Completed the four hour virtual rogaine that started and ended at the woolshed, then sauntered to GZ as part of my cooldown. Roamed the area a little bit before zeroing in on what should have been my first guess, to be honest. A quick find from there, spotted once the right viewing angle was adopted. Thanks for the trad Smile--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------In the spirit of reconciliation we would like to acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of country on which we geocache throughout Australia and their long lasting, and ongoing connections to land, sea and community. Signed during the event at the Woolshed today! The event was a lot of fun, definitely good to see some friendly faces again. Thank you Joolay for the great spot highlighting an ACT heritage location.

Whilst at the event here today, I had a piece of paper mysteriously placed in my hands which turned out to be the logbook for this cache.I ended up separately finding it with Sims_family when we returned to the woolshed and I tapped into the memory of seeing some newbies retrieving it that I'd vaguely acknowledged from a distance.Pretty interesting structure here, and definitely an excellent event venue! Thanks to cosmonaut97 for placing this one here and Joolay for keeping it going! Smile

Found during the Exploring ACT Heritage with Geocaching event. quick find. Found with Mogni. Myself and mogni are headed off to canberra on the " I missed the Capital GeoBash Mega " holiday, since last minute family problems came in to play and we had to adjust our plans by a few weeks. On the way over we targeted multi's, wherigo's and puzzles to make sure we had 25 in each or at least close to that total ( or more ) as possible, getting as many new New South Wales LGA's as possible, the 17th most favourite point NSW cache and every cache size in New South Wales. In the ACT it was getting 2 of the 5 oldest letterboxes, oldest wherigo in Australia, 2nd oldest earthcache ( with a side trip to get the oldest earthcache of course ), and ACT oldest cache too. I also hosted a CITO and planned on getting every different cache type i could and eevry different cache size as well. I also needed 9 more virtuals this trip to get my virtual count over 100. Finally canberra was far enough away from from house to complete the well aged well travelled cacher 0 to 1000 kms with a cache every 10 km's ( i only need 7 more caches to complete )Leaving the ACT it was going via Victoria to get there last active web cam cache and slowly getting a total of 20 finds in each LGA i passed through if i had enough time plus also hosting a CITO in Victoria as well. A busy 11 days. Trust me by the end of the holiday you would have thought the 6 meter ladder weighed more than 13 kg's to amount of times it was used or carried up hills or over creeks. If your cache was found with a broken container/lid it was replaced or if the log was full it was replaced or a extra log if the container was big enough ( except for nano's, do your own maintenance on nano's.

I was in Canberra for the night while traveling home after picking up a wiz bang telescope for my son in Parramatta. The Canberra stop over was my treat for doing the drive for him, so a few key caches were on my to do list. Last night while I was setting up my to do list for today I spotted an Event here and even though it was later than I would have liked with the drive home to Geelong tonight I wanted to make it none the less, I don't get to interstate events often.I was fashionably late (1 Hour) lucky it was a 2 hour Event. The reason I was late was of course caches caches and more caches. I had a full day with lots on my to do list. What was even more amazing is I actually got everything on the list for the day. That almost never happens because I usually put more on the list than is possible to do.After attending the event and talking for much longer than I really should have I thought I should grab this last cache before I hit the road for the 7 and a half hour drive home.Thank you Joolay for one last smiley in the ACT

Sir_spectre and I had hoped to join in the fun of the Mega in Canberra but unfortunately life got in the way so we planned a trip for a few weeks later. We might have missed all the great events and catching up with geocaching friends from far and wide but at least we got to find lots of great caches still.Any cache that needed some love got it, if possible. Thanks

Full time Nomads, travelling around Australia since 2014. Back in Canberra in anticipation of ANZAC day. With a cold morning it was a later start than originally planned. Knowing we wanted to be in Kambah by 3pm a list was written heading south today. Of course the list was just too long but we got to a fun event and claimed a few smilies along the way.Found at the this afternoons event, had to wait for 'no longer muggles' to return it. While they rested at home we stretched our legs. 200 metre walk, a bit of snooping and cache in hand. Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our pleasure.

After a walk around and over Mount Tuggeranong, we stopped to collect this one on our drive back home.
It took a little searching, as this one is well hidden in a very safe place.
Long arms were useful, and then we soon had our name in the log.
Thanks cosmonaut97 and Joolay!

01-Dec-21
We were heading across from the coast after doing the special bombing effects at the Illawarra air show and had stayed in Queanbeyan last night and decided to do a couple of lab caches before making our way to Temora.
This cache was close to one of the waypoints so of course we were going to have a look for it.

There were a couple of dog walking muggles going passed so we took the time to admire the old shearing shed and tried to imagine how much different it would have been in it's heyday. After they passed we began our search which took us a little bit longer than we hoped but we did get there in the end and happily added our name to the log.

Many thanks for a nice hide in a very interesting location.

12-Nov-21
A few days caching in the ACT and surrounds with Steeba, Wilbert67 and The Rats, another trip away like countless others that we have done before. We got the dates, we did the planning, we worked out a route. But there was one thing that we could not plan for; the weather.

The caches were excellent. The company faultless. The weather; atrocious. Rain, rain, rain. And then more rain. On several occassions we had to change our intended route, abandon plans, and even came home a day early. Alas, the rain had been predicated, but we had hoped it would stay away.

Please forgive the boiler-plate log, I assure you it is no reflection on the caching experience of our few days away. Thank you to all cache owners for their hides.

Cheers

Find #4256

Out for a little caching on my four hour window for adventure! Lockdown has bought a totally different approach to caching with the introduction of homework! Much time for homework in fact. Therefore many more puzzles solved, both as a solo and collective effort. Thanks to my fellow geo buddies for assistance when needed.

And in between were a few traditionals, though not nearly as many of them left these days

Logs all in good condition unless otherwise noted.

Thanks so much cosmonaut97 for putting out and maintaining all of these caches for our enjoyment! I do enjoy your hides.

Story of my geocaching life. Started looking in the wrong spot and continued not to find the cache for several minutes. on reading a few logs, relocated and had the cache withing a moment or too.
Cool old structure and good to see it preserved and used. BTW been to a few parties here.
Thanks for the cache.

I thought I had found a cache here previously, so was rather surprised when this popped up unfound whilst looking at caches in the area. Was down here to pick up something from a friend.

Easy find. TFTC

Heading from Yass to the deep south of Canberra this afternoon, my knee was getting quite painful and I needed to get out of the car for a bit. Parked here for a stretch and picked up a cache as a bonus!

Wow!!! Two caches in the same place. I swear I have previously found one here, placed almost identically. I went to my chemist, and decided my wait would be excessive. I decided to duck out for this cache, and found it in seconds. Thanks, Cosmo.

06-Mar-21
Found after a more scrupulous search. A good spot for a cache. Will return with the family one day. Came after dark but lights on at the shed made it easier which was a bonus. Tftc.

27-Jan-21
This is at least the second time I have found a cache here, but always worth a return to this nice old shed. Cache and log are good. Although I have been here before, it's nice to have a cache in such an interesting spot, so a favourite point. Interesting patterns of deterioration on the neighbouring nissen hut. Great vegetable gardens too. TFTC cosmonaut97.

20-Jan-21
A few muggles close to GZ which initially prevented me from searching my target more thoroughly. Turned out that the 'muggles' were actually geocachers who had just found the cache and were now assisting a damsel in distress with a flat tyre.

A quick confirmation that I was concentrating on the correct spot and the cache was soon to hand and log signed. TFTC cosmonaut97.

Out with Marmaduke Rothchild. A quick find here. TFTC

03-Jan-21
After watching WW84 at the cinemas in Tuggeranong, I decided to get a few quick park'n'grabs during the afternoon on the way home. I love the origin story behind this cache: I was very disappointed not to have attended your CC event months ago! Nonetheless it's great to see a new cache highlighting this awesome location: the site of many past, great events! Today, it took a bit of time to find the cache, but I had the right idea - it just required a bit of a harder, closer look. A clever hide. TFTC cosmonaut97!

Family Xmas dinner at the Woolshed, provided and opportunity to let the family find a geocache.

26-Nov-20
Had been here before while doing a Lab Cache, but didn't look for any regular nearby so dropped back past this evening.
Coordinates were good and area was quiet so had cache in hand in no time.
Took a nearby seat while completing the log and returned the cache.
Thanks cosmonaut97. A worthy hiding spot.

Spent the day around Weston Creek, then Tuggeranong collecting a number of the more recently placed caches. TFTC.

11-Oct-20
Had a look for this one yesterday while on our usual run/ride around the lake, while a family was setting up for a party - bad timing! We were using our phone's GPS, so we couldn't pinpoint the exact location, but after a while of looking, we realised we had no chance of finding it...the family had all their party equipment right at GZ! So we came back today and found it straight away. A great spot for a cache! TFTC! Smile

There is a 2020 GC Community Event in ACT today and having a free day, I decided to head over. Along the way, I also found a few other caches. These included some pre-solved & post-solved mystery caches and a couple of Trads. I ended up with 7 finds and 1 event which makes 8 Big Grin’s added to my find list. Many fun times were had by all and it was great to catch up many people who I hadn’t seen in quite some time. As for the other caches, they were all in great shape and have plenty of room on the logbooks/sheets. TB visit on all caches. I would like to thank all CO’s of the caches I found and for allowing them to bring enjoyment to me and others. Big Grin TFTC’s & TFTE Big Grin

After B'fast and the final stretch of the journey to the event, I discovered that this cache was at GZ and seeing how I had plenty of time before the event started, I quickly found this cache. I then signed it for both Joolay and myself before other people arrived for the event which starts in about 20minutes. TFTC Big Grin

Had arranged with the FFLL ladies to spend the day attending the Community Celebration Event and picking up some caches in the southern suburbs. It was a nice day out and about although we did get drizzled on a few times.

Had to grab this one whilst at the event here being I missed the last event and the mass group ftf. No issues locating this one, signed and replaced as found.

Thanks for the cache placement cosmonaut97 Smile and thanks to the FFLL ladies for another fun day out and about.
