shade with a coffee and headed over. It was a lovely walk and the cache was spotted on approach to GZ. We signed the log and replaced as found and continued on to another cache that I had not found. Thanks dahumbug for this puzzle and cache. Fav from me.
Up this way to attend the CITO on the Northern end of Bribie Island. I have never been here before but since the bit split you can walk across from Caloundra at low tide. Not at all fond of water, intact I'm scared of it but if you really want a geocache you go for it but with friends to keep you upright. Once on the island it was much easier and a few caches found, signed and replaced. TFTC
Attending the CITO today on the tip of Bribie with RoddyC, Hatzofff, Princess 1005, MummaBear66, imbunda...Picking up trash and the local caches as we made our way around the tip, through mangroves, sand and boggy ground, glad we could sign the log on some oldies, TFTC dahumbug, FP awarded for the clever puzzle, very well done indeed !!!
TFTC smile 17160 out and about on a lovely day With a good Event called for the tip of Bribie We all arrived to help with the clean up, so on our walk picking up rubbish, we picked up a few caches and this was one Thank you dahumbug for placing this cache for our enjoyment
Out with a group of us to find a few on top end of Bribie Island. It was a hard slog around here with seagulls and tiny soldier crabs. I located the cache and all signed. Thanks bug. All good with this puzzle and cache. A favourite from me.
Hatzofff and I are around Caloundra for a few nights. Today with a few others.Wow! Who would have thought that getting here is so much easier than before the breakthrough further south. Solved the puzzle before that from recollection.Log signed and cache replaced as found at 8:42 am on 24 October 2023. TFTC, dahumbug.
I had attempted to find this cache earlier in the year when I paddled to the island. This time I took advantage of the low tide and walked. When I arrived at GZ, it was not too long before I had the cache. I do not know why I could not find it previously. Probably cache blindness.TFTC
I've been wanting to walk across to the top end of Bribie since I heard it was now a possibility & today we were heading up to visit my Mum for my birthday so made a detour via Caloundra. We'd brought the puppy with us but turns out you can't have dogs on the beach here so geodaughter had to stay on the mainland & look after him. Really enjoyed our walk over & only had to walk through a small amount of ankle deep water, saw kangaroos & a fox. I must admit I had quite a few shoves in the right direction in the solving of this puzzle so was pleased to have an easy find at GZ.Thanks for the puzzle & cache dahumbug
At Caloundra and saw that I could walk to this one easily enough, made a quick find at GZ, thanks for the puzzle and

I jumped onto this one when it first came out and I think for a few seconds I was in the running for first to solve. But I couldn't quite work out how to use all the data the right way, and I had to ask for a hint. I said to the CO at the time: "Don't worry, I don't have a boat or a kayak, so I won't be a chance for FTF."
How right I was. Even now, three years later, I didn't get to this cache because I finally acquired a boat or a 'yak, but because, well, you don't need one now.
Enjoyed a great walk in this area with the geokids on a sparkling winter's day, and this was the first of three finds. Everything in good nick, here. Thanks for the cache and a great puzzle, dahumbug! (You never gave me that hint, by the way. Ha.)

I remember caching with a group of water bound crazies way back in 20, or was it 21.

An absolutely fabulous day out with Muggle65. Weather is perfect and we even got a car park near our intended departure point. Last time we came out for this one, we were unable to look as we had way too many people milling around who refused to move on. We gave up and have finally returned. Coords are spot on! Thank you for a fun excursion Bug

Headed up north as it was forecast to be a beautiful day.
Well sometimes god smiles on us and today was one of those days. Not only was it a beautiful day with the sun shining but I also by chance ran into the Domskys which was just lovely. Besides having their excellent company and catching up on all their news they where heading off to get this cache. Well I will admit to not being clever enough to solve it but if chance smiles on me I’m grabbing it with both hands. So while I can’t comment much on the puzzle only to say it was hard the location for the final was beautiful so thank you. This also brings up DT loop 6 for me. Yippee.

I recall asking about this puzzle on a zoom meeting back in 2020, when we all seem to be locked into small spaces.
Zoom meetings, once a week were a great diversion and an opportunity to spend time delving into puzzle solving.
It gave us a lead into searching further for this puzzle and with numbers sorted we had a location.
Fast forward to 2023, and, after some time away from Queensland, we are back to spend time with family. After having spent a few cold months in Canberra, where paddling is not so good we were keen to be back out on the kayaks as much as we could while we are here.
The last time we had the kayaks out in this area was to paddle from Golden Beach across to Bribie, and that was the plan today.
Gosh, the geology has changed here remarkably!
It looked nothing like the last time we had visited.
Once at the island, we were able to make our way around the land and find this one.
It was also lovely to accidentally meet up with Nikid1 today who was also on a mission to find some caches in this area. After all, why would anyone else have a phone/gps unit on their own in the scrub here?!
A FP for all aspects of this adventure.
Thanks Dahumbug

Caching with BM75 on the sunny coast today.
This was my main target for the day, waited for a favourable tide. In the end we got to use the kayaks.

Found today at high tide. There was a weird sloshing noise near GZ that gave me a bit of a fright but it turned out to be a kangaroo hopping by! TFTC
No luck here today. GPS bouncing all over the place. Will try again some time later.
I had recognised the name of this puzzle with the CO from various other states around the place. It had featured at a Mega event, and I also had the pleasure of getting a FTF in South Australia's version, [GC8V7CG Code Clash ...(In South Australia)](https://coord.info/GC8V7CG). So I had been quite familiar with its solving technique, but I hadn't had a chance to complete my research and deciphering skills until recently, on 1/02/2022, with today's event providing the necessary motivation to sit down and complete.
Today, the plan was to kayak across from Golden Beach to the top of Bribie Island (newly formed North Bribie Island given the recent breakthrough?). I was a little concerned with the high winds warning, but the passage still offered sufficient protection to paddle across for the scheduled island event. Following a walk around the island peninsula and the completion of two Locations from the *Pumicestone Passage Meander* Adventure Lab, we paddled back across just as the sea started to get rough. I then spent the majority of my subsequent day heading around Pelican Waters and Golden Beach, walking a few trails whilst fighting the armies of mosquitoes. I then ended the day with a drive into Caloundra completing *Rocking Caloundra* Adventure Lab and a walk along the foreshore/boardwalk.
After following a nearby geocache, we took a walk with our compasses guiding our way. After arriving at GZ, we were a little nervous by a few past logs commenting at the difficulty of the hide, and so as the three of us split up (georode, smallwombat and I), I was the lucky one that managed to find the cache safely covered by natural camouflage. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks dahumbug for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance. It was also nice to have found this cache with 300 days [9.9 months / 0.82 years] of unfound love since its last find on 12/04/2021.

When this cache was first published, i had a look and saw a few combinations i recognised but got stumped pretty quickly so left it for much easier brain fodder.
Then a hiatus gave me the burst i needed to try again for a solve, this time inspiration coming from it being the last unsolved puzzle under ten km from home.. that time i few numbers popped out at me and with a nudge in agreement, i set forth unravelling the mystery that is code clash. Feeling chuffed with my solving of a five difficulty puzzle, i then went on to solve the other state's code clash tributes.
Then of course it sat there on the shelf of unfound solved puzzles that's grown to quite the collection now.
I threw out several lines for a possible fishing excursion, but before an assault could be made the event happening nearby popped up on the map and the rest as they say is history.
Cache was found while i was somewhere else entirely. Surprisingly also not tethered.
Thanks dahumbug for the interesting puzzle that brings back memories of past adventures.
Second time i've ever found this ever elusive combination, and so to celebrate this cache is find number 3666. Only fitting in a puzzle dedicated to numbers.

Took a little while to find. Surprised it was still there after seeing the DNFs. Also after the heavy rain. Nice short kayak to here.

We had a lovely morning paddle over to the tip of bribie island before the community celebration event nearby. With a planned route we set sail for our adventure - and what fun we had. So much to see and explore, the caches almost became secondary. Almost . Was not expecting to be able to find this one today but with four pairs of eyes we thought it couldn’t hurt to try. Lo and behold we located the container to much delight. Always a good feeling! A really cool concept with the puzzle for this one Bug. After a little nudge I quickly worked through to process and came out with right coords. I’d love to do the rest of the series one day!!
After abandoning plans early in the day due to very wet weather, JACS Team and I decided a post lunch paddle was in order as the weather cleared up just enough to grab this one. TFTC!
Met up with Ardom to attend an event with the plan to grab this as well. It was an adventure here today in the wet and rain with and was kindly given permission to log from the CO.
Early morning trip up from the Gold Coast to meet up with E_Smiley, AtTheLakeHouse and WallabyWanderers for a water adventure prior to going to the nearby Wesso Family Event. The weather wasn't in our favour but that certainly didn't deter us in the least, apart from a few kangaroos we had the whole island to ourselves after setting sail from the Golden Beach boat ramp in our trusty kayaks. This was a beaut puzzle waiting on the solved and must do pile but we were not confident in finding the cache after a recent DNF but none the less we thought what the heck, no harm in looking I guess. Once at the GZ area we spread around and started methodically checking all possibilities like seasoned bush turkeys. I missed finding the cache in the area I scratched around in but luckily ATLH checked over my work and bingo the look on her face was priceless when she held it up in excitement.
A favourite point for both the puzzle and the views, great location.

A plan was hatched with Snickerallan, Atthelakehouse and Wallaby Wanderers despite the stormy weather prediction. Looking closely at the weather and tides. We dodged the rain, ... a bit.
This was our second cache for the day. So stoked Atthelakehouse found it not long after we combed nearly all the needle pine trees around gz, as there was nothing to search at gz.
Thanks for the cache and taking us here dahumbug. Really enjoyed the puzzle and adventure.

So we wandered over and had a look around. Given the nature of the day and the previous DNF’s of quality cachers including a previous finder we admit that we did not perhaps give it 110%. Feeling bummed now that we know other cachers found it today. Still a lovely paddle that I would be too upset about doing again.
Out for a bit of caching fun with Brislions and Mr CuriousQuest. Mr Curious Quest and I paddled the double kayak and Brislions the single. It was a bit of an effort for me to get across the channel, but we made it into the lee of the island. Going was easier there, out of the wind. Brislions and I had worked on this puzzle together and were pretty chuffed when finally got around all the red herrings and worked out what was needed. Not long after, we had coords for the final. After finding a nearby cache, we headed to this one. After a bit of a search, the cache was located next to a spot I had checked :s With our names added to the log, we were soon on our way again. Great weather to be out on the water today with Selva Girls and Brislions kayaking around the top end of Bribie for a few caches and two Adventure Lab waypoints. At GZ the cache was quickly located and the log signed. The cache was replaced as found. TFTC
Today Selva Girls and I plan for a kayak trip to pickup a few caches. We had company of CuriousQuest today.
It was nice paddle over to Bribie Island. My main cache for today was code clash to finish loop 3.
So today paddle we found 3 trads, 2 mystery and 3 waypoints from 2 Adventure Labs.
The round trip today took 4 hours. Did have lots of fun watching Selva Girls and CuriousQuest trying to paddle in a straight line.
Thank you for everyone who help to get 3 loops done. I have had lots of fun getting 283 caches that fill these loops.

Another run up the passage to collect a few caches along the way, with this cache as the target. This cache is a great one for our DT, and it had to be solved and found.
Its a very typical Bug cache, and is in an area that is a favourite for us to visit, so most certainly was a cache we were also looking forward to getting.
Thanks for the cache Bug.

After a tranquil paddle up at Coolum Creek this morning it was quite a different experience here at the busy Pumicestone Passage. The tide was on the way out and the outflowing current was getting stronger. Motor boats and jet skis were disturbing the water in all directions. There is a lot of sand at the top end of the passage now so I wasn’t quite sure where to leave the yak while I walked in to the two target caches. In the end I dragged it across the shallows to a safe spot.
I can’t say too much about the puzzle for fear of dropping too many hints but I can just say that it pays to know a little about the illustrious CO’s eclectic interests in the rich heritage of our game.
Thanks dahumbug for another fine brain-twister!

After paddling up Coolum Creek with friends, we headed south to pick up a few solved puzzles. A friend gave me a tip on where to begin with this one, and after some trial and error the co-ords were soon found.

Sunday. How lovely to find this cache! I had it in my solved list not long after publication and today we were in the right spot to make a find and collect a smiley. This was the 10th of 12 caches found on this outing.

Well, I have recently acquired a trusty ole blue 'yak, and I was busting to take it for a whirl. The CITO had me interested (I am yet to log one!) and I settled on a plan with a few mates to hit up caches in the general area. While the CITO was cancelled, we managed to still grab the caches and generally have an awesome time.
This was one of 17 caches for the day for me (excluding the challenges I don't qualify for). After hitting up the northern stretches of the Coolum Creek, we picked up a few random caches as we headed for Caloundra and then paddled over to Bribie. Finished off with a trip to Ewan Maddock Dam. Lovely day, every minute of it was full of sunshine and laughter. Can't wait to do it again.
Am I a lady or a monkey? Stay tuned to find out :p

I have been working on completing my D/T grid and saw that I had multiples of some, a few of others and a couple of spaces with nothing, so I decided to set a goal for myself of completing three loops in a day. This was in conjunction with a couple other challenges I was doing I was still out each day collecting a cache a day for another challenge. Slowly it was all coming together and today was my day to collect 5 particular caches, and a few others on the way. a paddle and a walk will see me complete, just a DNF will upset my plans.
After a drive to the Southside to grab one that completed my first loop, it was now a drive to Caloundra to grab a couple of paddle caches. A nice morning for a paddle and an easy paddle over from where I parked, I grabbed the kayak and dragged it up the beach getting prepared for my walks ahead.
I found the first cache reasonably quickly so it was now a walk of 200 plus metres to find this one. I took the beach way around which was a little further but a nicer walk. I had solved this puzzle with OBC while driving home from work late one night. What a cool puzzle and a very clever idea for a puzzle, it will get a favourite point from me.
Making my way to GZ I had a look around and then something caught my eye, awesome I got you. Happy dance time, I signed the log and returned cache as found, awesome, so happy with this find. Now to paddle back to the other side of the river and continue my quest for the day.
Thank you bug for the cache and puzzle.
Out with The Bug and having already hit a number of water caches today the plan was for more but it was raining by this stage and we where in a pie shop in Maleny. A check of the radar and we thought it might clear by 4.30 so headed down the hill. Only one problem is that it didn't stop raining so it was going to be a fast lap of the island for four caches I had on the list plus we had to beat sun set. A strong flowing out tide had as going sideways at time and a longer haul up to higher sand.
Saw a couple of roos by the waters edge but the phone screen was too wet for the camera.
Onto Letter and it was soon found and the clue spotted.
I do particularly like this puzzle and got an answer the checker liked.
Signing duties completed as the rain increased. Back in under an hour including the other caches. TFTC

Today I met up with Green Team 2 for a paddle to grab a few solved puzzles and this was the first. A short paddle on an outgoing tide and we were soon on the beach and headed towards GZ. Once at GZ it was a short search and the cache was soon in hand.
Once the log was signed all was returned as found.

8:38:00 AM. After finally solving this cache a while ago I get a call from Konie about going for a paddle to find it. 3 became 2 so we got in my canoe for the paddle across. Nearly tipped Konie in the water before we got going. We hadn't checked the tide and it was running out fast and we were going sideways for a bit but made it to the beach. A short walk and the search started. A short time later Konie made the find. Log signed. Glad we didn't take the pup for a walk as there are no dog signs there. Thanks for the cache dahumbug

I notice this one when it was published, but didn't really have time to look at it then. After a glorious week on holidays at Straddie, when I returned home I ran my "unfound" pocket query and noticed this rare DT combo puzzle still had not been found.
So I set to solving it. The CO has nicely made all the code part of a picture, which means tedious transcribing. Whilst doing this, I noticed a pattern and soon enough had some coordinates which got a green light from the checker.
Today, I headed north with my kayak with a plan to grab half a dozen or so caches. Knowing the tides, I planned my route to avoid having to paddle against the tide. After a 1.5k paddle, I soon had this cache in my hand and scribed my name in the blank logbook. I managed to collect a number of other puzzles and traditionals and even a virtual. A good day out.
Many thanks dahumbug
