20-Feb-23
It took a while going back & forth, & even down & under before we spotted what the hint referred to. An easy find after that. Carefully retrieved the cache, signed on the safety of the bank & replaced. Great little cache placement, thanks.

14-Jan-23
Was going to have another look on the way back to Arrowtown but ended up helping someone in distress so logging a DNF now.

Found the clue but not the cache. Another time!

07-Jan-23
Ah, no need to go that far under. Found with the aid of the hint.

The river must be swift and deep ion that little cutting.

02-Jan-23
Walked over and back, without finding any pigeons. The 3rd time I crossed, I spotted 17 of them.
Cautious of my hat, sunglasses, car keys, and phone, I dropped them back to shore.
Made the quick find, but the pressure was on not to drop the cache.
Wrote my name back on shore, but when i placed it back, it was on a weld nearly dropping it. Luckily, I had my other hand ready, just in case.

28-Dec-22
Found this morning while out for a bike ride on the river tracks. There had been a couple of previous attempts at this cache in the past and some kind help was needed from the cache owner but armed with that, a big groan moment was had this morning with the “how did we miss that???” and the cache was quickly located. TFTC WW, a fav point from us for this hide.

An interesting addition under the road bridge, but finding the cache took a while, and only then did we also spot the unusual hint. A cache, the finding and replacement of which does cause high nervousness. TFTC

12-Apr-22
Have driven past here enuf times but never stopped till today. All very clear. Eventually! The horse chestnuts are looking good and the sweet chestnut trees that I've seen elsewhere, look loaded. Mmm I love roast chestnuts. Tftc

Another cache that took a bit of looking for, with GPS next to useless here. I was crossing the bridge counting, this counting that when I saw the hint item and had to laugh. (fav point here). We made the find and carefully replaced the cache. Thanks.

Ms_KR and I are on a wee South Island break. Today we cruised around Wanaka, and off to Queeenstown. It poured with rain for a couple of hours but when it came time to leave the campground it miraculously stopped! Lucky us.

Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. Cheers.

10-Apr-22
found lots of pigeon feathers but no cache. re read hint thought and paced about then spotted hint location and soon had cache in hand.

Biked from Arrowtown to the Kawarau bridge today in lovely autumn weather. Nice to see plenty of autumn foliage although it’s still early days for some. Picked up a few caches on the return leg. We spent 15-20 minutes looking for this one without success. Covered a lot of ground at risk to life and limb! In the end we left empty-handed without having made any sense of the hint!

After contacting a ‘friend’ I was given a further hint. Returned a short while later and made sense of the original hint. It’s obvious once you know, but of limited value before then! Found the cache reasonably quickly after that. Left the bridge to sign it because I was dead scared of dropping it! My immediate thought was that the difficulty rating for this one should perhaps be 3.0 rather than 2.0! #4841. TFTC.

07-Apr-22
Gps no good under the bridge so a methodical search until I understood the hint then a quick find. All back safely.

Loved the hint!!!

01-Dec-21
Found with StreetWalkerNZ while travelling from Wanaka to Queenstown via the Crown Range.
We walked from the Whitechapel Rd wp - a pleasant walk with no cyclists to contend with.
Once the hint was read, and a little more notice taken of the surroundings, the cache was a quick find. We took it off the bridge to sign - just in case! I think we signed as SWaT to save on space.
Instead of walking back via the bike track, we decided the road would be quicker as we could see an easy way from the track to the road. TFTC.

#20514. Troodles wasn't sure whether we'd get to this one, but it was a nice area so we decided to walk down the bike track to the bike bridge. Took a little while to spot (quick find once we worked out what the hint referred to). TFTC.

A quick drive out to these two caches for today . i did wonder at the hint and looked for evidence of pigeons etc until i saw the hint more plainly and then it was a quick find, sign and replace with no muggles passing by while i was on the bridge.
Another winter trip down to ski fields around Queenstown , Wanaka etc . and of course locating some of the newer caches or caches that had not been found on previous visits and so when the weather is not conducive to going up the mountains sight seeing was the next choice of action along with locating some of these caches . I am pleased to be able to change 3 blue faces to smiley ones this tour down here but it was disappointing that several of the Frankton to Queenstown cycle trail caches have been disabled and so the final of these is not found as yet .

01-Aug-21

23-Jan-21
What a cool river and bridge. Nice to be out in the afternoon sun with friends on the walkway. Tftc

23-Jan-21
Enjoyed stopping here and heading under the bridge for this cache
Quick find while up for the day from Invers with some fun friends

23-Jan-21
Can't say how many times over the years I've crossed this bridge. Parked up & my passenger said the sign beside her said "no parking."opps Reversed up the road a bit to a more likely park. Strolled on down the track avoiding a few friendly cyclist along the way.
The was another first for the day, to be under this bridge looking at the scenery & finding a cache. Great hint by the way. TFTC Smile

23-Jan-21
A group of keen Southerners decided we'd had enough rain for the week and took a blat to Queenstown for the day where we hoped the weather would be warmer and drier.... which it was. Considering it's Gibbston Valley weekend the roads were surprisingly quiet! Once we'd found a reasonable place to park the cars off we went. Encountered some muggles on bikes along the way but they didn't bite. After a short search we found what we were after. Replaced carefully. TFTC

12-Jan-21
Great to find a newly replaced new-ish cache (placed on my birthday BTW). Needed extra concentration and a 2nd pair of hands to deal with the teeny bits, nothing was dropped thank goodness. SL and replaced carefully. Auspicious find number 1800 tftc Matt worth a fave in many ways

12-Jan-21
Cache was indeed gone. Replaced and all good to go again.

02-Jan-21
It appears it may have gone. Will check soon and replace if necessary

01-Jan-21
Bother - poor reception, little time, and cycle traffic meant this wasn't a hard-out search. I will return!

29-Dec-20
A DNF for us today. We only had the phone, well that is our excuse.

21-Sep-20
First! Thanks for the cache. Phone gps play with you a little bit as the bridge on the top hide the signal. But after looking 20min, I finding of course at his good place. Thanks a lot for bring us outside.
