We are on a caravanning trip around Australia seeing the sights and finding a few caches. After a tour of the nearby cave we tried to come here but towing a caravan made it tricky to exit the carpark and go down the road so we headed back to the main carpark. We decided to leave the caravan parked there and just take the car and poles. We'll we arrived saw the cache and new our pole was not going to reach so we searched around for a couple of natural TOTT and taped them to ours and after a bit of maneuvering we managed to get it down, signed and returned. Thanks for the cache

Find # 15908Been a while since I've been out solo for a long trip. But things change over time. And I'm living the past.So with some time off work, I've jumped the border wall to chase down some long trails in South Aussie... don't know how many I'll get. But I've got quite a few downloaded. I do have a short hit list ( of 2) caches to help with a challenge. All others are just for the Adventure and countryside views. Armed with all the necessary TOTT from tweezers and magnet grab to 6m ladder and 8m fishing pole. I believe I'm prepared for all that I'll come across. (Just had to leave the Kayak at home )Day 7. Naracoorte to HomeA day to take in the sites of the Naracoorte area before jumping back over the border. To head for home. Grabbing the odd cache along the way. Hadcthe right TOTT on board and picked up the TB here.TFTC gridge98

came and looked to see how high the cache was. I can lower that with my 7 meter pole. back to car, get pole and lower the cache. stamp log. Back to the car and get a cache. Walk past this cache and hid eit. I guess the co now will have to come back to this location.
Left with Mogni the day before Christmas to go down to Mount Gambier for Christmas Day. Then on the 27th left for Victoria. Plan A was to go to the Ottway Rangers, complete the Geo tour in Ballarat and then head to Geelong and take the Queenscliff ferry over to Sorrento then grabbing new LGA's on route to almost the New South Wales/Victoria border and the old 2001 cache near there. Also attending a community day event, a CITO and a couple of other events as well. Then head in to the high country and come back to SA in 11 days. Things didn't go to plan. Turns out that one of my almost new tyres was defective ( side wall blown out ) and blew in the ottway ranges on a narrow road in the rainforest, Drove to Melton to stay overnight and get a new tyre there, tyre machine broken and the other 5 tyre companies not open so off to geelong for a new tyre ( and some caches on the way and in geelong ) . The event we where going to attend in geelong didn't turn out, he was late by ALOT to his own event. Then to ballarat to same day since we had a b&b booked for the next few nights. Planned on getting the ferry at 1200 and ended up on the 400 pm ferry but we did attend a event and CITO in geelong. Then we drive into the rear end of a thunder storm with forecast 20 mm dropping for the next few days. Cancel the high country and change targets to letterbox D/T for fizzy grid only using letterboxes and same wirh the multi fizzy grid plus fizzy grid only using victorian caches plus any challenge caches we where near. Plus getting a few more victorian 2001 caches. And finally any caches that had 40 more more favourite points. Only got soaked to the bone for a couple of days but the water on the tracks was noticeable. On the return home tried to get the rest of the missing LGA's around the Melbourne CBD i missed in the last mega. Still a fun trip was had if not the planned one.

Cache 9300 on 2 Oct 2022.

Road trip! Joined ZQX, Fox in Jox and TikvaNZ in taking advantage of a long weekend in the ACT to head to Victoria and South Australia for 4 days. We had planned this trip 2 years ago, but it did not happen for obvious reasons, so now getting it underway. Our goal is to pick up some old caches, get counties and get some interesting DT combinations!

Today: day 2 travelling from Nhill to Millicent and Mount Gambier today with lots of interesting caches planned. Happy to finally get to this part of SA to collect long solved puzzles and qualified challenges!

TikvaNZ and the TOTT made short work of this one!

Thanks gridge98 for the cache and the fun!

On a return roadtrip from ACT to VIC and SA over four days, as part of a FATZ (Fox in Jox, AngelG27, TikvaNZ and ZQX) mission.

Deployed the TOTT and soon had the container in hand. What a great spot - could get out the picnic gear, but I don't have any and I've got to travel south. TFTC SAGEO_5

scramping & I were returning home from Bordertown after watching the Skywhales this morning... we made a few detours to collect some caches along the way...
I have been down this track on a few occasions...today the ground was dry and crunchy...
Located the cache then with the correct TOTT, that is forever in my car, we were able to retrieve the cache, stamp the logbook and place back as found...

Found with hevwalker after staying in Bordertown last night. We got up really really early, woke at 4am for 5am start to watch the 'Skywhales' hot air balloons event. Wow what a sight. Seeing we were up early we thought we'd grab a few caches on the way home. After getting the TOTT needed hevwalker carefully and successfully retrieved the cache before we signed and I replaced quicker than I expected...no wind which helped alot. TFTC

Found with SpidermonkeysMum on our road trip to Millicent. Soooo happy to be out of the house after being home for 5 weeks (I'm an outdoors type of guy) Thankyou for placing this for us to find.

This was my first introduction to pole caching. I was impressed, especially since I am a fisherman. Looking forward to doing some more in the next few days

Yay. Found it. I’m on a high after that! First use of the squid pole with the help from SeaEagle. He didn’t fully understand as he is a fisherman and couldnt believe I would be caching with my set up. Now he is asking where the next one is!!

Many thanks for the smiley!

GeoVenture Mega Event at Millicent, still looking forward to it!! A new date has been set for October 2nd 2021 now. Have a look at GC82DAN.

Was going to head North East to the South East of Queen's Landing this weekend, but a while ago had a premonition... which came true Surprised so we booked the South East of SA instead Twisted
Lots to do down this way, and good weather for it too.

On a high! On a why? So many great down to earth locations nearby...

had a "moment" when the tool we were using separated and half stayed in the tree. So went fishing for the fishing tool, and eventually had everything we needed done and replaced Razz

Big thanks to SAGEO_5 for placing and maintaining this heaps good cache Cool

"A cache a day keeps the doctor away" - teaming up with Purrfect Di and Jack should do it ! ! !

Keep away from all the nasty bugs ( except nice travel bugs of course Wink )

I'd say Hurtle should try these in the day time. I almost spotted this from the car as I pulled up. Not quiet, but a few seconds after I took a few steps. Straight forward retrieval and put back. A low flying plane, read VERY low buzzed me as I was caching the cache. Nice to see out here.

Thanks to SAGEO_5 and **clear skies** from TeamAstro. [^] Cache the planet! [^]

The great Southeast Saunter with Anymules down to the Millicent area to find caches associated with the postponed GV2020 mega. Surprised But with leave organized and accommodation booked the caching trip was not postponed! [^]

Day 8: With Events scheduled in Mt. Gambier for Lunch and Naracoorte for Dinner it was clear which directions we would be caching in today. Surprised So we looked to weave about looking for unusual D/T combinations again as well as clearing a few DNF's from the map as we made our way to the events. Cool

We didn't bring a mat or a picnic basket. We bought two TOTTS as the prize was just out of reach of either. But use both together and we soon had the cache in hand. Smile Putting it back proved a little harder! Twisted As usual. [B)]

***Thanks SAGEO_5 for putting out this cache and maintaining it for our enjoyment. *** Big Grin

Been down this road a few times now..
At GZ I spotted the cache easily.
Set up the first tott, I didn't think it would reach, and it didn't, so then half set up the 2nd tott which combined with the first easily reached.
The problem came with the replacing..
Headlamp fell off, and swiched off when it hit the ground, so had to descend in pitch blackness (no moon).
Found the headlamp, then spent 20 mins looking for the cache was now not on the end of the hook!
Found it eventually in another branch, so had to retrieve it from there before replacing correctly.
Eventually all was as it should be.
Left a TB also...

Logging as a beta tester, love your work guys

Today was my last day in the south east for the long weekend before heading back to Adelaide. With 2 events, one in Mount gambier and one In Naracoorte I focused my day around that area. All up 52 finds for the day.

Thanks for the cache

*FTF* First to Find at 10:26 hr.

This weekend, I headed to the Limestone Coast / south-east primarily for some cave diving, but also to fill in extra time visiting new places and geocaching. It was only an overnight trip, and so was rather jam-packed. I drove via Keith and Naracoorte to scuba dive Little Blue Lake on Saturday, followed by a visit to Port MacDonnell's west and night caching around Mount Burr. Sunday had me do another cave dive followed by geocaching around Mount Burr and Millicent, and then on to visiting Rendelsham and Southend, before driving back via Kingston and the Coorong. A weekend of mixed weather.

Today, I got up early to try to arrive at Mount Gambier by lunch. A few random detours were made around Kiki and Naracoorte, including a conveniently timed published cache nearby to Naracoorte Caves. Following my scuba dive in the early afternoon, I visited the area around Cape Northumberland Lighthouse and Surfers Way, just west of Port MacDonnell. Some interesting and nicely themed caches had been published in the last few months. Following a Millicent pub dinner, we night cached around Mount Burr, before I needed to get back to Glencoe to prepare for the next day.

The CO's father had mentioned about a new cache that he had put out, but I didn't bother to ask for the coordinates, thinking I would have plenty of opportunities to find it driving this route somewhat monthly. However to my surprise and timing, this cache got published during the morning of my drive, and so with some available time, I called past this location. Luckily I had the required TOTT in my car, and so after pulling up close to GZ, I spotted the cache, and made the retrieval. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. I found it interesting that there were no other names in the logbook, so I was surprised that gridge98 hadn't beta tested this cache whilst placing it as a father and son team? A fun adventure; Thanks SAGEO_5 for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.
