Awesome one kind of odd structure...Thanks for the CacheFind#230Search/SL Time=30S/15:57Today Found/DNF=6/0
Heading home after our trip away for the winter. Stopped nearby last night so we could grab a few around this area.Staying nearby so we could get out and do some of the bike trail over the next few days. Not on my own bike so it was alot harder going but found all of the hides and a nice place to cycle. Thanks for placing the cache and doing the maintenance needed, so we can find this cache.
Today we are in Railton and will be here for Christmas. Very nice little town and thus far very peaceful. Our first stop was the Seven Sheds Brewery where we enjoyed a cleansing ale (anything to keep the husband happy). Then on to caches. I need to find 15 per day to get to my 22000 target by year end. So will need to do a bike ride tomorrow to get a few out of the way early on. We realized some of the bike ones are on a road so added them to the list for today then not so many to have to get tomorrow. We found all the caches we looked for today and enjoyed the topiary.Last one for today TFTC

Took a bit of searching for this as phone had us all over the place. Resorted to looking at hint. Found with The. TFTC
The mossy grass here was lovely to lie down and rest on.
It is a habit of mine to not conform and this is a good example. Starting in Sheffield on the 16th I decided to do this one backwards and took a few days off in the middle. At first I was a bit clumsy, trying to get the caches without taking off my big heavy hiking pack full of camping and cooking gear. At one point I tripped and did a somersault into a soft grassy ditch, pack and all. From that point I began taking it off to retrieve the hides. It was good exercise.
There was some wildlife, tiger snakes, one was on a cache, and a jack jumper nest under a cache.
All in all, it was a great geocache trail and an excellent walking track with caves and waterfalls.
Thank you Angus88!

I was passing through Railton and decided to tackle the remaining caches that I had not got to on my previous visit and this was one of them. It was such a lovely day to cache.

Correct rock and hard place spotted, logged and replaced. Finally made it back to Railton to walk some more Tasmanian Trail cum Mountain Bike Trail cum old railway line. A good clean dry hide. Thanks for this trail of caches Angus88.
It was a Big enjoyable day out caching with ANNAGJW on a nice Sunny winter's day (even managed to get sunburnt). Have had this on our to-do list for some time, so with Anna trying to make it to find her 300th by the end of the month we finally organised a caching day together.! I found my 1100th cache along the way. Nice to get out and have a good day doing caching after not finding many in the last year. Couldn't pick a better day to be out with it being International Geocaching day.
Started at the Sheffield end and worked our way down to Railton. 52 finds including an adventure lab. With only 1 DNF we were happy with the day.
Thanks, Angus88 for placing all these caches for our enjoyment.
The last geocacher hadn't signed the log so prompted them on the location. Turned their find to a DNF. Easy Find

Super fast find with a great hint. Thanks so much for placing this cache trail Angus88
We have planned this day so many times before and finally today on Geocaching World Record day, CoxFamily7310 and I were able to head out on our Railton to Sheffield adventure together.
We found 52 caches, my highest number in one day!! Our day also included, walking a few km (got a beautiful blister to show for these ), an adventure lab, replaced a cache for another CO, some easy finds, some crazy coords, some slips, slides and falls, crawling in caves, jumping creeks, caching by torch and only a couple of DNFs.
We started at Sheffield today and worked our way back to Railton, completing the track in reverse.
Massive thanks also to CoxFamily7310 for an amazing day

Thanks for the cache Angus88.
RLD4963 and I were off to the northwest coast for a couple of days for some geocaching, and to attend a friend's play in Burnie on Saturday night.
After enjoying the play last night, today we decided to grab a few more caches as we made our way back to Hobart.
We headed to Railton hoping to make a start on the Railton-Sheffield rail trail series of caches. This was the last one of this series that we looked for and found today. So, we have done one little section of the series, but there are many more to go.

Not in the first place we looked but we got to it in the end.
This weekends adventures was instigated by TazScout with a discussion/statement 'Day Walk' followed by a map of the area around Sheffield and Railton on the 8th of April, after we all talked to our significant others and arrangements made and diaries double and triple checked we had a sort of plan on the 15th and accommodation was booked for a busy weekend of walking between Sheffield and Railton collecting those caches along with any other GC or GCA we could find the time to grab as we were in the area.
Along with a wonderful walk we had time to catch up with friends and find some great caches, so a perfect use of our time, i think we all were better for a caching weekend and swear we wont leave it as long next time, thanks to all the CO's for making this trip possible.
Thanks for the cache.

One of the few caches that gave us a little trouble, only because we were on the wrong side!
It was TazScout who first mentioned the idea of doing the Sheffield to Railton rail trail caches. I suggested this weekend to tie in with a CITO in Devonport that I had organized to attend, and a plan came together fairly quickly. Hotel rooms were scarce around the area but we managed to find a place to accommodate stainless steel rat, the egg and I. TazScout has a busy weekend so drove out to meet us for the day.
As always, our day started with coffee whilst we did a car shuffle before starting at 'The End'. We talked non-stop as we walked, it had been a long time since all five of us had been together and we had a lot of news to catch up on. The company was great, the weather was perfect, and we really couldn't have asked for a better day.
Thanks for all the caches today.

Had a day out with Stainless Steel Rat and Goose & Egg. Decided we'd tackle the Railton/Sheffield run. Of course we picked the busiest weekend of the month with three events in the area one of which being cycling so we had plenty of company on the track.
I'm afraid I"m going to have to send a long run of very boring log posts. If the cache was big enough I left a Scout behind but otherwise all my notes on each find have vanished into my phone storage so I"m relying on memory. Perhaps our Co-conspirators can fill in any blanks. Thanks for a great run of finds with no DNFs in sight.

Found this cache after a little search around the spot...went just a little further up on the track and found it..Tftc
No problems finding this fella, all in good order.
As always, thanks for the incredible effort and task of placing these caches. It's a fantastic series.

All good at this intersection but log has been replaced within a second container in an effort to keep the log dry. Please replace log carefully.
Nice quick drive by thought X marked the spot but realised we were not quite on the mark. Tftc
This area of caches had been selected to be done after the Community Event held at Latrobe a couple of weeks ago but as it was pouring with rain we left them. Today we headed out with Tassie Trekkers in glorious sunshine to find them. The coords did wander a bit so we were pleased with the detailed hints. A lovely trail. Thanks for placing and sharing this area with us. TFTC
Today we targeted this series of caches with whitewebbs that form part of the Tasmanian Trail between Sheffield and Railton. We started early when the breeze was cool but soon became hotter as we worked our way to Railton.
Some were easy to find, but others took some time as we had trouble with co-ords. Cache and contents were in good condition.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.

A trip to Launceston and Devonport on Thursday and Friday with a a night in Launceston. Thursday was work and Friday was a day off, so I took advantage of the new caches in Devonport and Railton for a run on my way to my target of 500 finds for the year. After a very successful day, I came home with 58 cache finds and 2 and nature lab stages.... so 60 which was a good day considering I was home by 7pm. Thursday weather wasn’t very good, so little was down after work, but Friday was a perfect day for caching. Not to hot not raining.
Really enjoyed a walk along the Tasmanian trail. And all was good until on the back roads to Railton, where one stop I was surprised by a tiger snake, which luckily didn’t seem interest3d in me. To be honest it was about 10 metres away, but going Parallel to my walking path.... I don’t like snakes.
Anyway. Managed to finish The Tasmanian trail whole series which deserves the huge favourite point.

Heading north for a few days, no real plan, by the look of the weather that will most likely determine what we do.
The weather was looking good so we decided to see how far we would get in this series. We decided to start at the end.....as you do. The start was very wet but improved the further we went along the track.
Not covered up so easy to see. Covered it up better.

My aim for today was to look for more of the Railton to Sheffield Series but late last night I noticed the Westies Series had been published so I was distracted for a while looking for them. I am now on the trail for as many as I can find for today. This was a quick find fortunately as there was a muggle in a ute in the area.
Continued on out through Sykes sanctuary and then headed up the road to GZ. So effectively we missed a bit of the Tassie Trail here.
It was pretty obvious where this one was going to be and with the bit of caching they've done with me recently even the two muggles had worked out exactly where it was.
Did have brain fade here and wrote 9.9.18!!! Guess I was adding them up, remembered and corrected it before we left though.
Thanks.

Two days ago we found half the caches in the Railton to Sheffield Series. Today we returned to attempt to find the remainder. While Mrs y'stassie walked from Sheffield through to the Stoodley Forest, the other member of the team went to look for the other caches in the Railton area that we didn't have time to look for previously. The rain was clearing and better weather was on the way.
This cache took a while to find. The published coordinates placed the cache in the middle some scrub, in an area that was not consistent with the hint. So a systemmatic search was required, with the cache eventually being located about 22m from the published coordinates. The cache and contents were in good condition. Before leaving we took a few coordinates and the average was S41 21.591 E146 25.275. Thanks Angus88 for all the work that has gone into planning and placing this series.
