2 August 2024 17:16 dalerious and I found and signed these MBR's either going up or down the Mountain over the couple of wonderful days hiking and exploring this caching wonderland that is Mount Buffalo. This is our and your playground Jamin Appleford.
Just a quick P&G on the way down after an adrenalin filled but exhaustive day on the Mountain. We had so much fun caching Mt Buffalo, that cat' and I decided to stay overnight in Porpunkah and come back up here to do it all again the following day. TFTC Jamin. There are 2 TBs in this cache. We were happy to just "visit" them but we probably should have "grabbed" them as they have not been logged in and may be considered missing by their owners.
Dinosaurs! Had such a chuckle here. Awesome.Fingers crossed I see a lyrebird.Nope. Oh well. They're great to spot in the wild, scratching around everywhere tail akimbo.Did spy many many wombat holes though, that Or they were the biggest most gigantic snake holes the world has ever seen that would put the fear in any sane sapien.Cache found when I used my eyes to navigate the environment first. Thanks for the geocache Jamin Appleford!
Spent the labour day long weekend out exploring the Mt buffalo area.Did quite a few walks in the area and saw many great sites.Braved the heat too.Like what someone has done to the animal sign here.Cache quickly found and log signed.TFTC
I stopped here on the way to the falls because I liked the sign. And I also like it when the coords are spot on. Tftc
It's been a quite a while since I logged my last geocache (>6 years...), but with my son just turning 5, I thought it's about time to introduce him to Geocaching Quick and easy find. TFTC!
21384. I needed to do some maintenance on a cache at Porepunkah so we had planned to continue on to Mt Buffalo as the forecast was for a mild, sunny day. It was a glorious day up with the Gods. Many other people had the same idea. We did the AdLab and gathered another 8 caches at various points along the journey. This was the first cache of the day. It must have been published after our last visit to the Mount. A quick find and I collected a TB that hasn't been logged into the cache. Thanks Jamin Appleford
A lovely spring day so BettyBoo3747 and I headed off to do some maintenance, and a trip up Mt Buffalo. We didn't do any long walks just a few along the road and the AdLab.This one must have come out a bit later than the rest of the series, so we stopped on our way up the hill. Thanks, Robmc.
After 14 years of living in Albury, I have never ventured up this way. All up 14 caches, 1 DNF, a few not attempted, an adlab, and 10kms of hiking. All up a great day out finished with a pub meal on the way home. Tftc jamin.
Fun find! GPS coordinates accurate for this one! Like finding buried treasure - ST + Jko

Heading to Mt Buffalo today with LittleBoss2. This was a quick find once again. Great coords, thanks JA
We are back up in the North East to visit family and enjoyed a trip out to Mt Buffalo while we are here.
It was quite hot and also really busy as to be expected for School Holidays.

Today was my day up Mount Buffalo. It rained on and off so everything was wet while searching for the caches. Another quick find.
Thanks for the cache, Jamin Appleford.

Geojen decided we needed a day out, or a drive so we decided on MtBuffalo. It's been while since I was up here and no shortage of caches to get but we only grabbed a few. This was the first.
Thanks Jamin
Thanks Jamin
Just a short drive up the mountain to collect this one today. There were signs of wildlife nearby, but we didn’t meet any on our way to the cache! SL at 12.22pm Left: gold gum-nut pathtag. #8243 TFTC Jamin- a quick U-turn so we could continue our journey to Harrietville.
Original plan was an early snow day at Buffalo was destroyed by rain on Saturday night so we still headed to the mountain and stayed low (around Eurobin Creek and falls). Walked from the entry station and circled a bit (so wanted to be in the animal home) and soon spotted the cache. Log signed and a Wang Event card left.
TFTC Jamin Appleford - the kids thought the kangaroo was a Spinosaurus

Found it! A lovely drive up Mt Buffalo and great to have geocaches to find along the way
Decided Australia Day holiday was as good as any to add some smileys. I spotted this sign on the way up to the event and giggled then.
The GPS pushed us in all sorts of ways before locking onto a quick find
Thanks for this fun series

Australia day What a great day for a drive about the NE.... And despite the rain we still managed to check out an old school, play a game of snakes and ladders in Myrtleford, feed some animals at the Red Stag, scramble over rocks at Eurobin falls and even take a little dip at Ladies bath falls ... Oh and grabbed a few caches aswell... Thanks to the cache owners for encouraging us to be out and about...
With the rest of the OSHFAM clan back at the van, geo kid Snook and I decided to go find a few caches up the mountain path. It was getting late and the weather was closing in with big black skies and wind.
Well I obviously didn’t learn from previous mistakes and wore bush shoes again (thongs) and paid the ultimate price as I stood at GZ looking down at the cache before letting out the biggest “OUCHHHHHH”. Those bull ants are viscious. I had Snook retrieve the cache.
The cache and log was in good condition but it saddened us that it was so empty. We soon fixed that and filled it with some quality swag for others to enjoy if they so wished.
Beware insects here as well the wildlife. We had a bit of a giggle at the roadsign as someone obviously had a little bit of fun here converting the kangaroo and wombat into mythical spined creatures.
Thankyou for the cache here Jamin Appleford

We were heading back down the MBR after a fun day on Mount Buffalo and stopping for a few caches along the way. This sign has made me giggle on so many occasions, but it was only today that I realised the kangaroo had also got a bit spikey! Clearly the wombat is the main one we notice here. Anyway it was a nice quick find here to finish the day. TFTC Jamin Appleford
We searched for a while because the GPS was taking us on a wild goose chase we first thought we saw it but then it was just a birdhouse.

{FTF} @3:50pm. After a day skiing up at falls creek on the dwindling snow, I checked to see if this one was still unfound. Turns out it was so a slight detour was planned for the drive home. Great views on the way to GZ. Cache was found easily, log signed and cache returned to its hiding spot. TFTC. One day I’ll do the rest of this series. Funny sign too.
