Found at the start of a day's geocaching expedition near Leeston. Approaching we first walked around a bush assuming that it would be a more regular spot. But then ... surely not. Well, yes ... Reading the description, now we understand. TFTC!
After a bissy few days we are finally on the way south but not be for a quick stop to stretch the legs and why not find a cache. Thanks for a great way to take a break and stretch. Cache in go order .Thanks Getting out and about in to the out doors is my happy place so any excuse to go caching. As if I need an excuse aahhh nop I will go rain hail or snow , theres no hill to high or valley to low , so let's goooo and have as much fun and adventures as possible tomorrow may never come and we never know what tomorrow may hold for us all just do it Life is short. Live life one foot step at a time.Never say" I'm gonna "- Just do it!! Tomorrow may never come just grab Life by the horns , lets just go for it .Thanks for the hide tftc
The Seagnoid has come to stay for a long weekend and have some caching adventures. Today we had thought about collecting some caches around the Leeston area, then following the road out to Rakaia, and maybe venturing as far as Ashburton. The weather however had other ideas. A bitter wind and grey skies proved to not be very pleasant for caching. We did manage to grab a few dotted around the place, this being one. Thanks for the cache. FP for this one.
I have spent the last few days in Christchurch, and extra long long weekend, staying with That Darn Bear. The bear and I are out for another explore. Today is a size regular dot-day so we came to this cemetery especially for this cache. Although, let's face it, seeing that number of favourites was going to attract us anyway!I saw the cache immediately, but did not recognise it for what it was. So we started with the nearby tree. But then I saw something blue through the window - I know what that shade of blue is! And I called the bear over. Yep definitely another favourite to add to the tally!Another regular dot-day done, just 19 to go...
Thanks for the hide we were intrigued to find out what the hide would be?! Lovely peaceful cemetery.
After overnighting at the golf club I went for a morning walk. Al ok with the cache. Thanks to the cache placer.
Today I decided to venture out towards the Rakia River to locate caches on the northern side of it.Boy, that is different.Cheers for the cache, Banksiaman1.

Oh wow, nice way to make sure Pops gets plenty of visitors!
The SF70 needs a bit of fixing upping, as the chimney has fallen off.
So what does it stand for anyway? "State Forest 70"? What is the 70 for?
Or maybe something like Standard Fabrication? Could not find any info online.
Kia ora! Paldies!
Thanks for the cache, Banksiaman1! +Fav!

Found with ivss_xx and OSC. Brought back fond memories of tramping with dad as a kid. Oh the delight that shade of orange brought me at the end of the day. I love the care put in to the scale model, and that Pops is getting some visitors to his hut. TFTC!!
I made a detour on my way to Leeston to find a few caches along the way. This was the first one I came to. Very cool cache construction. TFTC, Biggles.
After my early morning find this morning, I was 13 caches away from getting the Hard achievement in this months Wheel of Challenges. So might as well complete it.
FP added to the collection... excellent idea!
TFTC Banksiaman1, the cache was found in good order Signed, sealed and returned to GZ. 9 find(s) of 12 today, making this find #3976

This would have to be one of my top favourite caches. That is something I would love to have on my final resting place. tftc
What a beautiful tribute to your family. My favorite cache for the day. Thank you. The chimney has suffered from rot and had come away. I propped it back up with a heavy stone. Take care of this special site I took the little heart stone and replaced it with my hand crafted flower.....because every loved one should have flowers placed on their resting place. RIP.
This is such an awesome cache!!! It is so cute! I brought my teddy over to the cache with me as I thought it might be the perfect size for him but he's a little big for it. He's come tramping before and stayed enjoyed seeing the huts we've visited so he liked seeing this cache almost as much as I did! Great effort making it, looks so good! Favourite point very much deserved! Thanks!
Cool cache I must admit I do have some reservations about standing on these sitesbut since they are happy and it bri gs them joy along a short bit of company I am only to happy to oblige many thanks for the innovative cache easy fav from me ps it looks like the birds love it also
We are wandering around the South Island again. Caches bring us to some special places like this. What a great cache idea. Thanks for bringing us here Banksiaman1
Awesome one to find, kids said hello to the family, grabbed Beautiful heart stone which will be left on today's adventures for the next person to find and left a lovely smelling soy candle
TFTC. What a cool cache. I was delighted to be able to sign the log. All peaceful and beautiful here today.
A great find with lots of things inside. Left one of my heart stones. Out walking while staying at the golf course. In our motor home. Husband played golf in the Lions tournament yesterday. Lovely hospitable people
Aaah what a great idea! Said a quick hello to everyone & signed the log. With campmotherandken TFTC

Geocaching around Christchurch with woolwood9.
Weather has taken a turn for the worse - lots of rain now and everything wet!
We soon had the container found. SL: **tm/ww NZ**

From the description this sounded like a cool cache...and I wasn't disappointed at all!! My gran would've loved it, both the roses and the cache hide. Thanks for putting something so creative together for us to enjoy
Dropped off a TB, spotted another that's not logged as being in this cache and didn't spot the Aussie 1 that's supposed to be here...hopefully they're just in the "to log" pile for someone else.
Thanks again

Bewdy day to finish off the year with some caches, and hit a couple of targets....
Was not expecting that! But glad didn't have to trawl through the roses! Cheers!

I was not sure about this cache after three years of geocaching in the UK where you cannot hide a cache in a cemetery, it has made me very hesitant. However, we saw the cache holder easily and it was a beaut. Very nice addition and some ingenuity. TFTC I think it even deserves a favourite point.
15 August 2021 2:18 pm. Best cemetery cache I have been to. Another FP added. TFTC Banksiaman1 and Pops. # 3536
Found on the scenic route back to Christchurch from Methven . We had found the original cache here, but happy to return to look for MkII version. Wow - you can't miss that! Hiding in plain sight. A little damp inside, but log book all good.
Thanks for making me smile (again) and TFTC.

I remembered this one as one I had found before as I approached. Very nice to return and give it another favourite. TFTC Banksiaman1 # 17,265
Nice and quiet here today.
After a short walk the large cache was spotted.
Thanks

A very unexpected place for it. Saw it immediately, but did not think it could be there and spent some time looking elsewhere. Tftc
An interesting hide. We looked at it but thought no not there. Thanks for the effort.
The roses are beautiful! It is a little weird to come so close when finding a cache but a neat little find.
We'd been here before and found the previous cache here (saw our name in the log book) and remembered what a neat cache it was. Spotted the new hide quickly.
Delightful! Much easier than the usual hunt up and down the rows of a graveyard. Was keen to do some weeding but on the basis of my dad's opinion I didn't. I'm not sure what the neighbors thought of his front garden meadow in the London suburbs. He thought there were no weeds, only flowers. Tftc
A nice quick find thanks. I remember finding the previous incarnation of the hut. Thanks for redoing and here is a FP too.
Ms_KR and I went for a cruise to Ashvegas and back, via a few caches. The carrot for Ms_KR was a visit to the Art Gallery! We both had a great time.
Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. Cheers.

Visited today signed the log and replaced container securely in the little house. All good here TFTC
Thank you for this cache, Banksiaman1.
I had found the previous iteration and this one is stunning, too. Thank you for the effort you have gone to, to make this cache.

I needed to find at least 6 caches today to bring my number of finds for the 3rd October up to at least 26 and thus into a deeper shade of green on GC's Daily Finds Calendar. A perusal of a map of my yet to be found caches showed that the number should be easily achieved during a visit toward the Rakaia Huts.
Quite an unusual cache. TFT placing Banksiaman1. Cheers.

We had to go to Leeston,so came in here, although we have been in here before..Lovely Cache.TFTH
With ABCDF4, eyespyben, and Gap (of Fap and Gap). Logging all finds as Team HRP (Huntly, Rotorua, Papamoa - Our hometowns)... During Covid-19 lockdown, we solved a truck load of puzzles around Christchurch - Canterbury region. No use thrashing the old grey matter for no cause - We decided we should make good on this handiwork...
There are lots of interesting trails and geoart surrounding Christchurch. What you aren’t told is how far flung some of these caches actually are. Some beforehand advice would have been great, so here are some of my notes... You’re welcome!
1. Mobile coverage is patchy, especially in those quiet, rural areas where it was most needed. Saving caches to offline might show that you are prepared and organised...
2. There are many dusty metal roads on the trails. The car will get messy, and your hair will feel like cardboard at the end of the day...
3. Suitable clothing and footwear are essential. You will climb in and out of hedges, gorse, and other rough stuff. You might get scratched, cut to shreds, and bleed a lot. It’s not advised to wear your brand new jacket on the day...
4. Take lots of food and drink. You’ll probably be head down, tail up and not realise you haven’t eaten until late afternoon. There are very few shops or gas stations out there...
5. Make sure that you secure keys and wallet and know where these are placed for easy retrieval. A full box of pens might be useful too, especially if you’re inclined to free some into the wild...
6. Know the difference between left and right, and north, south, east, and west. Turning right and heading north will not get you to South Christchurch quickly.
7. Look with girl’s eyes rather than boys eyes... Some caches haven’t been found in a while and you might have to get down on your knees to pray.
8. Always be prepared for misleading hints. This is what turns simple caches into D5/T5 hides... “Head height” could mean the cache is positioned at your toes.
9. Have a sense of humour and like the people you go caching with. It’s going to be a very long day, and you might want to hurt someone during the journey...
10. Make sure you can operate your phone/device and it doesn’t crash when you most need it...
11. Learn to cut and paste logs because you’re going to repeat this function so often when logging all of your finds.
12. Above all else, have fun and be kind...
I was reminded that there were still caches to log from our recent epic adventures in Christchurch. This was one of those hides... We seem to have hit a small pocket of cemeteries quite close together - No doubt, there are stories to explain why this is so. It was fairly quiet, being a midweek day during school holidays. This was a great tribute cache to the COs grandfather, and nicely set up. Thanks Banksiaman1 and TFTC.

After puzzle solving in the Canterbury region along with EyeSpyBen we were invited to join Fap (from Fap & Gap) and Squirrel Nutcase to a week long caching adventure in the Canterbury area. With flights and accommodation booked were off, all met up in ChCh. and many hard dusty Kms travelled and many caches found, I think the Squirrel has said it all in his brief. Many thanks for the placements and Cos for bringin us to the very pleasant areas we travelled in to your region

Down in Christchurch with the Squirrel, ABCDF4 and eyespyben. During Covid lockdown, we solved a load of puzzles and decided that this would be a good time to visit. We've enjoyed a few days of good weather and seeing the Canterbury countryside. The caches have been in varying states - some good, some not so much. Our time here has been a blast, and we'd like to thank all COs who have made this adventure possible. Thank you and TFTC.
Nosynel and I found a few geocaches on the way to visit our son and his fiance in Ashburton.
A slight detour with JDScout and my on the way to visit our two nursing students who have placement at Ashburton hospital.

Out caching with mum for the day. It was meant to be the baby expo this weekend, and I was meant to have a stall there, but thanks covid, it was postponed again... so mum & I went caching instead.
Found a few together, though I was so pregnancy tired I was probably holding us up in terms of how many we could- have found!
Thanks though to all the COs for the caches Nice to tick off some more from the map.

Interesting stop with daughter refinding the same cache all over again after just over a year - it seems we were finally getting out for a day's caching then just like today. TFTC!
Happened to be in the area so why not grab a cache or two. This one is certainly different. TFTC
This is such a great cache, and a Fav from me. 4 of us chatted to the locals while we signed!! TFTC
