Short Trip Away Day #3 [25/11] of 3Day three of my holidays (and day #3 of 3 for my trip away) saw me leaving the motel early to start the day. I started by heading over to Fyshwick for a couple of caches over there. For nice easy-ish ones. Three in the Fyshwick Forrest and one over in the park next to Maryborough St. After finding those ones, I headed over to Belconnen to find a couple of others and then onto the Mall for lunch. While at the Mall, I also did a game of 10 pin bowling because why not? I got a score of 120. Once I finished up in the Mall, I started making my way home. I found the next lot of power trail caches along Dog Trap Rd. I have decided on doing these caches section by section given, I drive past/through here so much. From there, I headed home while finding one more in Binalong before getting home. It was a great weekend away and I quite enjoyed catching up with everyone. TB visit. Some caches were signed as JM. A big thanks to the CO for adding this cache to game for the Geocaching community to enjoy. TFTCs!
Spending some time caching around the NSW/ACT southern tablelands with lots of side trips. TFTC.A trip out to Murrumbateman for a winery and then a few caches. Nice.Nice quick climb until the branch broke. Survived.
Find# 12312Took about ten minutes to spot the securing hardware and a small climb. We are on a long weekend caching tour..TFTC ALL7
Found it: 30/03/2024Sorry for falling behind with logs. Ive been busy catching up with family and also been unwell. I havent completed logs from events - QOBM, Leap Day and Canberra Mega, so am catching up now. Thank you for the cache and hunt.
Quick find on our way through this afternoon. Not a very pleasant day as the wind and dust was up around our faces but we survived. TFTC ALL7.
Full time Nomads, travelling around Australia since 2014. Staying a week or so in Yass, today we headed out late morning. Fantastic warm weather today, woo hoo! Headed south today looking for caches as we head towards a major milestone.TFTC ALL7

More big days of caching as WAC consisting of Lachlan1.77, Leg5, neva2old, Barnzy12 and me. So many caches, so little time. Too many tree climbs for my liking but Im a chicken from way back. Thanks to other cachers for helping supply some of the required tools for the higher terrain caches. Thanks to you (and DARKSIDEDAN) for supplying the bulk of the hides Im finding.
Over here for Capital GeoBash Mega. One of many hidden caches all over the city and surrounds on Mega Day itself. Part of deaf geocachers and friends - WACDG, TFTC
Found with a group and signed as WACDG during Mega event. ALL7, thank you so much for placing it for everyone to enjoy and highlighting this area.
Since I'm in Canberra for Mega, I've enjoyed seeing many places as well as the warm weather. Here's one to find today.Thank you for placing the cache ALL7.
Another massive day with the WA Crew signing WAC. If we arent up trees, we are wading through water or hiking mountains. We are grateful for locals who have shared their TOTT with us. Since we all flew to get to Canberra, it wasnt possible to bring the tools necessary for the high terrain caches. For some of the day we cached with an awesome group signing DG as deaf group; truly a generous and welcoming group. Thanks for your contribution in hiding this cache to make our experience as amazing as its been so far. Please forgive us if the dates are incorrect; we are catching up online logging whenever we find time.
Out and about again, headed around Canberra for the MEGA. Super excited my first MEGA and heading over with 2 others from the Cockburn Crew - signed log as WAC to save time. This is 14721, hoping to clock over the 15,000 finds in the week in New South Wales and ACT.Thanks to ALL7 for the caches we found.********** ********** ********** ********** ********** **********OZMEGA2024 OZMEGA2024 OZMEGA2024 OZMEGA2024 OZMEGA2024 OZMEGA2024********** ********** ********** ********** ********** **********Head over to Australian Capital Territory for Capital GeoBash MEGA - Canberras first ever Mega Event. A day out caching west of Murrumbateman saw Team JAR finding quite a few caches but leaving the high climbs etc to the more able cachers. Thanks to all the COs for placing and maintaining their caches for us to find and admire the lovely countryside.
Out caching today with friends. 4 of us having a fun time each trying to be the first to get a hold of the cache. We signed as team JARS to save log room. Joojoo57, Aussie Liahona, RichmondLad and Selva Girls. Many thanks to all the COs who hid the caches we found today for ensuring this was a great caching day while we were attending the MEGA.Cheers and happy caching!

Geoturtle37 and I are making our way towards the Capital GeoBash. We are looking for a few caches along the way. This is one that we were hoping to visit as it was a dnf previously. Now it has a smiley. Very happy to have turned the frown upside down. Thanks for placing the cache for all to find.
Found after a short search, with lots of potential locations. Thanks for the cache ALL7
Reperio 14:11This was Day 3 of our camping getaway to Yass to go in search for some of the local geocaches, and things got off to a very early start being woken up by some extra enthusiastic 4WDers, so we decided to leave where we were and resume where we left off yesterday. With approximately 150 caches found today, we had an awesome day with only about 10 DNFs, and managed to either replace broken containers or do some log maintenance along the way. Out and about with FFLL#1 and ALL7 to pick up some countryside caches. Was nice weather today and we managed to get our names in all the caches we attempted. There were a couple we didnt attempt due to their placements but thats all good. Logs signed as FAR (FurfacesLL, ALL7 and Rapidlywild) for those which we all needed, otherwise it was individual names.
Found with the CO on board, good to get a few more of these Dragonstone caches checked off.
Thanks for the cache placement ALL7 and thanks for a nice day out FFLL and ALL7.

#11479 - 9:44:00 AM; Headed out again today with Sol de lune as we continue our work on a couple of personal challenges to raise daily cache finds and also complete loops of different cache types. Finished off a few more in this series today in the rain, leaving a couple of 'higher' terrain caches for another day when we have th necessary TOTT and things are not as slippery. All caches found today were in good order and logs signed Sdl & LL or similar. TFTC ALL7
Out this way again with LuckyL10n to grab a few more in the series. Decided to start at the far end and work our way back to home.
Tricky little devil this one. Took a little while to spy it and then another minute or two to get up to it. LL signed the log while I’ll waited in situ. Log and cache replaced and we were on our way.

Thank you for the series, we are back to complete it. We enjoyed this as it had a bit of everything from very easy to needing equipment to complete. Great fun cheers!
Fun, adventure, travel, history, geology, mental stimulation, social gatherings, support and friendship are just some of the elements of geocaching.
Out and about enjoying the opportunity to grab a few caches, yours being one of those I targeted on my journey today. Thanks ??

We stamped the logs as "The Mob" to save space in the logs - today there were 6 teams caching together: Team Crackers, The Drovers, Phetlern, Alansee, the lovely micaparamedic and myself.
Most of the cache finds were straight forward, yet a couple stumped us. A few were located where it was difficult to safely pull the car off of the road, but we made it work with some creative maneuvers.
2020 was not a great year, and the beginnings of 2021 have also been tricky - so when it looked like the various borders would be open again (without quarantine restrictions), a trip that was planned at the Clear Waters mega was able to occur.
Adelaide, Victoria, NSW and Canberra - a decent drive, filled with various caching activities including Adventure Labs.
Several days caching with the awesome Team Crackers, gorgeous The Drovers, fab Phetlern, cool Alansee, and the lovely micaparamedic.
We laughed, sang to a vast variety of songs and chatted - almost non-stop! [^] We piled into cars and had such a fun time. Despite the light showers, windy conditions at times, we also had sunny days to enjoy caching in.
A sincere thanks to ALL7 for placing these caches, including the enjoyable little series.

Did this cache with a group who logged as THE MOB. We had to replace quite a few logbooks and caches. All in all we were appreciative of the CO's efforts in putting them out.
A plan was formulated at the Queanbyann Mega to come and attack some of the Canberra trails nut unfortunately in 2019 the bush fires put paid to our plans and then Co-vid got in the way and with things looking settled we took the opportunity to get the group together and head up here to try our luck.
Day 1 turned into a great day. although parking was quite difficult at some locations but we managed with a bit of a walk here and there. We replaced quite a few soggy log books and cache containers that we were positive were missing and had a great time collecting some nice terrain and difficulty's, some of which took quite awhile to spot, even with this many eyes. We only had one dnf for the day.
To save room in the logs we signed the logbooks as the Mob consisting of Alansee, Goodlook. Micaparamedic. Phetlern, Team Crackers and The Drovers.
Thanks to all the cache owners for these hides and a great fun day.
Setting out from Murrumbateman in glorious autumn weather, we had a fabulous day of fun, friendship and caching in the great company of Alansee, Good Look, Micaparamedic, Team Crackers and The Drovers. (For economy of space logs of caches we found are stamped "The Mob"

Once in the GZ I had the choice of a few trees. Took some time staring up and finally spotted the hanging equipment. Made the short climb up the tree and grabbed the cache. Stepped back down to fill the log and back up to return the cache.
Thanks ALL7.
Thanks ALL7.
To finish off the year The Rats, Hoojar and I teamed up for another caching run down around the Yass area. We certainly had a great 24hr run finding plenty of caches (in some long grass!) The spate of recent hides around this area with five star terrain rating meant we scored plenty of stars with our finds and had some interesting caches. Great area and some great caching. TFTC!
After a difficult Covid 2020, The Rats floated the idea of a trip to Yass with Steeba and myself. We compared diaries, and had a 24 hour mid-week window where we could make things happen.
Thankfully the predicted rain held off, for the most part, and we were able to tour around the region collecting many of the new caches that have appeared of late.
A lot of excellent caches were found, and some fantastic terrain caches too. I was introduced to the concept that all caches cannot be climbed to, it still feels foreign to me!
Thank you to all of the cache owners for placing their hides.
Cheers

The Rats, steeba and Hoojar were keen to fit in one more caching trip before the curtain came down on 2020. With our personal calendar's filling fast, the best we could do was a midweek juggernaut for 24 hours.
The influx of caches around Yass was our target, so with some careful route planning we tackled a number of trails in the area.
This was one of our targetted trails for the night. The long grass made many of the hides alot harder than expected.
Thanks to all the CO's for your caches. We had a great time bantering one another, trialling our new TOTT, staying one step ahead of the weather and one eye on what lurked in the grass. Thanks.

The original plan was a walk in some of the high country but with some road closures it was changed to GOM's going to the ACT and Yass for a few day walks and caches.
This was our last and biggest day for numbers. On realising Yass is a little sleeping for early morning cafes PPE, Crash 2079 and myself went and completed the first part of the WIG's and challenge caches (about 32) before breakfast and then came back out again to finish off the rest and having the obligatory Maccas stop.
Given the numbers found I decided to see if I could push for a few more so onto the Dragonstone trail it was with a few nice higher T ones in there.
Plenty of finding and signing was done as we worked our way around.

On arrival home from my dive trip to Cairns I was met at the airport by Smittengranny, and what else could we do next but go out for an afternoon caching. First, one of the new Wherigos, then the remaining Dragon Stone series out towards Yass. All went smoothly today and we did not even need the ladder. The grass is just as long as I remember !

Out on an early morning caching mission with TikvaNZ to top up our respective cache numbers for the day. After all the rain, it was a lovely morning to be out and about - blue skies even! Despite best efforts, we both ended up with very wet shoes and jeans after wading through water courses and long wet grass. However 8 found from 8 searched for, so a successful mini mission!
A quickly avenged DNF once we realised a climb was needed!
Thanks ALL7 for the cache and the fun!

Went on a country tour today and enjoyed all the finds made with ilook4geo. We found most of the caches we looked for, but gave some a miss when we couldn't see it up high or it was not really accessible. Many thanks go to ALL7 for placing this extensive series of caches.

Wanting to grab a few caches today (I know - nuts) we headed out in the rain and drove to this end of the series to work backwards. Luckily for us it stopped raining while we did our desired total for the day. The caches were found without issue unless otherwise mentioned.

Headed out with fitzy_1965 on a rainy day to get a few caches near Yass.
Thankfully the rain abated long enough to let us collect the caches we wanted. Still ended up with wet feet when having to jump large puddles to get back to the car along the way.
Quick find here today.

Time to finish off this series today on a trip to Yass.
Or so I thought. Unfortunately there were several tree climbs I didn't even attempt. If I couldn't spot the cache from the ground and previous logs were unpromising I didn't even try for it. Although I did successfully score one or two less challenging climbs.

Aquilus1, Tankengine and I had met up with Kittykatch and Joolay to work together to pick up the tree climb caches along this trail then we went our separate ways. Tftc ALL7!!!
Came out caching today with dty73 and Aquilus1. Mainly to complete this trail. We teamed up with Joolay and KittyKatch for a few of the tree climbs. The weather was beautiful, the company wonderful, and the caches, well, very average... But at least we got some smilies! Thanks for the cache ALL7.
It was a very chilly morning to head out with dty73 and Tankengine and meet up with kittykatch and Joolay. The Dragonstone cache series was the target, to join up and tackle the tree climbs. Always good with a nice group and there was a lot of fun and laughter to be had!
Indeed it was a good move as some required assistance, most are good with a ladder but there are some that need a very tall ladder, a good climber, probably both... but also the extra hands to hold the ladder steady.
We met at #47 and made our way back to Jaggy Jeir stopping at the caches T3 or above as they seemed to require some element of up. For a sunny bright blue sky morning it was icy cold. The wind blew straight through and the hands froze, not good for some of the tiny micros but we managed to get all we set out to achieve done.
Jaggy Jeir has been on my to do list for a while and a lovely location, was also nice to finally feel some heat from the sun as we walked along! It was here we said goodbye to Joolay and Kittykatch as we headed north to complete the rest of the series not up a tree, found a few T2.5 that were up but simple stuff.
The caches we had wanted complete, it was into Yass for lunch with time to find a few local caches before getting home early afternoon. Thanks for the cache ALL7, a lovely scenic area and a nice drive through made more enjoyable with team work and great company.
Any information about the cache has been added below the cut and paste trip log here.
Look up! It's a climb up!! Thomas says his a tree hugger, go Thomas!

Friday and time for the weekend, and what could be better than getting in the mood than a few caches! TikvaNZ also wanted a few caches today so we headed out to the Dragonstone series to get a few quick ones mid afternoon. We started at the end (north end) and headed south. I found 9 caches (out of 10 we looked for) and TikvaNZ found a few more. Then home just as it got dark. All caches found were found in accordance with the hints and in good condition.
Despite looking high and low, this was unfortunately a DNF this time around. Maybe I will have better luck next time? Anyway, thanks for the cache listing and I will have another look next time I am in the area.

**This Series:**
Came with DSD today to find caches #20 - #59 in the Dragonstone series, minus a couple of high D/T ones that we got a FTF on a night time adventure when they came out
It was an enjoyable drive along the country road, some caches are potentially on private property however, as the road seems to act as a thoroughfare but parking and walking off-track felt a bit iffy. All caches were still found however, and we even met ZQX, Angel, Fox and Tikva at one of the T4 caches before going opposite directions again.
Every cache was in good condition, no problems at all! One of the T4's had fallen out of the tree however, which is where we met the others, but with 6 pairs of eyes and after 15 minutes TikvaNZ spotted it amongst the grass, and we returned it back to where we assumed it was meant to be according to a previous finder who we PAF'd
Thanks ALL7 for the series, still have a few of the early numbers unfound (as DSD had already done them), but maybe I'll be back in the future.
There is nothing better than a sunday trip getting caches. Signed dsd. Thanks for the cache and the adventure. All caches were an easy find and all were in great condition with plenty of room in the logbooks. Parking is hard at some of the caches in thjs series. Becareful as the road is very busy.

Well we were only going out to get a cache for the day and bam three new caches were released. So change of plans and KK picked me up and off we went. We expected others to come out so would have been happy with one. But they didn't so we picked them up. We decided to head back for one we missed the other day when the phone went crazy with notifications. So we turned around and went racing for the new ones. Some were tricky, some were easy but some we just left as they needed better light to even see let alone climb for. We found all the new ones except for the ones we could not do and its been a total highlight as I have never found so many in one go, so was pretty excited. Now to log them all as KK put in the notifications as we went along. TFTC the new series ALL7
