Logs
Collecting solved puzzles and completed challenges on a hill route into the city. Down for the mega. Please excuse the generic log. Thanks for placing each and every on of your caches, including those I can't solve or can't find.
Accio 06:04:33Over the ditch for the Dunedin Mega for my first visit to South Island. Day two, with Crew 153 and Fangsoki. A quick stop driving back from an awesome adventure further around the peninsula, no worries here at GZ.Thanks Wilbywarrior for entertaining me at this location. *{Overall find #12796}*
Crew 153, Pprime, and I were out on the peninsula grabbing some caches. This one was of interest to Pprime as he needed to the D/T combination. We made our way to GZ to find the cache pretty quickly. We signed the log and and made our way back to the car.A great little spot for a cache. Might have appreciate the view more had the weather not been so inclement today. TFTC Wilbywarrior
Pprime. Fangsoki and I were finding a few caches in the area that we had on a target list. This one had an interesting D/T combination so we stopped to check it out.A short stroll from our parking spot and a quick find.TFTC Wilbywarrior
We came down to Dunedin for the great Mega event - which was really good ! - and had had several days either side , for caching up either side of the harbour and other caches around about . It was a shame that the High cliff road has been subject to the weather patterns and heavy rain and blocked the road . T he Weather either side of the mega was reasonable, but both the saturday and the sunday were rather wet . . sadly. there are so many caches all around this area so even after 5-6 days of caching there are still hundreds of caches to be found . With so many cachessome get lost in a bit of a fog . We took nothing and left nothing .
Yesterday, HS and I had traveled down to attend the mega. We set aside today to target caches along Portobello. Tftc.
Day 10 of our Enzed adventures with Robmc. We arrived in Dunedin yesterday and today we hired bikes to ride the Otago Vine including a ferry ride across the bay.We managed to collect a lot of the puzzles we had prepared for and I think we only had a couple of DNFs. It rained, the sun shone, the wind blew, it was calm - the whole gamut really. Thanks for contributing to the fun Wilbywarrior
Day ten of our epic New Zealand Adventure with The Morris. We have at last arrived in Dunedin. We spent today riding the Otago Vine clockwise, collecting caches as we came across them.Stopped at Port Chalmers for lunch then caught the ferry to Portobello.Mostly a nice day except for a bit of rain just out of Portobello (but we soon dried off). Can't say I was very interested in the Sputnik at that time, but having an interest in astronomy, I know a fair bit about it now. Thanks, Robmc.
Nice day for a ride at Portlobello Rd. Good spot for a wee rest. Thanks for the cache!
Out on a cyclocache ride up the cyclepath from Andersons Bay to Portobello and back. Can't remember anything about this one, except I found it. [B)] TFTC Wilbywarrior.
We are staying at a holiday park for a couple of nights as we pass through to the Catlins. This morning was beautiful so after my hubby replaced my brake pads (smoked them in Waimate) I was off along the smooth path to Portobello and back.QEF here - TFTC
Had a great day today cycling from Tunnel Beach all the way up to Larnach Castle. Picked up many caches along the way.Quick find at gz, tftc!
It’s a drizzly cold midwinter day so I decided a walk along the Portobello Road walkway- cycle way would be a way to get out geocaching. I parked at Challis so this is my first cache of the day. TFTC
Found this one while driving home, but a pen was lacking, so will be returning to sign. TFTC!
A nice quick find thanks. The road was quiet and the parking close by.
Ms_KR and I are on a wee South Island break. A day in Dunedin with good conditions all day! Too many dnf though.
Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. Cheers.

A quick saunter down the road to grab a few caches got me to this spot. An easy enough find, but I had to pick the only window of time when muggles just kept coming... and coming... and coming... It took a little while to find an empty window, but it happened eventually and I managed to complete the find. Cheers!
Out on a biking trip to lunch at Macandrew Bay. Easy find, all in good order.

New container placed with the strongest magnet I had. I think I had underestimated the strength of the wind that blows down the harbour.
Yay! Another one down on my "date placed" challenge. It was windy and cold, and we hadn't read the logs at first, so checked the obvious places- not there, but it is still where Daywalk put it. Found with Debsnz. Thanks for the date and the hide, Wilby.
A windy day on the peninsula which kept all the muggles at home (or more realistically, at work). We looked at the obvious then a read of previous logs had us zero in on the correct spot. Signed and replaced as found. Found with Spoonz2
NM! Found in bushes - magnets too weak to replace. Have left at BASE OF POST, TREE ON RIGHT WHEN SEATED.
Sheer heaven to be out on the bike again, after 6 weeks due to a pulled arm muscle (lifting heavy food box to go away Q's B'day, of all things). Had saved a series of caches on the harbourside for 'dot days', so this was our first stop. Nothing in the obvious place. Checked those promising niches in the steel-and-wood safety barrier (which was imported from Europe apparently) because I've been expecting a bison-on-a-wire to appear in one of those... nothing there either. Then, past logs, has fallen off several times and with the strong southerly last week it could be - Mr Daywalk immediately pounced on a stray cache amongst the plantings, phew! Now on to Mac Bay - and as it turned out, met some people walking to Glenfalloch so we ended up having a looong morning tea there on the way back. The chocolate slice alone made it worthwhile biking against the wind on the way back!
Out and about with BCD and after completing my main mission at Papanui Inlet we headed back to town with a few detours and found this on the way. Last one for me for the day TFTC
Down in dunnas for the weekend ...on a long overdue caching mission around the city with kjr as my guide.....couldn't get this on the way out this morning so stopped on our way home...quick find tftc
Some difficulty in parking nearby as the queue of traffic caught up with us looking for a safe place to turn around and park. Managed to grab a spot over by the mailboxes and walked back to the cache on the cycle way, only after crossing the busy road. Blip . . blip . . blip . . that's not Sputnik passing by - that's speeding cars. Gladly a place to rest the clogs and whilst reading the page, looked down and spotted the cache at an unusual angle for a hidden cache. Ok it's a mint tin; I was expecting something bigger according to the prem novice's photo but since the logs don't match up with the finds, she has muddled her photos with another [cache](https://coord.info/GC90AM1) banged by the event groupies.
Signed the logbook in the reg mini keeping the cache goods noice and dry, it got returned but only after some maneuvering to get the mags to stick to something ferrous. The little things do block a good cling here and the whistling wind or frisky small doggies are likely to dislodge the cache. Relieved for a quicker find than the waste of time nearby, walked back to the wagon as an amber glint caught the eye up the slope and three bushmen were collected for fund raising, one antique heading to the Hospice for donation once some of the ancient dirt has been washed off. I'm logging this even though I've not signed the paper log. We were out riding on the cycleway not actually geocaching when I saw an item laying on the ground that I thought was a cache so on with the brakes. Lo and behold it was the cache. First time out riding without my cell phone so couldn't even take a photo. I have however put it on the metal piece so it is rehidden. If it's not ok feel free to delete my find Incidentally 4th October 1948 was the birthdate of my late husband.
On a bike ride out to Macandrew Bay I spotted this cache. While waiting for a friend to catch up (not furiously pedaling against the headwind and taking a more sensible, relaxed approach) I nabbed it. Quick find in a lovely, if windy, location. Apologies, can't remember the date, as logging retrospectively so online and paper logs may be out of wack a bit. TFTC
Have passed this so many times, but never seem to be in the right place to stop. Finally, on a quiet Sunday, managed to stop and make my way to cache and found it in good condition. I returned it exactly as I found it, though wondered if the hint item should be a little stronger to ensure it remained in place. TFTC.
A quick park, stroll and grab with KNCN and TDronsfield gathering some finds along the coast road after attending Natalies #100 event nearby. Enjoyed the cache story, need to check about placing an OTD..Nice hide! tftc
A fun day out caching with nana (wombats_4) also found with Tania. On Natalies #100th event day. Quick find tftc
Cache 502 a super nice easy park and grab, enjoying these caches on the way back into Dunedin, it’s been a lovely day caching in a town that’s not my own, Cache is in great condition T4TC
A blustery day but needed to get out for a stretch so took our four legged family member for a walk. Quick find. Held on tightly to the cache - didn’t want it to end up in the harbor. Tftc
It’s been a while since I’ve been on a bike ride but today was the day. Vauxhall to Mac Bay for lunch with 4 caches on the way. Weather lovely but a head wind on the way there and fast trip back with the wind behind us. Got 3 of the 4 we intended to get. This was an easy find, have seen many like this before. TFTC!
I overshot this on my way out so I kept a close eye on my garmin on the return trip. Reading the hint and looking at GZ there were few places it could be hiding. quickly spotted. Thanks for the placement.
Found on the 30th Sep but did not have a pen to sign. Back cycling along pathway today so stopped and signed today (9/10). That's another dot day filled in. TFTC
Found on 13/09/2020.
A quick grab on a lazy Sunday morning.

Due the the strong winds that can blow through here, I've added another, larger magnet to hold this in place.
Quickly found while taking in the view during a rest stop from pedalling along th eh arbour path. TFTC
We found this on the ground, put it back, but not sure if it will stay there. - Thanks Bitsprayer
Did a sweep of the obvious hiding place but came up empty-handed. Sat down to regroup and spotted the cache in the open in the garden to the side of the seat. It was all OK and we hid it where we assume it was supposed to be. Rather than muggled, I wonder whether the strong winds this week blew it from the hide? TFTC.
[FTF] at 5pm.
Not lovely weather for caching. Had been out with others Beta testing another game and getting some ideas... when decided a few cups of tea and a warm room was needed. Now checking emails and I see all of these new caches published a few hours ago. Hmmm a couple of FTF still available....... do I? I'm dry and warm............ oh I can't just leave it. So I jump into the car and away I go. Past GZ and had to turn around to get to park spot. Wow bit wet to be sitting on seat waiting for cyclists to pass.
Yay a blank logbook. Now back home to warm up again.
