Logs
Removed old log and replaced container with upright screw top rather than systema wasn't doing very well here.
Not to far from our accommodation we decided to tackle this wherigo in the morning before we left town. The cache was a little water logged, but managed to get our name in the log book.
We have been able to explore the area and take in all the sights and sounds of the city. Despite the humidity, the weather has been quite pleasant and we have enjoyed our stay. We still have a few days left before we head back on way to Mackay and we are looking forward to seeing what else Townsville. Here's one to find today.Thank you for placing the cache Cachedin NQ.
A big shout out to the COs for their variety of well maintained geocache types, especially all the Whereigos, the most weve seen in a single town in our travels, were loving geocaching our way around the WORLD of Charters Towers Our 1st Whereigo around this well manicured park, loved the war history, a quick find at GZ, TFTC Cachedin NQ
Still fenced off, with branches lying around. Dispersal activities planned for the next month...
The final location is fenced off due to bat damage to trees. Not sure how long, might have to move final.
27/8/22 Have travelled up to Charters Towers for a long weekend and looking at the sights. Went to Drive In Movie last night that was fun. TFTC SL

Nice quick find this morning after last night’s meander.
Sandyofthesea and I took off from Perth at the start of April to travel more of Australia using geocaching as a guide to see the sights. How good is this country!!
Cachedin NQ, I found Last Post in Lissner Park today. Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache.

Lap 1,5 of the park. AL completed, now to finish this off. The Wherigo worked well and I had no trouble following it. A nice quick find at GZ.
Thanks for an interesting tour of a park that I would not have visited otherwise. [^]

Our last day in Charters Towers and it was the bikes turn for sight seeing, after our 4 weeks riding in Townsville, we have come to like caching on our bikes. Plan on doing a few hills but should be ok with the ebikes.
Got to GZ and nothing, went to check the answer and I had forgot to save the cartridge. Did it again, bikes making it so much easier, back to the same GZ and located the container.
Thanks Cachedin NQ for the caches.

Total Cache Finds 13032,
In the Towers for a family wedding and slipped out this morning to grab this one. Nice quick find. TFTC
We spent quite some time walking around the park today.
We stopped to read through some of the information from the QR codes that were attached to the posts. It was a great idea to place this wherigo here, As otherwise it is quite likely that people will not even notice the posts and the information along the way.
We really enjoyed reading and learning a little bit more of the history of this war.
Thanks Cachedin NQ. A FP added.

We decided to start caching a little bit earlier than usual - best decision ever as it started showering later in the morning and then it just rained all afternoon.
We completed the tribe series as well as many other interesting caches north of Charters Towers.
Thanks to the CO's for placing these caches.

Out and about caching in and around Charter Towers today. Caches visited took us too many spots with many varied caches of different sizes/shapes. Thank you for placing the caches in their locations. TFTC
Our first full day in CT. We followed the Tribe, now caching around the area.

TFTC> it has been quite a while since we have completed a traditional wherigo. Must admit that I do enjoy them. We completed this one after we had completed the Adventure Lab in the Park. The showers were about to get heavier so rushed through the stages and the final. We were also due to meet friends for lunch. With heavier rain forecast we finished our caching here for the day. Head off tomorrow in the direction of Clermont.
Swearah, jodsta83 and I started the Wherigo just before dark and made the find
Thanks

In Charters Towers for the night making our way back to Brisbane from Townsville. We stopped by this park to grab the few that were here. Swearah did the cartridge while we followed along a lovely little whereigo and once at GZ swearah made the find. Tftc Cachedin NQ ️

Done this whereigo after doing the adventure lab.
It was a nice break after spending virtually the whole weekend in the car going from cache to cache.
Enjoyed the walk and the history.

Added this to the list while wandering around the park picking up the labs and other caches. It made for a pleasant stroll, added a few more steps to the daily count and resulted in collection of a second cache of this type to our day. Not expected...
At GZ, the container offered up little resistance and our names were quickly in the log. With all we could find in the park taken care of, we figured it was time to hit the road back to TSV.
Cheers Cachedin NQ and thankyou for all the caches we found in Charters Towers.

Found as part of the Qld Cache mega event weekend in Townsville over Easter 2022. Joined forces with Gunnie69 after flying up from Brisbane to tackle a variety of caches around the Townsville area including three GeoArt series, other puzzles and a few labs! I would like to thank all the cache owners who are making this an enjoyable weekend!
Today we trekked out along the Flinders Highway to the historical town of Charters Towers. Enjoyed some of the sights, old buildings, occasional wildlife and of course lunch at a local pub!
A smiley has been added to the cache!

Townsville Mega Day Four.
Having negotiated the Maze, I’m off to Charters Towers for the day.
It’s now dark, but I did my very first wherigo in the dark, so it doesn’t hurt to download the cartridge and see how far I get. This one is nice and quick and easy, even after sunset. I timed it to coincide with the bats heading out for the night, and check out the night duty cache guardian photographed near GZ.
Most enjoyable.
Thanks Cachedin NQ.

Day 7 of our trek to the Townsville Mega and back with fitzy_1965 and two of my geo-kids Death_killer & my_name_jeff_1.
The long awaited day we drive into Townsville! We did a bit of caching around Charters Towers before leaving. Definitely some great caching there and some good Adventure Labs worth doing. A simple drive to Townsville: we are all happy to finally be here. The kids were very glad to have a quick dip in the pool at the Motel before some rest before all things Mega kicking off tomorrow.
All caches were found quickly and easily unless otherwise mentioned.

27,562. Found with minniek during our Grand Townsville Trek up to CacheQLD's Townsville Mega Event over Easter.
Day 7 of our Townsville Trek, and we cached our way around Charters Towers again during the morning, before doing the short journey to Townsville for the main event (literally !). A couple of neat Adventure Labs were completed, as well as their bonus caches (one a real doozy) plus some other must do caches along the way. This cache was a nice simple Wherigo which we enjoyed doing. A quick find at GZ. Signed the log, replaced the cache, then continued along to the next cache on our list.
Thanks Cachedin NQ !!

Lovely walk in park to solve this one.
It’s Mega time once again!! Woo hoo!! Love these epic road trips. This time the plan is Canberra to Narromine to Cunnamulla to Blackall, a detour via Winton and then swinging back to Charters Towers before the main event in Townsville. Will see if the April rains and flooding detour us! Thanks to everyone who placed and maintained all these caches that enabled us to have a wonderful holiday! Thanks for the cache.

I do love spending time in Charters Towers. I have family connections and have visited many times over the years. I now know it is also a fabulous place to go caching. We stayed over night and managed to get a few hours of caching in today before heading to Townsville. We certainly found some very entertaining caches but left plenty for next time. Thanks for the fun day.
Day 8 of the road trip to Townsville to with LuckyL10n and today it was a drive from Townsville out to Charters Towers.
A quieter day than others on the trip, but that was due to the different types. Puzzles, WIG's and Multi's were the order of the day. A couple of trads of course as went right past them....and we couldn't leave them could we?
Left CT around 2.30 and head for Cardwell to help fill in a few counties up towards Carins and the Tablelands. All up, another great day.
Thanks to all the CO's for the caches....they all help to make the trip a good time.

I enjoyed this WIG and wandered around this lovely park. Even before 10am the day was heating up and the shady benches under the trees were a welcome respite. No problems finding the cache.
#13918 - 10:52:00AM; Day eight of the Townsville Mega adventure with Sol de lune. Made it through to Townsville last night and headed out to Charters Towers to try our hand at the variety of cache types in the area today. Managed 30 finds for the day on the way to and from and around the town in Charters Towers, with one DNF. Cache types we found included Adventure Labs, Letterbox Hybrids, Trads, Multis, Unknown (Puzzle), Wherigos, a virtual and an earthcache. All caches were found in good order unless noted in the log and where required each has been signed L.L10n & Sdl or vice versa. Apologies for the largely generic logs [:o)] TFTC Cachedin NQ
Having a great time making our way to the Townsville Mega with Team Crackers, Micaparamedic and Geoturtle37. We all had some fun completing this cartridge. There was only one that crashed so with plenty of others on hand, the cache was found.
Thanks for placing the cache for us to find.

Team Crackers, Micaparamedic, Papi4596 and I are making slow progress towards the Mega in Townsvlle. We are having a fantastic time finding caches with a little bit of touristing in between. Luckily we weren't depending on one machine as we did have one crash. The cache was found, signed and returned.
Thanks for the cache.
Thanks for the cache.
Catching up with some late logs.
We are heading up to the Townsville mega with micaparamedic, Geoturtle37 and Papi4506 chasing as many Adventure Labs that we can along the way.
This bought us to Charters Towers where we decided to camp for a couple of days and just do a bit of ;leisurely caching before the mega.
We were quite happy that we were with group for this one as we made the foolish mistake of not saving as we went along and we had a phone call which when we ended it we found that our cartridge had crashed. Happily we followed the other three devices and soon had a set of co-ords and we headed off to gz. Here with this many eyes looking it didn't take long to discover the cache and the log book now contains our names.
To save room in the smaller logs we signed as "The Vics"
Lest we Forget

Had to do laps at the final location but got there eventually the bats definitely own this location. TFTWIGC.
Like all geocachers, I’m taking the scenic, slow route to Townsville. Along the way we detoured for, amongst many others, this geocache.
As this was one of the more unusual cache types, we made sure it was detoured to!
Thanks for placing the cache Cachedin NQ, without hiders the game wouldn’t exist.

Great Northern escape 2022 Day 4. Townsville Mega section Day 4. The drive continued from Emerald to Townsville, via Clermont and Charters towers. There is a long stretch of nothing in there, and I had no caches to do till Charters towers. Here I did labs and where-i-gos. I even managed to meet a few fellow traveling cachers before moving on to my lodging in Townsville, time for a swim after setting up !
I think the where-i-go total was four, and each one was an interesting visit to places around town.

So many caches in one park. Who can resist such an abundance of treasure? Having completed the AL and its bonus, I went for this wherigo. A well hidden little fellow didn't beat me though and my name now appears in the log. Thanks for another great game piece Cachedin NQ. Have a FP from me.
**This Cache:**
A very rich park for caching! Had to spend quite a long time in this park, finding several caches and doing some walks around to solve them! Had a lot of fun and what a beautiful park it is!
This Wherigo was one of them, I had to be stealthy at GZ as there was a family eating lunch nearby! My stealthiness must have worked well though as I see a LOT of finds already logged since I was here
Thanks for the tour

Day 5 of my road trip from Canberra - Townsville Mega Event!
Today was laid back, I had made excellent time and only needed to get from Pentland - Townsville! I spent almost the entire day in Charters Towers! I initially only had a couple of caches planned, but I fell in love with the caching and town itself and ended up spending all the time I could until I had to be in Townsville to meet someone at the airport!
Wow, caching in Charters Towers was just fantastic, super high quality hides and a very cool town with lots to see. It was a highlight of my trip!

Day 22 of our 2022 Northern escape tour via Normanton and Cairns to attend the Townsville MEGA. We used this pre event day to travel out to Charters Towers to complete our LGA areas visited planned for this trip. Still some to do post event heading south along the coast.
No Batts today, just a good walk around the park. Added a favourite and visited trackables.

Day 22 of adventure to Townsville Mega. A trip to Charters Tower today picking up a few caches in the area. Quick find. Stamped log and replaced. To CO. This was another interesting walk in the park.
A great choice of location for this wherigo... a beautiful lush and stately park, heaps of interesting features and war history, great parking. Just a pity about the destruction from the bats. TFTC Cachedin NQ.
Enjoyed the built in humour for this cartridge. It all made sense once I was getting into it. Missed the final on the first pass I think because the goon bag was a distraction Found on the second lap. Not sure how I missed it the first time!
Spending a few days in Charters Towers. This morning, I woke early and took a lovely stroll around Lissner Park. Along the way, I worked my way through the Adventure Lab and this WhereIGo. The cache was quickly located and the log signed. TFTC
This Wherigo worked flawlessly. A good experience, which isn’t always the case. Enjoyed the second walk around the park after completing the Adventure Lab. A great tribute to servicemen done in a different way. Found the final cache quickly.
Our first full day in Charters Towers, and we decided to head out reasonably early as it is forecast to be quite warm. We targeted a variety of cache types including Adventure Lab, puzzle, traditional multi and Wherigo. All successful with no DNFs. Even managed to pick up one we think we looked for but could not find last time we were here.
What a lovely old town Charters Towers is. We particularly like seeing the range of old buildings on offer.
Thank you to the local COs for developing and maintaining the caches for us to find. It is much appreciated.

Ian needs to take some night pictures for a [52 Frames Photography Challenge](https://52frames.com/) so we scouted some locations after caching around the very interesting and fruitful Lissner Park. (5 Adventure Lab stages plus the AL bonus plus two Wherigos)

Logged new container after completing the Wherigo previously. Thanks for replacing. Great hide.
Replaced final location today, similar container with log, pencil and a couple of swaps.
Had a report that a goal post (or information post 7) has been re-located. Also someone had trouble finding the final, so just give us a week or 2 to check on it.
Thanks for the little tour through the park. Nicely created Wherigo. Had to fight a bit with some nesting birds along the way, but all good.
After enjoying a paddle on the river this morning and a quick bite to eat we were lead around the park by this and the adventure labs.
Nice spot. My girls enjoyed the birds but not the bats. “Coronavirus!”
Thanks for organising these CachedinNQ.

14/9/20 13:39 Nice. Looks like sometimes you only have to ask nicely. Always good to do an informative wherigo and this one was that. Incorporated nicely the military history forever linked to Charters Towers. Made the find quickly enough. I’m gathering that isn’t part of your smoking implement left at the GZ. Had the opportunity to check out a couple of kookaburras near the GZ with one possibly either tending to a nest or a food source .TFTC Cachedin NQ. Happy to have picked up this as my first day as a 50 year old. No more technical tree climbs for me..
Day 18 of my trip north from Adelaide.
Today was spent caching and sightseeing around Charters Towers. I had picked out the multis, puzzles, wherigos and traditional caches that I was keen to do and picked up a few other opportunistic traditional caches along the way. I also completed the new Lab caches in town.
All in all it was as a very pleasant day, with a cool morning and a relatively mild day, which made things much easier and more enjoyable. In all I managed to find 7 puzzles, 9 multis, 3 wherigos, 13 traditionals and an earthcache for a total of 33 caches for the day (plus the Lab caches). I only had one DNF.
A nice little wherigo that ran perfectly on my iPhone. And a nice quick find.
Thanks Cachedin NQ for the cache.

We have found such a good variety of caches in some incredible locations, this has been a wonderful way to tour the town.
This was about the 3rd time we had visited Lissner Park in as many days. Wandered from location to location untill the final was found.
We don't normally do this type of cache while we are travelling.
FP given, spotted plenty of bats while in the park.
Thanks for placing this amazing series Cachedin NQ

While the geokid was at work I thought I should pop out and kill some time before pickup. Yay my first *FTF* on a Wherigo. So much info contained on these posts. Great idea using QR code’s. Not too smelly with the bats but I did come across a beautiful white flowering tree that smelt lovely. TFTC Cachedin NQ an interesting trip down memory lane
