A good day to enjoy a bit of tree fishing with goingplaces2. No problem in retrieving, signing and replacing the log before heading off again. Thanks for this multi cache.

Did this multi cache with ilook4geo and had no trouble with the numbers. Spent a bit of time tree gazing before spotting the treasure. Threw the line up and snagged the loop. Log was signed with both names before we were on our way again. Thanks go to Orange Crew for placing this cache.

Parked close to WP1 and collected the information for the final. With a tick for the checksum it was a short drive to GZ where the nicely placed cache was spotted up there. Retrieval and replacement went well and the log was signed. Thanks Orange Crew for this one. Fav for the multi.

Being relatively new to this craze, I still need a few more tree fishing caches to qualify for some nasty challenge. So this afternoon I took a solo drive out to Lake Samsonvale, where this tree fishing thing is popular.

I managed to park close enough to the clues at the listed coordinates to read them from the car. A short while later I spent longer than I care to admit staring into the sun trying to find this one. Got there eventually. All in good order.

The thunder is getting louder - the afternoon storm is coming,

Many thanks Orange Crew

This afternoon following the morning's CITO event, I took the opportunity to head north to Warner and Joyner in order to prioritise tree fishing and other higher D-T geocaches, as well as find a few from the Joyner *Witch* series. During my session, BenM70 and dahumbug joined me whilst visiting a few locations, and then I scampered home as light began to fade.

By time undertaken and short distance between the two steps, this multi-cache probably ranks as one of the highest! I previously visited Waypoint 1 / Posted Coordinates more than a year ago on 4/01/2022 when visiting the nearby Traditional Cache [Seinfeld Classics: You Gotta See The Baby](https://coord.info/GC59Z8K). I actually stopped at the relevant plaque and took a photo, but I was completely oblivious of this multi-cache! It was only until I was home / some time later, that I realised that I had walked right past this one, but I did then consult my photo and get the required information. I recall visiting the nearby park with jesswrigley in the following months with baby Cottontail, but the time wasn't right to dart off with my fishing TOTT, and so it was only whilst in the vicinity today with that I got a chance to finally cross this cache off my list.

We parked nearby to GZ and walked around, trying to spot the cache from above. When that wasn't working, we navigated through the fence whilst continuing to look to the sky, and then dahumbug spotted the cache. The TOTT was deployed, and cache brought down to our level. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks Orange Crew for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

Orange Crew I found your cache Short Cut Provisional on 30/1/2023, 1:55 pm. This is my find 4688 and find # 9 today. Found the numbers, did the calculations and arrived at GZ for a quick find. Retrieved it, signed it and returned it. Thanks for the cache, mate! TNSLLN

After our lengthy walk yesterday finding all the Dam fine Walk series, we decided to stick to caches we could drive to. And I'm always keen to have another go at tee fishing! Plus this one will fill a spot on our D/T chart for multi caches should we ever come across a challenge cache for that!

Thanks for find #3651

I remember being at the event the CO held when this cache was released and I also remember getting the final cords when there was two stops before the final but I held off making the final grab for a rainy day. Given I have been too busy lately for any real caching outings, I decided to stop in just to break the drought. No problems locating and retrieving the cache and despite all the recent rain, the log is all dry and still plenty of room left for names. Replaced back to its home and the drought has been broken. Another Orange Crew cache off the list. TFTC

Half day of caching on the Northside today.
Returned here, started looking for WP2, without reading the updated description.
Gave up, checked the listing and after redoing my numbers I had a set of coordinates.
Made short work of the fishing

Thank you for hiding here

Arriving at GZ we calculated the numbers and soon after arrived at GZ.
Out with the TOTT and looking to the skies we soon spotted the container.
We've done a bit of tree fishing today and all that practise paid off here with a quick retrieval.

We returned today to avenge this DNF from before the cache was changed to its current state. Performed our equations then walked over to GZ, where we spent quite some time staring skyward to no avail. Rechecked the calculations and then continued staring skyward until, by chance, we spotted the cache lying on the ground. We have replaced it in accordance with the description at approximately the correct height in the nearest tree to where we found it. I have taken photos if the CO would like to check its placement. We headed out to chase some tree fishing caches around the area and we decided to go find this cache to turn it into a yellow smiley face, we are still waiting for our pole to arrive so The Green Geckos ?????? and Muggle 65 offered us to borrow theirs, while Muggle 65 was collecting a couple of caches in this area to complete his Difficulty and Terrain Loop.

Before leaving the new geocar (Track my adventures here D78QWZ) we read the description, hint, confirmed the difficulty and terrain and pervious finder logs. We set off to walk over towards the posted GZ for the search to commence. The Green Geckos ?????? and Muggle 65 directing us to where we needed to go. We started our to walk towards GZ, we were discussing about where this geocache could possibly located and what we were expecting.

Thankfully after a little search and within minutes, Muggle 65, DFC and Princess1005 had spotted the cache, then The Green Geckos ?????? retrieved it and we added our little ink mark to the logbook. While JLK headed back to the geocar to start writing this log.

After a somewhat different day to my plans, I had some spare time this afternoon and so decided time to swing around my local area - having struggled through the suburbs, I headed out this way for more sensible roads. Sorted numbers quickly for here and was soon fishing for my prize. All good, nice simple find here.

Thanks Orange Crew for entertaining me at this location.

Had a free day to go caching so headed to Brisbane to target a range of caches. This was one in the vicinity that I was in so stopped in to gather the first lot of information. It was then onto WP2 where the next bit was soon found. With fishing pole in hand I headed to WP3, looked up to the sky and soon found the prize. I quick retrieval, signed log and replaced as found.

This is a nice easy multi. Interesting plaque at WP1. My, how things have changed over the years! Finding WP2 wasn’t too hard and we soon had ourselves some final coordinates.
Retrieving the cache was easy enough but putting it back up was another story. Anyway, we signed the log and replaced the cache exactly as found but it took us three goes to get it right.

Thank you for the nicely laid out multi Orange Crew.

Having looked at a nearby challenge, this cache seemed to almost be mandatory… so it became the target for my day of socially distant caching…

I was wondering how the cache name came about, but WP1 took care of that… some straightforward calculations saw me arrive at WP2 under the watchful eye of a muggle in the car park… I went round a couple of times before I spotted the required info… which I then got wrong (that second last letter)… off to GZ where the pole made short work of the retrieval and return… tftc… a nicely constructed multi…

04-Jul-21
Stephyy and I decided this would be our first cache today and it was fun!

We collected the info from WP1 and I did the calculations for WP2. We searched for a little but couldn’t find anything, so I decided to re-check the numbers… It helps if you can add and subtract successfully - oops!

With our numbers corrected we were off to WP2 for real this time and Stephyy spotted what we needed.

At GZ Stephyy also spotted the cache super fast, and I retrieved it from it’s spot.

Thanks for a fun multi, Orange Crew

Just what I like....a quick easy multi!!! And I spotted the cache despite my crappy eyesight! Great multi OC!

Time was running short. Had a few minutes to have one last cast before heading to Dayboro. Multi's and time efficiency never sit well with me. I over think things and deliberately complicate tasks to make multis as painful as I can. This multi was the exception.

Arriving at the carpark, spotted a wayne kerr walking away from his new mustang. Every movement seem to indicate a constriction in his jocks, resulting in a smile on his dial. The shirt was that tight, he was having problems breathing and not being helped while he dragged on his durrie.

Keeping a respectable covid distance away and hoping his dullness isn't contagious, went about collecting numbers, a word and finally a multi final. Cheers Orange Crew for another reason to visit this beautiful spot.

Out with Simber15 today collecting some caches in the area, we had this tree fish multi on the list of must finds for the day.
We collected the information from the WPs and soon arrived at gz. This cache took a minute or two to spot, but before too long had it in hand, signing the log and putting it back up the tree again.
Thanks Orange Crew for a fun cache.

TFTC, we had come out to complete the Adventure Lab around Lake Samsonvale. On the way we had earlier collected the information for this multi. We came back after our drive to stop in the park for lunch as some caching. We fished this one before lunch.

Ah great one! Algebra wasn’t an issue and my friend found the next one easily. The final was just about as high as we can get so took a little time and much wobbling! Thanks very much for the fun!

Day two of our trip to the Mega after Gladys said yes. Pole fishing was a strong theme of the day and the areas north of the city had plenty to chose from. Despite the rain the Megatons as it appears in a number of the logs where signed as we pushed on. Some tricky hides and reaches but success at each one. TFTC

Out today with Nayfee collecting some target caches and some that were as we passed by. This one was one I missed at the event held here. A walk around collecting information and I was soon at a likely final spot.
I had my TOTT set up and ready for the grab when the sun hit me in the eyes and I lost sight of my target. Readjusting to another position I soon had the cache in hand. Wow there is a list of people on this one and with my name added to the log it was ready to be set back up for the next cacher.

Thanks for placing this one here, a nice little multi and a nice placement.

Out and about on a very hot day. As much as possible, sticking to drive-by caching, drinking lots of water, and resting where needed. I love the Australian summer, but oh boy does it put a damper on day-long geocaching trips!

10 caches and 5 labs today, before retreating for the comfort of air con and cold water at home.

I had previously had an aborted attempt at this cache. Worked out the GZ, but couldn't spot the cache in fading light. Well today I had the opposite problem - a giant burning ball of light in the sky, and I still couldn't find it! Time for a PAF or two, and just as I was getting help, I saw it. Thanks guys Very Happy. Cache retrieved (gosh I wish I had sunglasses for this!), log signed, cache returned, and back to the air con I went.

TFTC Orange Crew. Throwing in a FP for all the fun.

Out chasing AdLab caches & throwing in a few other cache types along the way.

Hahahaha ... what an epic adventure this turned out to be!
The first stage was a nice easy drive-by then some simple mathematics had us staring at an area with myriad possibilities.
I must admit we spent a couple of minutes here, scratching our heads, until I suggested Mrs VC take 1 step forward & look right ... straight at the object we sought.
Armed with the required information we nudged it through the checker to be rewarded with the final coordinates.
It was now that Mrs VC informed me what 'type' of cache this REALLY was!
So we set off in search of GZ & the cache to suss out whether today would be a succes or not.
Arriving at GZ I looked around & quickly spotted our target, despite it being the middle of the day which meant I was staring directly into the sun.
Now how in heck am I going to convert this into a smiley?
Not having anything suitable in the Geo-Beast it was time to combine caching skills with McGiver skills!
Hmmmm ... the first thing needed was teamwork & Mrs VC was quick & keen to get into action.
Grabbing a few bits & pieces from the Geo-Beast and scouting out several items from the surrounding area we fashioned a very rough, make-shift 'tool' & set to work.
With Mrs VC providing support & balance and Mr VC contributing the stretch & finer motor skills we managed, after only a few failed attempts, to secure the cache.
Made our mark & began the process to replace the cache as found.
This stage was somewhat more difficult than the retrieval as the cache swept around in ever-increasing circles until finally settling in it's place ... just before I pulled a few muscles in my back and right shoulder!
This was also when our make-shift contraption decided to 'grab' onto the tree requiring a little pushing & tugging, with fingers crossed (go on ... try doing that with your fingers crossed!), before it finally let go, the cache gave a few wild swings back & forth and ...
... STAYED IN PLACE!
Phewww!
That certainly tested our inventiveness & stretched the imagination, as well as several muscles!
Definitely worth a Favourite point!

1MinnieMoo and I were in a blitz to grab tree fishing caches so we could complete the cache owner's new Tree fishing challenge.

This was the last. At the previous tree fishing cache, we had a hell of a time... between uncooperative branches.. and fishing poles that had massive failures. But we pressed on to tackle this one.

We stepped through the multi and then found ourselves looking at a cache out of reach. It took us a few goes - and the poor pole was having issues - but we got there in the end. Log signed and cache returned safely.

Another great Orange Crew cache. Now - to give that Project-GC a bit of a boot to make sure we do qualify for the Challenge. TFTC Orange Crew Smile

I completely forgot to grab this multi at the Geocaching turns 20 event that was held here a little while ago and seeing that I’m out this way I might as well take a look. I made my way around grabbing the required info then it was time to put my trusty pole to use. I spotted the cache quickly and had it down just as fast, unfortunately I forgot my pen in the car, so I had to go back to get that. With that done it was time to replace the cache and head home for the day.

Thank you for the fun multi and the tree fishing at this wonderful location. I do enjoy these types of caches and I hope many more pop up in the future.

Last time we were here for a Community Celebration Event we were asked by a group of geocachers if we wanted to accompany them. I’m all in for the swinging lifestyle but when they headed off in a different direction to where we found ourselves heading today some serious questions were raised.

I’m down with all things mathematics (like that’s a real thing) but we found ourselves going against the grain. We re-did the maths and trusted in our instincts. It’s the same logic that comes into your brain on whether to let your other kids know you have a favourite one.

I just got the message at the pub that everyone should stand for the ode, but seeing I was at the urinal at the time, I had little choice.

We found the tag and once again I was amazed to watch my wife get the cache up and down without any effort. Knowing she has a predeliction for tree-cache fishing what other secrets is she hiding from me? I get the credit card statements in the mail so it could be quite a lot. tftc

Solved this one, and made it to GZ, but the light failed me (or more positively framed, I watched the sun set with fishing pole in hand, and I didn't manage to find it in what little light was left). Looking forward to coming back to this one at a later date - really well done multi so far!

Out for the day with @1MinnieMoo and @Nyssaflutterby for my birthday Smile
We spent a lovely day driving around Lake Samsonvale. NF had brought along her TOTT and we used it a few times today, apparently I'm not the best at fishing, whether that be in water or on land!

This morning I had a podcast recording session with IolantheK and I had asked her if she could show me what this strange tree fishing thing was that has popped up in the last year or so.

We parked the car and headed off to find the first bit of information. Before too long we had a bit more and then we were off to find the geocache. At the previous one we were too short but this one was just right for me to grab. with my name in the logbook and all replaced as found it was time to head off for the next one.

Thanks for the cache Orange Crew Smile

2/9/20 Find #4061
The last one for me - and NyssaFlutterby - in this area for our Wacky Wednesday. Due to other plans, I decided to save the wherigo for a later date.
With information gathered, and checker ticked, it was time to head over to GZ and catch something. Thankfully the sun was in a suitable position today and not blinding us as we made our find and brought it on down.
Thanks for the cache Orange Crew.

Back out to the dam again but this time with 1MinnieMoo. I had worked out the finals for this multi yesterday but decided to leave the find for today.

Reaching GZ it didn’t take long to spot the container and up went the pole. With no wind to contend with the beasty was soon sliding down. With our marks left on the log back up went the cache and after a wobble or two it was where it belonged.

Thanks for the smiley Orange Crew Big Grin

We arrived late at the event so missed the draw but that didn’t matter. We quickly said a few hello’s, met the CO, and then set off with JaT to solve the GZ before the rain started up again. We got sidetracked along the way with other caches and cachers, of course, just adding to the fun of the day. The wet stuff managed to hold itself off and when we had the final coords, headed back up to fish a container out of a tree. Met some more fellow game players there and they agreed to let us return the beasty to its resting spot after signing. A nice little multi here. Thanks so much again OC.

When DeafCat won the draw for the honours of finding this Multi first I was curious to see what tree fishing was all about. So myself and FNG_AFFL joined DeafCat and crew for the experience. It was a little wet as we moved from one point to the next point but nothing too extreme. While we were at GZ another group arrived and we all watched in fascination as the "fishing pole" was extended all the way up to the cache. Lots of patience is required!!!

Thanks to DeafCat and crew for allowing us to tag along, it was an educational experience!

Thanks to Orange Crew for a great event, and for placing this cache!

After the prize draws at Orange Crew's event we headed over to find the nearby trad, finished the signing duties there then attached ourselves to a group heading out to do the new multi. I've never done a tree fishing cache before so was very interested to see the pole in action. We made our way to the waypoints gathering info & then to the final where the FTF crew were in the process of retrieving the cache - wow, impressive! Added our names to the log before it was replaced in its lofty home.
Thanks for the fun multi & here's a favourite point for the new experience

While attending the nearby Community Celebration Event, I joined AtTheLakehouse on the hunt for this multi. After consulting with the cache owner, we soon had the required co-ordinates for the final ground zero.

Thank you Orange Crew for placing the cache and for maintaining it for everyone to enjoy Big Grin

While we were not the first to find this cache, we did accompany the group of fellow geocachers who were.
Identifying the first two waypoints was straight forward enough, as was spotting the cache container way up there in a tree.
Fortunately some members in the party were well prepared with telescopic devices that extended up the 9m gap.
We were lucky to be able to add our name to the logbook.
Thanks Orange Crew for this challenging hide.

Out and about caching today while attending the Event nearby. A small group of us walked to WP1 and gathered info. We then moved on to WP2 and found what we needed. Next we went to where we had to find the cache - those tall trees but which one - someone called out, there it is. Now we needed the TOT to get it. Signed log and put it back. TFTC Orange Crew. Had a great afternoon attending a nearby event and then we were given the instructions on this multi and What a great multi this was. At wp 1 the team figured out the next coords pretty quick, then at wp2 we saw something in the distance. There was No checker today to check but we saw the ftf group ahead so headed that way just to see them retrieve the cache. We all had fun finding this cache. Thankyou for all the fun

What a lovely surprise to be able to follow this multi at the event today. A few of us set off together to WP1, collected the numbers, and then as a herd of brown cows, followed our way to the final.
There was no mistaking the final as we arrived to see a group of people looking up to the heavens!
We joined the spectacle, and with more than one TOTT on display, kept ours safely tucked away.
Strange manoeuvres done, and cache in hand, we signed the log and happily meandered to the next.
Thanks Orange Crew for the great afternoon out, and for the efforts you went to creating the event today.
A favourite added!

Attached myself to a group that had the required equipment for this cache. (Thanks Que Sera). We did catch up to the FTF group so stood back and watch them retrieve the cache. That’s the highest fishing I’ve seen. TFTC Orange Crew

Watched the draw at the event for this cache. When I heard it was a tree fishing cache, I asked DeafCat if I could come along to watch. I had never seen the tree-fishing side of caching before. Went in a group with DeafCat, DeafPhantom, Heather, Lizzy and one other whose name I did not catch.
Did the multi, didn't get too wet when it rained... Was still at GZ fishing when the next groups rolled on in. 10 minutes head start is not much in this crowd... Too many too good at multi's.
Okay, now I know what tree-fishing is. Thanks to the group members for letting me join in the hunt!

Out for a solo run this afternoon to attend the CO's GC20 event and gather a few caches nearby.

Deafcat won the FTF for this one, and I volunteered my tree fishing pole, so got to tag along and do the cache with her. With us were DeafPhantom, DutchAus, LizzySparkle_Dazza and fng_affl. Lots of discussion happened at the WPs and we had a fun wander around getting the details needed. Of course we had to call the CO for the final numbers, and we were the first to arrive at GZ. My pole was just long enough to do the job. I was hoping someone else with a pole would be able to put it back, but there's was a bit short. TFTC, and great event, OC. Have a favourite point in honour of the day.

I think I was in the final group of the day to do this one. Glad there was a pole handy.

Cache located, log signed and all replaced as found. TFTC, Orange Crew, at 3:38 PM on August 15, 2020.
