Time to free the bridge up for someone else. An epic back and forth multi perhaps?
Very tricky, but we eventually found it, middle of the day, night lights would help!
this was my first time geocaching after i heard about it on tiktok, took me 5 mins cus the gps on this app isnt that good, really happy that i found it though
A chance to bring the bike out, and after finishing off Monster Lane I thought I’d start on Ted Smout Bridge…
I ended up using the spoiler pics to shorten the time spent looking…
Thanks oz_bean_counter

Oh my it’s a windy day today. So many possibilities but perseverance and a look at other logs paid off. Tftc
oz_bean_counter I found your cache Reflections on 2/3/2023, 4:25 pm. This is my find 4788 and find # 10 today. A quick and easy ride by. Thanks for replacing. Thanks for the cache, mate! TNSLLN
Cache replaced with a temporary container. My replacements still have not arrived, sadly.
oz_bean_counter I didn’t find your cache Reflections on 10/12/2022, 12:45 pm. All three caches on this bridge I couldn’t find. Maybe cache blindness or I need a better extraction tool.
Sadly someone stole the geocash but I found the velcro. Very happy about my first cash though, beautiful view
Maintenance run (ok, ok, it was a leisurely qalk). Cache replaced. Carry on.
Found the spot but unfortunately nothing here.
Velcro is there but nothing attached
Velcro is there but nothing attached
We found the thing it was attached to (aka the Velcro attachment) but somebody has taken it without replacing and there was nothing there to be found, not even the container.
Took my mum geo caching for the first time today, only planned to walk to the first cache(reflections ) found that one without the gps coz it was messing up & then ended up walking to the next one, log was quite wet tho.
A red thingy that i forgot the name of. Not much but i must say the adventure and the view was nice
Not the prettiest day on the water today, but it was successful. We geocycled, finding 40/40 caches. With Shazzar66. TFTC
I need a few caches with the "Recommended at Night" attribute to qualify for a Challenge. So I planned an evening drive around the northern suburbs collecting these caches.
Bootcamp was tough this morning, so I was relishing the opportunity to loosen up some sore muscles with a nice evening walk on the bridge, collecting this one and the two a bit further on.
A nice quick find at GZ thanks to the accurate coordinates and good hint. No problems accessing the logbook. Replaced as found. Many thanks, Oz Bean Counter.

Hatzofff still conducts client business up north, and sometimes I accompany her.
Subsequently we caught up with our usual caching mates for some more caches. I don't know really why we didn't do this one when the CITO event was held nearby.
Log signed and cache replaced as found on May 3, 2022. TFTC, oz_bean_counter.

It was very hidden and my sister was so smart and found it a clue it’s something to do with the cyclists.
Unfortunately no picturesque reflections for us tonight. Maybe there was too much wind.

Love it here on the bridge. I once swam across this bay from the Shorncliffe to Woody Point Jetty. Crazy to think back. TFTC
Quick to find. Took ages to sign the log. Never knew you could open one of these. Tftc.
Not too windy and not too hot this afternoon to find this one.
A few minutes of looking was required at GZ to spot this one but a corner was spotted after getting the right angle. Will have to return one evening in the future.

After a great morning out paddling on the Pine River, we packed the kayak and our water booties away, and swapped them for our walking shoes. We left the car by the river, and began our walk to the bridge.
We have always wanted to walk across this bridge, and so today was that opportunity.
We could not believe how strong the wind was up high on the bridge, and the rattling noise that was created on the railings. from the wind.
A great name for this cache, which also led us to a quick find.
Thanks Oz_Bean_Counter,
Domsky

On the hunt this afternoon for a few caches below sea level for a nearby challenge cache. Found in good condition
DisSister was tasked with this first stop of our Australia Day ride while I took the photo TFTC, oz_bean_counter. =^.^=
We headed out for an Australia Day ride across the bridge and this was our first stop. I took care of the cache duties while La Kedi attended to the photo taking. Will have to return at night sometime to see the view. TFTC oz_bean_counter
Taking a little friend out with me today to introduce her to caching. Loved the walk along the bridge here and checking out our local area. Thanks for the cache - she loved finding it with me.
Travelling monster lane today with swearah on the scooters. With no muggles in sight we made a quick find of this clever little cache.Tftc oz_bean_counter
A lovely day for a scoot with jodsta83. It’s been so nice chatting, caching, eating and enjoying the views.
It wasn’t long before jodsta83 yelled out “found it!”. Sweet!

There was an opportunity to take the kids fishing and Redcliff was the target. Parked on the South East of the Ted Smout bridge, and hiked across to the central fishing platform. On the way we spotted this cache. The cache container was spotted quite quickly, and the log sheet was signed as AWT?. Put back in place and we continued on to feed some fish.
The hit rate of 1 out of 1 was as good as it got today. God to get some fresh air out on the platform, but that is all we got. Once we were finished at least we collected another cache on the way back to the car.
Thanks for the cache Oz Bean Counter. Cheers

I planned to attend the CITO event in the area today, but as it had a late starting time, I saw a great opportunity to grab a few local caches and a couple that I had DNF’s on. I loaded the bike and made my way to the event posted coordinates.
I rode across the bridge and came to this one first, wow that wind was strong. This one was nicely tucked away and required some delicate fingers to get it out. With the log signed and cache replaced as found I was on my way to the next one.
Thank you for placing it here a nice hide.

With the CITO done and dusted, Crew153 and I decided to make our way to the bridge to collect the caches here, despite those seriously intense winds, and the pending threat of rain.
As we got to GZ we immediately spied the cache, and had that “ah-ha” moment as we made the connection. Holding the logsheet tightly with that gale force wind, we made our marks before replacing and heading on to our next target/s.
Thanks for the cache oz_bean_counter.

After the completion of the nearby CITO event 1MinniMoo and I took the stroll out along the bridge to find the caches here.
There was a strong breeze blowing in from the Bay but we struggled on and soon came to the area. !MM spotted it straight away and then we were worried that the log would blow away while we were signing it.

Out with Muggle Jane who is working today so time for a quick hike on the bridge. Tftc
Heading out for a pedal and a few caches. Parked near this one and will do the big loop around to Clontarf and back through the sports grounds and see what I can find. Skipped this one on the way up due to the muggles. All clear on the return trip.
After visiting the multi and the other trad on the bridge, this was a quick find.

This morning I went for a walk. It was reasonably damp and up a mountain. And this evening I was in for another walk. But it was flat and very dry. I was hoping for a magnificent post-rain sunset but alas the clouds would not be cleared and instead the sky would just fade as one from blue-grey to black-grey. You can't win sky-sized masterpieces all the time, right.
But there's an interesting serenity that comes from walking out here. Years since I last did it, and just as busy with traffic over the wall as ever. A peace and joy that stems from walking in a place that no human should ever walk. Several metres above the ocean for one, but also right across Bramble Bay. The small feats whereby humanity has engineered our way into convenience in what can feel the least natural way possible.
Onwards I walked, on aching feet in the early sunset. I watched as the rails and expansion joints passed and was amazed how featureless the spaces around my ankles was. At least I could look up, to river and the ocean, to peninsulas and esplanades. Lights slowly flickered on in the fading day but reflections not yet strong enough to contrast the mildly-dimmed sky.
Nearer GZ just one option stood out to me. And tucked within, looking discarded to the passing eye, was clearly the geocache. I plucked it out and added my name to the logbook. Just after 18:00 and a while before the sun is truly gone. For my return journey nearly an hour later, the reflections were real. Lights on the horizon, scattered by gentle waves against the deep black sky. Ah, that's what we came for. Thanks for this geocache and moment of, well.. reflection, oz_bean_counter

Out on the Northside finding some targetted caches for a Challenge, I stopped nearby to take the walk to these caches on the bridge. Not too busy here today and with the breeze blowing was a pleasant walk. Stopped at GZ and was quick to find this cache. Clever hide and so apt. SL then returned as found.
Pity I wasn't staying here longer to take advantage of the view across the water to see the Blood Moon tonight.

As with the system of bells aboard ship, or the solemn order of prayer services in a monastery, the day at Unseen University appears to be regulated by its mealtimes, which rather like the Bells aboard a ship, seem to occur at two-hourly intervals throughout the day and night.
Early Breakfast happens at six o'clock in the morning. It follows on from Somnambulistic Nibbles at four o'clock, and is succeeded in normal circumstances by Second Breakfast at eight o'clock.

Walking along Ted Smout bridge to get a couple of caches and see if anyone caught any fish today. No fish as far as I could tell, but did find a few caches. I see why this one is called Reflections. Nice. TFTC
