Logs
I did want a more rugged sort of a GZ but with the rain about, my options were a little more limited, so I chose one that was a little more difficult. This must be tricky as we had all those cache hunters in town and this was only found twice that week and last found in October of last year.
I startled a fish swimming in the shadows. It was hiding under a few leaves floating on the surface but only moved when I moved the phone torchlight it’s way, which incidentally was closer to where the cap could be seen. Using my pen to extract it from it’s hide so I could take it over to the car to sign it. The log was dry. All in all a pretty good hide. Have a FP sKatierocks

**This Cache:**
This was my LAST CACHE in Townsville, I had completely "Forgotten" to find it!
The next morning I would wake up and do a couple of the Saint caches just outside town, before leaving for good!
I checked the map one last time, knowing this was my last chance at grabbing anything I wanted, and of course this nice D4 traditional cache had been forgotten, so I had to fix that or it would have lived up to its name even more!
Managed to get a close park and headed over to GZ. If the hint wasn't "Bridge" this could of been a very, very nasty cache! As there are plenty of other potential options at the coordinates to hide something very sneaky. So the search radius was limited, and I managed to find the sneaky little thing within about 5 minutes which was lucky!
Thanks skatierocks!

**Today:**
Day 16 of my road trip from Canberra - Townsville Mega Event!
You can tell I was starting to hit a wall, because my first cache find was at 10:00am and then my second was at 11:00am! Oh my, how lazy for a mega trip! The last find was at 5:00pm too.... a bit different to the first day which was 11pm!
Myself and TikvaNZ decided to team up today to grab 8 kayak caches. We were the Canberrans who had drove instead of flown, we had both hauled a kayak over 7,000km+, so better but it to some more use!
We picked a safe parcel of river which wouldn't have salt water crocodiles in it (we hoped), and also had probably the best looking caches along it. I really wish I could have moved the car and done even more, but I was feeling pretty tired and we agreed to just do some land caches for the second half of the day instead.
I also met up with albida33 who joined me for majority of the land based finds I did today, good to be hanging out with another friend in unknown territory!
All up just 19 cache finds for the day, but once again they were of the best quality and provided a whole lazy day's worth of entertainment! It was good to slow down the pace a bit and just enjoy the caches and company!

During the Easter long weekend, it was all about the Townsville Mega event! Highlights included a hike at Cape Pallarenda Conservation Peak, walks atop the local mountains of Mount Stuart, Castle Hill, and Mount Louisa, checking out a few shady spots along Ross River, sewer pipe / tunnel adventures, and a scuba dive to see the Museum of Underwater Art at John Brewer Reef. The Mega events themselves were fantastic: Gadget lab caches, GPS maze, trivia night, tree planting CITO, and Cal's Escape Room. There was also plenty of geocaching to be had, such as power trailing through the geoarts The Saint and the Book, and the collection of challenge caches at Bushland Beach mudflats. My view of Townsville had completely changed from my trip experience, and much kudos to the Cache Qld Townsville Mega Committee.
In the area today with e.gregory1, we took a stop in a nearby side street in an attempt to find this geocache. This cache had been on our list due to its high difficulty rating. I didn't want to waste a lot of time at these sort of geocaches, so we said we'd give ourselves a few minutes, and then move on if we had to. Well, I should have believed in our searching skills, as e.gregory1 found the cache within five minutes (after I had already checked that area). The cache container and logbook were in good shape. We decided to sign the geocache as DWEG1 (Davidwazza and e.gregory1) to save space in the logbook. Thanks skatierocks for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

Found while in Townsville to attend the Mega event.
I travelled up from Adelaide, taking a week or so so get here, meeting up with FeatherWaite to do some caching around the Cunnamulla area then continuing on to Barcaldine and Charters Towers.
While in Townsville I teamed up with Budgietas, Stainless-steel-rat and Gooseandegg on some days, including a day on Magnetic Island, and with Davidwazza at other times. When caching with Davidwazza, logbooks were signed DWEG1.
All in all it was a great week or so in Townsville, with plenty of great caches found.
Thanks skatierocks for the cache.

Yay thought we would struggle with this one being a 4 for difficulty and a skatierocks hide, and whilst it did take some umms and ahhs we finally got it. Beautiful little spot. TFTC loved it!
Such a beautiful place near my home, I have been to this place many times walking with my geopet Rose (who absolutely loves this place) she jumped in the water. This one was very sneaky but fun.
I had checked the usual spots on a previous visit but as it got too dark I left it for another day. With an open eye I came around once more today and made the find of this well placed cache. Thanks a lot for this cling it in this beautiful small park
Searched around but alas couldn't find a thing!! Will have to come back again another day
I picked a bad time to attempt this. School had just got out and the neighbours dog was alerting everyone to my presence. Not wanting to be loitering with my white van parked nearby I was glad to make the quick find between traffic once my neck was fully extended.
I’m sure the FTF’er wished my D4 puzzle was a easy, as it seems TSV has .
Thanks skatierocks for placing this for us to enjoy. Nice location.

Popped down after these dropped with the thought that it was the only one that burgo78 wasn’t responsible for only to find it was easier to find at least one of his tonight instead. Messaged to CO who offered to add a hint to the mix much to our relief. Upon checking the clue for that vital piece of information, it became clear that the CO had an amusing sense of humour. With both of our phone torches becoming exhausted both the green one and I packed out tails between our legs and slinked off, admitting defeat. More clotheyes. So many caches dropped, with too many out of our reach
Okay skatie, you have broken BenM70 and greencordial this evening Met a confused Ben at the GZ for the race (he thought I was in Mackay ) . We have no idea. Maybe daylight will help. Ben did almost go into the drink at one stage, I screamed- laughed.
This was a much quicker find on the return visit. I’m certain that the light from our phones was definitely enough to spot this last night. Maybe it wasn’t quite looking from the right angle or at the right spot as would have to be the case. Nice hide sKatie. Had me baffled last night and had me baffled today how I/we didn’t see it last night. Maybe I forgot how to find them. [FTF] 16/06/2020 13:17
