WA Big Trip Winter 2024. Day 155 - Logan Day 8. GCLOGAN event day 7. There was no early morning start today, so we decided to do a trip to Rochedale to checkout the jigsaw caches we solved there before arriving in town. There was time for a morning tea before we lined up for the afternoon scooter run along Slacks Creek. A bit of a longer start to this one, but the trail itself went well, even though I only just made it back to the car. After the Scooter ride there was only time for a short detour before getting ready fro Dinner in Beenleigh. A huge crowd in the club and plenty of good information about future events. Another big day tomorrow. These puzzles were a mixture of devious and fun. It was nice to have enough time to visit them and the one we missed was replaced while we were her and then found. The coffee afterwards was a great reward. Our car load of people was Grim Raider, Kitty Katch, Smitten Granny and albida33.Thanks for the cache RoddyC49445.19 TNLNVisited: World Traveling Gold GC A#6 & 2015 Glory to the Builders A#321**Albida**

Over visiting from NZ and using the time to do as much caching as other commitments allow.Had solved all these Rochedale puzzles before leaving NZ and they looked like a nice compact series to knock off in one day. I wasn't so sure about some of the hints though. Seems the CO has a real sense of humour and likes to play a few mind games with cachers.Thankfully I didn't have to scratch around like a scrub turkey for this one. Cache soon located, log signed and replaced as found.Thx for placing and maintaining these caches.

Having spent a few weeks solving the puzzles for the Rochdale picture series, we are out seeing how many we can find with Legend and Sniggypop. Quick find. Log wet.

I had about an hour before meeting with the CO this morning so it was time to correct a blue smiley and make it yellow. A quick hunt and soon had cache in hand. Signed the log and returned to where I found it. Thanks RoddyC. All good with this cache and puzzle.

30-Oct-23
When time allows, I enjoy doing jigsaw puzzles. I completed these pictures a while ago before arriving in Brisbane. Today we were out and about with the CO and hatzofff, riding their e-scooters to collect all of these and perform maintenance where required. What a fun afternoon it was! TFT puzzle, cache, scoot and company.

Still there.

Saw the spot where it should have been. Thanks for the hunt.

03-Sep-23
With all the puzzles recently completed (some were quick and some took me quite a while to do) and all the anagrams deciphered we made an early start this morning finding the caches. We found this one after searching for a while and then the hint made sense. Signed the log and replaced as found. Thanks RoddyC.

04-Aug-23
We looked high and we looked low but no luck for us here today. Too much new mulch to search through. Maybe next time.

Thanks anyway.

Looked, looked again, went to pick up and some rubbish and went what is that!
Very good!
That is the last one for this series for us.

After dropping chickinlittle at a girl guide event, Mrs EMC decided to spend a bit of time finding some puzzle caches she had solved a little while back. Chikinlittler and Mr EMC were at a scout camp for the week end. This was no. 5 for the day. Not sure how Mrs EMC found it but it was in the first place she glanced. Could have been a hard one indeed. After scrubbing headstones at a cemetery CITO, Muggle65, FlutterbySquishy, The Bug and l headed to Rochedale to finally have a go at finding this series. We expected Muggles to be a problem on the weekend but we were pleasantly surprised by how few we saw.
All good here. Thank you for the fun

05-Mar-23
After a busy morning drinking coffee & snacking on donuts we then attended a Dutton Park Cemetery CITO which held a lot of fascination and elbow grease.
The along with FltterbySquishy, The Bug and The Green Geckos we ventured to Rochdale to find some pictures. It was quite hot out there walking around.
Most were good, the odd one damp, but alright to monogram our names in some needed a little more vigour to find than others & one was out in the open & returned to the most likely hide (CO has been notified).

Thanks Roddy C for the series

In QLD for work and had the weekend free. So I met up with a friend who lives here to find these caches.... and motivated as my Melbourne caching buddy Spiffy- had already found them!

All coords where spot on with GPS regularly showing less than 2m. Nice cammo here.

Thanks to RoddyC for the fun and the adventure.

We were up here for a few days for my daughters aerobics competition and we were staying nearby in an Airbnb. In between competition and the other family members lazily lying around enjoying their holiday I went out to look for caches every now and then when I could even if I only had an hour or so. Gladly it rained a lot less than Melbourne has been lately and I could even get the shorts back on as well which was nice.
I had known we were coming here for a few months so had all these puzzles solved with the help of the kids.
This one I found quite quickly.
Thanks RoddyC for the cache, the adventure, the hunt and the fun.

15-Aug-22
I solved this series some months ago, some easily but many were quite hard and not necessarily the high difficulty ones. I found most of the caches last week but ran out of time so came back today to finish off the series. Quickly spotted with good co-ordinates. Tftc

These caches have been sitting there looking at me every time I'm down this way mountain biking. Today i should have been doing same but I decided to investigate the area by bike.

I had an enjoyable morning covering the Rochedale back streets and connected path / cycleways. This is a lovely are indeed.

As for the puzzles some days you get lucky and useful tools seem to work. Most days the tool doesn't work.

22-Mar-22
No luck here, but then my one minute hunt was probably not going to find it anyway. Wink

22-Mar-22
I had trouble with this one. My GPS didn't settle, and at this point I realised the hints were anagrams. Got me, RoddyC. After some fruitless searching, it was time to PAF, who also happened to be the CO. We had a chat and he set me straight and I soon had the cache signed and replaced. The jigsaw was easy because it had so few pieces - otherwise it would have been very hard. Thanks, RoddyC.

It’s been over 12 months since I finished these puzzles and located some of the caches. It’s time to finish them off.
Lovely area for a series.
Number 2 for the morning.
Had to walk up and back, and then bend down a little. Easy find.

A good series which we endeavoured to complete. We enjoyed the walk checking out the residential properties as we went. The clues helped in some cases when we understood them. This was one we targeted and found. Thanks Roddyc

Had a few hours to spare so decided to get some caches to reach the Aconcagua peak so these Rochedale Pictures fitted the bill. With no luck at the first one (and it was our second time there!) we were a bit worried but it was all good after that. Co-ords we’re good and containers in good condition. Thanks heaps RoddyC for the puzzles and the caches. Loved them.

Found today with Goldielover and the Geodogs. Have really enjoyed the wander around this area. I have installed quite a number of stairs in here over years. It has been great seeing how this area has developed.
Have managed to find and sign all the logs after a lot of hours doing the puzzles. 3 hours on one or two of them. Not really sure though about the hints. Even after finding the caches except for 1 or 2 the anagrams really made no sense at all. Lucky they were all fairly easy to spot.
Thanks RoddyC for placing these for our enjoyment.

Last one! GZ didn’t seem to offer much and I could translate the hint several ways. Only when I found the cache did I know which anagram was right.
All good here and I hope future gardeners are kind.
Thanks for the series… please, no more jigsaws!

Following the recent lockdown & days spent watching the olympics with the only exercise being travel between the tv & kitchen, it was time to go out & get some exercise. There is no better way to blow out the cobwebs than to go in search of some caches.

Having enjoyed all the jigsaws & solving the anagrams it was time to tackle this series. Also time to get climbing in the ‘Reach the Peak’ challenge.

This was #3 of 6 DNF’s in the series today.

**Found Monday 21-June-2021 at 07:29 Smiley #1272**

Caching has never really been about the numbers. I drive generally over a thousand km's a week (some for work, some to explore, some for the kids, and some just because I have to) so there's always a cache or two to break up the drive. Having said that, I also enjoy numbers, fulfilling challenges, and quirky statistics. It's for this reason, I'm going to aim to fill my dates found and dates hidden this year, and a few other challenges in the local area.

Needed a cache for today to fill a calendar spot and after working a night shift, I had no plans other then bed. I thought I'd target this series only to realise I hadn't completed all the puzzles (I thought I had done them all). One find will do for today, and I'll be back for the remainder.

Nice easy find, and a cache in excellent condition. Given we're now in another lockdown (01/07/2021), it's time to knock a few more puzzles out of the way.

Thanks for the cache and everything you do for caching in Queensland **RoddyC** Big Grin

After mustering up some pals for a virtual hangout to solve these jigsaws digitally during the recent lockdown I decided to have a crack at finding some of them today!

Jigsaws are really fun but after these RoddyC, I don’t think I want to do a jigsaw again for a long while haha.

Honestly I felt like a bit of a scrub turkey searching for this one I searched and searched and searched and it wasn’t until I was about to walk away that I was staring right at it.... “you’re kidding” was my response after all of that hahaha. Definitely trusting my GPS forever after that! Thank you for placing this one. I really enjoyed the container type.
