After finally finishing the adventure lab I realised how close I was to the bonus so I headed off to it. I was so glad the rain held out. Great way to finish off the adventure lab with this bonus. TFTC and TFTAL
Found by Mary and David at 11:45. We had done stage 1 in April last year, so wanted to finish it this time. In between the final stage and the bonus, we met up with old RAAF friends for morning tea in Merewether. A FP awarded. Our thanks to Orrsome86.
I had grabbed the info for this one about a year back but did not grab the cache until today. All good at GZ TFTC
Heading north we picked up a few caches along the way and this was one of them.
After completing the Lab caches we were rewarded with a set of co-ords for th final GZ. Cache and contents were in good condition.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.

I completed this Lab on the way back from Belmont. I had been to this GZ before for another cache which unfortunately I didn't find. The co-ordinates here appear to be a little out, they took me towards a private residence before I looked at the hint and log photos. Once at the right GZ I found it straight away. TFTC!
A very good AL followed by great coordinates and a cache in great condition. Fav point from us
Enjoying doing some adventure labs around Newcastle today. Thanks for the bonus cache

Stopped by here before my long run today, and whilst there were people playing on the nearby play equipment, it was nice to be well out of sight of them while searching for the cache. As soon as I arrived at GZ, the cache was quickly spotted and signed.

Out caching with GeoIan for the day. FInished the Fernleigh track and decided to do the AL. I had never been to this place and thank you so much for taking the time to let others know about the history. Easy find. Took time to wander around and then read the plaques at the memorial. Very sad but interesting. A fav from me Orrsome86. TFT AL.
Having done 1/2 the geotrail 2 1/2 years ago, we have started on the second half, getting the points for the Reach the peak series. We had missed #2 back then, so decided we may as well start this, do No.2 then hop in the car to do the others, as our walk was going to be the other end today, which is enough for me today, as we are only just starting back at distances. We read a couple of these sign posts the first time round, but this gave us a chance to really read them, and understand the significance of the trail. The final stage blew me away, as i had never heard of Redhead colliery, and when we read it last month, wondered where it actually was. Thankyou for bringing us here today. A great experience. Whilst near the GZ, we spent some time reading the memorials at the p[oppet had wheel, which was an eye opener, and well worth doing to future visitors. Thankyou once again. Fav from me.
Out testing our new bikes today. What a great AL and a bonus cache. TFTC Orrsome86
We found this an interesting introduction to this historic track. Thanks for setting up it up. Fortunately no muggles about so the cache was found quickly.
Started the lab cache a few months ago but got too busy to finish the last few stages. Luckily I managed to finish it off today and grab the bonus too. Really enjoyed this LC along the track. TFTC!!! #1819
We were on a ride from Blacksmiths to Newcastle via the Fernleigh Track so it was a perfect chance to do the AL. Lots of great history and a fantastic track, albeit a long one when you also do the return ride. Hadn't realised the Fernleigh Track is at least 8 degrees cooler than anywhere else once the sun starts to go down. Really enjoyed the AL and bonus, thanks Orrsome86. (Didn't see the listed TB in the cache.)
I've had this AL on my must-do list for some time but thought it best to wait until after the school holidays. With a nice day in the offing, I headed north, leaving my car at Belmont and switching to the MTB. A lot of interesting history at the AL's waypoints, followed by a quick find of the bonus cache with no muggles about.
Many thanks for this enjoyable Adventure and bonus.
Many thanks for this enjoyable Adventure and bonus.
Found after completing the AL to get the coords, find some interesting facts on the way, Its\'s a pitty you are only alowed 5 points as the remainder of the railline probably had some more. Well done Orrsome86 for putting this together. Nice quick find and took the TB.

TFTC and the AL. Had a great time finding these plus others. Chatted to people and had a lovely refreshing day walking.
Parked at Belmont station and walked the distance of the the AL to Redhead. Enjoyed the bits of history too. A quick find was made at GZ, now for the walk back and grab a few caches along the way. TFTC
Found it. This day brought back memories of 35 yrs of working Underground in the mining industry starting at Burwood Colliery. Thx for a great day and THTC Orrsome86.
Second day of caching in Newcastle and surround before making my way home south via the Entrance in the late afternoon. Again perfect weather today and a light breeze. A quick find here after doing the wp's along the track.

We've been riding the Fernleigh Track a bit lately, often riding from Adamstown to Belmont (and getting picked up down there), taking pictures of heaps of signs for various reasons... We were away when the AL went live, but were happy as we had some date-found spots needing filling this weekend. So between a quick drive on Friday night, and a ride yesterday, we had the AL completed, and dropped back for the bonus cache after a picnic today.
The kids were searching under someones fence while Dad took the glory for the find today, blends in well too..... thanks for a fun AL in one of our favourite spots.....

First part done, well the first part of the AL..... we needed a find for 31/7, so made a night-time dash. We'll be back on Sunday to finish it off.
We got so excited about completing the Adventure lab that we didn't realise there was a bonus to be found! So back today. Having looked at previous logs, we were wondering what sort of tricks we would need to get up to for this one, and were very pleasantly surprised that we had all the equipment we needed with us (we had not quite taken the kitchen sink). Many thanks, Orrsome86, for a very pleasant adventure - and a bit of exercise on the side! And a fav from us.
Had a lot of fun completing the Adventure Lab with Naterater. We had thoughts of scootering all of it, but i'm not sure Naterater would have made the distance after a big game of Soccer yesterday. We weren't real sure what to expect with this due to the difficulty, but with to much effort we had the cache in hand. TFTC
Completed the great new Fernleigh Track adventure lab with Beary_Unicorns on a beautiful winter's day, then on to find this bonus cache.

Find #1385
Saw this AL pop up this morning and decided to go for a drive and a walk. Didn’t realise anyone hadn’t found it yet, so that was a bonus.
So great to learn some of the history of the Fernley Track. Such a wonderful idea to turn into into a cycle way/walkway and what a great idea for an AL. Beautiful day today while the rain held off for my little adventure. Container in good condition. TFTCSL Thanks for the adventure and history lesson Orrsome86

Thanks for a fun walk and scoot, jog with the pram for some, and sneaky bit of driving for others. It was great to get out and stretch the legs and revisit some learning that we’d forgotten from past visits. An FP for a fun afternoon out.
Hope the final stays hidden as it is very readily found.
We actually thought given the T rating it might have been ‘much’ higher and lifted the kids into some crazy places they enjoyed it at least!

We were heading up the Pacific Highway towards Dudley when the notification came in for this bonus so we detoured to the Lab Adventure after lunch. It was a bit far for us to walk the whole adventure so we completed parts then drove between locations which still took some time. The problem was the number of cyclists on the first dry day for some time and we spent a lot of time getting right off the track. We have walked and cycled much of this track over the years, it is one of our favourite places. Each part of the adventure was easy to complete but kept our interest and after the final location we had the coordinates of this bonus. GZ was also easy to locate but the cache was difficult to hide as well as it needs to be, seemed very exposed. Thanks Orrsome for a very good lab adventure and really appropriate final cache location, deserves a FP from us.
