No joy for us! Pretty sure we found the right spot by the clues, but could not locate the cache. Last find was May, so it could possibly be missing?
We are on a 2 week holiday here and now on our way through to Strahan for a couple of days. We stopped for a break here, as had this solved before our trip. It was a sneaky one but I trusted the GPS and soon had the log signed. Loving the trees in their autumn tones. TFTC
It was time for a return trip to Tassie to explore the southern part of the state. I paired up with OzHockeyChick for a 5 day caching blitz with some sightseeing in between. It was sadly the final day and we were mopping up the end of the TTSS and SSF series while making our way from Orford to Hobart via a whole heap of other caches.
Back in town now as we slowly head to the airport. This one took a while to spot but we eventually got there.
Thanks 63ROOS for adding this cache to the worldwide collection for us all to enjoy.

Taking some time off to explore more of the apple isle with RoamingHowie. Day Five: Finish TTSS & SSF, Richmond, New Norfolk and various caches & AdLabs along the way.
A great little puzzle pre-solved at home. A quick find at gz.
Thanks for bringing us here by placing this cache, 63ROOS

Bit tricky in the dark but izzy with the eyes of an owl spotted after 5 minutes TFTC
Had the first set of coordinates worked out quite some time ago but on that occasion I didn't have my workings to continue. On this occasion the cache proved to be a quick find.
Mrs TiedyeSmileys loves sudokus. Mr TiedyeSmileys thought he knew where the cache would be. He couldn't spot it as it was hanging above his head like a mistletoe.

I had a look at this puzzle some time ago now, as we were going up to New Norfolk for the afternoon. I didn’t attempt it that day as I thought I wouldn’t have enough time to get it done. Today with another trip up to New Norfolk planned, I had another look at it. For some reason I remembered the puzzle being a crossword which I’m not very good at, but I do like sudokus. It didn’t take me that long to solve and work out where WP2 was. After visiting WP2 and collecting the needed information I took the short walk to GZ. The gpsr did not like being under a tree and kept jumping around everywhere, but it did give us one metre in a particular spot and so we focused our search there. After about ten minutes it was found, that is a tough one! Thanks for the puzzle and cache 63ROOS!
Found and signed while on a 10 day holiday with my love doing what we love doing most. [:X]
We thought we had this one sorted from home. We hadn't and found ourselves completely reworking the Sudoku from the carpark.
We got there in the end and were lucky to find the dastardly hide fairly quickly.
TFTC 63ROOS.
After being chased South a little early by the weather, catnap777 and I just set up camp in Hobart for a little while longer which suited us just fine. We had a lot of geocaching business down there that kept us very busy till well after the water's had receded back up north. [^]
This cache aided our challenge aspirations by giving us a find in Derwent County. By the end of our holiday, we had found and signed a log for at least one cache in every county on the main Island.

Puzzle solved, cache found and log signed with dalerious .
We enjoyed your Mysteries so thank you 63ROOS. It was so nice meeting you at the CITO and I can't wait to cross paths with you again.
We had this trip to Tasmania on our wish list very soon after we met. The meticulous planning began a few months ago when we finally set a date to sail to a place that I had been before, but never cached, and for dalerious, a place he cached, but never really got to see the real beauty of this place, and all it's glory. God's country about sums it up.
We started our adventure in the North West and traversed the entire Island in 10 days. We thought the weather was going to thwart our plans, but all it did was change the itinerary a tad.
Where back home was flooding, we had mostly sunshine here; apart from the North of your lovely state, and our thoughts were with those who were affected both here and at home.
Caches here took us to extraordinary places; one's we will never forget.
We also got to meet some cachers; we can't wait to meet the rest .

Camping and caching in the old home town. Its a long time since I've walked the streets of Norfik. Visited the memorial sfor my sister and mother in the columbarium at St Matthews Church, then went to the historical feature near WP2 to collect the necessary info. That was after I failed the Sudoku puzzle and had to get confirmation from the CO. Anyway, all good now and successfully logged. Cache in good nick. TFTC 63ROOS
I had done the working out for this one last time I was in New Norfolk, but it was pouring with rain.
This time it took very little time to find the cache.

Haha, had a good laugh with this one. When you go with a seasoned geocacher it sometimes gets frustrating when they always spot it first....
I said I really wanted to find this one...
S_38 suggested what he would have done to hide it- and that made sense.
Then he asked me to pose for a picture.... and asked me to move a little to the side.... before he showed me the picture I noticed the cache and for a second I felt triumph... until I realised he took the picture with the cache in the background... !
Thanks for the fun cache!!!

Nice easy solve and find. Interesting little historical place. May not have stopped here otherwise. Thanks 63ROOS
No joy for me with this one on this trip. Yesterday: It is surprisingly easy to miscount those vowels, but subsequent re-counts cleared that up quickly. Then, I failed with my primary school maths that had me looking in an impossible location ("Don't forget to carry the one!"). After turning the other mystery cache into a smiley, I returned to camp and after finding my basic error it was too late to make the find. Today: Having packed up camp ready for an early departure tomorrow, I thought I might just have time to make the find. It was dusk. I searched until the darkness descended, then reached for the only artificial light I had with me, a small light from the geo-cycle. Darkness again descended when the battery of my bike light expired. Oh well, I am confident that I have the correct co-ords now, so on my next trip to New Norfolk.....
Just loved this one .. and it's our first Mystery cache found! The sudoku puzzle was fun, as was the next puzzle on the ground. We arrived at our solution co-ordinates and the hide was right there, and it was very clever. It took us two visits to track it down and it was right where it was supposed to be (but needed a re-think on the actual location and then it appeared).
A brain way smarter than mine [B)] helped with the Sudoku puzzle (well... 95% of it ha ha) that done i did the WP1 side of this puzzle so when i arrived here at New Norfolk today, Wednesday the 28th of April 2021, i made my way to the 1st part and grabbed the total of the vowels needed to work out the rest of it.
Easy As!... well, just to be sure i went over checking vowels 3 times... S L O W L Y so i didn't muff it up and i had a set of co-ords that didn't have me 20km away or in the middle of the river ha ha
Arrived at the final and i saw the thicket where a 'hanger' might be. 10 minutes passed scrutinizing... no good... delve into past logs. Some slight whiffs of a hint. So i tried something else and finally spotted the sneaky hide. The visual right angle is needed here i found
I was beginning to have doubts before it but i wasn't leaving without it given all the work done to complete this cool Mystery Cache
SL all chuffed as, at 12:36.
The log within is dry

While out on our geotour of nature and its surrounds, i insisted we stop here for a gander and almost like magic, my name's in the logbook for posterity.
Thanks 63ROOS for hiding a cache with such a unique d/t combination, i hadn't ever come across it before.
Gotta love a sudoku with a twist.
Cheers!

My last day in Tasmania and I was lucky to meet up with Lady membsec and head out for an adventure. I mentioned I had never been to this area before and LadyM was more than happy to join me for the lovely drive.
I do love a sudoku puzzle! In no time I had a good looking set of coords.
We arrived at GZ and were surprised to find a tree bearing fruit. Well, don’t mind if we do! The cherry plums were sweet and tasty. I’ve never tried them before. It didn’t take long for the container to be in hand.
Thanks for the cache 63ROOS

I solved the first stage of this one soon after it was published, and when searching for others in the New Norfolk area, I attempted to complete the next step and search for the cache.
I was able to gather the other required info, but there were muggles all around GZ, arriving and leaving all the time. I tried to have a look around GZ but I couldn't get close enough to spot it without drawing attention to myself with all the muggle traffic. Today, there were no muggles in sight (bad weather can do that), and I was able to have a decent look and after a short search was soon signing the log. A good hide.

Our Tassie Christmas holiday continues as we enjoy tripping around, but spending far too little time in each place.
Today found us exploring Hobart and then staying overnight at New Norfolk. We worked on this puzzle while relaxing at the Caravan Park by the river. On our way out of town this morning we completely the next stage and found the well concealed cache.
Thank you for another of your caches during our Tassie holiday.

Everything worked well until a rookie error had GZ in a workshop.....
A quick rework had GZ in an area that made sense, and the cache was also hidden the same way !

I found it - my first “ real” difficult find in a long time. I was going to give up but one last look from a different perspective and I spied it. So much excitement bubbled up inside me. Given a favourite point TFTC
Hi 63Roos wandered along to collect this cache this morning which was the last of your new series around New Norfolk. It took me a while to get the hang of the Sudoku puzzle. Have never tried one would you believe at my age. Once I got started a couple of guesses and a rubber saw the coordinates come together and with the vowels counted GZ was calculated. It is lovely to wander underneath with no muggles especially when your a porkchop. However on this occasion I was able to spot my nemesis cache quite quickly. Thanks for a another great series of caches.
Took a break from preparing the house for some changes and nipped off up to new Norfolk for a few caches. Of course it decided to rain, so my idea to grab the caches near Brighton will have to wait for another day.
Nice little run around new Norfolk. All caches were in good condition.

Found on a day trip to Hobart. This took some time but finally found the hiding spot. A quiet place for a morning tea stop.
Cache and contents were in good condition.
Thanks 63ROOS for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.

Hi 63ROOS
While I was actually looking for this cache, the rain started pouring down
My car window was down, so I drove home with a wet arse
However, I did manage to find the cache before leaving GZ
It was Sainted at 1523 hours
An enjoyable cache in a very picturesque place
TFTC and cheers

We thought the wind would not be so bad today and we were hoping for great weather! Wind not too bad and the sun came out a few times!
Had worked out the puzzle on the day it came out.....google search gave us everything we needed but we only put in WP1 and not GZ and when we arrived we realised that we had left our info in Hobart! Oh dear but male membsec remembered google map and was confident we were in the correct place so the search began. And we searched and searched concentrating in all the wrong spots! Male membsec was just about to redo the puzzle thinking we may be in the incorrect spot when I messaged a friend, “should we be searching in this xxxxx?” and a reply came back no! So with that we expand the search and spotted the little beast, and then more information came back just as male membsec was retrieving the log!
Thanks for the puzzle and cache!

I was being watched....I made my way towards GZ just before 4pm but there were two cars with muggles, so decided to come back after finding a few other caches....at 5pm there were four cars, with people just sitting watching....so will be back .......
Our first find after lunch. It took a while to spot this one but we were too close to the scene! SSR spotted it for a different angle and then I guided him as he reached for it.
With so many new caches, it was a pretty easy decision for our caching destination today. As is customary, stainless steel rat and I stopped for a takeaway coffee before heading to Bridgewater to do the trail there along the Derwent foreshore then up to New Norfolk for Pizza lunch at the market and a few more caches. We came down the western side of the river and picked up a couple more caches up in the hills on the way home.

Today's caching was to be a bit of a loop round Bridgewater and New Norfolk to collect the new caches that have come out since I was last up this way.
I picked the Goose up at just after 9 and after a few caches on the North side of the river we had a lunch of Pizza at the market before finding a few on th way home, as a bonus there was a new GCA published and we just managed a FTF.
this one was hard to start with but after a change of angle it was spotted and i repositioned myself to make the find and add our names to the log.
Found on 12/09/2020 at 1:41:00 PM thanks to 63ROOS for placing this cache for me to find.

Hello 63ROOS thank you for the cache
This evening EeePees and I were out caching before our BNO.
Once at GZ we started on our search in the dark, it was a lengthy search before it was found.

We solved the first part of this puzzle without any hassles and had the coordinates for the waypoint. We went there today and collected the required information. Then the fun started. Although it was only a short walk to GZ, we spent over 40 minutes looking for the cache but without success. Looking back through the logs and seeing that a previous finder had contacted the CO for additional help. So we did the same. However while waiting for a reply, one of us happened to look from the right direction and located the well hidden cache. The cache and contents were in good condition. We had just replaced the cache and were heading back to the car when the CO replied - we were very appreciative of her prompt assistance. Thanks 63ROOS for an enjoyable puzzle and a very challenging hide.
Out and about on another glorious spring day finding caches that have recently appeared and this was one of them. Mrs W. had the puzzles solved in this series as soon as they were published so it was nice to turn it into a smiley. This one took a long time and finally we had to resort to asking the CO for a hint which was quickly forthcoming and the hidden cache appeared. TFTP and for adding a nice cluster of caches in New Norfolk. A nice puzzle and hide. Deserves a fav.
I'll call it springcaching, a sniff of warm weather and multi notifications of new traditionals and off we go to find the new caches around Hobart area. TFTC TNLN log dry a nice hide.
