Found on day two of my Townsville trip. I could certainly feel the warmer climate up here, but some of the views around town are phenomenal, the water is really clear in parts!Whilst on a morning stroll checked the maps to see this one happened to be on my route! I'm very thankful to have some locals to show me around to some of the cool caches in Town, TFTC! Absolute top location for a cache to highlight if you ask me, thanks for making me slow down here. Have a fav point.
After completing maintenance to return GC to its original hide, I have replaced today. 9:15am
Disabling this GC as I need to do some maintenance on it to get it back to its original state, as suspected by some geocachers. They were right!
I wonder if the protective covering has changed since first placement???Did find a shell-like beach morning glory nearby thoughTFTC----------------------------------------------------------Are you ready for Victorias next big event?Join us for Victorias first ever *Block Party* to celebrate 25 years of geocaching.**When:** March 22 - 23, 2025**Where:** Hume Global Learning Centre, SunburyLog your will attend at [**GCAP417: The Sunbury Event** ](https://coord.info/GCAP417) Visit our [**Block Party website** ](https://geocachingvictoria.com.au/the-sunbury-event) for more details on the exciting lineup of events and activities as they are released!
On school excursion with kids so thought i would have a look before they got here. TFTF
Certainly was missing. Rectified and did take note of the information on the sign and reflected back on how naughty some geocachers I know are
A bit of a search in the dark for this well hidden cache with a beautiful view of the last light of the day. Not quite sure how it's sea themed but let's go with it! Thanks.
Caching in the area we pick up a few caches along the way and this was one of them.
Enjoyed exploring the area, cache and contents were in good condition.
Many thanks for placing this cache and adding to our geocaching experience today.

Heute einen Spaziergang Richtung The Strand gemacht und dabei auch hier vorbeigekommen. Die Dose konnte rasch gefunden werden. Logbook is completely full and should be replaced.

A great spot for a stroll today

In between their comings and goings,
I saw this sea shell by the sea shore

A quick stroll away from the Barracks for a couple of mangrove-side options. Nice and easy here, thanks
A Saturday off before some more tasks tomorrow so keen to make the most of it. Got dropped off at 0900 at Jezzine Barracks and wandered up and down (and under!) The Strand and covered just over 18kms on foot before investing in a taxi back 'home'. A productive day, though not massive numbers, and a few Ad Lab stages, but enough to keep ticking over and seeing more of Townsville's charms. Thanks to all COs for their efforts.

Having arrived in Townsville last night far too late to get any caching done, today marked the first day of finds for me in this little part of the world.
However, it was put on hold while my morning was tainted by a revision lecture scheduled for today that had already been paid for a few months ago (Boo! Hiss!)
Townsville must be the most picturesque location I've ever attended a Zoom meeting... but once it was out of the way, we were off for a walk-there-scoot-back adventure!
We barely had to stop walking for this simple trad; an obvious location and a typical hide to see in such a spot.
Nice and quick, which is good to see sometimes!
As others have noted, the log is becoming a tad full and could use a replacement in the near future.
Thanks to skatierocks for placing this one here!

Quick find by Mr CNQ, which was just as well as the caching time got whittled down to an hour between shopping and committments back in Charters. Girls were keen for a run in the new car, but more interested in Stockland than caches near the sea. Neat location thanks skatierocks.
I Made the find late in the afternoon. Thanks for placing another great hide Skatierocks. You certainly have a lot of great caches around town. I signed the log as EW to save room. I then took my dogs for a walk. I hope you and your geomunchkins have a merry Christmas ️
Quick stop here to pick up the easy find after resurfacing from the tunnels after looking for Turtles.
Thanks Skatie.
Thanks Skatie.
Lovely day out grabbing a few caches here along this walk.
Found remains of the cache cover, but there was no log. Needs to be replaced.

Great Northern escape 2022 Day 82. Townsville second visit Day 2. After a day off yesterday, I decided to have a bigger day today. I started in the city, then went out to the port region and then headed back around the strand to finish along Pallerang road. Back to urban caching is a challenge, and several DNFs today. I was very happy to find those I was able to and I enjoyed a fantastic pie from a convenience store in Belgian Gardens.
The cover is still there but it is not glued any more. A relevant cache for this spot.
Thanks for the cache skatierocks

Friend Musy13 went for a walk to check on this one and cache was lying on the ground with no magnet. This is just after the find of Piggy357 and GeoKidNQ
We seen that this cache was up and running again.. We called back to turn our blue face into a smile.. All good here
4pm - Came down here to check on my GC as I suspected it may require maintenance due to recent logs; only to find someone has given Sea My Shell the required TLC she needed. A huge THANK YOU to the geocacher who has given her the TLC I would have needed to give, I’m very grateful!! Townsville Geocaching Mob Rock!!
We found this one on our holiday to Townsville. After the mega we had a couple of free days to enjoy Townsville and do a bit more exploring. This one was found along the way.
Thanks skatierocks

Day 14 of a 3 week holiday driving from Canberra to Townsville and back to attend the Mega. The morning started with doing more of the Ross River Power Trail by bike/scooter with Albida33. I then headed for the Jezzine Barracks area, followed by some more caches at Pallarenda. Initially I just found the camo on the ground. After contacting the CO, and some more searching I found the cache. TFTC.

I did not think it was possible but we had another fantastic day of caching again today. The plan was to first go for a walk into a tunnel for this cache, grab another while at the start. We then would drive around town and down towards Pallarenda collecting some challenge caches and ones that we both did not have along the way. Thanks for the caches and the puzzles, the caches up in Townsville are on a different level and it inspires me to create and make more fun caches.
All caches that were found today had the logs signed and the caches replaced as found.
a quick easy find here, the outer casing has come apart

My 8th Townsville caching day. After an early start, chamad and myself headed towards Pallarenda to grab the AL point and collect some caches along the way up.
A quick find here, although the top part had come off the cache and was lying on the ground at gz. I have placed it near the cache.
Thanks skatierocks for the cache and for bringing us here.

Caching in Townsville with Youban and Tankengine for the week while attending the Townsville Mega Event.
This cache: We ran into the CO at the Visitors Centre cache who let us know she had fixed this up.
We decided to head over and make the find, which was very quick. Had to take a photo of the landscape while I waited for a group of muggles to pass before I could grab it though. ?? Tftc!!!

We parked opposite and were heading to GZ when someone in the units called out "good luck". We needed it too, but it didn't pay off. Our indicated GZ was out in the mangroves, so we concentratred our search a little closer to the road. Lots of rocks, stones, small shells, but no cache. We felt a bit like looking for a needle in a haystack. On our return to the GeoPrado, the voice from the units asked how we'd gone. We said no good, and the reply was that nobody has found it (recently, we presume). Our thanks anyway to skatierocks.
This GC is indeed missing as expected from the DNF’s reported. Will need to replace SeeMyShell! I will disable until I have a new GC to replace the one that’s gone walkabout.
We meet with the flat owner across the street, he said people have been stoping here for a while and then drive off.. We Showed him all about geoing.. Any way we all looked no luck to day .
The coords take you to an open mown grassed area, where there is nothing remotely possible to hide a cache at.
As CO, I have noted the DNF's for this GC & will check on it tomorrow to see if it is still in place. I assure you there is an item of interest at GZ where GC is located, if it is still there & not missing or misplaced.
Logging old caches originally found with alphag_25. Now have my own account and logging them separately so that I can claim the finds.
With my nephew! Signed as GC, GQLD, LM09. I hope to see you back in the game again Skatie.
