Trying to complete the December challenge cache but due to being in remote areas for a week with limited caches available I have fallen behind in me quest. The completed challenge so far
- Attended 1/1 CITO events
- collected 7/7 different cache types
To complete
- 65/71 caches logged
This being number 65

Out for an afternoon of caching with Zombie850. We were unsure if this met our 'easy' criteria that we had agreed to but we decided to give it a go regardless. Found an entry point not to far from GZ and made our way there. Once there it was an easy find. Awesome Dino watched under the cache. Log signed and returned ready to start the next one.

Happy International Geocaching Day! Justified this find during Covid lockdown as essential exercise, and not too far from home. Took a while to look in the right spot, but then it was like a bauble on a Christmas tree!
Thanks MizMaz, I'm sure the rest of the trail will be picked off slowly!

Unexpected detour through Nowra after an AL in the highlands so figured I may as well tick off a few more of the Dino series. Getting onto sunset so a few mozzies as big as the Pterodactyl around. Luckily quickly spotted, signed and retreated.

Luckily this one was facing the path, so I spotted it before stepping off the track. TFTC

WOOHOO ANOTHER [FTF]

Today is the 9th November 2020 and I managed to find 75 Caches for the day with my friend Loci612. It was an amazing day of caching. We had no DNFs for the day and we also got a grand total of 37 FTFs. We spent a total of almost 14 hours caching and I was dog tied at the end of it all. One of the highlights for the day were seeing a Lyrebird and almost hitting a kangaroo head on at 90kmph (just Missed Him). In total I drove 770kms but I love geocaching so much and the friends I have made along the way make it all worthwhile.

I have included one of the Geocaching poems that I have written. I hope that anyone reading it likes it. Thanks for all the caches and sorry for the generic log for this cache but with 75 finds including the 37 FTFs it is hard to write a different one for each cache.

ALL CACHES WERE SIGNED DSD. ALL CACHES WERE FOUND IN GOOD ORDER UNLESS STATED OTHERWISE. THANKS FOR THE CACHE AND THE ADVENTURE. I HAVE INCLUDED SOME RANDOM GEOCACHING PHOTOS WITH MY FOUND IT LOG.

I have included my one of a kind Geocache Poem with this log for future readers to enjoy.

Geocache Poem
By DARKSIDEDAN

My endless search goes on and on
Looking for treasures of every kind
Always chasing just one more find
Putting past DNF’s out of my mind

I step out into the world outside,
Seeking what is hidden from me
What size, shape or form will it be?
Only time will tell, I can’t wait to see

Will I find my prize at the end?
I will search in the failing light and cold
Filling with despair having looked everywhere
Where is this thing that gives my life pleasure?

Looking all around from every angle
I read the logs and check the hint
I curse out loud as I walk in circles
Screaming the bloody thing it not there

As time flies by and I fail to see,
Never once stopping to realize
It always been there before my eyes
No need for sorrow, there’s the Geocache.

***** I am currently writing more detailed logs than usual. This is because of a challenge provided by Project-GC called "The Author" Badge. "The Author" Badge challenges geocachers to write an average of one hundred words or more in each Found It log. As of 9th November 2020 my average was 160 words per log, which seems close to the 200 words per log target. However given that I have found so many GC caches, I have to write many logs with well over 100 words for a long period of time to get my average to the target. Apologies to anyone who finds the logs tedious but it is the only way that I can strive to attain this challenge. After 7600 plus caches (which includes all cache finds up and including yesterday), the average log length is just over 160 words. I am now entertaining the possibility that I might be able to achieve my task before this year ends. Progress has been better than anticipated.*****

*FTF* with DSD @ 1:30 pm Big Grin

After grabbing a single FTF up in Exeter, we had the option of going for another FTF 30 minutes down the road, or 8 FTF's all the way in Nowra in the opposite direction!

It was a 1 hour and 10 minute drive to the first cache which wasn't too bad, so we decided to go for it! As we were driving down through the windy roads, I noticed more were being published here! And 8 new caches soon turned into 15! With 15 caches up for grabs the anticipation was high as we raced towards the coast!

Managed to sign a blank logbook in all 15 caches, with the first one at 1:30pm and the last one at 3:33pm we did it in 2 hours! No breaks and a quick pace throughout, the only thing slowing us down was a couple of tough finds, one I gave up on and started walking back to the car when DSD spied it last minute just as he was about to call it quits too! How lucky!

Thanks for this series T-rex 11, I would say most caches are at minimum D2, and a couple D2.5 - 3 due to their small size in such dense bush areas, but we were extremely thankful and happy about the coordinates being quite accurate within a 5m radius at every cache, so well done on the great readings despite all the tree cover! That certainly made things better and narrowed down the options!
