A nice quick find. Wow, what a lot of work has gone into this cache. Fav Point from me, and the bus shelter was a good place to stand while we solved the puzzle box. Thanks for placing and maintaining your cache.

Ms_KR and I are off on our annual pilgrimage to Auckland to visit family. Today we cruised from Gisborne to Whakatane. The weather was fine mostly but there was a small amount of rain as we headed down the Waioeka Gorge.

Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. .

Wow, what a special box! Good clues for a quick solve and a favorite point for an outstanding creation. Loved reading more about Himitsu-Baku which is very traditionally based. TeamDJ*

What a beautiful cache!! Easy point.
Really enjoyed the riddle!!

What an amazing container!! Looks like some people have forced in the past tho looking at how it works. Absolutely brilliant work though!!!

Got this faster than I was expecting having put aside the day, 10 minute grab for us today

I stopped here last night and after evicting a number of cockroaches took the cache back to my car to figure it out, spent a while trying to figure out the password and decided to call it quits after 10 pm. It had been a long day, l flew out of Christchurch to Napier at 8 am then drove up as far as Tolaga Bay then cached my way back to Gisborne and I was exhausted. Now I'm on my way back to Napier, last night I messaged a previous finder who gave me a good tip. It still took me ages to open the very well contructed container as its not easy to turn the wheels. Thanks for an awesome hide TeamDJ*

WOW!

RubbishParty had recommended we check out this cache before we leave town.

Needless to say we were not disappointed.

Incredible craftsmanship! Seriously.

This is easily on the top of all of the geocaches I have found. It probably belongs more in a museum than behind a bus stop.

The solve was reasonably quick, but I spent a good deal of time admiring the cache.

Amazing.

Thanks for the fun!

This could easily be one of the coolest geos we have done. Such amazing craftsmanship.

08-Mar-22
This one was recommended to us, so it was our first stop on the way to whakatane.
The first job was getting the outer container open then we evicted the multiple cockroaches. The next stage took awhile, but mr rattll was on the ball and came up with the solution.
What a lot of work has gone into making this clever cache.
We left a homemade rattll coin.
Thanks for the fun

It's my Mega weekend road trip! This is day seven and I'm off to Gisborne around the Cape (but not the lighthouse, sadly). Will expand on my logs, post photos, qualifying caches for challenges, etc. When I get home. TFTC+FP

For such a highly regarded cache, there was no way I want going to come out here and take a look, and I wasn't disappointed. It looked like it was going to be at race between myself and the ominous dark cloud so I grabbed the whole thing to sort out in the car, not realising that I was bringing a multi-generational family of cockroaches with me! Nevertheless after turfing them out I got to work on the impressive puzzle. I'm glad to say it didn't take me long to work it out, but it does help if you get the first clue correct! Managed to get in and sign the log. Everything put back together. Definitely worth a favourite.

#1826. Day 10 of our (GB Leader and I) 12 day Hawkes Bay odyssey to watch grandsons play cricket. Then on Saturday, after grandson #1 finished his tournament, it was off to Gisborne.

First time for me in Gisborne for something like 35 years. Shame my arrival coincided with Cyclone Cody and a tsunami. This morning it was back to Napier for grandson #2’s tourney. But first, time for this recommended cache. A slight detour off our route, but was it worth it?

Yes, it was - it’s not really a letterbox cache (was it ever?) but a puzzle cache extraordinaire! Great excitement when we gleaned the solution and had the log in hand. FP for sure. Caches like this make this game the joy that it is.

I'm on a trip with my Mum and two youngest children. We're doing a quick tour of the North Island. We walked around the rim of the Waihi gold mine and stayed in Tauranga the first night. Stayed at Lottin Point then yesterday we headed to Gisborne. Today we're off to Napier then Turangi tomorrow before heading to our old stomping ground Palmerston North. We're then off to Whanganui, New Plymouth, then Taumaranui via the Forgotten Highway. A quick dash down to the Raurumu spiral before going up to Waitomo Caves. Back to Auckland for a few days with family, the long awaited 2020/2022 Mega then home to Whangarei.

I was hoping to get enough of the first TMGT caches to complete the Tauranga, Gisborne and Taranaki areas. In the end I failed on all counts. A great disappointment to get all the way out to the East Cape lighthouse to find the track closed yesterday too.

I didn't get many caches in Gisborne but I got another Monopoly Street. I'd seen all the favourite points on this cache so I was very keen to get it. We were all very pleased we came here. We sent pictures back home to the muggle family who loved it too. My Mum very quickly worked out the answer and my son did the opening. Absolutely deserving of it's favourite points. Thank you for such a fun hide Smile

WOW, what a cool cache! Didn't take long to sort out how to access the cache, took time to examine the workings. Really impressive. Thanks for a great cache, well worth a favourite point. TFTC

Found with PositiveTuna. Awesome handcrafted puzzle box, been doing crosswords with PositiveTuna so he managed to guess the answer right away!

Box needs maintenance!! It has become an ants nest

Found with Ninja_star. Amazing craftsmanship for the puzzle box! A shame about the ants

All well in order and save.

Wow, this was great. The cache was quickly found and malinkaly made short work of getting at the logbook. Favourite point from me for such a well crafted cache.
Malinkaly and I planned a road trip to go to the MEGA but Covid has postponed the event again. We decided to continue on with our planned journey making adjustments as we go with the ever-changing travel restrictions.
Greetings from Dunedin!
Thanks for the cache, TeamDJ*

Off to Napier this morning but first we need a few more funds to complete a Challenge cache back home.
This is easily our most favourite find of our trip. Awesome field puzzle. While Ms M and I were puzzling over the answers, Mrs TeamDJ and two little DJ’s appeared. Thankfully they had time to stop and say hello and give us a nudge for Q2. Ms M had a good chat with Mrs DJ while I extracted the log book. Thanks very much for the cache. +two FP’s if we could.

A plan was hatched recently to hit the Gisborne area this weekend. Nice to get away after the recent lockdown and grab some smiles. Got there in the end. Great puzzle. A Fp

I am logging using the Cachly app template so please excuse generic logging along the way. It’s just my way of keeping track, but I do genuinely thank each and every one of you cache owners for taking the time and energy to place these caches. Many Thanks for bringing me here. Cheers.

Talking of a trip to Gisborne, two geocaching friends, Yeetrees and Rubbishparty said we must visit this one. So here we are, puzzle in hand and not making much progress. Got the first word OK and then somewhat defeated. Didn't want to spend all afternoon here so phoned Yeetrees and with amazing recall he helped us out. A few jiggles and the log book was in hand. A very memorable cache! Thanks TeamDJ* it is highly recommended, and another favourite added.

What an amazing thing to do. Our first ever letterbox cache. So excited to have worked it out and sign the log.

We are on our summer holiday, we usually take a few weeks and travel around the South Island, but this year we are heading around the North Island. Heading up the West coast and back down the East coast. Finding only a select few caches along the way, we are mostly targeting some challenges we have qualified for, some large size caches, some that fill gaps in our date placed grid, a few D/T combinations, some with lots of favourite points, letterboxes and anything else that grabs our fancy.

I had a fall on day two of our holiday, while out geocaching which has resulted in a fractured bone in my leg and I am in a moon boot and with crutches and I was told to keep weight off my leg. So I am only limited use when it comes to our trip now. I tend to stay in the campervan and just hand out suggestions of when and where GK should search.

This was our target cache for when we were leaving Gisborne. We quickly found the container and as it was just starting to spit again we took it to the campervan to see what we could do with it. As it turned out not much for quite a while lol. GK suggested what turned out to be the first word and then we didn't get very far very fast. So gk put the billy on and made lunch while I fiddled and had a think, then it was like 'how did I not think of that earlier'.
This most definately gets a favourite for the workmanship and the frustration and then the relief.

Thanks for placing this cache and thank you for the smiley.

With Gap (of Fap and Gap), brother and nephew... We've had our eyes on the Motu Trail over the years, but haven't had enough motivation to journey that way - until today...

Decisions, decisions... Do we turn back at Rere, or do we drive on to Gisborne? The fact that we are now logging this cache says we chose the latter. This was a good one! We overcomplicated the internal puzzle, and it took someone with a logical brain to crack it. We endured the disruption of householders... twice! Thanks TeamDJ* and TFTC.

Staying at the NZMCA in Gissy for a few days so we spent today wandering around doing a few caches. After visiting Gray's Bush we were on our way back and saw this cache and wondered what it was. We were sort of expecting a letterbox cache and what we found was way more. We have done a cache on this theme down Wanganui way so knew what had to be done. We thought about it and tried a few words but nothing was working. None of our choices were long enough. We were standing by the geocamper, thinking hard, when a car turned into the driveway and a voice said " have you got it yet" Ah, no. We replied. The driver of the vehicle turned out to be the CO who very helpfully gave us a few clues. She had her two boys with her and then the other half of the team came over so we had a lovely chat in the driveway and admired his handiwork of the puzzle. All hand made, beautifully crafted and the parts fitted together perfectly. Have a well deserved FAV.

Thanks very much TeamDJ* and it was lovely to meet and chat with you.

Wow, yes I have found a vaguely similar cache in this vein before but I hadn't read the brief before leaping out of the motor home. Grabbed cache and opened it- what? Brought it back to our motor home parked precariously on the side of the road. Gotta sort this quickly! Spotted the hint and had an idea for the first part. Then the rest just flowed on quickly from there. Yus. Very cool cache and incredible construction. Thanks for bringing us here teamDJ

I now have a challenge to learn how to complete Puzzle Caches
I luv second chances Smile

We found the container then sat in our van to figure out how to get the log. Mr nzk got it on his first attempt after finding the hint! Mrs nzk was very impressed with his cleverness. We loved this. TFTC and a fave from us, it deserves lots more!

Travelling from Gisborne today to Napier with Nosynel and Ethness. Our goal is to find all the TMGT caches in a big figure 8 across the centre of the North Island. What an amazing container! We got an answer and released the cache. The work that went into this is amazing. Thank you for an excellent cache.

This was a really neat cache!!! I am on a North Island Figure of Eight tour. For the first 4 days I spend time in the Bay of Plenty with my husband JDScout in Rotorua. Now I am on part one of the eight loop going around the Eastern Cape. This part is being done with my good friends Ethness and Jude_E.
Thanks TeamDJ* for creating this hide. It was find 8984 for me.

======== NZ Mega 2021 ========
Planning for the NZ Mega 2021 event is well underway. It will be held in Auckland over Labour Weekend, October 2021

I have seen a similar cache holder in Whanganui and like them both. Excellent idea. Favourite given.

Jude_E, NosyNel and I are continuing on our figure of 8 tour of the North Island collecting the ‘Tour’ caches, plus others, plus seeing the scenery, plus having a good old time. TFTC.

Cheers for the cache.

A well deserved Fav for the construction of this cache. I have very sore fingers now but at least I can go on my merry way satisfied I was able to figure it out.
Awesome cache and very nice to see the extra effort made to make this memorable. The CO either lives here or has very tolerant friends.

What an amazing cache! We were going to visit some friends nearby so had to have a look at this new cache. Located quickly but then the fun began! After a few minutes we had that aha moment and the puzzle was solved. Puzzles like these are the ones that keep you geocaching Thanks so much - would give it a double favourite, but one will have to do.
