Came here today to take away the lidless cache, and replace it with a container that won't rust out! Also took some better ( hopefully ) co ordinates while here. Tricky to be inconspicuous ; as this is a popular beach.....two lots of two ladies sitting chatting on the seats!
I was overthinking this and almost ended up in the water, which was closer than I thought in the dark! Until I realised that the hide was more convenient than I excepted based on where the GPS was taking me. A few planes landing. TFTC!!
Found itawesome spot. Lid missing from the tin but all dry inside and log ok.
Found it gps a bit off but found it in the end. Our 2nd attempt took us about 20 mins but we didnt want to leave without finding
Went too far at first but soon came back to gz. Nice container - nice location TNLNSL TFTC
**19,460**After exhausting almost every option, the search area was widened and then finally Mr Geckoh called that he had located it about 8 meters away from what our GPS had as GZ. Nevermind as long as it is located and we werent having to linger any longer than necessary, although there was barely a muggle in sight. TFTC
Thanks, the tin was full of water luckily it was waterproof paper. T.F.T.C
Found It!!! Great fond, had us looking for a while, such a smart spot, thanks so much for the cache
this cache had us looking in all the wrong places at first.what next as GPS was moving about a fair bit.read description and this narrowed down search area.cache than quickly found.TFTC
With Gap (of Fap and Gap) Working and caching our way through to Auckland and back home again...Gaps next assignment brought us out to West Auckland. As this was deemed to be a quick in and out job, we decided to get our caching done first This hide had us searching widely. Wed almost exhausted all of the obvious possibilities except that one Thanks supernannny. TFTC.
Took us some time as we werent looking at the right spot at all. Regrouped and finally made the find. There was a bit of water inside the container. TFTC
Headed over to Herald Island with Vistra to complete an Earth cache for Earth Cache Day. Discovered we had a few trads in the area to find too. A quick find here before the rain started. Tftc
Out visiting Herald Island this morning to complete the Earthcache out here. Spotted this cache while looking across from the nearby seat, so a nice quick find. TFTC!
Checked this today....still here .
Try these co ordinates.

Well i swear i looked dodgy looking for this one. Coords were well out for me & i looked everywhere i could think of. Asked a previous finder for a hint & that was very helpful but i still made hard work of finding it. All ok for log & cache. TFTC
Well we tried with 6 scouts. But could not find it. Looked under everything. !!!!!!
Maybe it's missing.
Maybe it's missing.
eaded up this way today for a tour around Mahurangi Regional Park with a few members of team SEAC, and 1 muggle.....this was a second attempt at this park, with the first not quite getting off the ground for some reason that now eludes me,(that's right...we got sidetracked with some new publications in the Waitakere's), but today was a more successful attempt....parking in by the picture frame carpark, we headed for the inlet crossing to get onto the other part of the park as the tides allowed easier access.
Thanks to all the CO's for placing these caches and maintaining them.
Having delivered the muggle home for a well earned rest, we continued on in search of more caches to turn into smilies....obtained a wee bit of assistance from one of the others whom on a previous visit had made the find, to speed things along....
TFTC.

Found this Christmas Beach cache very close to the Air BnB we are staying at on Duncan Rise. What a cute little picturesque park with several nice places to sit. Found the cache quickly, signed log and am ‘dipping’ all of my currently held trackables so that they can get miles for their ‘visit’. 2nd cach in New Zealand. Thanks for the hide and another smiley!
Found it with family after 20 or so minutes. Magnetic and under is really the key words
After a quick break for muggles watching, I found it. Co-ords were slightly off for me, by 6m, so I was down on the beach when I spotted it’s possible hiding place. Don’t have a pen on me, so here’s a photo of the log. TFTC!
DNF I was pretty sad that I couldn’t find it but it was fun looking around I think people thought I was crazy searching around stuff
It is the Day for a Geocaching World Record 2022 so I have come out to Herald Island to "Smilie" up four trads I haven't collected out here yet to do my bit for the World Record. Quickly became obvious where it would be and the cache was soon in hand. TFTC
Came out today caching with Mum (SethRaven) we are finding caches for a challenge in the South Island - nice little spot here. Mum had a bit of a search but nothing so I went in to do all the low checking & soon had the cache - signed and replaced. TFTC
I am out with 2FLYTim today as we hunt for caches to fulfill a challenge in the South Island. This is a little diversion for the last find of our afternoon as I always wanted to visit Herald Island. What a nice little place this is . . . . . Tim made the find here today . . . . . whilst I watched a couple contemplating the loading of their super long kayak onto the roof of their not so long car. TFTC
I was looking in the right place for ages until Nate swooped in and grabbed it thanks!
Reading previous logs we realised sadly where this one would be located. After a bit of sniffin around we located & signed it.
Evening drive and wander to collect the final requirement for the Solar system wonders souvenir - Great Red Spot. These caches at Christmas Beach, Herald Island were the closest ones to home with this requirement. Took us a while to locate this hide as we were focusing our attention on another spot nearby. It was not until Scotty reread the description that it all fell into place. TFTC

This was the first of 5 cache finds on Herald Island to end a great day of caching. I had never been here before, but it was a beautiful day to be at the beach, and there were a few muggles around enjoying the sunshine. I read the cache page carefully and checked a few spots, but none of them really seemed to fit. Eventually tramyard showed me where it was... I don't think I would have looked there had I not known, but there you go. TFTC supernannny!
Headed out to clear out a couple of areas that needed a few more green dots to be turned into smiles with NZ Travellers. It was sooooo hot today!!
Took us a little while to locate this one as we went to the wrong object and then made our way along the fenceline with still no luck. Read a couple of previous logs and noted the COs note about the invisible force...well only one sensible option this could have been in then...and there it was!
Thanks for the cache.

Thanks for the cache.
On a caching mission with Keylev in the hot hot sun. Thankfully most of our caches were drive bys and the air conditioned cars were a blessing. MrNZY and Keylev did the searching while I sat in the shade enjoying a shore breeze and the views. Cache was found and signed, all in good order. TFTC!
sat around waiting for muggles to clear. Not a lot of luck so decided to leave it unfound, on the way back to the bike decided to make one little shoe tying stop, and there it was, so lucky.
Our GPS was also off. My boys were onto it though and found it fairly quickly once we read some of the cryptic activity notes. Thank you!
First cache found in many years. GPS bouncing around. But managed to find it in the end
Took a couple of attempts because the GPS directed us a bit further. Had my suspicion but on attempt no.2 somebody sat down close by. We drank coffee whilst waiting for them to move, then swooped in and shoved my hand into the bowels of this hiding place.
All good....checked it when I used the facilities there while having a picnic lunch!
May be a wee bit tricky for those of you who are new to geocaching.
Under...and magnetic are the 2 key words.

We looked everywhere and we used all of the clues but we could not find it
I'm leading up to my milestone, so grabbing a few caches today here and there. Hoping it might land on rusty's event on Mnt Ruapehu on the 31st. See how things go. No worries with the cache here, I suspected it was there and I was right. Cheers supernanny.
Out and about for a spot of cache detection on this lovely summer's day. I parked up on the side of the road and entered this lovely little beach side reserve. My GPSr kept pointing over a recently built fence and I wasn't sure where to look. A read of the cache description got me to focus in the right area and I soon came up with the goods after that. Cheers for the cache placement!
My GPSr had me in the wrong place. I re-read the cache description and and discerned an important piece of information which brought me to a different spot and the cache. TFTC.
A day out in the Suppa City with KGD and ABCDF4 to tidy a
few caches in the area, thanks to the Cos for the placements

Find number 7040. Got a call from ABCDF4 to come to Hearld island. Did a few caches before we got here. The nearby BBQ was in use and a new fence had been built. So I rang the CO for some assistance. Cache found and returned with minimal fuss. Thank you for the placement.
Decided to have a day cacheing day just out of Auckland
With EyespyBen and KGD
Never been out to Herald Island
Great wee place
Thanks Helen for the cache

Nice quick find today between streams of Muggles.....Why ar'n't these people AT WORK....whats the world coming to...cheers V
Lovely little park. There were a few muggles nearby so stealth was needed. Took 2 attempts and one GeoKid using the facilities to locate the cache. TFTC
Not quite sure it was somewhere I wanted to fossick around but spotted something of interest from afar and glad I could find the cache on the first pass. TFTC
nice area for a stop and see the views. Had to watch out for the builders next door. TFTC
Out with Merlot58 collecting a few caches and wonders for the Wonders of the World souvenir. There were 3 workmen having lunch on the picnic near gz, but this did not stop us finding this cache. Have found a previous cache here at Christmas Beach, and was nice to revisit this area.
Three workmen sitting at the nearby table made this a little trickier to collect but they were busy on their phones so took no notice of us.
I had the day off work today and needed to get out doors, so came up here. A very nice hide thanks supernanny
Seems I was fortunate enough to beat the lunch time rush that Voshed encountered, but on the downside it was still raining when I visited earlier in the morning
Well, what a frustrating exercise that was. Thought about clearing the whole area out on my Mini Escape from lock-down, but didnt work out as planned. "Has to be Quiet", me thinks, since we are in so called lockdown, but apparently that dosnt apply to Shuttle Bus drivers...3 right at GZ, haveing lunch and chatting, then as two moved off they were immediatly replaced by a veritable HOARD of Council workers putting MORE "DO NOT USE" tags on just about everything, including trees. Cut my losses and nip around other side of island and have a look at a Multi (Well that didnt work out) and pop back and have another go. Yeah Right. Think every mother from the Island with children under 30 had turned up with their offspring...seen smaler crowds at All Blacks games...know when the Evil Geocaching Gods are 'Pissing Themselves" at me (no pun intended) so slink off back to lock down and dream of better days to come...cheers V
Wasn't too sure about searching around GZ with a couple of people about. They soon moved of so got the cache while all was clear. Tftc
In the area today and decided to get this recent listing whilst out and about. Soon arrived at GZ and a beautiful area to behold. Parked up nearby and headed the short distance to GZ, caught me short so to speak. I checked a few options once or twice, mostly number ones as it turns out. I Wanted Cache find initially but struck out and crossed my fingers, and legs that I would get lucky. Decided to check the I P address and then I struck gold, and the cache was in hand.
I'm not taking the . . . . . mickey, another find has been made. The wee container was replaced as found and off I went back to work.

When this cache was published we were busy preparing for a quick trip to Thames to do a bit of cache maintenance. Decided that we did have time for a even quicker trip to Herald Island for a bit of FTF hunting. Arrived at Christmas Beach and spent some time looking at where I'd place a cache. Then read the cache page and discovered where supernanny had! After that it was a quick find. Opened the cache and signed the blank log. Thanks supernanny.
