We found this cache without as much trouble as we have had on a number of earlier caches today. I don't think the weather is going to last for much longer. Thanks for the placing of this cache.
Geoturtle37 and I should have been home days ago but that would have startled people. We are well known for never returning when we say we will. There are so many caches up here now we are going to have to come back but we now have one less as this cache now has a smiley. Thanks for placing this cache for all to enjoy.
Nice DT and I reiterate the name of this cache got it though. Found with silverfox1970 and firebatman88 during our adventures. Signed as SFC. TFTC.
Armed with a TOTT Mr C. managed to grab it! We found your cache today 19 March 2024 12:09pm , while enjoying another day in our beautiful countryside. TFTC Sui_001
Found It!After a lot of looking upwards, I spotted it and then got the ladder out for the retrieval. Why are there so many prickly bushes/trees in Yass?TFTC
Nice and green out here after the recent rains .
Signed and replaced with only the cows watching.
Many thanks for the challenge.

After the busy (and wet) summer had finished, The Rats floated the idea of a trip to the area around Canberra and Yass with Steeba and myself. We compared diaries, and had a two day mid-week window where we could make things happen, in the week wedged between Easter and ANZAC Day.
The weather was on our side for the first time in I forget how long, and we were able to make the most of our time opportunity.
A lot of excellent caches were found, and some fantastic terrain caches too. A few power trails, some crafty hides, some hard hides, and even some climbs that I could not do... even with our ladder!
Thank you to all of the cache owners for placing their hides. This boiler plate log does not reflect the quality of the hides. Most importantly thanks as always to my two great caching mates for their company!
Cheers

The Rats, Hoojar and myself teamed up for an assault in and around the Yass area for a couple of days- a most enjoyable caching trip with my mates. Plenty of power trail type finds but a lot of great variety here and there, particularly around Yass itself. We started off on Wednesday night and finished up Friday afternoon. TFTC!
The Gong Gangsters (steeba, Hoojar and The Rats) took advantage of an extended Easter / Anzac break to head out for another caching juggernaut through the Southern Highlands and Yass regions. Blessed with beautiful weather we targeted a few powertrails and high D/T rated caches.
After 2 full days we'd collected a plethora of finds, made some new friends, laughed alot, pushed our bodies beyond the comfortable level and most of all - had a great time with mates. Thanks to all the CO's for your caches and those who tagged along.

Out caching with Wilbert67 for the weekend. Doing Yass and surrounding area. Grabbing solved puzzles and others. Thanks to all the COs for their hides.

Oh why indeed.... MrG had no problems retrieving the cache apart from the numerous thorns holding him rigid. It can't have been too unpleasant, he was eating plums the whole time. TFTC Sui_001.

Our caching partners are pprass.
Today we chose caches closer to town. Once again there was a lot of very difficult & tricky hides. Our TOTT also came into good use agin. A few very unsavoury words were muttered during our outing.
Yes, why would you put that here, the hint is a little off or the tree has grown. pprass had to use the TOTT to get to the cache container.
Thankyou Sui_001 for placing this cache.

Found at 11:17 AM GAFF4 in the company of DiMorgan.
I think that something has happened to this tree since August last year - it has GROWN!!!
Heck - how do you get to that without stabbing yourself with the spikes of the tree or falling on the rusty barbed wire?
Thanks Sui_001.

After a morning out caching we came back to the van to work out how many different D/T we had found today. We were 10 shy of the 25 we needed for a challenge cache The Unique Difficulty/Terrain Challenge https://coord.info/GC54RAX. So a list was done and out we went again to complete this challenge. This was one of the cache we needed. JL was the one with the brains and after BL stepped up cache was in hand. Yes Sui_001 WHY TFTC.
First time stopping here I could see the cache but thought I needed a tott I didn't have with me. Returning after bumping into the CO at the next cache down the road he made a suggestion I hadn't even noticed before. No tott needed. Just a brain and eyes. Duh! Haha.
All I can say is I'm glad Sui_001 lives around Yass and doesn't hide caches up in Sydney....
Another cache where a clue was given to me before I even arrived at GZ. Thanks Sui_001 you devious bastard!

Found with Contesta, StarsAlign and her geo friend. A days trip to Yass after completing a 5/5 in Hall. TFTC.
After successfully retrieving the cache 'It was this big' ( https://coord.info/GC927AT ) this morning we were hooked on continuing to find more of the same from this CO for the remainder of the day.
We were very fortunate that the CO joined us on much of our journey today and it quickly became very clear that this person has a very creative, adventurous and sharp mind. We also knew that we could expect fun caches.
Found by MR and we all played a part in retrieving and signing the log. TFTC Sui_001.

Also a few muggles around.
Also a few muggles around.
Spotted after a decent search with Mumma Bear. Neither of us confident to reach the container as is, so we might have to come back better equipped.
TFTC Haha, why indeed!Team work kept the dream alive today, so many roles to play and we all did our bit to spot, retrieve, sign and replace. This was a quick spot by Marmaduke Rothschild, elegant retrieval and sign by StarsAlign, with suitable encouragement by Muggle Peter and myself.
Thanks Sui for always keeping us entertained!

With roles reversed due to GeoD knee op, it was time for GeoG get daring. Even managed to get Sui_001 kneeling in awe of my daringness . Cache spotted by geoD and retrieved and signed by geoG. A fav point for the adventure. Tftc
The original plan was a walk in some of the high country but with some road closures it was changed to GOM's going to the ACT and Yass for a few day walks and caches.
This was our last and biggest day for numbers. On realising Yass is a little sleeping for early morning cafes PPE, Crash 2079 and myself went and completed the first part of the WIG's and challenge caches (about 32) before breakfast and then came back out again to finish off the rest and having the obligatory Maccas stop.
By late morning it was on to more select caches.
Why? did we let the CO take us to all the tricky hides?! Well the more we thought about this the more we changed our method of search to align and then spotted it for PPE to make the grab. We completed the signing duties and re hid.

Day 4 of caching in the Canberra and Yass regions with a couple of grumpy old mates. Today the plan was to collect DSD's challenge and WIG series near YASS and a few other select D/T caches. With so many caches to collect, the morning was a bit of a blur with lots of little trips from and to the car and a few up and downs on the ladder. We got off to an early start, paused for breakfast and then had most logs signed by early afternoon.
We'd met up with the CO earlier in the day and he suggested a number of his caches to attempt. Let me say that in terms of container/hide quality, the afternoon's finds far exceeded the many powertrail finds of the morning.
Having already found a few of the COs caches, we were now getting the guided tour. Lots of fun and laughter (mostly at our expense).
Why? - why doesn't everyone put this much effort into their hides?
What? - what will this CO think of next?
How? - how many more ways are there to hide a micro?
When? - when can I return to find more?

"A fun little micro - please enjoy" says the cache description. Hmmm. Evidently the Co has slightly sadistic tendencies! . Would have been easier in winter, but i still managed to come away with a win after a good few minutes staring up into the tree.

The Day: Lovely weather this weekend and Aquilus and I planned a long overdue attack on some of the new caches around Yass that we had heard so much about and which looked quite intriguing.
After most of Pebbles guests were due to depart midday, that is when we arranged our start. As the days are nice and long this seemed to plenty of time, although we did run out of light in the end but only after we had hours and hours of fun with the new and old caches up here.
We had a few that we were particularly keen on. Burdern of Sisyphus was one of them which we did early on before we ran into Sui soon after. (Just amazing!) And bowning creek was another which sounded super intriguing and turned out to be cooler than my wildest dreams. It was great to have the CO there for this and many other of his caches we did. Not just for the mischievous smiles/laugh or the TOTT that help with browning or the occasional hints he gave (between laughing with glee , but for a very fun and cheery company [^].
Aquilus' company was, as always, very enjoyable and we had an absolute blast with so many cool and inovative caches around. We didn't quite get to do them all, so will be back for more.
This cache: used the TOTT here just to make this easier given the spikes on the vegetation and objects.
Thank you Sui_001 for putting the cache out and maintaining it.

It was a lovely spring day, no forecast of rain and a perfect day to be out enjoying the beautiful green countryside up around Yass. With Flintstone's driving and my company for the day we made our way north to find what we could of the newer caches up around the area, and a few of the older ones as we passed by as well.
We had a number of must do caches, some we had heard a lot about and came prepared with a selection of TOTTS that may help the cause. A great selection of caches greeted us and I loved the variety, with Burden of Sisyphus we hit the challenge early on... I say 'we' but really have Flintstone's to thank for tackling the bulk of what was required through out the day.
I had heard that many of these required trees, its true. However with the right TOTT these are achievable and not difficult to access, just need to spot them first! Lightly camouflaged caches was the theme of the day, some taking a little more time than others, the neck took a stretching with the looking up required! Not all up though and a variety of hiding locations and objects greeted us.
Met up with the Sui through the day and a loan of a TOTT that was useful for a certain cache, we had one that would have worked but this one was, well, best for this location! The three of us made our way around, my logs may be brief as not to spoil what awaits... but the CO has had the enjoyment and knowledge of how they really went!
A really enjoyable day and looking forward to being able to return for the many caches we still have to find. A great effort in the construction, thought and placement of these caches, had us searching but I liked that, its all part of the fun, and well... we do this for the fun, right?! Many thanks to Flintstone's for his driving, navigating, finding, TOTTS, climbing, wading, good coffee and company! Thanks for your cache that led us around on this lovely day.
Reasonably straight forwards here, quickly spotted and then Flintstones did the honors of retrieving.

A saturday geomission to conquer a few high D/T caches near Yass, with ZQX, AngelG27, Noikmeister, Fox in Jox and SpecimenX. The CO joined us to watch the fun. Between us we had many attributes, including good cache senses and height. As a result the cache was soon spotted and retrieved. TFTC.

Cache 6481 on 19 Sep 2020.
Another Saturday morning geomission, this time with Fox in Jox, Noikmeister, SpecimenX, TikvaNZ and ZQX. The CO of some of the Yass based caches came along to laugh at our efforts, and there were plenty of laughs to be had. I scored a respectable 14 caches for the morning, and a fun morning out with my geobuddies!
Ninth cache of the morning and by comparison, am easier cache to find - we needed a break from all the hard finds! ZQX did the spotting and Noikmeister did the retrieval for this one.

I think there's a singer (or group?) called Why? The title of this cache reminded me of that artist. A song named something like This Ole King is the one Why song that I've listened to a few times. Interesting instrumentation but I don't exactly agree with the philosophy expressed in the lyrics.
But yet again I digress...
I saw the cache, and Noikmeister was quickly into position to reach it. A good bit of teamwork that. Working as a team sure makes this caching thing easier!
Thanks again Sui_001! And thanks to NM, AG27, SpX, FIJ, and TNZ for the company today.

Up and at 'em early this morning to join AngelG27 and the geochaps (Noikmeister, TikvaNZ, Fox in Jox and ZQX) on a geomission to Yass to meet up with Sui_001 (nice to meet you!) and nab some of his caches as well as a few others around.
We all pulled up to this one and it was out and on with the search. Checked the usual spot first to make sure but...nope...but then ZQX spied it in another spot and then Noikmeister did the retrieval. Even though there was a handy feature to aid in the retrieval it still was a bit of a stretch!
Thanks for the hide, Sui_001 another fave awarded!

ahahaha I totally agree with "fun little micro"
Had a laugh when I spotted it! And then worked out how it was to be retrieved! Nice one
Something a bit different to a bison hanging on a fence, but still quite easy for most people especially if you have a friend if your not overly confident.

With the weather being so nice we made last minute arrangements with ALL7 to head out to Yass to check out the new caches that have appeared in the area. With the Co along for an afternoon of adventure and giggles, our goal was to clear out the area again.
Why, is right. But then again, why not.
Thanks for the hide Sui_001.

Tankengine and I were out with two main aims today - 1. Collect caches for the new souvenir challenge and 2. Just for the sake of caching LOL!
I was looking forward to this trail and seeing these new more interesting caches than some stuff that comes out.
This CO has produced some great variety of caches. There were tricky ones, challenging ones, creative ones and some straightforward ones. I really enjoyed the day. Tankengine is always great company and thank you for all the driving and having all the equipment we needed for the day. And thank you to the PAFs who helped us find them all in the very limited time we had. Sorry to the CO who were did intend to call for a catch up, but we just took too long and other commitments on my behalf made us have to rush home.
This Cache: YES! WHY?! This was very tricky to get to! We could easily see the cache, getting it took a little team work. Tankengine helped me, while I grab the cache. Tftc Sui_001!!!

Chooo ooo [FOUND] with DTY73 on an overcast, but otherwise fine day! Now that the Wonders of the World game was active, we decided to come up here and try and see how many Wonders we could find! Managed to score a fair few – but not all of them. Todays caches all turned out to be Sui caches for me! And man, many of the were hard to find. Indeed, we needed to PAF on a number of occasions! In the end, although we didn’t manage to collect all the new Sui caches today, we were happy that we found each one that we attempted… Especially given how tough some of them were!
I don’t know if “fun little micro” was the first thing that popped into my head when we spotted this one – but we managed to make it fun in the end! Thanks for the cache Sui!

21,235. Found during a great meander around the Yass region picking up some new caches.
When some notifications came through of new caches in Yass today I did a few domestics then jumped in the car for the familiar journey up the highway. I knew the first to finds had gone, but I caught up with the CO at this one. With him watching on I carefully searched the area, and soon spotted the nicely placed cache. With name in log we headed off on more adventures.
Thanks Sui-001 !!

Woohoo...[FTF] on a total of 6 caches today and this cache was one of them. I was in Yass to meet up with Sui_001 to place my new series buy Sui_001 had to work in Canberra till midday. I headed to Yass to finish getting the last 3 caches that I had not found there. Two Multi's and a Traditional while waiting for Sui_001. I was sitting at the train station doing the two multi caches when Sui_001 arrived and my phone lit up and started going crazy. I screamed out to Sui_001 to get into my car as I was reversing out of the parking bay. All The caches were only 3 Kms away. Super fantastic Luck on my part. Here is the funny part, Sui_001 was walking a little slow and I quickly found out why as I was driving over 100kmsph to the first cache. All the FTFs were his caches.
I got to all the caches very fast and it took me between 10 and 20 minutes to find each one. Sui_001 was intent on keeping his integrity intact and gave me no hints. All he did was chuckle and watch me jump around saying "Where the fuck is it" over and over again till I found each cache.
I was wet, filthy dirty, covered in scratches and bleeding but it was all worth it. I used every trick I had to get all 6 FTFs before anyone else showed up. I signed each cache DSD with the FTF find time. While signing the last cache Tankengine showed up but I had to inform him that I had already found all the FTFs. Fitzy_1965 also showed up a short time later. We used my Tools of the Trade to get several other caches in the area.
I also wanted to say that the new Sui_001 caches are very good. Every hide is different and loads of fun to get. Thanks so much Sui_001 for the FTFs, the adventure and all the fun.
I stayed in Yass after finding the 6 FTFs to cache with Fitzy_1965 before driving home.
