Logs
We have moved to Caboolture staying at the showgrounds for a few days.In the afternoon we did a couple of ALs & a few other caches that were nearby. Thanks for placing this cache Waz and Vik
Found log laying on the ground with no cache in sight. With COs permission have replaced the cache container and returned to hiding place. All good to go. Thanks Waz & VIK!
2597 - I headed out to the Central Lakes Estate after a near by appointment. I hadn't explored this area before, so in the middle of completing the Adventure Lab series here, I grabbed a couple of traditionals as well. This one was the first, and I found it easily and in good condition at 9:51am. Thanks for placing this one here Waz and Vik and thanks also for the Adventure Lab. I left Bluey the Travel Bug here as I haven't found a cache big enough to leave him in, that was also in a safe location since I grabbed him.
Nice find! The Geokids had given up, the geoteen tried his best but it was Geomum for the win
No luck here today. Hopefully just one of those days when I just cant see for looking
We spent some time searching for the cache . Then there it was on the ground under some litter. It's definitely there. Singnedand retuned cache to where thought it was meant to be.
Wanted to attempt this one on a late Saturday afternoon, but a number of families still enjoying kicking a ball nearby so searching was impossible. Will be back another day.
On the ground near GZ were a couple of feathers. Maybe they were a rarity when I was a kid so I picked them up for a photo. I felt pretty chuffed until we kept walking and found some more. Then we found what was left of the ibis carcass with the rest of the feathers.
The hand sanitiser came out faster than a dog chasing its tail. We then started trying to work out what had massacred an ibis and left the remains scattered across such a big area.
Maybe the ibis had been attacked by a dog, however across the lake we saw a whole gaggle of ibis fighting each other over scraps. Then it became clear that ibis are just like cannibals and eat their own. Surely it’s more hygienic to eat your own family than dive into bins like chickens. tftc

Apologies for the late log here (08.01.24) but I've had a busy time since getting back to the UK.I stopped off at this park for the local ALs and naturally couldn't resist the local caches too. No problems here. Which was nice.TNLN-TFTC!SP (UK) on an epic trek right around the world.
Wandering around the lake after doing a couple of AdLab waypoints, Shazzar66 and I made our way to the Hungry Hippo. Unfortunately the cache container is gone but log thankfully the log was still there.
We signed the log ShaDup, for Shazzar66 and Duppers, and we put a rock on top on top of the log.
Needs maintenance here. Thanks Waz and Vik

Headed out with Duppers for the after.
Decided to hit a few around Caboolture. We found the log sheet only as the cache has gone missing. Signed as ShaDup.
Cache will require maintenance.

No mud wallowing for hungry hippo here today but he was doing a good job of guarding the cache . TFTC
What a novel cache container. We were amazed by the number of ibises nestled around the lake nearby. Thanks Waz and Vik
HQ has said they will give us 3 souvenirs if we find 100 caches this month. With less than 2 weeks to go we have come south to make the finds. Collected the first 2 souvenirs easily enough. Now for the hard one.
Another one found around this nice park.

Did this on the way home from chamad's event. There was 45 minutes delay on M1, so I diverted towards the ad lab in this area.
Thank you for the cache Waz and Vik.
Cute guardian. Was out in the open.

it took me a while to zero in on the cache as the GPS was pointing me out into the park. Eventually i spotted the cache pretty well exposed. I signed the clean log sheet and replaced the cache as found.
I am concerned about the security of the cache in the next couple of days as it appears that the area is being covered with new mulch if the area further down the path and the pile of mulch near the cache are any indication of the current project..

i found this while completing the lab. I managed to leave a blue ink mark on the clean log. Thanks Waz and Vik and happy caching
Waz and Vik I found your cache Hungry Hippo on 31/8/2022, 11:50 am. This is my find 4046 and find # 7 today. Found it after a brief search. Logbook needs replacing. Thanks for the cache, mate! TNSLLN
Out to continue my little personal challenge. It is getting harder to find caches in my area so it means a drive to collect what I need. Today I found the perfect little group of 6 caches even if it was in Caboolture. I took the bike thinking it would be quicker but it turns out a drive and a little walk was just as good. All caches in this group were found easily enough, some did take some looking but I had no major issues with any, thanks.
The first one and thanks to the pics in the logs it was an easy find. I was not sure if it was the cache or not until I gave it a shake. I signed the log and replaced the cache as found and walked down to the next one. Thanks for the cache and the hide, all good with this one.

Another playday with Peppa, PirateLinda, and Davinells finding caches to help DV reach a milestone.
Davinells made the find, I was way off. SL then returned as found.
Found on 27 May 2022. TFTC, Waz and Vik.

Out and about in Caboolture today with Peppa, patrol14 and PirateLinda chasing numbers to reach our next milestone.
We probably should have walked this route...but the car was a better option today. I’m doing parkrun tomorrow so that’ll make up for it.
It’s not often you can say ‘I see a foot’ and it belongs to something you’re actually looking for! Nice container, log signed as Wadda mooli

Found with the Watta mooli team on our day of cleaning up caches in and around Caboolture. Hungry Hippos was spotted by Davinells while my GPS had me a little way off in the other direction . Thanks for the cache
Out for the day with PirateLinda, Patrol14 and Davinells with the goal of getting numbers for an upcoming Milestone… With the Urban Safari starting in Petrie tomorrow we decided to target Caboolture and surrounds…
Logs signed Wadda Mooli, WM, PL - P14 - DAV - Peppa or some combination of all of them…
It was Davinells who spotted a foot…. Tftc…

Thanks for this hide Waz and Vik. The kids with us enjoyed finding the well themed container and extracting the log sheet.
Today, I started out the day with a visit to Caboolture finding a cluster of geocaches around Central Lakes Park. Subsequently, the plan was a kayak paddle in Pumicestone Channel as per the organised event by Peppa and patrol14. We then used the occasion to find a few geocaches in the *Little Bird* series by kayak. After lunch, we then formed a small group to continue to find a few more *Little Bird* series geocaches by vehicle and walking, before we all had to rush home from taking a long day out.
Whilst parking nearby to this location, I took a jog out to this spot, and thankfully the cache was a quick find. The cache container and logbook were in good shape, and it was nice to see it themed. Thanks Waz and Vik for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

Coming up to Sandstone point to visit family. We always aim to get a few while in the area or on the way (and the way home). After all the rain and flooding of late, we can confirm that all is good with this cache. Although, even though I was tentative the little creature did scare me.
I take great delight in modifying kids games to incorporate drinking for non-responsible adults. One of my favourite games is Checkers using shot glass. One player uses glass shots while the other uses pewter shots. You wouldn't believe the number of tourist shops I visited in Phuket to find 12 pewter shot glasses. The eventual game champion is the person that can distinguish pewter from glass.
It was difficult to adapt HH Hippos for non-responsible adults. Tried whoever had the least number of marbles and that didn't work as the four players sat back and drank rather than play the game. The most marbles in ones hand was also problematic as marbles were hidden on one self and ultimately marbles went missing. Or maybe the person is missing some of their marbles after partaking in the game.
So I went searching what HH Hippos was meant to teach our younger generation. Supposedly it teaches them that if they really want something then sometimes you just have to go for it. Take the leap and fight hard to get where you want to be. It's a lot easier to steal someone elses marbles before they lay claim to them. A very though provoking and non-sobering cache Waz and Vik, thanks.

What a cute little find! Giving this one a FP as I love cute little finds!
