Logs
Puzzle solved a few days back . We were going to sign the log while we were at the Cowboys West Tiger game.Desided against this as there were too many people. Called back yesterday and was able to park close . Of we headed for a walk, soon had our name on the new log. Tftc
As the cache was missing Chalky91 did not sign the log so the online log has been deleted.
After solving this some time ago so stopped by to make the find today. TFTC I stamped the log and replaced it as found.
Having solved this one before I moved from Townsville, I have always needed to grab it… just never got around to it. Sometimes getting to where the GZ is a bit complicated and I didn’t want to do it at night. Well, I ended up doing this didn’t I. I had my friend Hosan go with me. I think He was just trying to get coords from me, cheater.
Thank you burgo78 for placing this cache for me to enjoy!

Our first cycle all the way to town, navigating across the differing cycle paths until we got to the Strand for some caches and labs.
Thanks burgo78 for the caches.

Total Cache Finds 12852,
On our last day together, Earthbound Chief, ahomburg and myself headed off to find an assortment of geocaches. A favourite point for the puzzle. Slightly different to the norm. Thanks for the cache burgo78.
Solved before we came to the mega. A bit of a scramble and glad it’s not wet. Cache blends in but good coords. Was a good premiership win but not sure how long to the next one.

Townsville for the Mega over Easter with the amazing team Tour de Ville (patrol14, Imbunda, Peppa, and me). Now that the Mega is over time to enjoy some more caching and enjoy what Townsville has to offer. Today is our last day in the Ville and then it’s time to head back to reality.
But not before visiting JT and the stadium. We had to use PAF for this as our coords where wrong. Thankfully with some help we got them sorted and found the cache. Log signed as Tour de Ville, TIPP. TFTC

Quite a few sets of eyes on this one having met up with some other Brissy caching teams at the nearby Virtual. We circunmnavigated the facility picking up a couple of caches, this being one of them. Once in location, the container was swiftly spotted and a raft of names added to the log.
Cheers burgo78.

Attended the Townsville MEGA and had a few extra day of caching before heading homeward. We were stopped to visit Johothon Thurston at the AL and were soon joined by GhostGums and Gunnie69 and they asked if we had found this one so it was a No as we hadn't solved it so we tagged along with them but sorry to say their co- ords were out and we had no success in finding this cache. We had to revert to a PAF which was far more promising. Eventually the cache was found and all of our names were added to the log before it as found. TFTC
The MEGA is done and dusted but Tour De Ville have one more day in Townsville before starting our journey home. Caching in the city then onto Mt Stuart to look at the view.
Stopped nearby to visit the Virtual at the stadium when fellow Brisbane Geocachers stopped also - Gunnie69 and Ghostgums. Photos taken with JT then asked if we were also after the final for this cache. I hadn't solved this one before our trip North, so happy to tag along to GZ. Searched all around and something just wasn't quite right (checking previous logs). A PAF was made and they confirmed our finals were incorrect. A new set of numbers were collected and we made our way to the other location where we found the cache in its hide. Its good to have friends...

This one had a little of searching as were approaching it from the wrong angle, even with help form the security guard.
Found as part of the Qld Cache mega event weekend in Townsville over Easter 2022. Joined forces with Gunnie69 after flying up from Brisbane to tackle a variety of caches around the Townsville area including three GeoArt series, other puzzles and a few labs! I would like to thank all the cache owners who are making this an enjoyable weekend!
Today it was heading out to James Cook University and then back towards to the centre of town, before seeing Gunnie69 off as he headed back to Brisbane

Our last day in Townsville after an awesome Mega event. Have spent the last few days caching in the glorious company of team Tour de Ville and have had a ball. Nice to finish off our time with a few more caches. Tftc burgo78

Following an Event filled weekend, we had the opportunity to seek out some of the caches we had put on a list before leaving home. We found this part of Townsville totally fascinating.
Thanks burgo78 for placing interesting caches on the geo-gameboard.

It’s our last full day in Townsville, and our plans for the day have changed… after enjoying a quiet morning at the apartment, we set out to cache again around the city, then a drive to the top of Mt Stuart, followed by a couple of select caches before finagling returning for a take out fiesta with Davinells to say farewell… or is that Wa-dda Mooo-li?
After parking like my namesake Peppa Anderson (not Peppa Pig) near JT we met Gunnie69 and Ghostgums who asked if we’d like to join them for this cache…. Now we didn’t have a solution for the puzzle, so who are we to say no to a morally corrupt stroll in the park…
Unfortunately, it was the wrong park… so a PAF was made to some other morally questionable Brisbane cachers and a new set of coords were obtained… ohhhh… well that looks better…
Once at the actual GZ, the cache was spotted quickly… and thankfully it didn’t require the removal of any articles of clothing….

Out and about with chamad today collecting a few caches around Townsville. The plan was to focus on the labs and some targeted puzzles which I had solved for my trip last year and didn't quite get to collect. We also included some awesome tree fishing caches which we found along the way.
A great afternoon finding some fantastic caches!
Thanks burgo78 for the cache.

During the Easter long weekend, it was all about the Townsville Mega event! Highlights included a hike at Cape Pallarenda Conservation Peak, walks atop the local mountains of Mount Stuart, Castle Hill, and Mount Louisa, checking out a few shady spots along Ross River, sewer pipe / tunnel adventures, and a scuba dive to see the Museum of Underwater Art at John Brewer Reef. The Mega events themselves were fantastic: Gadget lab caches, GPS maze, trivia night, tree planting CITO, and Cal's Escape Room. There was also plenty of geocaching to be had, such as power trailing through the geoarts The Saint and the Book, and the collection of challenge caches at Bushland Beach mudflats. My view of Townsville had completely changed from my trip experience, and much kudos to the Cache Qld Townsville Mega Committee.
Following our visit north of Rowes Bay which included Pallarenda, Castle Hill followed by the Mega's Farewell event, we took a drive around South Townsville, making a stop at North Queensland Stadium (also known as Queensland Country Bank Stadium) to visit the virtual cache and complete a few more Locations from the Adventure Labs.
This was another quite different yet enjoyable puzzle to solve. Some inside intelligence from the CO at a Sip and Solve session helped to pursue this geocache's coordinates.
We continued our walk around the area, up to this geocache. After walking through the dryish creek, we arrived at GZ to make a quick find. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. We decided to sign the geocache as DWEG1 (Davidwazza and e.gregory1) to save space in the logbook. Thanks burgo78 for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

Townsville Mega 2022. Sunday. Another puzzle which I’d solved ages ago with the thought that I’ll be back up here sooner or later. I didn’t think the cache would be ‘over there’, but yep, it was. We bounced from tree to tree and then spotted the wee beastie hanging there just blending in and minding it’s own business. Log signed as SSQ for this weekend.
This was the 2nd of 74 caches found on this outing.
Thanks ***burgo78*** for showing us this place

Found while in Townsville to attend the Mega event.
I travelled up from Adelaide, taking a week or so so get here, meeting up with FeatherWaite to do some caching around the Cunnamulla area then continuing on to Barcaldine and Charters Towers.
While in Townsville I teamed up with Budgietas, Stainless-steel-rat and Gooseandegg on some days, including a day on Magnetic Island, and with Davidwazza at other times. When caching with Davidwazza, logbooks were signed DWEG1.
All in all it was a terrific week or so in Townsville, with plenty of great caches found.
Thanks burgo78 for the puzzle and the cache.

Up in Townsville for the MEGA with Sharpe m and slow puncture . All the log books were signed SSQ to save room. Have had this puzzle solved for a long time so it was great to turn it into a smiley. At GZ we soon spotted the hide. Thank you for placing this cache here for us to enjoy

With great excitement we headed to Townville for the for the first FNQ Mega - we were very curious to see how much it had changed since we lived there pre-caching.
Our third day in Townsville and the Mega starts today. After attending the welcoming event we headed off to town and Cape P with maccamob, Pprass and squalid for the day to collect as many of the solved puzzles as we could.
Thanks for contributing to the fun burgo78

Found by Mary and David, with pprass, The Morris and squalid at 11:50. Found after a short search around GZ. Managed to get there and back without getting wet or muddy, too. Our thanks to burgo78.
Took a while sitting in the shade to solve, and eventually got it. I remember that match well even without my team in it! Thanks
Wasn't sure if I really wanted to go get this one after the crocodile lecture this morning ... but if you haven't lost a limb, have you really been geocaching? T4T$
That’s a beaut puzzle. Took us a little while and a real good look before we realised what we had to do to solve this one.
At GZ it didn’t take too long to spot the cache. On the way out we read the info boards - quite a sporty town.
Thank you burgo78.

We found 2015 NRL Premiers while on our saintly pursuits in FNQ. ...we are glad we have finally made it here.
Good Friday was the perfect time to complete. the find as no-one was around. We circled GZ with no success until moving about 7 metres where we made the find
Thanks burgo78 for hiding this cache so that we could come and enjoy ourselves

We found this on our second visit after arriving too close to high tide the first time.
Once the water had fallen an easy path was visible and the container was identified and the log signed.
Thanks Burgo for this very creative puzzle which had us trying several combinations before we experienced success. A favourite point from us.

Down doing a speedy raid on Townsville to get enough points to make it up Mt Everest.
Had this one solved for a while but haven't had the chance to look for it, the puzzle took some working out but once the hint makes sense and the numbers fell into place it was all good
Many thanks to the CO for the interesting puzzle and cache.
Hope the Boys go better this year

Day six of my road trip and day four in Townsville. The plan today was to just drive around town collecting target caches from my list and working my way to my 6000th cache. There was a lot of backtracking and walking trails but it was a very rewarding day, thank you.
Working my way around town I had a few target caches to collect and then there was a few I collected as I passed. So the next part of my plan today was to go and collect a few more before I went and got the virtual as my 6000th cache.
I arrived here and there was a few extra cars and people gathered around the field, turns out the Kiwi rugby side was just about to hit the field for a training session. Oh well I’m going the other way and looking for a cache. I was searching in the wrong tree at first then I decided to expand my search and found the cache very nicely planted in the tree.
I signed the log and replaced the cache as found and made my way over to watch the training session for a little break. Thanks for placing this one here.

Having no clue about this game, I only had a quick look when this cache was released. Remembering the way to the final from another puzzle I did my homework, but unfortunately had to drop the ball as that wasn't crowned with success. With some fresh eyes I now found the way to the Grand Final. Very much enjoyed solving it. Not sure what the hint is all about, though.
Nice and easy at GZ. Thanks.

Final had a chance for a trip to the coast to visit family. Log finally signed for a long solved puzzle. Thanks Burgo for the cache.
The puzzle was obvious but there was more than one possible solution.
Got an OK for the numbers and added this to the list of solved.
Quick find this afternoon, plenty of parking available.
Thank you for the puzzle and placing this geocache burgo78

Thanks for a great puzzle for my first ever. Frustrated that I didn't take the time while I was in Townsville a few weeks ago to put the time in, when I first saw it (could have been my first FTF).
The find will have to wait for the next visit to the family on the coast.
Again thanks, and now I am hooked on puzzles.........

I had a full day free in Townsville to do some caching after a long drive to deliver my hard working nieces newly purchased first car from Brisbane.
It has been 23 years since I last lived here and nearly 20 months since my last visited. 25 years ago, my then partner worked for the cowboys when they started, so I spent a lot of time around the club. Back then wins were rare. It was great to see this all turn around in 2015.
The local caching community has certainly been busy since my last visit. I set about solving a few puzzles before my trip. At the time, this one had not been found, so I prioritized it hoping to snag a rare North Queensland FTF from under the local hounds noses during my visit. I enjoyed this puzzle. I noticed something unusual early on, and having seen something similar elsewhere, I had strong suspicions as to how this could provide a solution.
There was a delay whilst I organised some tools to help. My accuracy (or rather lack of it) resulted in a red cross on the checker before I corrected my error.
At GZ this morning, an easy find was made. Congratulations to BenM70 for solving this and having the dedication to rush out at midnight to maintain the streak.
Many thanks burgo78

1/8/20 00:09 [FTF] It certain was nice to see a cache placed to highlight one of the greatest team sporting achievement that I’ve had the pleasure to witness. That year was pretty special for any long term Cowboys fan. Having followed the cowboys since I arrived in Townsville. I actually worked at Dairy Farmers stadium for part of it’s construction before I moved here. I watched them fall agonisingly short against the Tigers in 2005. I would have to say I may be somewhat biased in saying the 2015 Grand Final was the best grand final I’d ever watched, but as stated in the description, many other watching, including Bronco’s fans have stated the same. That final play in regular time with Thurston struggling to get the pass away to Morgan, to that pass by Morgan to see Feldt full stride for his one handed put down across the line to draw level will the Broncos will forever be etched in my mind. Watching Thurston miss the conversion still meant that the nail biting game was going into Golden Point. The rest is history, and gave the Cowboys their first Premiership.
This one took too long for me to work out. I’d poured over the table, looking for any discrepancies with the ladder as it happened. I searched through the description for any clues. Even the hint left me dumbfounded. I hadn’t, and still hadn’t worked out a previously dropped puzzle, let alone having an idea with this one. I even did cache maintenance on a missing cache to gut a further clue, which didn’t really reveal anything directly relating to how to solve it, but it did make me think about what was before me and i went back to what i had spotted but failed to follow up on, while being distracted by another series of puzzles elsewhere. In any case It had given me something to go on. The stadium sure looks fantastic at night. It had mauve highlights tonight which turned off just prior to me getting out my phone to take a snapshot. Thanks burgo78 for another crafty puzzle. Certainly worthy of more attention that it was given to this point. Has to get a Favourite point from me.

Nice puzzle, Burgo. Now I remember where I had seen something similar before. I will be heading up north to make the find in the next week or so. So, the locals had better get solving if they want the FTF
