The rest of the family is away for school holidays so I decided to have a long weekend caching. After a day along the Murray yesterday, today I headed up to Yass. Wanted to clean up the endangered species trail and see what happened after that. Tomorrow is my big day - aiming to hit 7000 and set a new caches in a day record. Ended up in Binalong as well for a few in the afternoon. One of two in Yass while finishing the AdLab near here. Stretched up to reach the cache (some cachers I know would need a step here).TFTC Hugeted
After checking past logs we found this one. Maybe if I did a handstand it would be toe height? Pleased I could get this one for us. Cool hide though. TFTC.
A foggy start to today in Yass.It was cold and damp as we wandered around town looking for a few caches.A few runners about and later on a few folks having breakfast in the main street. Thanks to Hugeted for this hide.
Full time Nomads, travelling around Australia since 2014. Our time in Yass is coming to an end. today we decided to head out and attempt caches closer to Yass that we have previously driven right on past. Got sprung by Sui_001 at a cache. Always good to meet cachers when out on the hunt. The hint is only useful if your doing a handstand. [:o)]TFTC Hugeted
Very tall toe. Took us too long to find this one. Hint not accurate any more. Signed as the Roos.
Found while staying at yes after the mega. We came out to view the dam overflowing today and found this cash a little higher than toe height thanks.
In the area with woolwood9 today. ????*We soon had the container found!* ????SL *tm/ww NZ**Thanks for putting this cache out for us to visit*
Over in the area heading for Canberra to attend the Easter Mega with tmann421Tons of caches done while here and this was one of them.Enjoyed the touring around and all the containers foundLog signed tm/ww NZThanks for the placement and the effort put into maintaining these hides for us to find.??????
Day out in Yass. Got about twenty finds for the afternoon. Signed and. replaced. Tftc. Fav
Quite a bit higher than "toe" height! We found your cache today 19 March 2024 10:56am , while enjoying another day in our beautiful countryside. TFTC Hugeted
Found It!No one else here admiring the infrastructure today so I was able to find the cache after a quick search. Nice views.TFTC
#17154 - 10:13:00 AM; A quickish caching run on the backroads to Yass, collecting another Dragonstone and a few susages along the way before wrapping up with a couple of newer caches in Yass itself before heading back for home. This was the last stop for today and I had the required ToTTs with me to ensure I could open the cache. A bit of WD40 wouldn't have gone astray either! Managed to make the find and add my name to the log today, unlike the last visit with Sol de lune when we weren't equipped to get it open! Plenty of rust showing on the dampish log too. TFTC Hugeted
#6229.
A perfect day for some geocaching as there was almost no muggles around and we could search uninterrupted. This was a sneaky hide. After getting my hands on the container, we needed two pairs of pliers to open the container as it was rusted shut. The log sheet has also been discoloured, but I was still able to scribble my name on a blank space. TFTC!

The cache is rusted shut. You will need tools to open it again. Photo sent to CO. TFTC.
Edit: I tapped the cache lightly on my towbar and managed to get it open.

Nice easy no one has not logged in it for a long time heaps of room left on it tftc
Checked on cache. It opens fine and has plenty of space on the scroll for more finds.
This one was indeed stuck, so we deployed the tool kit for the second time today. Managed to open the container and sign the log. Hopefully it remains free for the next finder.
We are ''stickers! When we get onto something we stick'' to it.
With a top temperature of 7 degrees today and the wind chill factor making it feel like 1 degree we rugged up and headed out to tackle a loop north of Yass which we came to call the 'Stick Trail'. It was tough going particularly early on and we considered giving it away until we got into the theme and then things got much better.
Nonetheless we still had a couple of DNFs and we walked away from higher Ts when we couldn't spot them from the ground.
We also cached the AHH letterbox series and collected a few in town on our way back.
In the end a satisfying day, much better than just sitting in the van.
Thank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache Hugeted.

Out with LuckyL10n for another Yass run and this was our next stop. Cache was spotted and grabbed without issue.....however we couldn't get it open to get to the log. Tried a bit of WD40, tried a two person two handed approach, but the device wasn't going to open. Decided to let it go for another day and hope that something has more luck/strength than us. Then we stood back and watched the water flowing over the spillway....so not all was lost.
Thanks anyway Sui.....no doubt we'll be back.
Thanks anyway Sui.....no doubt we'll be back.
Managed to find the cache pretty quickly, spotting it on the approach. Sadly, recent inclement weather seems to have caused a little corrosion and withoutb the appropriate tools or any WD40, we couldn't gain access to the log sheet Plenty of water pouring over the weir today made up for the disappointment
Travelling through Yass on a mini road trip from the coast to Cowra for an annual cycling weekend. Didn't know much about the town of Yass and this is my first visit. Used a few Geocaches to take my parents and I to some interesting spots. I had walked along the river earlier but came back with my parents by car to see the dam. I spotted this pretty quickly as i have one hidden just like this. Could not open though as rusted. Will send pic as proof.
I spy with my little eye ‘one of those’ ! Given it was dark I felt it before I realised that was the treasure. With a mean little cuts on my hands I could not actually open it to sign so have sent a photo to the CO. I’ll be back in day light to do further exploring along the trail. TFTC AND THE FUN
Found on a (reasonably) big day of caching on my way to my accommodation in Jugiong en route to the Wangaratta mega. What an amazing location! Awesome views of the dam, and not too far from the CBD! Quick find at GZ, needed my tweezers from the car. Great hide, very well placed! TFTC Hugeted!
Had Roostaman reach out asking if I had time to do some caching around Yass, after a couple chats, we decided to go after the BadgeGen Series Silver (with a couple Gold thrown in for good measure) just north of Yass. All caches were located along the trail however the containers dont seem to be holding up too well against nature and most had wet/damp logs and water pools in the bottom of the containers. CO has been advised that a full maintenance run is required on the series. Once the trail was done, we met up with some others to do a couple tree caches nearby to end our day out and about.
Alot of us had gone our own way now, so a couple quick grabs before making my way home. Nice easy find here, signed and replaced as found.
Thanks for the cache placement Hugeted and thanks for a fun day out RM and a special thanks to our monkeys of the day!

Found on a fine mild Summer day for a drive along the Yass trails.
Todays mission was the Silver Challenges with Rapidlywild.
Then we visited a few more new caches as well.
A quick find here.

Wow - have been coming to Yass since 2013 for caching and never seen this weir - and so much water flowing over it!
Thanks Hugeted.

Camping at Joe O'Connor Park Yass. Day 2
Our caching partners are pprass.
Today we chose caches closer to town. Once again there was a lot of very difficult & tricky hides. Our TOTT also came into good use agin. A few very unsavoury words were muttered during our outing.
What an incredible view over the dam wall from GZ, a good place to hide a cache.
Thankyou Hugeted for placing this cache.

IKaruS eyes found it. Clever cache in plain sight. Alas the loop we’d planned for our river walk didn’t happen as a fence barred the river weir crossing so back the way we came
Found @ 12:34pm with hccatcher11415
I had actually found this cache earlier today on my Sunday stroll but was unable to open it.
Returned with the necessary equipment - while I replaced the soggy full log (photo attached) with a fresh log (I have kept the old log if you want it?), hccatcher gave the cache a good clean with some lubricant so it’s good to go.
Thanks Hugeted

After allrounder came for a walk earlier and noticed this container but couldn’t open it, we decided for a quick get out of the house to come make the find. A little bit of maintenance with stuff (lube) from the tool kit in the back of geo-vehicle and log was in hand, signed and replaced.

Awesome to see a cache here! I always thought this would be a good spot for a cache, an interesting area and a good view through the fence nearby.
A familiar camouflaged container, and a good spot for it!

We decided to head out to Yass between events today with ALL7 to do the AL out there and any others that have popped up since we were last there. Seems there have been a few. Mainly stayed to the town we will venture back one day to clean up the outskirts.
Quick find at this one. Might become less obvious in time.
Thanks for the hide Hugeted

A long day of caching in and around Yass. Cache challenge as main goal, but also the newer caches in town after clearing the area a few years ago.

A quick find of this classic hide, after I let GeoDaughter struggle for a bit. Nice views here. TFTC!
A quick find. Cache and log are okay. The last person had rolled up the log well, so it was easy to extract. I tried to duplicate this when I re-rolled it. TFTC Hugeted.
Great views of the waterways from here .
Nice sneaky hide as well ,

Spent the morning caching around Yass, before heading towards Canberra.
Thanks to all the CO's for a entertaining day. All caches found quickly and in good condition.
Many thanks for placing this cache, Hugeted, for us and others to find.

Found with Aquilus1 and Tankengine while out on a cache maintenance run and to clear out a few more caches.
This cache: although we were tired and just wanted to head home, we couldn’t help picking up just a couple more in town.
This was pretty quick to pick up ad. Easy to park next to. Nice hide. Tftc Hugeted!!!

With Tankengine and dty73 we set out early this morning to watch the balloons, so after they floated off and a bit of breakfast we set off for the cache maintenance that was on the days agenda. That taken care of and with Yass close by with caches we could all get, made for a good choice for our next direction. As luck would have it a new cache published while there and an unexpected AL we hadn't noticed and FTF.
Cached our way about and after a little lunch a new plan and it was off to Jugiong for another new cache, a busy town as we did the local caches and then a few others on the way home. An unexpected but lovely day with a lot of variety, nice scenery and some quality caches along the way.
Good to have infrastructure! Spotted from the car which is welcomed at the end of the day! Thanks for the cache Hugeted.

We used to come down here every time the river flooded to see the water going over the wall. Didn't take much to amuse teenagers in those days!
Cache found quickly, and all OK. Thanks,

Wow, this CO must be quite tall for the hint to be correct. But that wasn't a problem as when we arrived with ilook4geo it was spotted immediately before we could get out of the car. This made for a very quick retrieval and all was replaced as found after both names had been added to the list of finders. Thanks go to Hugeted for this cache placement.
This was an easy find as it was starting to get dark. Log signed, all replaced. TFTC.
Over 10 years in Yass and I've never been to this neck of the woods, but by a funny coincidence the boy and I were talking about this very street not more than 2 hours before I decided to take a look at one of the newer caches in town!
The find couldn't have been easier - I spotted it from the car (probably could have retrieved it from the car for that matter), jotted my name in the log, replaced the cache as found and was on my way again in moments.

In the area doing an AL, this was a straightforward find at GZ with a cool container. Thank you!
Out and about caching this afternoon with fitzy_1965 and albida33.
I think the infrastructure messed with my phone and had me 17m away when I was actually only 2m from GZ. Thankfully fitzy made a quick find. Cache fits in well.

23,576. Found during a caching meander around Yass with minniek and albida33 this afternoon.
minniek and I headed to Yass to catch up with albida for some caching this afternoon. A lot of quality caches were targeted. This next one was another beauty. We were confused at first because we didn't need to get the TOTT out (lol). I soon spotted a familiar type of hide which I always enjoy. Signed the log, replaced the cache as found, then headed off to the next one on the list.
Thanks Hugeted !!

I headed out to Yass to join up with Fitzy_1945 and MinnieK to visit some of the new caches out this way that neither of us have done yet. The weather had cleared up for our afternoon run and we had a great time visiting tree climbs, ladder trips and well camouflaged trickily hidden caches. And a few obvious ones that were still hard to access. A great afternoon ! We are looking forward to the next batch !
GZ was taking MinnieK away from what I could see sitting in the car. I love these things and love then even more when they are used like this.

After I got alerted this had published it took me longer to find my car keys than to get to GZ. Very frustrating.
Upon arrival I completely looked square at the cache, but discounted it.
It wasn’t till I started fiddling around and poking fingers that it moved and ‘aha!’ Moment.
Great one. Look forward to the next
