Having had no luck accessing the Mt Tantangara area (see log here... https://coord.info/GCAVXEE), I headed back to Cooma and had a few enjoyable hours of geocaching there.I've never been up Mt Gladstone before! I've driven through Cooma heaps of times, but usually only stopped for the loo on the way to the snow. It was nice to have time to explore today. Thanks for the cache, DARKSIDEDAN! Cache was in good condition and the contents were dry
What a hunt. Ended up trusting the coordinates and not long after found the cache. Out on a road trip with tash2494
#7879Day Two of our Southern NSW trip. Bega > Wagga WaggaAn early start today and were on the road, targetting whatever DTs, attributes and types we want. end of copy paste A nice wander from the top of the lookout, then a quick search through the rocks revealed the cache. TNLN SLThanks for placing and maintaining this cache DARKSIDEDAN
#7879Day two of our LGA chase out through to Wagga and beyond. today we drive across the range to Wagga. We're always keen for non-trads, and LBHs have always been a favourite, ever since we had to find a bunch for one of the first challenges we ever went for. Thanks for the cache!
As the daylight was dipping we decided to duck up Mt Gladstone to enjoy some lovely views! To my surprise, when we got to the top, it started snowing! Not much, but enough for us to yell ITS SNOWING like small children on Christmas. That was cool! I suppose thats what happens when you head near the snowy mountains in the middle of winter! Dashed off to grab a few caches round the mountain as the light was fading before heading home! After the previous cache I walked down the nearby trail straight to GZ! Once there I groaned, so many rocks! Luckily, even though the cache was very well covered, I spotted some rocks that warranted investigating which turned up the cache! All in good condition, but unfortunately no stamp in this one. Time to make it back to the car! Thanks for placing this cache in this amazing spot DARKSIDEDAN!
Found with Deathsteak on 12/5. Cache poorly hidden. Residents same spot but better camouflage!!
After several inclement days of rain we are trying to make up for it today. Japaras back on again as the showers have turned into rain. Never mind we're not leaving the caches here without a log entry. TFTC DARKSIDEDAN.
A really nice walk to the cache saw many skinks and ladybugs not sure how this is a letterbox but a nice cache TFTC find 302 thanks darksidedan
TFTC found with Crack n Lee Lee. Stayed a few days in Jindabyne now off to the Mega in Canberra . Great views
On a road trip to attend Capital Geobash Mega and see many different sights along the way with 2beez.Enjoyed the small walk and views here. Spotted this one on the right angle. Thanks DARKSIDEDAN for creating for us all to enjoy. Bit of fun and a bit of a wild goose chase around the bush for awhile but we found it
Found on my trip towards Beridale to stay with my friend before heading to The Mile High Event at Tantangara tomorrow. Lovely walk along the southern side of the mountain. Cache was easily spotted, although there's no stamp in this ache (or in the Billy Goat Letterbox, either). Great views, TFTC!
A nice cache, there was no stamp in the cache though, maybe someone thought it was swag?
Quick easy find on our way home from a weekend exploring Cambera with a quick detour up the mountain to check out some mountain bike trails tftc
Another great spot walking these trails even though it was drizzly. No views today but lots of rocks to be found. No problem finding the cache.
Park Lane is the boundary between Hide Park and the homes of the wealthy hubward on the hill of Ankh. It is also the location of the Klatchian embassy.
CaptainVimes and I are on a driving holiday from Melbourne to Canberra this week. I was dismayed by the number of rocks at GZ but some logic soon had it in hand. Thanks for the fun DARKSIDEDAN
A little precarious for my dodgy ankles getting over the edge but the cache was easily located once there, and then the much easier return for the little bit of up needed. TFTC DSD.
On a trip up to the snowy's to finally get the 2000 cache. Found this along the way
After grabbing South Gladdy we made the short walk across to this one for a quick find (cache hadn't been concealed properly). TFTC
Breathtaking views from up here!
Took a few pictures and some selfies as keepsakes and headed off to grab this one.

I thought I was in for quite a search but fortunately it stood out - slightly precarious approach required. No stamps or anything apart from the logbook inside, though. TFTC!
A nice walk along the trail up here to GZ, cache found after a short search, cache is all good
Day 6 of Courtneyrose_ and I’s trip from Adelaide to Sydney, today we headed from Cooma to Batemans Bay via Bega. After caching around Cooma in the morning before our event it was Was interesting to go from country highlands to the coast after being inland for the whole trip.
Thanks for the cache

Found this morning on our way back home. TNLN, now back to Heidis for a pot of tea with some pancakes, thanks.
Spent the weekend in the northern parts of Kosciusko NP collecting a few caches
A short detour out of journey to grab this letterbox. Nice views from up here.

Travelled from Sydney to Jindabyne for the event tonight. After the event did some caches back to Cooma. Fun caching in the dark - should be a higher difficulty rating.
Found a variety of hides and in different areas which made for a nice day. Generally quick finds today
Thanks to all the CO’s for the hides I found.

Day #1 [14-2] of 5 for my trip away. Today, I headed down to my overnight pit stop in Cooma before heading into Merimbula tomorrow. Yes of course, I am going to Geocache the whole way there and back apart from visiting the beach. The caches I found today were mostly quick and easy finds with a couple of DNF’s or NA’s due to factors like: road quality, unable to find them or I was starting to run out of time to get to Cooma. The focus for the finds were caches that fitted into one (or more) of the following categories: For a self-imposed challenge, historic cache (pre-2010), a quick park and grab along the way or part of the Kelly Road Powertrail. Unfortunately, I didn’t get to finish this trail due to the road conditions but I did manage the start couple plus the last one of it. TB visit on all found caches. I would like to thank all CO’s of the caches I found today for allowing them to bring me and the caching community enjoyment. TFTC’s
P.S. Sorry, about the generic logs. I will endeavour to edit them at some point in the future for the extended story. This is when I have more time on my hands.

The rain had stopped and I went for a few caches in Cooma.
Impressive construction at the coordinates, wonder who and why
Thank you for hiding

No stamp inside, not a letterbox anymore, contents empty and boring and dried up by now. The clue could be a bit more helpful, of course rocks, just get to the spot where you’ve hopped down a bit next to the bushes, and are at eye level with rock pile.
#6152.
On our way back home after a short holiday in Victoria. This cache seemed like a good spot and opportunity for a rest stop. We enjoyed the stroll over to gz, but when we got there I had a moment of despair as I thought this could turn out to be a long search. Fortunately there was a little piece of cache visible and it ended up being a quick find. I would love to do some more exploring, maybe next time when we have more time. TFTC!

First letterbox find. I found what I think was a clue, but unsure what to do next (left it there). Think I did it wrong expecting another location or something. Warm & fuzzies achieved anywho - ta, moving on
Day 8 of our 2 week road trip south from Brisbane. After overcoming floods, a bogged car and vehicle electrical issues, we finally reached Canberra to spend a few days with relatives and explore some of the newer virtual and earth caches since my last visit. It was then time to continue the journey south towards the Snowy Mountains.
After spending the night in Cooma, it was a chilly start to the day at -1°, with a heavy frost. I had to head back inside before we left for some warm water to dissolve the ice covering my windscreen.
We headed up to Mt Gladstone on our way out of town. I headed for the cache while my wife chose instead to snuggle in the warmth of the car. At GZ I was dismayed with the amount of possible hiding places but following my phone it took me right on top of the cache and it was found in the first place I searched. Some days are definitely luckier than others! TFTC

Thanks for this cache, Darksidedan. I've enjoyed our time on this hill, admiring the beautiful views. This cache is in good condition.
Between rain showers I managed to find this one. Spent too long searching the wrong rocks though. Love the views, both north and south.
Cheers

On our way to Merimbula for a holiday. Beautiful spot, this is actually our first letterbox cache. Tftc!
Exploring the top of the mountain with the lookouts and this cache took us along another path. Once at GZ took a few minutes to spot the hide only a couple of metres from where the GPSr was pointing.
Glad to have found it fairly quickly! Very still here with a crow cawing. TFTC
Trusted the co ords in the rocks . Been up here prior and the views are always worth it .
Thanks to DSD.
Thanks to DSD.
Out for a fun days caching with fitzy_1965, albida33 & cosmonaut97.
We headed from Canberra down to Cooma out to Anaminaby and back through Namadgi.
Quick find here today.

Canberra Day Long weekend Day 2. Cooma and Boboyan Road. Another day for a road trip took me with Cosmonaut97, Fitzy_1965 & MinnieK down to Cooma, across to Adaminaby, out to Eucumbene dam and back home via Boboyan road. Two early DNFs, but many finds. There was huge over lap in out team and although we visited over 45 caches today, no of us made that many finds today.
Thanks for the cache DARKSIDEDAN

Came here with ilook4geo before leaving camp in Cooma and soon had cache in hand. Both names were signed on the log, all was put back as it had been found and we were on our way again. Thanks go to DARKSIDEDAN for this cache placement.
Out to find a few caches this morning with goingplaces2. No problem with this one. TFTC.
TFTC Another trip to the Snowys, this time for work. Picked up a few caches on the way to and fro. Grateful thanks to COs for placing and maintaining the caches to entertain me on my journey.
A road trip from Jindabyne to Cooma calls for a hike around Mt Gladstone lookout. Would have loved to find all of the geo caches here but too many muggles.
I enjoyed searching for this one. Was just about to give up looking under all the rocks. Then I spotted the sneaky cache. Beautiful views. TFTC

Quick find thanks to very good coodinates here and just being able to spot a slight bit from under the cover, all in good order. Good to get another cache from the main CO of the day! Took TB.
The main day hike:
DSD had called to THE mointain (witht the CITO on the highest point of Australia) and lots of people came. A great day out! What a nice hike/ride here today from Charlottse Pass with perfect weather and all the familar faces. A big 26k effort from us (with some side trips, most of it on the bike) What a great feeling to suddently be at the highest point in Australia and to collect so many high altitude caches up here today. Big thank you to DSD for initiating this and for the cache owners for putting so many caches out in the area. I spend a few hours afterward to collect more great caches in the area on the way home, this was one of them.
Thank you DARKSIDEDAN for putting the cache out and maintaining it.

A road trip down to Jindabyne with caching mates SpecimenX, TikvaNZ, Fox in Jox and AngelG27. Letterboxes are not a common cache type, so we targeted three of them on the way. This was one of the three.
We parked as close as we could, then walked the rest of the way. The ground was uneven right at the end, but not too bad for able-bodied people who watch their footing. It might have been FIJ who found the cache.
Chances are someone signed the log with initials FATZS or some variation of the initial letters of our caching names, so as not to take up too much room in the log.

Off we go for an over night geomission to Cooma, Jindabyne and a Mt. K climb. Top weekend of quality caching and socialising. I was part of team FATZS (Fox in Jox, AngelG27, TikvaNZ, ZQX, and me, specimenX) on signed logs to save space.
Up, up we go to this one. After parking the cars nearby it was only a short stroll to GZ. Quick find after a short scrabble over the rocks!
Thanks for the hide, DARKSIDEDAN

Found with Fox in Jox, SpecimenX, AngelG27 and ZQX, on our way to Jinabyne from Canberra. We stopped in Cooma to grab a few caches, have lunch, and complete the adventure lab. We did a quick detour to here on our way out of town, despite the heat. Cache soon found by Fox in Jox. Left TB. TFTC.

A drive from Bega to Jindabyne today. Lots of country roads with great views and nice little towns. Also a cracker of a day with sun and blue skies.

Cache 7098 on 23 Jan 2021.
Out on a caching mission with TikvaNZ, Fox in Jox, SpecimenX and ZQX to get some altitude this weekend! Very excited to walk up Mount Kosciusko- my first time, and excited to get out for my first overnight caching mission in a year. But of course there are plenty of interesting caches to get along the way, and a couple of events to drop in to! Just need to keep cool while we do it, with the first really hot weather forecast this weekend.
This cache: a nice short walk and a quick find by Fox!
Thanks DARKSIDEDAN for the cache and the fun!

interesting location. looks like a stone wall or was at one point.. quick find ..and a bonus Trig nearby too..
took the shortcut back to car park.

On a few days off to celebrate FFLL No 2's birthday and take an extra long weekend. We picked up ALL7 and headed to Cooma for day trip in the lovely spring weather. A quick fbit of a search around for this one, lots of hidey holes, but eventually we came up with the goods, thanks for the placement.
After looking and looking ended up finding. Thanks to the eagle eye of Kittykatch. Disturbed some nasty ants but the cache was not there.
On a day trip to Cooma chasing windmills with Barb2e and Kittykatch. Darn cold but lovely to be out and about. TFTC DARKSIDEDAN

We had actually planned to come out this way today anyway, but seeing the new caches out this way still hadn't been found, we decided to leave a little earlier than first thought. Which worked out really well in the end as we got home earlier to be able to attend to our families needs and wants.
This one took ages to find. It was where we thought it sort of was, but not. The coordinates seemed ok. The phone did swing a bit, but they always came back to the main area. It was nice to finally find though. Then we were off to another cache nearby which I hadn't found yet. Tftc DARKSIDEDAN!!!

Chooo ooo [FTF] - with dty73 on a cache run to Cooma! Hmmm - was only down this way a couple of days ago - don't tell me the DSD piecemeal deployment is back.
This cache was the hardest to find for the day! It took us ages! I would say a D4/T2.5 would be a more accurate D/T for this one! We had a fun day caching, exploring, chatting, having lunch and relaxing. Thanks for the cache DSD.
