Errrmmmaaahhgaaahd. Pedaled my way around the plant on the nice trails. Arrived at GZ at the same time as a young mum and bub. I explained what I was doing and mum was straight in to it looking with me. After eliminating the more obvious and easier spots I started on the trickier. No luck. Read some logs and decided my instincts were correct. Oh there it is, but how do I get it out??? I could touch it, even move it slightly, but there was no way I could get a hold of it to get it out. I deployed every tool in the kit and my spork. After much wriggling and wrangling I finally extracted it.
CuteOtter and I were talking about the desalination plant so we thought wed have a look. Not what I imagined at all, it actually looks pretty good. Im still against it and especially how it was pushed through. Was a bit confused as I was looking for something more in plain sight but it is nicely tucked away. Thanks.
After finding the one near the entrance of the desal plant, there was nothing to do but to attempt to find this one too. When parking we watched a small bird of prey hover and dive for its dinner, then came over to the shelter where JonnyGoldcoast basically found it in 2 mins flat. A very interesting signboard nearby had us hanging around for awhile, and the view was great at the lookout. Thanks for bringing us here. I wouldnt have even thought to visit! Cache on.
Got to the Cache location and searched for 10 minutes. At one point I thought I should expand my search but after one more spot I laughed once I place my hand on it. So tiny! Tftc
Could find it yesterday so came back to day and found it first look great hide tftc
Found 28/1/24. First time encountering a cache this size. Next time Ill pack the magnifying glass. For those having trouble locating same - persist - it is where you think it is TFTC
After a few failed attempts I got a tip off from another cacher to help me locate it. I was disheartened to hear them scoff at my number of finds though Remember to be kind to others
13:48We have enjoyed riding and walking around the desal plant anumber of times over the years, interesting to see the changes and appreciating the addition of more caches, a nice quick find here today. Thanks to skunk028 for hiding caches in interesting locations. 36311
icw located the cache quickly. We were impressed with the car park and facilities here. A great place for a picnic or a starting point for walkers and mountain bike riders. Tftc.
Took us a little while GPS kept pointing us to the grassy area. The previous comments of wasps really helped although we were lucky enough not to encounter any ourselves. Definitely a micro. .
Quick find and it had to be because the wasps certainly wanted us gone sooner than later :3
Having been to the desal plant a few years ago and sat at this rest area for a while, I knew where my hunt would likely be taking place.
A few people and their very excitable dogs arrived at around the same time we did, but they moved on to walk the trails and we had the tables to ourselves.
I started at my initial prediction but failed to locate anything, and moved on to scrutinising the other structures one by one.
Alas, still nothing, and eventually it was the other set of eyes who spied something I'd overlooked back where I first guessed!!
A good hide here - very cheeky construction.
Thanks to skunk028 for this placement!

Was having an Easter break with my family decided to take off a few more in the area. As I drove up realise I've already done this one with my bushwalking club so is a quick easy find. Made another Mark and now I've logged it. Interesting area good hides thanks for the cache skunk028
Found by Rebel Acts
Another day out with Ski pair on a nice sunny day, this time it was along the coast as they were staying down here for some time to catch up with family, had a great time out finding caches and enjoying the scenery.
This is one of the caches we found on our travels of the area.
All logs signed as Rebel Acts & SKI Pair or RASP.
Thanks skunk028 for the cache.

Therewere a number of muggles having a serious picnic at GZ when we arrived. Quite a spread!
This gave us an apportunity to head off and do the boardwalk nearby. It wasn't here last time we were here. Not a lot of the plant is visible just the same, but on our return we were able to search and find the cache.
Every year Mr SKI's family tries to get together for a few days, usually at Inverloch in one of the caravan parks. The logistics can be interesting as he has quite a big family. All but one made it this year as sadly the youngest still has to work. Maybe next year!
The weather has been mixed, but it is great to get together anyway. Plenty of coffees and meals out and much catching up.
No other family members geocache on a regular basis, but with a gap in the activites and a fine day we organized for Rebel Acts to join us so we could head out and fine as many of thos unfound caches in the surrounding area as we could.
As usual it was a great day with plenty of fun and the usual branding of ámatuers' when someone overlooked hides. Usually us. The scenery was often spectacular with a variety of cache types and hides. Even managed to correct a couple of blue faces.
Thank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache skunk028.

Well what a day, we had prepared for rain and cooler conditions but apart from a few spots the day was pretty good all round with sunshine most of the time and a cool breeze to remind us that the southerly can be a cooling influence.
We covered a wonderful range of countryside with hills, farmlands, swampy areas and townships.
All up this was a pretty good day for caching.
Thanks to skunk028 for this hide. There were a significant number of bees in the roof and in the toilet block nearby.
Happy to have left without a sting.

On the way home from a weekend in Inverloch, freezing here so a quick bite to eat and grab the cache.
Second time looking - much smaller cache than expected. We swore we looked there the first time we tried. GPS jumping around all over the place due to wind so was not much help finding exact spot. Clever find, cute cache- one is the smallest we have found. Thanks for bringing us to this spot tftc ️
Forgot a pen so did not sign log book

Second attempt and finally worked it out. Not sure how we missed it before as we looked there already.
My first desal find. Great place to explore, particularly on bikes. With my non geocaching friends I rode past so many on our way to kilcunda and hurt with each passing. I did desal loop on my own when we got back. Over thought this one and spent way too much time looking elsewhere. Eventually found in typical skunk028 placement
3 sets of eyes looking and could not find it today.. will come back another time when we have more time...
On our way home Wilson's Prom with Bunadoorian and two special friends. Last night we were talking to a man who works at the Desal plant and he suggested we come and have a look around. So here we are after lunch at Tarwin Lower. Bunadoorian tried here and once I had got this far searching Bunadoorian came back and said the words we all love to hear - Got It!! TFTC Skunk028
Grub62 and I were here with a couple of muggle friends to look at the desalination plant and decided to check out this cache. Tucked away nicely but we found it soon enough. It was in good condition. TFTC.
Found while out with Geohubby. Looked for quite a while with no luck. Gps jumping around. Decided to take a wander over to the observation platform. On our return thought, one more go, then geohubby put his hand on it. Cache found finally. TFTC
Stopped here to satisfy our curiosity on our way back from a nearby beach walk. What an interesting place, we’ll be back to do more of the walks around the desal plant. Was a good spot to refill our water bottles too! Cache was in the second place we tried, didn’t take too long. Thanks Skunk028 for bringing us here and TFTC
When the weather isnt beach weather (Hot & sunny) we go geocaching.
Found with Monica_is_evil and Rodneys1

TFTC! This one took us a little longer than expected but once we waited for muggles to walk by mrx2 made the find.

Would have found this one so much quicker if it actually had any attached camo as written in the description and also wasn't in sight at all. Felt something move but dismissed it as being part of the structure as it didn't release. Came back with Mrs P for another look and after several long minutes went back to this spot as it seemed to match my coords and found the naked cache there all along. Frustrating find, thx skunk028

Found at 10:11 AM GAFF1.
The grounds around here are very well maintained making it a pleasure to roam from place to place.
Walked up to GZ and once again with excellent co-ords the nano was found in the very first place that I put my hand in.
Thanks skunk028.

15/11/2020 - 11.20am - 2nd of 2 finds + 1 DNF for the day.
Out & about with NGS who okayed the suggestion late last night to take me out to hunt for some of the new caches with 2 Non-geo-grand daughters. This is the second trip I have been on more than 1.5km from home since Covid-19 working from home started for me on 17th March! The weather had warmed more & the wind had picked up a but ... not as bad as it's blowing at the moment! (3pm)
We looked in all the places we didn't need to for this one ... even went back for a little different equipment then NGS said 'FOUND IT' with a 'gee aren't we dumb' look on his face. We def made this one harder than it needed to be. The girls had found more stones (tiny weeny stones ... well ... gravel) to play with so they were happy, hahahaha They had a look at the cache then continued on with harrassing the gravel Definitely rock & stone day for them
The cache posed for photos before being signed & returned as found. We decided it was too warm, too windy & 530m each way (as the crow flies so double that to follow the tracks) was too far & seeing it was about lunch time we headed back home again. Great justification because we coudn't be bothered? At least we managed to find 2 of the 3 we looked for! Thanks for cache & getting us out of the house

Needed a quick post work cache to fill in a blank calendar spot. It was the younger draggedalong that showed the older parents how to get a quick find. TFTC

I went here early as I had also put a cache here so thought I better move it before it got mistaken for this one. I searched and could not find this. I'll be back.
***FTF*** I went for a walk and came back determined to have another go. Looked in the same place but found it this time. I did need a tool to retrieve it. Thanks for the cache.
