After a few tough weeks of work I found myself in the position to take half the week off so I booked myself a few days down in Albany. Quick find here on the drive down
Headed out today to complete this series and what a joy! The caches were all easy finds with fantastic hints, the road was nice and quiet and the CO used commonsense with placement! We chose wisely (accidentally) and every cache was on the left for saz to jump out and grab! Every stop was placed with good parking as well! ???? Love the name of the road you chose....very apt!We had so much wildlife on our journey today, the black cockatoos were amazing plus we saw so many sheep, cows, horses etc.We started our day at 1157am and completed at 207pm, finding all 55 of this series with not a single DNF! We will add notes as needed but most will be generic logs and fave points added throughout! Some of the logs seemed full but still plenty of room to sign in between names, replaced as needed.Thank you crabzy11 for placing and maintaining Berrima for us and others to find and enjoy!
Down in Albany over Christmas and New Years so we decided to make today the day to find as many of the convoy series caches as we can. I drove along stopping at every cache, kicking @jamesknowlson out to sign the log at each cache and occasionally helping search on the trickier ones. Most of the caches were easy finds, but ended up with 1-2 DNFs in the end. All logs were signed as JKJS, except for the large container off Albany highway which was signed with full names. Thanks for placing and maintaining this series! We will be back for some challenge caches nearby once we qualify
Decided to make today the day to find as many of these caches that we could. Jasmine was at the wheel, kicking me out at each location. Most were easy finds, but 1-2 DNFs in the end. All logs were signed as JKJS, except for the large container off Albany highway which was signed with full names. Thanks for the series! We will be back for the challenge caches just south of here when we qualify for a few more of them.
Tree is sitting in 20cm of water. If cache is in the branches I couldn't see it. Cheers.
Over in Western Australia now to attend next months events. Time to get a few caches around Albany. Enjoying the area as 1st time below Perth and enjoying it.
Albany Day 3
Arrived into town Saturday booked into the caravan park for 8 days.
Today we headed out to join the convoy of ships that left Albany to sail off to the 1st world war.
This is such a significant part of Australian History. Glad that you have placed these on a geocaching trail.
Thankyou to the CO's for placing these caches.

Out and about again, a wet morning in Albany, headed out to complete the power trail. Found all but 3. Then got some other nearby hides.
Found a variety of hides and in different areas which made for a nice day. Generally quick finds today.
Thanks to all the CO’s for the hides I found.

Headed out with the MICKS (Meme28, I C Nothing,Cirrus_WA, Kapalua and me SirFancy) crew and Burns345.
We got a lot done and headed to the CITO event then got a few more before lunch, after lunch we jumped in to different peoples FWDs and headed out as a much larger group, there was mud and fun.
Ended the day with good food surrounded by good people.
Cache in good condition.
This is my 3236 find.
Thank you crabzy11 for placing and maintaining this cache.
Geology rocks but Geography is where it’s at!
(I’m not a geologist I just like puns)

Found this cache today while out on the hunt with goingplaces2. Container was found, log signed, all replaced. Job done! TFTC.
Today we picked up where we had to leave off yesterday due to the heavy rain. The weather was perfect all day today for caching together with ilook4geo. We had no problem in finding the rest of this series and all the caches were in good condition. Thank you, crabzy11, for placing all these caches.
Quick find on Father-Son day out. Our geo-kid loves this set of caches. Thank you so much for taking the time to do this series.
On the way home to Perth after a solo trip to the Great Southern, I allowed myself another hour out on this series. In that time I managed another 19 finds and no DNFs. All caches were found much more easily than on my last visit as I had remembered to save them to an offline list. Thanks for this interesting power trail. 30 down - 28 (?) to go. Apologies for the generic log but TFTC
We found it on the ground. Logged and placed back up where it should be.
Started our 2nd tour of WA now checking out Albany and surrounds. Doing the ship series today. 9 December 2021 4:38 pm Tyfc crabzy11 total caches now 3416
Another beautiful day in WA. As we settle into WA life we are mindful of balancing geocaching with everything else we want to see and so we are pacing ourselves with the quantity of geocaches we are collecting. This weekend we decided to head to the Albany area and on the way we highlighted this series of caches on Settlement Road just off Albany Highway as a good stretch of geocaches to collect before heading into Albany. There as clearly been recent rains as the paddocks and sides of the road are quite wet, otherwise it is a sunny and warm day.
We really appreciated the history lesson here a very poignant series.
Needed to be careful not to get wet feet here, it really was quite soggy. Did a little bit of a juggling act and soon had cache in hand . A nearby horse in a paddock was looking very curiously towards us. TFTC

Started this series awhile ago but ran out of time we had some time today to finish it off. TFTC
The ships of the First Convoy is an excellent concept on which to base this series of caches. This afternoon we went to look for the caches. We were pleased that the road was sealed but had little traffic.
Accurate coordinates and the hint led to a quick find. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks crabzy11 for the cache and the series.

What a cracker of a day. Headed out to finally get this lot done.
Most were quick finds, a couple had me searching for a bit and had to bypass 2 due to bluechip harvesting operations with a front row seat to the caches.
No snakes which was surprising too. Still a fair bit of water about the place.
Thanks for the series crabzy11
Cheers

Hi there crabzy11. We decided that we'd hunt several strings of caches today including a couple of Mystery strings that we had solved, and we found this cache at 0333pm after a short search - and the container and log are in good condition. TN, LN, SL. Thanks to crabzy11 for this cache - our find 9200 and the 83rd of 86 finds for the day.

Tftc thought we would do something more normal then climbing a six metre ladder and canoeing
My first park and grab trail. This came right up after grabbing submarine first.
After we completed the nearby challenge caches to the south earlier before lunch Chwiliwr and I travelled further north after lunch and called in to find this cache. Cache was found without problems and log signed and the cache returned as we found it.
Thanks crabzy11 for placing this cache for us to find.
(This was cache number 43 for today.)

Out and about grabbing a few smilies along the way with Geotrakka . Glad to say that we found it and replaced as found .tftc
Down for WAGB catching up with old friends and making new ones. A great weekend with a huge assortment of finds to get. Thank you to each of the COs for placing and maintaining these caches and contributing to making this weekend such a success.
Found today while out on a drive with the geokids, nice series so far, thanks for the cache.
We expected to be camping in Shark Bay this week, but had to cancel due to the cyclone. After booking the first affordable airbnb away from the weather we could find, we found ourselves staying at a winery not too far from this series. Mr atCat was ready for a day of relaxing but I wanted adventure, so I left him on toddler duty while I went out caching.
This was my first proper power trail and I thoroughly enjoyed it! Over 3 hours I found all caches in the series and made sure to stop to take in the beautiful scenery once in awhile! Despite the recent rains, all caches and logs were still in good condition. Most coords seemed good, but I mostly relied on the hints and following the obvious tracks from previous finders
TFTC and the fun, crabzy11

Staying at the excellent Porongorup Caravan Park, we made an early but drizzly start on this series. A coffee stop in the rain , and off we go. Mostly quick finds, which I liked! TFTC!
Down in Albany for a 6 day break spotted this series. Great fun. Most quick to find. A few a bit harder. One had us beat. Grrrr. Blue sad face in the series. Thank you for the fun. Long day with two tired bodies at the end.
Last find in the series with DangerMouse09 & Master 9 making the finds whilst us adults rested our weary legs All up, it took around 2 hours finding the caches - not bad for a 9 & 11 year old! They were rewarded for their efforts with ice-cream but were not happy when we told them we would just stop for a couple more caches lol
Thanks for the series crabzy11 [^]

We really enjoyed this series, which we did with Everlasting. It is only now that I am perusing the history which is fascinating. TFTC crabzy11

Thanks crabzy11 for the hide. A nice series along a settlement road with plenty of space to pull over.
