Up here on holiday, a nice drive out here, beautiful looking beach, thanks

I brought my niece from France out here to show her our beautiful beaches. Had to back for caches of course and found this one easily enough. Just need to aware of the pest trap nearby. TFTC.

After some fun at the beach, we decided to come at this one from the tricky side. It turned out not so bad after all, especially after the oldest kid had me climbing all over the lookout rock! Cache was found easily, log signed and we left via the more conventional path back to the carpark.

Found - Mrs McMike2012 & I now live full-time in our caravan & travel the country visiting places we want to visit & doing the things that we want to do we were staying in the Warkworth area & decided we needed a walk, so headed out to the Auckland Regional Council Park at Tawharanui parked up & ended up doing the 2 Adventure Labs, a Virtual, an Earthcache & 14 Traditionals, all while walking 10.5kms weather was a bit on & off, with showers rolling through on a regular basis, which ended up cutting our day short but never fear, well be back another day to finish off what we missed today this cache was easily found, logbook completed & then replaced back into position, then we could take in the views & capture a few photos for ourselves pleased to add all those 'smiley faces' to the tally TFTC ... TN:LN:SL #5,086 for Us!

Great view & great cache! Traded some treasures.

Have had my eye on this park for a while but always assumed that we would need to stay close by as likely needed 2 days to complete the caches so hadn't got around to it. Mrs Stik-a-Crane came up with a plan to leave home at 5am and continue until complete and we should be able to get to most of them. From start of car park to return to car park GPS read 9:38 for time and 20.46km distance walked. We did continue with some of the others along the roadway afterwards but did not count those in the timings.

After a quick refuel stop at the cars we wandered over here for this short walk and caches up this path. Nice quick find here and we were on our way again.

In the area today after Mrs stik-a-crane planed for a small group to explore the Regional Park that we had previously unsuccessfully tried booking camping time at......Seeing there were many caches in the park there was talk it may require a couple of visits to gather all the caches up for offer, but as my goal for the year is 3 cache finds per day, the thought of even gathering half the available caches was going to help my target.....plus to be able to explore the park a second or third time might not be a bad thing.....
The carer was booked for 24 hours, as we had a 5am start, joined up with the team and off we headed .....arrived at the carpark with only a few cars already parked and headed off to this cache after ticking off the available ad.lab locations....heading along the North coast trail to the end of the peninsula taking a few detours as needed, and as it was overcast and quite windy there was only a handful of muggles around......found with Keylev after a little refueling rest at the cars....

Checked on the cache today and it was quite damp. Replaced with a new container and logbook and added 3 TBs.

Back at Tawharanui this afternoon to do the adventure lab and collect a few more caches. Walked up to this spot to check out the view and made a nice quick find of this cache.

We are visiting NZ for a couple weeks and this is the first cache we found. I doubt we will be able to top the views here! Tftc! Didn't sign the log because we forgot a pen but I took a pic as proof.

Headed up here to see the views, which were awesome. We got really lucky with the weather today. It meant the park was pretty busy, but this was a nice spot away from all the people at the beach. No one around to watch me looking for the cache. It was a quick find using the hint. The log was damp but I managed to sign.

2 TBs showing as being in here, but I only saw one. I've taken it out to move along. Once again I hadn't checked that before finding the cache, so it was a nice surprise!

There was a couple at the the nearby lookout so I pretended to be taking pictures. When I looked around GeohoundandI had disappeared. She decided sitting at the lookout was a better idea.
A quick and easy find. I covered it up with some nearby camo.

Chose the difficult path up the hill from the beach haha turns out there's a flat grassy path. Magnificent views TFTC

Thankfully this was a quick find! Had just returned the cache & about to check out the views when a flock of seagulls swooped & squawked at me. That was my cue to get outta there! TFTC

Brought the wife to Tawharanui for the first time, and found a few geocaches along the way! The hardest part of this one was finding the right path to follow, with all the different temporary fences around the place. Once we got that sorted, GZ was quickly located and the cache was in hand, thanks to the Mrs. TFTC!

Out with Team Gold (Lis crew, 0B80B8) today to clean up the remaining caches in the Tawharanui Regional Park. Soon located with the hint. Great spot with great views. TFTC

I'm out for another big caching day in Tawharanui with team G0LD - Geocachers 0B80B8, myself (Lis's crew) and DaffyNZ. We were out this way in May and today we successfully completed the other end of Tawharanui. We have just 2 dnfs from our last trip to go but they were too far out to attempt again today.

After finishing out here early in the afternoon we headed back through Snells beach, Algies Bay and into Warkworth enjoying the views and topping up our numbers as we went.

We had a fun day, did lots of walking, only got rained on once, and I got 50 caches so a pleasing tally. Good to earn my top of the mountain souvenir today too. An easy find here and beautiful views. Thanks for your cache

My first full day in the Tawharanui Regional Park. I am going for a walk along the South Coast Track to see how far my body will take me.

We were in the area visiting some friends at the campground. While everyone played in the sea I went for a stroll to collect some caches. Hint spot on for a quick find and to sign a dry log. Great views from up here. TFTC.
