We are in Horsham for a long weekend away. Having never cached in this area, it is going to help us with a number of challenges. The hardest being GCA0HZW, where you need 20 geocaches in each Victorian LGA. We should get that in Horsham, probably not in the West Wimmera, Hindmarsh, and Yarriambiack LGAs that we will all be also visiting. After the event in Horsham and then brunch, it was time to head west to the West Wimmera LGA, stopping at Mt Arapiles first. It was hard keeping my eyes on the road as the mountain kept drawing my eyes to it. It is a very impressive mountain, especially with how flat the rest of the area is.Once on top, the view was even better than expected, and we could see the wind turbines in the far hazy distance. We were stunned that we could drive right up to this lookout. We were expecting a lovely, if hot, walk to it. Cache found relatively quickly after starting from the wrong side first. Thanks for the cache, Duntulum.Hunter

Found by Aussie Train Driver 23/06/2024, find number 1785.I found this one after completing the circuit walk from the summit to the bottom carpark and back. Distance wise it isn't that long but the hike up and down certainly gives the legs a work out! Some spectacular views from this mountain. I had GZ to myself but missed the cache on my first attempt. Thanks for the hint, I soon realised my oversight and had my name in the log book. TFTC!

Due to unforeseen circumstances Mr Smokey Bear will no longer be a part of Team Smokey Bear and will continue his adventures as "SmokeyBearOG".

So I'm relogging all previous finds under my new account.
Unfortunately this log will not show the original logging date.

**Thanks to Duntulum for this adventure, looking forward to many more.**

Today I started my return home, heading from Kingston SE to Horsham, picking an assortment of caches. There was no-one here when I arrived, so I made the most of it to look for and find the cache first, then admire the views. What a great spot. This gets a favourite from me.

My thanks to Duntulum for the cache.

The rain has been kind to us over the last 3 days allowing us to enjoy some caching and placing. Sitting at Mt Arapiles Lookout eating our lunch we were able to take in the magnificent views before making the quick find.

I’ve had “This Is SA” on my radar for a while. We have been camping out at Wooroonook lakes and while this wasn’t around the corner, it is probably the closest I will be for a while so we decided to head out west to the border. Not only was it in my radar, it will help me finally complete my first and second D/T loops.

Another great lookout as we made our way back from the border. The sun was shining after the previous days rain and the cache was found quickly.

Thanks Duntulum for adding this cache to the worldwide collection for us all to find.

Find # 10668

Found while heading home from a SA trip with sharkiefan.

We had based ourselves in Millicent for a few days making the most of a long weekend.
We got a lot of adventure labs finished and also gained some skills with the new fishing pole. Getting about 25 caches out of trees to sign.

It was a great trip back to SA after a 2 year break (due to covid restrictions)

I had to detour for this one. So glad i did the view from the look out is just awesome.

Many thanks Duntulum but today was not my day!
I will have to return another day to try again!

We looked under a number of things and behind a number of bushes however all we came up with was a big fat redback spider.

Desert Caching 2021 - Day 4 - The drive home
After a late get away from camp at Snowdrift in Wyperfeld, I headed towards home, and soon hit the black top and started to make good time, a least until I started detouring for caches again.
I detoured to Mt Arapiles for the technical tree cache on the western boundary and took a drive up here as I haven't ventured up here for some years.
Great views from GZ and the country looks the best I can remember.

Thanks Duntulum

After driving some tracks across the Little Desert we could see Mt. Arapiles and a quick google search showed we could drive to the top so we came to check out the view. It was good to look over the area we had just driven. Watched some rock climbers summit the nearby crag whilst we were there.
Cache was found fairly quickly.
